Well I am sorta new at pin trading. I have been collecting since 1999 but just started getting serious now that I have more money. I am 14 and buy most of my pins. My collection is small, only 41, but I have a lot of limited editions. I live in california and go to disneyland all the time so I hope to start getting more pins there. We go to WDW 1 or 2 a year. Just got back a few days ago and bought 2 sets of the holiday misiletoe pins, one from each park. I hope to trade the extras for some good things. I basically want some tips to get started, whats good and not good to collect. Does anyone know of buying pins that are LE from WDW without actually going? Also I dont see Pin trading being real big at DL but wondered if anyone know a general area were people set up and trade. If you would not mind going to www.pinpics.com and checking out my collection. My username on there site is msett.

Thanks and Happy Holidays,
Matt

P.S I love the dis but does anyone know of any other pin trading forums with greater activity?

As a sort of small fish trader (meaning I don't do a lot of trading and have only a few traders) here is my thoughts on your questions:

Okay, the very first rule of thumb is collect what you like! It can be very difficult to predict traders as many people on this board could tell you. That being said, some character general a very healthy interest and are generally good traders: Stitch, Tinkerbell, and haunted mansion pins.

Okay, I don't think you can order LE pins from Disney directly, only the rack pins. However, you can make some friends and when they go they can pick up pins for you. You can also go to DIZPINS.com and check out the sale board, the trade board or even the chat boards.

That also answers the other question, dizpins.com has a chat board for pins that moves a little more than the DIS board does right now. It didn't use to be that way.

hope this gives a bit of info.......

By the way you can be a small fish too! right now you only have a few pins but just wait they catch up on you. I should know, I am really not as small a fish as I feel.
