I can't believe this and I hope it changes, but Accuweather has the weather for cast for 12/5-12/10 as being cloudy, windy, and rainy almost everyday. This has changed since yesterday. I really hope they update this and we will not get any rain. I know a lot of people on here are going to the world during this time and I wanted to give a heads up!!

SOMEONE PLEASE SPRINKLE SOME PIXIE DUST FOR SOME NICE WEATHER!!!!

Say it isn't so!!?? ;(

Well, over a week away and maybe the weather will change for the good.....like Mark Twain said about our weather back up here in New England....

Just wait a minute and it will change!!

I know. I wish it wasn't so. I was so excited about a rain free forecast when I first starting checking my days. I really hope they will change the forecast and we will get some great weather. They have changed the forecast 3 times in 3 days so maybe they will get a better one by next week!!

:bounce: Hoping for a really good forecast!! :bounce:

Don't worry about it.Those forescasts change daily!(I know,I've tracked them for past trips and found they're no more accurate then a guess!)Something to think about though:Two years ago we went to the MK on a Tuesday. It was "sprinkling" at opening time.It was the best day at the MK we have ever had! Everything was a walk on ALL DAY,even though it cleared up nicely by mid morning.Wear a poncho, bring an umbrella, there is a bright side:) princess: princess: princess:

You know I never worry about the weather before a Disney trip. You can't change it and you are going to have fun no matter what happens. Sometimes it works out for the better, because a little overcast sprinkles clears out the parks. So why waste needless energy over something you have no control over?

DisneyFan79
11-26-2003, 09:18 AM
I suppose that is a good outlook. I did order mickey umbrellas for the ladies going with us. One of them said if she takes the umbrella though it won't rain.

(Note to self. Make sure friend is taking umbrella!!)

Thanks for the responses. I am sure everything will be GREAT and WONDERFUL!!:)

How can they possibly predict the weather that far in advance!

If they are anything like our forecasts they are completely wrong.

Besides.......what can you do about it?

It is over a week away, many things can change.

I've been watching the forcast for the same week and it was STRESSING me out!!!!:earseek: I swear, it changes everyday. Friday the 5th has gone from 75 to 85 to 71 and now rain. Personally, I think they're just guessing!

I agree with the others....just pack your poncho and look forward to a great time, no matter what the weather!! :earsboy:

I'm with you too! I know you can't believe it this early but it's too tempting to check it! Weather.com has up to the 5th, they are showing 78 and partly cloudy for the 5th.

We went last week and up until a few days before we left they had rain on 3 days with low 70s. We has sun every one of those day with high around80. Stick with weather.com.

Well, atleast we have the opportunity to plan now. Bring your sweat shirts and rain ponchos!

It is all depending on what the front that they are watching does. I know that I'm not talking about the same week but for this weekend the forecast changes almost hourly. Monday the front was coming through tonight, yesterday it was Thursday and now they are saying Friday morning. I know that they are prediciting 45 for lows and 71 for highs. But then again these fronts seem to stall out around the pan handle half the time.

Poncho's already packed and looking forward to a great vacation! Keep in mind that the parks will be less crowded with a rainy forecast!

Intellicast says 78 and sunny:) $ wunderground has a similar forecast Take the long range forecasts with a grain of salt they aren't very accurate and that goes big time for Florida where the weather can change in 10 mins. When we were there in September the hurricane that was supposed to make it rain all day 9/5 caused about 15 mins of rain then the sun was out all day. Like I said Florida weather is tough to predict go by the historical and you'll have a better idea

Don't sweat it! Last year, we checked the 2-week forecast as soon as we could. Rain. Rain. Rain. Until the night before the wedding, that was the forecast. Guess what? It was an absolutely gorgeous day - barely a cloud in the sky!

DH relies on forecasts for work, and he doesn't trust them more than one day out, if that. (It is rather freaky to be married to someone who actually understands all the symbols on weather maps, btw.)

I wouldn't sweat it. Forecasts that far out are not very accurate at all. I don't rely on anything more than two days out to make plans.

I'm not worried in the least and I don't let the extended weather forecast websites bother me.

