I am curious what one thing or small group of things would you buy with $20? I would have to say for me it would be a few small things:

1 Mickey Ice Cream Bar
1 Turkey Leg
1 Hot Dog
1 Soft Serve Ice Cream in Tomorrowland.
NOT ALL AT ONE TIME.

Can you tell I am HUNGRY right now!

If it was to be NON-FOOD, I would have to say a traditional
T-Shirt! I always have to get a new shirt.

I would love to give my daughter some better tips, what idea's do
you guys have.

I have to qualify my answer by saying that unfortunately I have not been to WDW since I was a child (but can't wait to take my DS next year - it's going to be SO amazing) so I don't know if my answer is even available still and if it is more than $20 now, but I would buy mouse ears with his name embroidered on the front.

They still sell the mouse ears, in the Chappeau on Main Street. They are $6 per ear hat, and the embroidery is free.

Me, $20 hummmm.... I'd have to say fudge and rice krispee treats from Main Street Bakery. It truly is the best!!!!!

A photo from the main st. photographers of our group or myself (in this case your daughter) in front of the castle - she will like being able to view the photos and pick one out - about $12.00 last I heard...maybe a pin with the leftover money.

A Dole Whip at the MK
A Pressed Penny book and then what ever is left over, collect the pennies. We had a such a fun time finding different ones. One good way to travel around and see the resorts.:D

I would get a CD of park music...I did the unthinkable with mine.....took it out of my car CD player, put it on top of my car while I got DS2 out of carseat, went inside, forgot about it....until I drove off the next day and it flew off my car. Luckily I found it, but half of the songs won't play now cause they're scratched. :(

I vote for:

Mickey Ears: $7.50 w tax
Disney Photo: $14.00 w tax

So she needs another $1.50... I say get the ears and then take the picture on Mainstreet... :earsgirl:

Or another option,

Mickey Ears, Turkey Leg, Frozen Lemonade... yum, to sit and watch parade with! This option still leaves about 5$ to spend elsewhere, maybe on pennies?

Or Park Music Cd (brings back tons of memories)
Or Shirt (especially if your from far away, everyone will ask about her trip when she wears it)
Or Wait and see what tickles her fancy, Disney has sooooo much to choose from, then again if she doesn't have an idea it may just take all day to shop...lol, I know I could!

Either way, have fun and tell her to enjoy herself! :Pinkbounc

A new WDW hat - whatever's on sale on Main Street ($9 for my last one). A chocolate chip cookie from Seashore Sweets ($2.50). A game at Shrunken Ned's Junior Jungle Boats ($1). I'd blow the rest on sushi at Tempura Kiku at Japan in Epcot.

Len--Where is the Shrunken Ned's Junior Jungle Boats game?? For a $1 that must be the best deal in all of WDW.

Probably Lotus Blossom Cafe. Or...a HM souvie if there was something new at MK...or a Rolie Polie Olie toy for DD1 at MGM (can I still call it that?)...two rolls of film at AK...or pins at DTD...better make that more than 20, and let me know which park I should spend it in!

Hey swilphil,

Shrunken Ned's Junior Jungle Boats is a coin-operated attraction outside the exit to Jungle Cruise in Adventureland. You're in command of a motorized jungle boat floating in a fairly large pond, and have to navigate through a series of obstacles. You control the boats by turning a large wooden ship's wheel. Motor sounds are piped in from speakers.

It takes a fair amount of practice to be able to navigate the ship properly. And some of the obstacles are neat. Going through a tight wicket-like barrier causes flames to shoot out of a torch (I think it's a torch - it's been a few weeks since I've played).

I've blown a fair amount of money here over the years, and find the game inexplicably addictive. Perhaps it's one of the few truly interactive things I do in WDW; most everything else is just sitting and watching shows or attractions. This "hands-on" theory also helps explain the appeal of Buzz Lightyear and similar attractions. I've heard that WDI is actively researching ways to make the park more interactive and personalized. A quick search of the U.S. patent office will show you some of their ideas. But I digress.

First I'd purchase Safari Mickey Ears at AK, and then I'd walk over to the Dino Diner for a Root Beer Float. Yummy!

No offense, but when I saw the topic I couldn't help but laugh. I mean seriously Disney is so overpriced you could probably get a candy bar and that is it. That is the one area where Disney gets ya. I would probably get like a model of the ride I liked most like I have the test track car model and the rockin roller coaster model. That way I can just look at it and remember the great times.

Forget everything I said already-can I use the 20. as a partial deposit on the first night of my next trip? I would hand the cash right over to the front desk CM! Never made new ressies for next trip while still at WDW- that would be so amazingly great I think I would fall over and hit my head....then I would wake up.....

Hope this doesn't sound sarcastic but..... WHAT CAVE HAVE YOU BEEN LIVING IN?? (ha, ha:p ) Just kidding. THere are several posts around here about the pressed pennies. www.allearsnet.com has a very extensive list of the different pennies and where they are available, all through the parks and resorts. My kids got VERY into it during our last visit. It was like a treasure hunt, trying to find different machines. Finding a few is an inexpensive souveniour, but my kids each filled a book and then some.... gets a bit pricey. But my kids were a bit intimidated by many of the rides during our first visit and this was one of the things that they looked forward to each day. So it was well worth it in my opinion. This time around we will be heading over to All Star Movies to make sure we get a Buzz Lightyear penny for DS... other than that we will just wing it and get them where ever we find them. One of the tips around is to be sure to use pre-1982 pennies (as they are made with more zinc after that date and don't press as well). I poured through a bucket of change, picked out every pre-82 I could find, soaked them in vinegar for a few days to shine them up, washed and dried them, and they are bagged up and ready go to for our next trip. Somewhere I read the suggestion that you can carry them in an mini M&M tube... stack them two quarters then one penny, then repeat. I got my tubes at the local movie theater. I saw two that were being thrown away, brought them home, put them on the top rack of the dishwasher to clean them, and they are also ready to go! Hope this helps!! ...............P

My DH's answer - a haircut at the MK barbershop! It usually runs around $18 with tip.

Since you said it was for your DD, I would suggest a pair of Mickey head Icon birthstone earrings. I bought a pair for my DD at the WL gift shop - they had all birthstones. (providing she has pierced ears). You didn't say how old your DD was, but what about some cute hair accessories (hair ties, barrettes, clips etc). They even had cute princess luggage tags.

My DD is 5 and loves the back scratcher she purchased on our last trip.

Hope this helps a little.
