I am steaming right now. I had seen that people had problems with Connections, so I chose Simple Escapes to buy Q & C vouchers. I got the vouchers no problem and called to cancel my membership. The guy I had gave me a really hard time about cancelling, but I was adamant and told him that I was not going to keep the membership and to cancel me. I also had thought that the offers of free gift cards were too good to pass up  so I joined Connections too. Well, I cancelled them at the same time. No problem with Connections, a very courteous woman gave me a cancellation number and I didn't have to go through the canned sales pitch. I didn't want to talk to Simple Escapes again, so I let it go. I had definitely cancelled, but no cancellation number had been given to me. Well, lo and behold, my next credit card statement comes in with the membership fee on it.

I called to see why they hadn't cancelled and I got the sales pitch all over again. I basically threatened that I would tell everyone I know not to join their club and that if they had a good product, they wouldn't need to use this high pressure tactic. He said he'd credit my account within two days.

Never again!

I didn't trust them to take care of this, so I called my credit card company and told them about it. They are putting a hold on the charge to make sure that the credit comes through. Thanks for the words of encouragement:)

Ugh! Don't you just hate that. I am glad that you called your cc company!

And that's the way you sometimes have to do it.

I called my credit card company after I had problems with Connections double-billing me... and told them specifically NOT to allow any charges from MWI Connections.

Lo & behold after I called to cancel, they tried to charge me for my 'renewal'... and were denied. I was so glad I called and told my credit card company.

:D
