Grrr! (MAD) How the heck are you supposed to know???

We were at Disney World last week, and attended the MVMCP on both Nov 30th, and again on Dec 2nd. Had a great time, loved the parade, and everything about the Party. Bought souvenirs, which have a really cute logo this year for the MVMCP. Long-sleeved t-shirts, coffee cups, hooded sweat jackets, lots of new logo items that they didn't have last year for the MVMCP.

BUT - I didn't find out until TODAY, after I'm back home for 2 days, that THERE WAS A MVMCP PIN FOR ANNUAL PASSHOLDERS ONLY!!! DANGIT, I am mad. We are AP holders, and pin collectors (hoarders, not traders, LOL) and would have lOVED to have this pin. It's so cute! Dangles and all. But how in the heck are you supposed to know about this pin? And for that matter, how in the heck are you supposed to know about the regular pins that are for sale to everyone? The cashiers keep them behind the counter, and only show them to you if you ask for them! We wouldn't have known about them if it weren't for the internet. And even WITH the internet, we didn't know about the exclusive PASSHOLDER MVMCP pin that was available on the first night of the Party.

Why are they so "secretive" about the pins??? And why, when we asked for the regular pins, don't the CM's say, "Are you an Annual Passholder? If you are, there is a special pin available to you tonight as well!" This just makes me so mad!!!

Do you think if I called Disney Merchandising and could somehow prove we were in attendance on that night, I could buy the pins through them? I'm going to be calling them to find that out! Are they open on weekends, or do I have to wait until Monday?

i think they are open on weekends. it is worth a try. are the AP only for the first night of the party or are they available every night? thanks:tongue:

They usually have the AP pins at Exposition Hall, Pin Central at Epcot, the hat at MGM. They have a frame with LE pins displayed in it at the cash register. I always ask if there are any AP pins available.

Why do they only have the AP holder's pins available for the first night of the party?

DebbieB, yes thank you for those websites, but they are not owned/run by Disney, you know? It just seems like Disney isn't doing a very good job of letting AP holders know what's out there for them.

I called Merchandising this morning. No way for them to get me one, Eric told me. They are exclusive to the MK park.

We'll be AP holders during our next trip. We'll go to MVMCP on the 18th. Will there be MVMCP AP pins available then? Where can we get them?

Annie, thank you so much! I am just bowled over by the kindness of DISers. In fact "disney queen" wrote me last night offering to do the same, and I have accepted her offer. I thank you, though, for your kindness and generosity as well.

TreeofLife, this is what the dizpins website says about the pins - I just read it last night:

If you are an Annual Passholder, a special pin will be released just for you on November 30.

So I guess if there are any left, it will be available on later dates as well. Just guessing, tho.
