Christmas Parade to be taped on...December 6th. That's right SATURDAY Dec 6th.

I have friends that work at WDW and they let me know it was being taped on that day. We haven't planned anything for that day so I think we will try to see them tape it.

I was there when they taped it the last 2 years, but didn't stay long because the MK was so crowded. It was also hard to get down Main Street because they had parts of it roped off.

I know the 3pm parade for MK is Share A Dream Come True until Dec. 20 when it changes to the Christmas Parade. I know there's a special showing of the Christmas parade for MVMCP nights.

Does this mean on Dec.6 at 3 pm there will be no regular parade?
Please explain. Will the special parade showing for Christmas be at a different time?

I was there (by accident) when they taped it a couple of years ago. They were just taping the beginning of the parade. They would do 2-3 minutes and then back everything up and do it again. They had ladders and cameras on Main Street so that they could get the opening. The CM that was helping with keeping people out of the way said that they would tape it over the course of several days, doing a different part every day. It was fun to watch for a few minutes, especially since so many of the characters were in it.

We are planning to go there our first night after spending the day at Epcot.

We were planning on getting there at 6 then take the train to Toontown and try to do Fantasyland, Toontown and some of Tommorrowland....

ARE WE CRAZY FOR DOING THIS?

Will we regret it. I wanted to see the park at night.

The parade taping is done during daylight hours only, it will not effect you at nighttime.

As for whether or not this means the Share a Dream Come True parade will not be shown, I'm not sure, but I imagine it's posssible that it may not run that day, depending on their shooting schedule.

What they are taping is the Disney Christmas parade that is shown on TV on Christmas morning.

I was there 2 years ago when they taped it. They started at 10:00am. Last year we were at WDW but didn't go to the taping but we went to MK that night for Spectromagic. Spectromatic and the fireworks had to all be backed up 1 hour because the taping went overtime. So it was an all day thing.

We've been there that past two years when they were taping in MK. We saw Regis and Kelly two years ago and John Reznick (Goo Goo Dolls sang song for Treasure Planet) taping last year.
We will be there again this year.
Anyone know when they will tape in the other parks?
For those that are worried about crowds...It wasn't that bad. It was actually kind of cool and hey you might be on TV!!!
We also saw Kelly Ripa's husband (Mark Consuelos Matteo on All My Children)and kids walking thru the park while Kelly was taping.

well I am going to be at WDW during the taping, and I am so glad I found out the date, because we never go to MK on Saturdays, but now..I am pretty sure we will go on Dec 6th, I would love to see them taping the Christmas morning parade! :)

They usually tape other segments throughout November and December although quite a bit of the footage from other parks is from years prior.

We spent 7 hrs on the curbs last year watching and waiting during the taping of the Christmas Special...It was incrediable...I'd do it again if I could but alas I won't be there until Dec 20th this year....There is always next year...

For anyone who has been there for the taping, if we wanted to grab a seat on the curb and watch some of it, what would be a good place?
