This is our first cruise. I have small children under age 6 and also am travelling with about 7 other family members all adults. I hope you'll understand if I don't post names and ages of everyone as I am a bit leery of posting a lot of personal information. But I am excited to talk about the cruise as we are all looking forward to going.
Have you picked shore excurions? Is there a time by which it is better to book them?
thanks!

I am sure you all will love the Disney Cruise like as much as the rest of us on here.
No,we haven't picked any shore excursions or have done any on our previous cruises on Disney. We plan on doing some excursions this time around. We will be going to coral world, snuba, and island tour of St Thomas. We will probably book them in October.

Hello everyone,
My family and I will be joining you on the Dec 11-18th Eastern. This will be our 2nd Disney cruise and 1st 7 day. Our 1st cruise was 3 day Halloween Wonder cruise back in 2002 . We loved it!

jhorner- my youngest daughter is named Joelle too! Great name!
jwann- do you still have the music from the sailaway party? I would love to work out to this as well. Is there any way you could PM me with the information on how I could get it? I would really appreicate it.:hyper:

Yes, where is Bonnie? Hope she is out enjoying her summer.
Maria - don't know for sure what snuba is - a combination of snorkle/scuba? Anyway, no, I won't be doing that. I enjoy touring the islands and seeing the sights.
Another month almost gone!

Hi everyone,
It looks like we are going to postpone our cruise till 2005. I've decided to teach full time this year and won't be able to take that time off in December. We are going to take a Disneyland/DCA/Knott's Berry Farm trip in October to tide us over. Good luck with your planning everyone. It was great conversing with you all. Have a GREAT cruise!
Disneyfan37
07-28-2004, 06:59 AM
DH and I are sorry to hear that as we were hoping to meet you as well as the others. We surely do understand. We will miss conversing with you.
We are going to Disneyland next year as that will be our vacation for that year which means we won't be cruising in 2005.Have you all been to Disneyland before? How did you like it?We went to the Disneyland Paris a couple of years back, and we thought it was better then WDW here in FL.Have fun when you go!

DH and I were saying at dinner that we could possibly meet at port side during the sailaway party. We usually go to deck ten as it isn't as crowded, but you all just decide and let us know.I know you and I will have caught up by then as I plan on meeting you at the parking lot<G>.
Hope you are having a great weekend!

Thank goodness! I didn't think I was in a race with anyone....
However, we plan on being at the terminal around 10:30.
DD & I will both have our DIS Board shirts on; along with our pins.
Port side is OK; but if we make it the starboard side we can wave at the CMs on the dock. Will go along with everyone else.
I checked the Farmer's Almanac and think sunset is around 5:30 that day. We have always had full sun when we sailed before. Should be interesting change. Has anyone else sailed in December? I'm curious about what they do holiday-wise on the ship.

Fran,Starboard side is perfect as that way we can wave to the CMS.This will be our first time sailing in December as well as first time sailing on the Magic.I am sure Disney will have the boat looking great for Christmas!I can't wait!
Anybody know why Disney Wonder left port an hour later today?I hope everything is okay there.
Jennifer and I are just joking.I confused you with her!Sorry! It sounds like we will all be arriving there about the same time.

This will be SO fun! This is our third cruise but our FIRST since joining a cruise meet thread. I can't beleive that we'll actually "know" people other than our family. THis will make the wait at port seem VERY short -- we'll be looking for the DIS buttons. I was curious, though. My DH is mostly a lurker and has never posted. Will you guys get a DIS button for your DH's??
P.S. Maria and "momto2dkids" did you get the CD's? I realized after I mailed them in a hurry that I never actually checked the CDs to see if they recorded! YIKES! Do they work? AND I forgot to write a title on them. If you want a list of the songs, let me know.

I don't have my DIS button yet. If you go on www.wdwinfo.com and click on DISboard. Look on the left menu for DIS store. Then you click on DIS stuff, I think, and then click on personalized buttons.

Does anyone know if there are going to be any special holiday type kids activities for the young ones in the kids clubs? I thought I would ask here first.
We are so excited to see all the holiday decorations on the ship. We always decorate our house and yard Decemember 1st because we just can't wait any longer to start to celebrate, so going on the cruise is going to add that much more to the celebration this year!!:cloud9:

Our family LOVES Christmas! I don't know if they will do anything special in the club/lab. The navigators on ***************** have an Eastern kids navigator from Dec. last year. There are no special activities listed BUT there ARE some on the adult navigators -- gingerbread house building, reading "Twas the Night Before Christmas", etc.
I think we are going to decorate right after Thanksgiving at our house!! Are you guys going to have your Christmas shopping BEFORE the cruise??? Yikes!! I better start now!
edit: sorry about the **** business. of course I typed in inkognitto's web site. pm me if you don't have it.

