I weigh myself everyday. For me, it is a tool to keep me on track. When I weighed myself yesterday I was down for a total of 14 pounds. However, when I weighed myself today which is my official weigh-in/post day it only said a total loss of 12.5!

I am so frustrated!!! However, I posted the smaller of the losses.
I'm sure it has to do with salt/water or something...but from one day???

Does this happen to anyone else?

Happens all the time. That's why you really should only weigh in once a week at the same time. I, too, peak at the scale every day. Helps me to try and stay on track :D

Count me in!! I peek at the scale daily but I only count Sunday as my official weigh-in and measure day. It helps me see the big trends and helps me keep my sanity!

Happens to me too. It does get frustrating, so I am really trying NOT to peak everyday.

It happens to me too. That is why I only weigh myself once a week. I don't see the point in putting myself through the ups and downs of day to day weight loss and gain.

Ditto for me too. I know in my head I shouldn't but it keeps me in check so I still do it. But I only count Tuesday as my official weigh in day.

It would be really hard to gain a pound in a half in a day, that would be a lot of calories you would have to consume. A lot of factors contribute to the fluctuation, water and salt being part of it.

Okay i admit it it's happened here too. I still weight everyday. But instead of weighing in on sundays like i use too i have found from weighting in everyday that fridays tend to be my lowest avg weight in day so guess what? I swicthed to fridays. Now if i am close to a new clippee and i weight enough to grab a new clippee on tuesday say--- well don't think i won't come sport it. Cause for that single day i was ----bls and i earned it and that keeps me motivated to stay low and keep on going. Everyone has there own way of keeping motivated and for me getting on the scales everyday is mine it works for me. You may just want to pay attention to your lowest days and maybe move your weight in day. Best Wishes Tammy

Partyofsix, my weigh-in day is Thursday, but I always weigh on Friday also and I'm ALWAYS at least a pound lighter on Friday. Isn't that just strange??!! I guess I should also change my weigh-in day to Friday. ;)

I am a several times a day weigher myself. I think you either have to be the type of person that can let the ups and downs from day to day roll off your back, or it's not a good idea. I do sometimes, when I see something I don't want to see get sad, down or upset, but usually it makes me correct any bad habits that I have been doing that have gotten me into this problem. I really think it gives me a great insight to how my body reacts to certain foods, times of the month, times of the day and certain situations. I can almost rely on them now.

If you are like me on your weigh in day you drink tons more water and eat below points..so of course you weigh less the next day. I'm trying to convince myself that EVERYDAY is WI so I drink all that water all the time.

Back in the olden days, when I weighed myself everyday, I gained 12 pounds overnight once. It was that mean old bloat fairy leaving me gifts even back then.

I finally stopped weighing myself, everyday. I couldn't take the frustration anymore. Now I focus on inches lost more than pounds lost.

I also used to weigh myself everyday, but now it is just once a week...it is too frustrating sometimes to see a gain by weighing each day...

I agree that it isn't true weight gain like that from one day to the next. Maybe if it is too frustrating for you to be weighing each day, choose an actual WI day and then do a sneak WI about half way through your week. This way you'll know if you are on track and you feel that day to day frustration.
