We are kindred "been sick at Disney" spirits. I thought we had it bad until I read your story. I am so sorry to hear about how rough you guys had it. I have been referring to our time in Disney as "sick leave" rather than vacation. :rolleyes:

Anyhow, I think you deserve a medal plus a vacation - alone! --one of those pampering spa types of vacations that moms never get. :smooth:

WOW. This "vacation sickness" must've been going around. We arrived on 12/12 and DS1 decided to get sick. On 12/13 DS4 was sick as well.

Sorry you were sick most of the time :(

It does seem that you made the most of it though.

I know I said I would finish up this week. Well that was before my computer crashed, followed almost immediately by hubby's new laptop. Oh, and did I mention that after my computer crashed, I typed the complete last day trip report on Dh's laptop, spell checked it and got it all ready to transfer the next morning to the DIS? Along came a software that "glitched" with windows xp and down went the laptop, taking my hard work with it.

We have limited ability with the laptop right now, waiting for quick restore discs to come in to re-install all the programming. The other computer is worse off. As soon as one of them are feeling 100%, I will get back in there and do it again.

I am hoping this will conclude this family's bad luck for a while.:wave:

To those of you who enjoyed my reports and didn't condemn me for trying to make the most out of our vacation while sick, I am sorry to inform you that I will not be finishing the report. In fact I have deleted the content of Days 4 and 5.

It only takes a few rotten apples to spoil the whole bunch and those wrotten apples over at the DB board <a href='*******************************************ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_1_111.gif' border=0></a>are real stinkers.

Apparently some members of these boards feel the need to flame and put down llebrekniT.

Why they had to do this, I don't know!

She seems like a wonderful woman and I enjoyed reading her reports. I think she did nothing wrong.

Thanks everybody, it helps so much to see people cheer me on. I may change my mind at some point and write up that last day. Right now, I'm on-guard and suspicious that everything I say will be used against me on the Debate Board.

In my defense, I wouldn't change anything about how we handled our illness. We stayed in bed ALOT, maybe that didn't come across in my report. Yes, we had the nerve to leave our room and try to enjoy a little bit of our vacation, as the kids felt like it and as their symptoms improved. That was, in fact, our doctors orders and advice to us. I love my children dearly and if anything tend to go overboard in their care. They have been very well disciplined in proper manners when sick and as I am a hand-cleaning freak, I really doubt that we got anyone sick. We were not in close contact with anyone. The night we went to the Polynesian for dinner seems to be the one that really made people mad at me. I thought I made it clear that Holly's temp. had come down and she had an ear infection and that it is perfectly normal for her to get a high temp. when she has an ear infection. Granted, I had never seen hers quite that high before, but it did respond to the meds. quickly as did she. If you could've seen her that night, participating in the hula lesson and coconut races. She's very resilient, as are most kids. I hope she never loses that as an adult.

I generally assume that everything we touch is covered in germs and the best thing you can do is keep your hands clean. Viruses that are airborne, well you can't do anything about that. Obviously we got sick from someone and that's just how it goes. I'm sure we weren't the only ones walking around the parks who weren't quite 100% healthy.

Anyone I have been made to feel like public enemy #1 and on top of that I'm apparently the worse mom ever.

I am changing the title of my thread in the hopes that we won't be singled out anymore for being sick on vacation.

Sorry for my lack of humor. I'm not feeling very funny about this situation. It has bothered me more than you can imagine. I would never want anyone to be as sick as we were on their vacation and the implication that I was an "insensitive jerk" and didn't care whether we spread it around was unfair.

I really enjoyed your report. I kept looking for the last day.
Don't go to the Debate Board! I read what some of them thought of teachers, and I will NEVER visit that board again.

Some people think that they are the only ones that know anything. Can't change that kind of attitude! So please take it with a grain of salt and ignore. You are a great mom and don't think otherwise.

I think those people need a life. Come on **** happens you got to make the best of these things, thats what you where doing.
Plus you can't go into every detail in these reports. I'm sure you didn't take your kids out when they where raging with high fever.

I remember when I was young. My dad's work was having a
picinic, it was the highlight of our lives. Food, fun and games.
My brother and I started to itch that morning. We hid it until we where at the picnic. Here we where with a whole bunch of kids spreading "Chicken Pox". We where bad, bad kids.

You say you already wrote the next installment. IM it to me I want to read it and I will not judge you. Who an I to judge.
You took lemons and made the lemonaide, itsn't that what they tell you to do. Oh no you should have hopped on the next plane,wait no can;t do that. Hide in your room. Now that sound like fun.

Count me as another person who was enjoying your trip reports and looking forward to the next one. I did go over to the Debate board to see why you were so upset that you not only aren't going to finish the reports, but deleted the completed ones. Sadly, what I read isn't unique to the DIS. It seems that the internet provides an anonymous way for some people to hide behind their computers and let their words fall where they may. Of course, even taking the internet out of the picture, some people are just rude and inconsiderate of other's feelings.

I know it's easy for me to say this, but try not to take what happened personally. You are obviously a person who loves her family very much and were trying to do the right thing on your vacation. I also thought it was nice to see a trip report for a visit that wasn't perfect. We laughed at Delswife and her family interactions but for some reason a few people felt the need to attack you. I'm sorry it happened and I hope it doesn't cause you to not post in the future.