I do check right before I leave to make sure it won't be FREEZING for packing purposes but that's it.

Not much you can do about it so why get all stressed and upset. Why start off your vacation that way?

You know there is a joke that comes to mind:

There are only two professions that you can lie 7 days a week and still get away with it.

Being a lawyer and being a weather man.

Needless to say the weather people are pretty good these days but I don't see how they can accurately forcast the weather out over 14 days.

We will be there at this time as well. I use Weather.com and they only show through the 6th.

Hopefully alot will change.

Please don't take offense to the joke above it is only a joke and not meant to offend anyone.

that you don't type in just "Orlando" and not add "FL". I didn't notice one day and ended up with the forecast for Orlando, WV!!!! I almost DIED when I saw 40's and cloudy!!!!!!
I just checked accuweather and weather.com and both are showing SUNSHINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I almost had a coronary!!!!

I searched Orlando and it said the day we were supposed to go to Typhoon Lagoon that it was a "high of 38 with snow"!!!

Thankfully, I came to this thread and saw the Orlando, WV vs FL tip and WHEW! I was in the wrong city!! :)

Only a high of 69 that day, so I'm praying Orlando will get a little heat wave as the dates get closer...but, still - better than 30s with snow!

Last year when we went around the same dates it rained almost every day for a spell. It was sunny on the day that we we're flying home.

That did not stop our fun though. We did everything that we wanted to-just got a little bit wet.

Enjoy your trip! :sunny:

Weather.com shows 12/6 as 78 and PC. Accuweather shows 65 and sunny. Big difference. Accuweather took the rain out for the week but temps only 65 to 72. I've noticed in the past that the forecast accuweather posts in the morning is usually very different than the one at night. I think they have 2 different staffs and they forecast very different.

I just looked at Accuweather and there is no rain forecasted for that time period. And warm temps!

I just wanted to tell you that you are going to LOVE Wilderness Lodge. We split our stay between CSR and WL in May and it was great. I was sad to leave CSR, but not for long!

I am hoping for a good AP rate (soon please) for my January trip.

Have fun.

I am going to assume your countdown is inaccurate, then? ;)

I am definitely packing capris and the birkenstocks (with painted piggies). The girls will not be comfy in sandals - so tennies for them - but we are packing their capris and cropped pants as well.

I'd say it depends on how comfy your sandals are...for extended walking. Tevas or the like would be fine - well broken in birkis will be good, I'd assume...but other than that I'd stick to an bootie sock (the kind you can't see) and tennies like Keds or the like. :)

I am doing the single digit dance. I don't think reality has set in yet though. I have started packing. We planned this trip over a year ago and it doesn't seem possible it is extacly one week from today.

PigPen: I can't wait to get to the WL. You know when we were at CSR back in May, we went and had dinner at Whispering Canyon. I thought the place was awesome without stepping a foot in a room. I can't wait to see it all dressed up for the holidays. Now if I can get pixie dust on the small crowds I will be doing wonderful.

Hope everyone has a GREAT trip. I will have my lime green ribbons on my camera bag. Don't forget to come up and introduce yourself!!:)

Even if it's warm during the day, it can cool off at night. I remember sitting at the CP last year and wishing I had the light winter jacket that was sitting in the car in the airport parking lot. I had just brought a light quilted jacket, I was also wearing a sweatshirt & jeans. Luckily I did throw my gloves into the bag. Be prepared just in case!

I'm going to be taking capris and lots of short sleeved shirts as well. I'll also take a few sweatshirts and jeans. Someone suggested taking warmer clothes and storing them in a locker just in case. I think I'll do that for the whole family.

I will be sending pixie dust your way for good weather!
I was there Dec. 7 -15, last year and it POURED day and night almost the whole time. We had about two days were it did not rain. We had 4 kids with us, one in a stroller. We did not let the rain stop us though. Just used a lot of ponchos. I bought them before I left because I like the men's size. I find it to be bigger and they cover the arms more than the ones you can buy at the parks. It poured so hard they had to cancel Mickeys x-mas parade one night. Luckily it was not the night I was there. But they did let those people back on another night.

Have a good time reguardless of the weather!!!!