Yes, I have Barb's website. It is saved in my favorites. I have looked at the navigator's, but I don't think I've really noticed which month they were from. I willl go back and look more closely later today. Thank you for that hint. I went to her site last night to look at transportation from MCO to the port. I also like Dave's site.
I haven't even thought about Christmas shopping yet. Double YIKES! I guess I should get my rear in gear and start doing some, since I won't have that one week. My DH and I will probably do a little shopping in ports, try to find little stocking stuffers for the kids that will remind them of the islands and thus extend the whole cruise experience for all of us!!:hyper: ::yes:: :hyper:

Why can't people post the URL of other Disney sites on these boards? I notice all this ****** business. Why is that? It isn't like these boards are ownded by Disney. It seems rather childish.
What times does the boat for Dec 11 actually sail (what time do you have to be on board?). Some of our travel companions had the idea to drive 12 hours the same day of the departure. I think that is INSANE!
momto2dkids
08-05-2004, 01:21 PM
cruisenewbie2004-
I will try to answer your question, if I'm wrong someone can correct me. I believe the reason for the ****** is that this site is operated by Dreams Unlimited, a TA. Sometimes they block out the URL's of other sites that might be considered competitors in the TA business. Barb, AKA inkognitto, recently started her own TA business, so DU no longer allows her URL to be posted on these boards, though I believe she still is one of the Moderator's for the boards.
I believe the ship sets sail around 5pm. So I believe everyone would need to be on board around 4-4:30pm or so. I don't think I would ever consider driving that long( or anywhere near that long) the same day as departure. To many things could happen that could delay you and cause you to miss the ship. Too risky for me.
Hope this helps!

I understand now.
Yes, it does seem rather crazy to try to drive from SC to FL same day. I told them any number of possibilities could occur. There could be traffic, or car problems, they could get lost, or simply oversleep. I told them the ship waits for no one. We'll see. We plan to stay in the Radisson and simply have breakfast and take the 10:30am shuttle over and have a relaxed time. Not interested in arriving exhausted, hot and frazzled!

Hello Everyone! I've been busy and travelling for quite a while and haven't been on regularly at all. It's great to see that we have some more disers added to our cruise! I am sorry to read that Bonnie won't be joining us.
We finally made our flight reservations so now everything seems more "real". We'll be at WDW for a few days both before and after the cruise, 2 weeks total.
momto2dkids - Did I read correctly that your DD will be 10 on the cruise? (I read thru all the posts pretty fast and could have misread.) My DD will also be 10! We cruised last December and I don't remember any real Christmas or Holiday activities in the kids clubs. There were family activities though, like lighting the trees - both on the ship and on CC, gingerbread house making, and Mrs. Claus made an appearance one night.
We'll be in the double digits before we know it!!

Question?? Has anyone who has cruised Disney traveled to the port from MCO using a van/limo service or did you take the Disney bus?
We have signed up to take the bus, but would save a $100 by taking a van. We are staying at the Hyatt at the airport, so could travel on either. I worry that a van might not be reliable one direction or the other. I don't want to get stranded at either end.
Thanks, Kathy

Hi everyone,
My family is also going on the 12/11 cruise. I'm glad I saw this last post. I tried searching a few weeks ago for 12/11, but didn't search for December 11--should have know better.
We are DVC owners, but this will be our first cruise. I'm hoping it will be a celebration of me finally finishing my dissertation. My chair told me it "looks like you'll be done by then and will get to do the cruise." I told him I was going even if I wasn't done.
My family is:
DH Richard (56)
Me Wendy (37 on 12/14) and
DS Max (5 at the time of the cruise)
We are all really excited. We are staying at BWV the week before the cruise with my parents and my sister's family. They leave then to go home (San Diego) and we go to the cruise.
I'm so excited it is hard to concentrate on anything else. I'm sure you all know the feeling.

