View Full Version : Valentine's Day Challenge who's going DOWN with me?

As some of you know i have been close to goal for some time now but now i'm ready to get it on! Who wants to throw there extra pounds in the Valentine's pool with me? I'm going for GOAL and i want 8.5 lbs to shed by Valentines day? The prize is a new clippe for me and a new start to maintance life! I'm so excited i did fairly decent over the holidays and kinda been on the fence since the middle of November anyone else want to give some pounds up to the Valentines Cupid to take with him forever when he visits on the 14th of Feb? I sure do so there 8.5 lbs for me. Who's coming with me?

Way to GO! Paula. You can so do it. We'll do it together. I also plan to exercise 15 mintues every day as a minimum.

I'd love to have my 15 pound clippie by then. That's only 2 more pounds to lose for me, but I'm getting closer to goal and I have a Disney trip the week before Valentine's Day!

I've started training for the 2005 WDW half marathon, so that will definitely kick my exercise up a notch!

I have been walking 30 minutes every day at lunch and I want to keep that up, plus doing a video or working with my hand weights at home.

I will join you on this, I am approx. 7.5 from my comfort goal weight. I want to get these off and be back to truly maintaining. It has really been tough since Thanksgiving and I'm ready to be completely back on track.

DoeWDW-I am also getting geared up to start training for the 1/2 Marathon in 2005. What training program are you using, one you came up with or one you found on-line? Just curious because I'm not really sure how I want to approach it.

I want to lose 10 by Valentine's Day.Once I get those off I will focus on maintaining.

To me that will be overwhelming. A time when I won't be thinking about losing weight but staying at my current weight.:crazy:

I didn't reach my goal for Thanksgiving only lost 3 but now I'm going for the final goal.

Like DoeWDW I have started training for the 2005 WDW half marathon and I am going to really get in gear.

HI.....I'm with ya ont his one......I am going for 15 pounds.....may sound ilke alot but I have been losing about 10 pounds a month so VD is about 45 days away.. this would give me my 40 pound clippie. I am currently 168 this would bring me down to 153! I am going for it.

I would love to have my 75lb clippie by Valentines day, so that gives me 15lbs to lose. I think that I may be pushing hard to get to that, but it gives me something to work toward. Thanks POS for coming up with this challenge, as these challenges really seem to work for me.

I'd like to get my 15 pound clippie by Valentine's Day. I have 8 pounds to lose to get to that point. I'm currently 'up' a couple of pounds since I earned the 10 pound clippie [shhhhh]. So, put me down for 8 pounds! [I am currently at 215].

Aww gee, I'm not quite sure about this, but put me down for a 12 lb. loss by Valentine's Day, please. I'd like to have my 30 lb. clippie by then. I'm training for the half marathon, too, and I hope that all the walking I'm doing is going to help the weight melt right off me!:Pinkbounc

Wow! Look at all my loser friends up for a new year and a NEW challenge! This is great now i'm not alone for goal. Look at all these go getters we have here amongst us! I know we can do it. (as she chews her last allowed toostie roll of the day :)) I am so excited about having you all come with me.

Okay now lets get the numbers game going. We have exactly 43 days to meet our goals and i'll post a check in to VD thread every friday morning. Okay so i'm sitting at 145 just for the record. I want to see 136.5 and my 100 lb clippee!

I'll go for this one!! I've been a big slacker for the past six months, and finally went back to WW, which is the only program that seems to work for me. I'd like to reach my 10% weight loss by Valentine's Day, which is 15 lbs. This gives me something to reach for, and incentive to do it!:D

Count me in for this one!!! I want to get down to 215 for this challenge, so that is 15 pounds for me. I want that 40 pound clippie!!!! I think this is doable since no holidays are in there, and now I have time to walk again!!! Good luck to us all!!!!!

I was thinking of doing a challenge for Valentines Day also. We leave for our WDW trip on the 11th of Feb. I would love to be at 199 by then (I would have to lose 24lbs) :eek: So I will be a little more realistic. I would love to get a 25lb clippie by then so I will aim for 13lb loss. I want to walk more. I also want to stick to plan much better than I do (I admit I cheat, but still losing so that is all that matters) :wave:

Count me in!!! And I may even reward myself with a big fat strawberry (sans chocolate) on Valentine's Day! :) My goal is to get to 165 by Valentine's Day! I'm stating it and I'm going for it!! No TURNING back!!! WE CAN DO THIS!!!! I'll weigh on Tuesday to see how much that will mean I'll have to lose- but it's probably close to 15 pounds- That's totally doable! :)

Okay - It's a new year and a new me! I'm going for a goal of losing 10 pounds by Valentines Day. (And if I make it, I think I'll treat myself to a CHOCOLATE covered strawberry on VD - but just one!;) ) I think this is a totally "doable" goal for me - as long as I exercise!:eek:

Sign me up! I'd like to lose 15 pounds by Valentine's, which will put me at 228 pounds, with 68 pounds lost.

