Compensation for Transfer of Points

I will need 6 points to complete a ressie for 5/31/02 thru 6/8/02. I often see posts on the rent/trade board for members looking to give/receive a small number of points. I assume that all transactions for less than 8 points are transfers, yet transfers are officially supposed to involve no compensation. Is there any reason why I shouldn't post a request for 6 points? Do I mention the fact that I am willing to pay for them, or is that understood? Any guidance/past experiences would be appreciated.

We needed 2 points last year to complete a reservation. I just posted it on the DVC Rent/Trade Board. I even posted the range I was willing to pay for the points. When another DVC member and I agree upon the price and he had received my check, I gave him my account # and he called DVC MS and transferred the points to my account.

I had 3 points that I gave away a couple years ago. Sometimes you can find someone who, like me, had a couple extra in their holding account that would go to waste otherwise.
