We decide that we will only do a 1/2 day at Animal Kingdom so I go right to Guest Relations to get Steve a Birthday Button. (Animal Kingdom has their own) When I came out, Steve was watching a rolling-talking palm tree interacting with the guests entering the park, it was real cute. He even spotted the person who was controlling it. We head over the bridge and head right for DinoLand to ride Dinosaur. I am stopping in all the stores along the way because I promised my co-worker's son I would send him a dinosaur postcard. I had been saving all my postcards to send out, including my pixie dust postcards, until I had them all. As we walk towards Primeval Whirl the two dinosaur characters are out posing for pictures (I can't remember their names) I got a good one of Steve's head in the dinosaur's mouth. We rode Primeval Whirl and then walked through the shop on the way to Dinosaur and one of the cast member's looked at Steve and says "Happy Birthday Steve!!" He then turns and asks if we have an autograph book, we didn't so he says wait right here and disappears into the back room. We are slightly puzzled but he comes back out with some paper and tells Steve to look to the side and he proceeds to draw a caricature of Steve riding a dinosaur and writes Happy Birthday and the date. He was so nice! I am kicking myself that I did not write his name down nor give him a WWWD pin. That was the time to do it! I hated to have to fold it but I couldn't carry it around like that all day so I reluctantly folded it and put it in my fanny pack. We then rode Dinosaur, which had practically no line, and then walked around by Flights of Wonder which was about to let out. I got a nice picture of the Tree of Life from over there. We then stopped for pictures with Baloo and King Louie. I was looking all around for DeVine, the tree lady, but she wasn't around. We stopped and chatted with the CM working the pin cart and I went into the shop and bought a dinosaur postcard. By this time it was getting very hot. We had only been there about 3 hours but we were all set with Animal Kingdom. The morning had been cool and I hadn't worn shorts but now I was regretting it. :sunny: This is our least favorite park so we headed back to the car, far away, in the diamond lot. So far the AAA diamond lots weren't such a great thing, only in EPCOT was it close enough to be worth it. We hadn't been to MK yet to see where the diamond lot was so we could only hope.

We stopped back at the hotel so I could put on shorts and decided to go to Disney Quest. We wanted to have lunch at Wolfgang Puck's Café. We got seated right away and our waiter was Anthony, he was great. This is by far the best restaurant to use wishes, the food is wonderful and you can order anything you want. They, for some reason, are more lenient with their wishes policy than most WDW restaurants. I had sushi for an appetizer and added a Maine lobster tail to my steak and had a cappuccino. We passed on the potato & bread again but we were still stuffed. We would be going to the dining room upstairs on Friday for Steve's birthday.

After lunch, we went over to Disney Quest to play. First thing we went to was the video games, all the old ones like Space Invaders, Pac-Man and Donkey Kong. We played for a while and then went to the larger games like the jet ski race, that one is fun. We played Aztec treasures for a while but it never seems to work right. Then we went to Pirates of the Caribbean, it was only the two of us and the attendant said we would just have to try to get all the gold by ourselves. On our first voyage we sunk to Davey Jones locker. She came back when our game was over and she said "you can do better than that! Go again." So off to battle the pirates once more, this time we did all right, buccaneers we be! So off we went to the Buzz Lightyear game, where two of you climb in a vehicle, the one who drives slams into the other cars and the other shoots bowling ball size rubber balls at the other cars. Our car didn't shoot at all and we got clobbered so we decided not to play again. We played around until about 4:30 and then went back to the room to rest and get ready to go to the Hoop Dee Do. By this time the temperature had dropped considerably and it was getting quite cold. (no wonder I came home from this vacation with a head cold!)

We drive to fort wilderness and we park in the main lot and walk to where we see the busses stopping. The last time we did this dinner show, you had to catch the Chip or Dale bus. Now they have changed the bus system and they are all by color now. We ask the driver if the bus went to Pioneer Hall and it did so we were the only two on the bus. The driver was very nice and chatted with us the whole way there. We had PS for the 2nd show and we had gotten there a little early. We didn't want the picture so we just hung around. We stood talking to the girl at the DVC booth, poor thing, she was freezing! She said after living in Florida for a while, her blood seemed to be thinner. We entered for the show and because I had booked this so far in advance, we had the table for two, center stage! We had to laugh because this was the same table we had on our last adventure to Pioneer Hall & the Hoop Dee Do. The show was great as usual and when they were looking for birthdays & special occasions, I made Steve raise his hand but he got me back by letting them know we had just gotten engaged so we had to dance. I like this show a lot and definitely recommend it to everyone, it's a lot of corny fun. After the show, we caught the bus back to the main lot and drove back to the hotel.

Tomorrow: Steve's Birthday and the Magic Kingdom!

High Points: The wonderful cast member in Animal Kingdom and lunch at Wolfgang Puck
Low Points: The way the weather seemed to turn cold then hot then back to cold. (I thought the weather in New England was unpredictable)
