I am looking for a hotel in NY City, and I remember that a few months ago there were some posts about a site that tracked the rates people were getting through both Priceline and Hotwire, so others would know what kind of bids were likely to be accepted. Anybody know what that site is? Also, anybody with experience bidding for NY hotels?

I bid through Priceline for a NYC hotel last summer. I had never been to NYC. I read all the reviews on Biddingfortravel and decided to bid on a 3* in the midtown area as the Hilton was coming up with inconsistent reviews (4*). I ended up with the Sheraton Hotel and Towers for $75 a night. We loved it there. Biddingfortravel is a very useful site. I probably wouldn't bid Priceline without it.

Good luck!
