There's a story going around that Jennifer Tilly (Madame Leota in the HM movie) went on an interview show and claimed that it's written into her contract that if the movie's a hit, her visage will replace that of Leota in the Haunted Mansion ride.

Is this one of those rumors that rears its ugly head every so often? I'd hope they don't do anything to the HM to bring it in line with the movie - the ride's a lot better than the movie. After all, Pirates of the Caribbean was a huge hit and Johnny Depp hasn't turned up in the ride yet.

The only thing I've seen is this little blurb that is supposed to have come from TV Guide: http://www.countingdown.com/movies/457220/news?item_id=2938216

I sure hope that IF she said this that she was just running her mouth and that Disney never agreed to this. But then WOM isn't so hot for the Haunted Mansion so who knows if it will be a hit?

Actually, there probably is something in her contract that would allow her image and voice to be used in the attraction. The fallout of the many lawsuits of entertainers from the "golden age of Hollywood" suing for royalties when their work is used in a current project (like a DVD release of an old TV show, a CD with music from an old movie), is that current contracts include some sort of "permission for future use" clause.

But that doesn't mean that Disney will use her in the HM.