These challenges are great, they really help keep me focused. Let's make it happen, everyone! I can't wait to see your 100-pound clippie, Partyofsix - something for me to look forward to! :D

Okay everyone get ready for a wonderful monday. Chin UP Fork DOWN.LOL Well it sounded cute. :) Have a wonderful monday everyone and remember drinking your water is So very important. If i had to credit one SINGLE thing to my success it's water. Nothing else. I was addicted to cokes' yes i know hard to believe right? ;) Well i kicked my "coke" habit to allow myself one can of REAL coke first thing in the morning. So instead of having three CASES of 2-liters stacked up waiting for me to drink up i know have ONE 12-pack that will last me almost two weeks if the kids don't have one or company does'nt come by. Then it's water all i drink the rest of the day. NO diet crap no caffine drinks NO NOTHING but water. I wish just ONE single wisher who is not doing this now that had my same coke adddiction would try this it really does crub your appetite and help wash the pounds away. Anyways that's my moment of zin for tonight.LOL Have a wonderful monday guys it's gonna be new subway chicken wrap with onion, tomatoes and horseradish sauce for me tomorrow oh and wow chips >YUM

:crazy: LOL This is the first time in my life I've ever wanted to check in on VD! :crazy:

Count me in! I'm going to set a goal of 6 lbs which would give me my 45 lb clippie! I'm hoping to get the 40 lb one this week since I'm only 1 lb away from that one! My scale has been "stuck" lately due to those nasty little carbs that have been creeping back in to my diet! Well, I'm back on induction so I've kicked those carbs out. Now I'm hoping a few lbs will follow. I'm at the point I was at when I met DH 9 yrs ago after losing about the same amount of weight I've lost now. That time I didn't mgage to keep losing & I DO NOT want that to happen again! I have about 40 more lbs I need to lose to be at a healthy weight, so this challenge will be good for me. Thanks for starting it, Tammy!

Hmm I may have to try the Coke thing. I admit the holidays have driven me to a serious Coke problem. I was down to one bottle a day but for the last couple weeks it has been more like 2-3 a day. (I gotta get that drinking habit under control!!...lol) I have carefully considered the Valentine Day challange and even though I am afraid of failure I'm going to try. That is why I joined WISH to begin with. I'm hoping it will keep me accountable::yes:: So here it goes. I'm 212 now and my goal will be 199 by Feb. 14! Bye bye Coke Hello water. Hopefully I won't look like this in a couple days :crazy:

Carolyn you can so be 199 by VD! You MUST let go of the coke. If nothing else do like i do and have the one in the morning to satifsy yourselve so you don't feel deprived. From there drink as much water as possible you need about 105oz a day. That's about half your body weight in water you can can so do this girl! Come on go with us.

I'm in. I'm going to try for 7lbs which will take me to 170 which was my New Year's Goal. Now that I'm not so busy with work and not having to eat dinner at the mall I think I'll be able to get in some exercise and get back on the right track.

I think I need to jump on this challenge! In my fantasy world I would like to lose 9.8 pounds, so we may as well call it 10 pounds. My goal is to lose this by February 18th as this will be my one year WISH anniversary. I have put on a couple of pounds over the holidays, so I am ready and raring to go.

Add me to your list. I'd like to drop about 5-7 lbs. of fat. But my main goal is to exercise more and develop some muscle. Therefore I don't know if the weight loss will be noticeable on the scale. It'll be more of a measure of clothing.

I'll definitely be adding more water to my diet. I'm not doing a good job at that! We shall see!

Put me down for 10 (but deep in my heart I'm shooting for 12).
This is a great mini-goal and timewise is about halfway to my ONEDerland by Spring challenge.

I'l also starting an exercise program (not actually calling it 'training' yet) which I'll kick up a notch about every five weeks. (I have to be gentle with my joints till a hunk of this weight is off).
My 1/2 marathon training will begin in ernest this summer.

I saw the post about the Valentine's Check-in and wanted to post here to make it official. My original goal was to loose 20 #'s by our Spring Break Trip that starts on 3/12. I started Atkins on Monday, 1/5/04. I think if I make a goal of loosing 15 of those #'s by Valentine's Day, it would be tremendous. So, that's my goal. Fifteen by 2/14.

Way to go Everyone!! I love to see such determination and dedication to becoming healthy.. It inspires me also!! I am having trouble deciding what should be my Valentine's day goal.. Ultimately I would love to say 20 lbs.. but.. I don't think that is realistic... So I will say 15....I think that is a healthier realistic long term goal... so.. I will pick it.. although the devil on my other shoulder is saying 20.. 20.. 20... but no.. I won't fall for it!! :teeth: So.. put me down for 15 by 2/14 Thanks.. and I look forward to seeing our results!!!

A few weeks late :rolleyes: but I think that I will hop on board! Let me see - I started back on Atkins on Monday so I will have 4 1/2 weeks in by Valentine's Day. So I think that going down 5 pounds would not be unreasonable. Well - actually going down 6 pounds would take me to ONEderland - so I think that that might be a better goal for me. 6 pounds for ONEderland by Valentine's Day! What do you think? :hyper:

Me too, I'll join. Although I'm a little sad about it. I was hoping to already be in ONEDERLAND by the beginning of this year, but I blew that at Thanksgiving. Was close again 3 weeks ago being at 203 and messed it up again. :(

So I want 7 pounds gone by Valentine's Day. That will put me at 199 and then only 19 pounds away from my goal of 180.