Hello all,
I seen the various threads regarding pirate vs. tropical dress on current cruises. My ?. If the pirate theme stays, how many of you are going to try to dress pirate vs. tropical with pirate touches?
Since I bought my entire family matching Disney tropical wear several months ago, I am thinking about just adding pirate touches to our tropical dress, i.e. the bandanas that DCL seems to be giving out, eye patches, etc, but I am wondering what others on our cruise are thinking about this subject.
Also, I read on the boards that DCL might be considering switching St. Maarteen for San Juan as a permanent change. Does anyone know anymore info on this?
I meant to ask these questions, here to you all traveling on the December 11, 2004 cruise, but instead of posting a reply, I accidently started a new thread. Oops!!!!
Thanks to all.

I bought a tropical dress and dh has a tropical shirt,so we are sticking to that.
I would love it if they changed St Maarten to San Juan.San Juan is great.I haven't been back there since 84,and I surely want to go back.I haven't heard them doing this at least not from DCL.I called DCL when someone posted it on here, and they informed me that nothing had been changed yet.

Hello Everybody! My kids are really excited about the possibility of a Pirate's night. DS dressed up as Jack Sparrow for Halloween last year. I sewed braids with beads on a red "bandana" for him. We'll be sure to bring it if it sounds like the Pirate thing is for real. I think most people will still be wearing tropical clothes that night, since it is a "Caribbean" pirate party.
I hadn't read about the possibility of going to San Juan instead of St. Maarten. I liked St. Maarten, but wouldn't mind missing it - I'd rather seen San Juan. How likely do you think this is?
I was glad that resort codes for everybody finally came out. We are staying at WDW for 3 nights before the cruise and then for 4 nights after the cruise. Anyone else also going to WDW?

Hello everyone.
Have been working a lot of overtime the past few weeks; and have had company to boot. So I haven't been on line very much.
Pirate night instead of Tropical night? Sounds interesting; but I have a nice dress to wear for Tropical night so I think I'll go with that.
I thought DCL was trying out San Juan and some other island to see if they wanted to go there in the future. Could be wrong.
Have to go check out the rest of the threads I've missed.
Everyone have a great weekend. In just a few days we'll be in double digits!

At this point,I don't care where we go aslong as I am on the Disney Magic relaxing having a great time.I do prefer San Juan, but I have never been so St Maarten. It will just be great to just be cruising.

DDD (Double Digit Dance)
This morning before school my kids and I cranked Hey Hey Baby (from the sail away party) and did the DDD. I don't know how to post the pic so my DARLING Sister is going to do it for me. The only one who didn't dance was my son (7) because he has decided that Hey Hey Baby is a 'girls' song. I gave him a big WHATEVER! gave him the camera and asked him to take the picture! I can't wait to be boogie-ing on the Magic!

This is Maria's DH. Right now at 4pm we are experiencing what appears to me as 45 to 50 mph gusts and driving rain. A medium size tree in our neighbor behind us yard fell over earlier and broke their fence and mostly fell into our yard. However, we are safe. A little scary at times hearing things hit the roof. Always the optimist, only 97 days to go for us!!!! I'm tired of the hurricane, even though we aren't in the direct path.

Hi everyone.
Looks liek we made it through the storm. Well, right now we are having rain with pretty good wind gusts. I thoguht it was over.
Doesn't seem to be any damage here except a few small bushes down.
Storm made landfall at Stuart (where we live) I can't get anyone on the phone - no real surprise. Going to try to call the police and see what I can find out before we try to go home.
Maria - hope all is ok with you.
I'm still thinking about the cruise; and I never thoguht I'd say it; but I've lost count of the days.

Fran and Maria.....good to hear all is well with you. I wonder what happened with the people who were scheduled to go out on a cruise on Saturday. We heard on the news that the ships were continuing to sail around and that the people who were supposed to leave on Saturday were staying in hotels.
Boy would that be a bummer....at least for the ones waiting to go. maybe good for those getting extra sailing days.
I am so ready to go on this cruise. My grandchildren are really antsy to go.....we already are getting the " I wish we could go now!" Hey...I wish I could go now!!

