Today's New York Times has a story about a young singer named Hayley Westenra. She is a 16-year-old from New Zealand. The article says she has a sweet, angelic soprano voice with a broad range. It also says her debut album has sold almost 300,000 copies in 7 weeks, putting it at the top of the British classical chart. The album features a reportire similar to what Charlotte would sing.
So, have you heard Hayley, and do you think she'll be as popular as Charlotte?
P.S. Hayley's album is called "Pure".

I am sure Hayley's album has been advertised on the television & I am sure I saw her on a lunch time programme. If it was her she has a very nice voice. ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

I just heard Hayley on Friday Night is Music Night. She has such a pretty voice. I think I like her better than Charlotte. :)

I have heard of her, She was interviewed by Frank Skinner ages ago. Her & her younger sister used to busk on the streets in New Zealand. Am not sure she likes the Charlotte Church comparison!

They have been trailing her albums on ITV for months. She does have a nice voice but I don't think she'll do well here so far from home.

Yes I have heard of her. She had an album out last year that did really well, my Mam wanted it for her birthday. She has just released her 2nd album lately, hence the publicity.
