I am sure that the signatures of a bunch of internet nerds will cause him to quit ;)

Of course it wont, but if we get 1,500 signatures or over, the petition will be sent to his office.

I don't think wdwguide meant any offense.

I do agree, 7th dwarf, that if one wants to help, petitions aren't going to do any harm, and just might help, if only a tad.

I think you misunderstood me. First of all, note the ;) smilie that ended my post, indicating sarcasm. Secondly, I was born long after Walt Disney died, but I do miss his determination and vision, and his complete crossing of political boundaries - he was very conservative and a most lunatic liberal in one person, something that you rarely find in today's polarized society.

That said, petitionsonline is more of a thing to make yourself feel good about an issue than anything else. I don't know much about the procedures of public companies, but AFAIK they tend to only listen to their own major stockholders and customers, and those are seeing that Disney just set a world record with a $3 billion annual box office and think the company is turning around. The weight the opinions of a few thousand net nerds pales in comparison (and some probably signed the petition multiple times anyway).

FYI According to Todays WSJ the internet support is what Roy and Gold are counting on!

Just wanted to add that the original Letter of Support for Roy petition is now open to EVERYONE, not just animators.

Over 2300 people have signed so far, including Roy himself and several other big names.

As long as the company makes money and the profits keep rolling in, it's not going to happen.
