View Full Version : Just back-Wolfgang Puck Express/Beaches N' Cream-sort of

Had a lot of great food in the lounge at YC Concierge.

I was amazed on how little we spent on food this trip. We enjoy a good meal and had a few big meals planned but we usually just wanted to stay in at night and have something light.

Where we ate:

Wolfgang Puck Express-DTD

Great food, very fresh and fast. I had the chicken pesto sandwich as I love pesto sauce. My children split a turkey sandwich-I asked for it without the special mayo or capers but they forgot to leave these off. DH just nibbled on ours. The fries here were very good and hot-they sprinkle some sort of herbs on them. I neglected to use my DVC discount here so don't forget to use it if you have it. The total was around $30. I

found that ordering a seperate sandwich or entree at a lot of places for DS and DD just didn't make sense. I ordered one thing for them at quite a few places and there was always food left over. If they said they wanted an entire sandwich then they got it. I just kept looking at unfinished plates of food and finally caught on to the idea of not ordering so much.

Crews Cup Lounge at the YC. A wonderful lunch!! Started at Beaches N' Cream but ended up here.

We put our name in at Beaches N' Cream for lunch and they weren't busy at all. I told the host that we would gladly wait as long as it took for a booth so we could just enjoy ourselves. She said no problem and gave us a pager. We would just enjoy looking at SAB until it was our turn. 15 minutes later a family walked up and asked if there were any booths available so they could have lunch here. She said she thought there were and she checked and came back out and seated them at a booth. She then came back out, paged us and seated us at a table.

The table was very small and we decided this was just not going to work and decided to try something else so we left. We tried for the YC Galley but they were closing and the CM escorted us to the lounge and told us lunch was available there. I must say that our lunch was wonderful. There were maybe 4 other people total in the lounge. It was very relaxed and cozy. We were seated in a booth. :teeth: and our children were brought children's menus and crayons.

I had a great cheeseburger and so did my DD and DS. DH had the tuna salad wrap. Everything was fresh. Our drinks were refilled before we could empty them and we spent a good hour and a half enjoying lunch.

For dessert, DS and DD had the white chocolate Mickey puzzle that you could decorate with edible paint. They each had one and spent a lot of time painting their puzzles. Each one came with a cupcake and brownie.

I would eat here again any day. It was so relaxing and quiet. The total was around $70.00

Thanks for the great reviews- I think that's the first time I've heard something bad about Beaches and Cream. I am so sorry that happened to you, but you got to discover someplace new!

That sounds like a really neat lunch at the Galley, particularly the dessert for the kids! I'd love to try it, but why was your lunch $70?! That sounds like so much money to me!

We tried the Galley first and they were closed so they took us over to the Crew's Cup Lounge-sp?.

It was wonderful.

I might be off on the $70.00. I think the kid's burgers were about $6.00 a peice. DH's was $10 and mine was also. I think the desserts were $7.00 a peice and I also had dessert-passion fruit mousse. YUM. We left a good tip because we had great service.

I think we will make sure to stop here again if we go back to the YC.

YCG is one of our favorite lunch places (I think it's one of those hidden gems). I had just found out they close at 2 pm for lunch, but didn't know they would serve lunch in the lounge. That's great to know!

Sorry about your experience at B&C, I would have been quite annoyed if that happened to us. We do like to eat there because they're ice cream is quite good:p, but in all honesty I think the service can sometimes be a little lacking.

I think YCG has really good service and they are quite friendly. The food at YCG is also a little better quality, so you made a great choice!

For ice cream I'd go for B&C, but for lunch YCG is better. You can always take out ice cream at B&C after having lunch at Y&C unless you have one of YCG's yummy desserts instead!:teeth:

How does B&C compare with the Plaza in MK for ice cream?

Our experience at B&C was pretty poor. We had come back from the cruise for a day stop over. We stopped in to B&C, which was busy so we had to wait and finally got a seat at the counter which I thought would be fun.

Despite being close to the waitress our food sat on the counter for some time. I would have asked for it had I known it was ours. She wasn't listening very closely to our orders so my daughters had cheese (she's lactose intolerant) So she had to wait for another to be cooked. We were right by the grill which wasn't the most magical seat in the place.

All this for a $50 lunch tab for burgers, fries and malts. I won't be hurrying back. Our first experience was much better. This was our second visit. For the money we could have done much better.

My son and I had a very early dinner at Crew's Cup on our last trip. At 5 or 6pm the menu changed to appetizers only but we made it in time to order a burger and a sandwich. Very good food and good service in a nice quiet setting. I don't think I'll ever try to do B&C again.

Crew's Cup is adjacent to Yachtsman's Steakhouse BTW.

floridafamily, what time do you think YCG closed for lunch? Although Crew's Cup had a more limited menu, I thought it was great!

Hey KIS honestly...

We actually had ice cream at the Plaza for the first time this trip and I really have to say it was better there, it was superb. That ice cream was just so damn good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:hyper:

Beaches and Cream was good but the PLAZA rules!!!:p :p

I have to agree with you, the service isn't the greatest at Beaches and Cream and I don't know why. We sat at the counter back in May and the service was just ok. They seem to be really rushed and busy even though the meal takes longer than it should to come out even when it's not that busy. Maybe they're understaffed??

So, which restaurant had the Mickey puzzle for dessert? I'm a little confused whether is was the Galley or the lounge (Crew's Cup, is it?) I definitely want to try it on our December trip. Can you make p.s.?

The Galley offers the puzzle but our server said we could order it the lounge.

I believe the Galley closes at 2. We walked in because we didn't know they were closed and one of the CM's was nice enough to walk us over to the lounge and seat us in a booth.

My chidren realy enjoyed the puzzle. You can also order it from in-room dining.
