Flying Fish dinner: tuna tartar is out of this world. muscles appetizer was OK but not great. Had excellent snapper and tuna entrees. Banana napolean was to die for. Great service. A.
Kona Cafe dinner: really hated the sticky wings everyone here raves about. Yes the sauce was good, but the chicken was reheated and I could taste that. Yuk. Entrees: Tuna was great; Mahi was great; pasta with shrimp was pretty good. The creme brulee we had for desert had granulated sugar on top which had not been fully caremelized-awful. we sent it back. Service was extremely slow. B.
Artists Point: This was a new one for us. I had the buffalo steak-absolutely perfect and fork tender and hubbie had the cedar planked salmon-he loved it. Service was uneven. A-

Other places we ate:
Boma: great for dinner. A-. pretty good for breakfast. B.
Akershus: Loved it. A-
Wolfgang Puck: very good. B+
Plaza restaurant: very slow service. good sandwiches and ice cream. B.
CRT breakfast: Food-C+. Character Interaction-A.
Crystal Palace breakfast: Food:B+. Character interaction:A-.

Overall, we had a great time and never had a bad meal (even though that Kona desert was very dissapointing:( ) I will be happy to answer anyone's questions.

Well since I'm in between loads:
CRT: My main problem wiith the food is that it is so greasy. We got a greasy potato and cheese casserole (the potatoes were not quite done-a litlle too crispy for my taste); a deep-fried danish (I know people love these, but I couldn't stomach all that oil); bacon (underdone); sausage (not bad but again-very greasy); scrambled eggs which were extremely dried out (I really think these are made from powder); and really awful coffee (instant, I think).
My husband wouldn't touch this stuff and had the "healthy choice" instead. This was granola and yogurt with caremelized bananas on top. He said this was fine (but I do not like granola).
On the plus side, the meal starts off with pastries (very good) and fruit (fresh) and they will refill them as many times as you ask. So, we asked and loaded up on the fruit and pasties and were fine. The children get french toast sticks (again I found them greasy).
The princesses, however, are great-especially with the children. But adults don't feel left out either. Service was quick and efficient.
Akershus: I love this place. The cold buffet is wonderful. There are 3 kinds of cold cuts; meat salad; fish salad;potato salad; tomato salad; different cheeses (I love the brown goat cheese);shrimp salad; smoked salmon;smoked trout; 6 types of herring; and about a million other things I forgot. Then you get a hot entree. The servings are very small but you can order as many as you like. We tried the mushroom pasta, which was marvelous; the grilled salmon was also very good; my trout was a little unusual, but I liked it (it was served over pickles and had a briny taste which I liked); and a lamb stew which was wonderful. We had rutabaga mash and meatballs on the side. Everything was great. Service was prompt but not particularly friendly, which is fine by me.

I disagree with my lovely and usually always correct wife. I found the service at Akershus to be very friendly. She was too busy with the goat cheese and shrimp salad for interaction with the cast members. Remember the serviers are college kids on a one-year rotation from their home country. BTW the herring was my absolute favorite. I can eat that all day long!

Just my $0.02

I have to agree with you with regards to Restaurant AKershus. We ate there rescently and thoroughly enjoyed it. There was lots to chose from on the cold buffet and the hot food that we sampled was very good too. Service was good and friendly. My best friend is Norwegian thereby I have sampled many Norwegian dishes. I found the ones in Akershus to be very similar to the ones my friend makes.

Enjoyed the reviews--especially Kona, where I've yet to have dinner.

I'm so glad to read that Akershus still has the meat salad on the menu! As odd as it sounds, I love the stuff. Thanks for the reviews!