Got through to Sheriff at home they said we could come home. There is a curfew there. Finally got through to neighbor. He said development is a mess; but buildings are OK. No power for 4 or 5 more days more. He said we should stay here if we can. Can't get anyone from work; so don't know what's going on there.
Getting antsy; so since all is well at home; and there is nothing we can do here; went over to Magic Kingdom yesterday. Everything looked good. Lots of trees down along the roads; but that's all. Roff of Aunt Polly's was being worked on. don't know if it was scheduled or if it is from hurricane.
Have to go now. Everyone stay well

Fran,I hope you are able to go home soon. There are tons here in Gainesville without power as well. They are saying a week before it comes back.We got lucky as it only went out twice here.I am asthmatic,so I was like please Lord no.Hope you get ahold of your jobs soon also.DH was told yesterday don't go to work till further notice. He is going to go by there this morning to see what is up.You all stay safe!Let us know when you are home!
There are a lot of people on the boads complaing about Disney Cruise line, and what happened.I wish people would understand it is out of Disney's control as no one can control hurricanes. We have another one brewing, and they say it may affect FL.We don't like it either, but it is out of Disney's control.I am worried about castaway cay.One of my dcparents is taking her two boys next month, and I hope by then all is back up there.I havne't heard what damages were done there, but their trip won't be complete without it.Jenn-Those boys would have me play the cd you sent all day if I would. They love it.I can only imagine what will happen when they hear it at the sailaway party.

Hi DIS friends!
We just got back from our surprise 4-day trip to AKL and the parks! We had a blast and the weather was terrific. AKL is awesome! I got to see Mickey's Philharmagic and it is now my favorite 3D show.
We got to see first-hand how devastating a hurricane could be. Not from Frances but from Charley. We could see a sea of blue rectangles (tarps) on the houses from the airplane. The damage to some of the houses between the airport and WDW was really sad to see. I can only imagine what it is like for those in Grenada and Grand Cayman today...

Ivan was nice to us.DH saw some clouds last night, and he said that is what Ivan left.It was windy on and off yesterday.I am just glad he didn't leave any rain. Now,this weekend we will continue on working on our yard due to Frances. The front is done, but the back we are still working on.There is another hurricane coming to FL Monday or Tuesday, but I am hoping and praying it stays in the water.Tropical Number 12 was announced last night. What did we do to deserve one after another. It has never been like this here.

I am so glad those of you in Floriday are recovering. And also relieved that the current storm activity in the Atlantic doesn't look like it will be making landfall.
While helping out in DD's class at school yesterday, the kids had a few minutes of free time and were building things with lego-like pieces. Several of them built hurricane models based on the radar pictures they see on the news. Just shows how much this crazy season has been on everyone's minds - even here in Texas where we haven't even had any threats.
What/where is the port line?
Also, is anyone going to WDW either before or after the cruise? Anyone going to MVMCP? We are trying to plan our WDW schedule.....

What time again do you need to make reservations for Paolos? If we are a group in a number of different cabins, can I reserve for more than one cabin at the same meal? for example, if cabins 1 and 2 want to eat together one night, can I reserve for them, or does someone from each cabin have to stay in the line?

Re: Snuba -- it is sort of like scuba except your air tank is still on the boat and you can go as far as your air tube will take you. I've never done it but it sounds fun. You get to go deep like scuba but you don't have to have all the training!

Maria, I hope all is well with you after this storm passes. It is hard to imagine this many BIG storms hitting one state in one season. And to think the hurricane season has 2 months to go!
I am heading to WDW on Wednesday a.m. with my niece for her 8th birthday present. This will be her first airplane ride (and believe me she is really afraid). I hope the ride doesn't turn out to be a terribly bumpy ride. It will be a short trip, 3 nights at the Poly. I was nervous when I was watching the weather channel and Orlando was going to be hit again.
All is well, the airport is opening tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. and the parks are all open their regular times, so by Wednesday it should be running smoothly (I hope).
The unlucky ones on the cruise that left this weekend end up with only a 5 day cruise since the Magic is leaving from Ft. Lauderdale tomorrow.
Well, hang in there everyone in Florida! Keep safe. I hope you have power as well. My family in Florida are getting bery tired of going to shelters!

I hear the weather is pretty nice in December. I think I read that the average temp is in the 80's. Some say that the water at Castaway Cay can sometimes be on the chilly side depending on what you are use to and others say they thought the water was perfect.
Heads up regarding excursions- you might want to check out Disney's website for ages that are allowed on the excursions. We were looking at doing the Trunk Bay excursion in St. Thomas through Disney Cruise line but found out the minimum age for that excursion is 5 years old. We will end up going on our own so our 1 year old an go, which other DIS'ers say is really easy.

