Right now everything is 10-30% off... and I'm pretty sure the prices will drop some more soon...

So for any of you with kids - infants to size 16 - you can probably get some good deals.

(I work at KRU myself, so I just thought I'd let you all know)

Yes, except for the combo stores (the stores with Toys R Us/Kids R Us combined)... all full sized stores are closing.

The Kids R Us by us closed almost 2 years ago. I didn't realize there were any sole standing stores still left. When they closed by us. The higher the % went up, they didn't really have much to offer. As they just sent all the "newer" stock over to the new locations.:(

i just went to ours the other day..and got 5 pair of tennis shoes for my kids..all nikes and sketchers...raincoats and a couple of little odds and ends for 112 bucks...that is great considering the shoes were regularly like 40 bucks each......

I was in mine last week and saw the sign. Have they already started a % off the marked prices? Or are they waiting till after Christmas for that?
Thanks.

WOW! In a way, it's great (I don't like to see people lose their jobs, though)...my 2 year old needs some new clothes and other things.

My MIL's friend who lives in CT was up for a visit this weekend, and said that the one nearest her, she lives in New Haven, closed last week.

here's the info I found on kidsrus.com

Closing of Freestanding Kids "R" Us and Imaginarium Stores

The company plans to close the 146 freestanding Kids "R" Us and the 36 freestanding Imaginarium stores as well as 3 distribution centers that support these stores. The majority of these facilities are expected to close on or before January 31, 2004. These actions are expected to generate significant cash flow in 2003 and to increase free cash flow in 2004 and beyond. In addition, these actions are expected to yield improvements in operating earnings of approximately $8 million in 2004 and approximately $20 million annually thereafter.

I'd say by reading this, it can happen any time between now and 1-31-04.

I bought some KRU gift cards on Hotwire and saved an additional 20%! (Buy a $25 card and get $5 refunded at end of month.) So, that makes the 10%-30% savings 18% - 44%...not bad!
(I joined Hotwire to order WDW Meal Vouchers and Theme Park tickets...I'm taking full advantage of the giftcards to do some holiday shopping and give as gifts!)