Hi Everyone!
Back from our short hop to WDW. Weather was perfect, sunny every day, no rain, but very hot!!! 91 which is too hot when walking toe parks.
Enjoyed the firewoerks at Wishes. I have the CD of the music during Wishes but have never seen it before. It was great!!
Had some new experiences this trip.....there was a pyrotechnic convention going on at one of the convention centers in the park and Thursday night they put on a firework display at 9:00 off the lake of the MK. We were staying at the Poly and had a great view when it started. WOW! WOW! WOW!!! I have never in my life seen fireworks like these. The person at the hotel and the TV said that there was competition between various companies and it showed. It was awesome......I can't describe this event. There aren't enough words that could convey the colors, the sounds etc.
Then we went to the Halloween Party in the MK (I didn't realize this was going on....I wasn't paying attention to the Disney Chat groups etc) so we bought a costume for Allie (Jasmine) and went in to the MK. I wish I would have known then I would have taken a costume as well. The park was open from 6-12 mn. with 2 parades, special fireworks and trick or treating throughout the park. Great fun. The fireworks that night were set to spookier music than Wishes etc. The castle was lit in purples, greens etc to make it look scary as well as the lights on main street. The lights were low throughout the park which gave it a Halloween atmosphere.
Allie got chosen to be one of the children on the Grand Marshall wagon for the 10:00 parade which thrilled her to death!! She said she always wanted to be in a little hometown parade they have, but she was in THE DISNEY Parade!! I'm so glad she was brave enogh to get on the plane for this trip. She had a great time.....I know, my feet are killing me! Glad to be back home.

We've only done inside rooms on our two cruises and have been fine with them. I suppose we don't know what we are missing. I do miss the daylight in the morning but we are all morning people so getting up is not usually a problem.
I'm SO excited that our "family" is growing!!!
Please be sure to purchase the "DIS" lime green buttons and wear them on the embarkation day. We plan to have a DIS meet on deck 10 before the sail-away party. Isn't that right?? Also a friendly competition to see who will end up at the port first (me, me, me, meeeee)
momto2dkids: I put a picture of my 6-year old and a drawing he did in the mail today. I asked him to draw a picture of him on the cruise boat - I think you'll be surprised what he drew!
fran: WOW - this long without electricity! Is there anything we can do to help?? Like the starfish said in Finding Nemo - "find a happy place, find a happy place, find a happy place"!

You've got a mother/daughter team right here. It will be myself and DD (also adult).
If you liked the 4 day cruise - you will LOVE the seven day! Do you have the early or late dinner seating?
Sorry I can't help on the inside stateroom. We're hung up on the verandah. I love to sit out there early morning and late at night.
Where in NJ are you located? We're from Trenton originally.

Hi all!We hope everyone is having a good week.Welcome aboard to our new friends joining us on this cruise.DH and I can't wait to meet you all.We have our pins ready!DH has this box full of cruise stuff, and every time I see them I get even more excited!
Jennifer, you know who is going to win?Me<G>!!!It will be so funny if we get there at the same time!
We are getting away this weekend. We are heading to Cocoa Beach to see the boat sailaway as well as going to meet Shirley from the Perfect Gift for the first time. She is doing some baskets for my dckids as well as one for us in December. On the last two cruises,we have had Disney do the welcome aboard basket stuff this time we are doing something new.I have heard great things about the Perfect Gift.Shirley is so great to talk to via phone,so we are looking forward to meeting her.
Fran,I hope you have your power on by now.We have been lucky with both hurricanes as we only lost our time briefly. We still have tons of things to do in our yard, but we have to wait till water goes down.Prayers that your lights come back on soon!
You all have a great rest of the week!

Hi JWANN,
Thanks for the input on the staterooms. I'll also let my mom know. I was wondering where do I buy or get the DIS Lime Green buttons from? I would love for us to have them for our trip! We can't wait. The days keep just ticking by don't they? I hope to be at the port pretty early also. However, are flight is pretty late the night before. Is there a specific place on deck 10 that everyone meets and a certain time? How did I get all this information?
Thanks for everyones help. Even though we were on a four night cruise before...it seems like it was a blur. It went so very fast and being new I think that we missed some things. I would love some tips from you pro cruisers.
Thanks again,

AKA..SQUIGGLE
My mom and I have the late seating for dinner. How about you and your dtr? What do you have? So far we have asked for a two seater table. What do you guys have? How old is your dtr? I'm 26. We are originally from Mt. Holly..now we reside in Maple Shade. Both in Burlington County. My mom's family all lives here. Except my one Aunt who recently moved to Florida. Mom and I are planning on one night to have dinner at Palo's. We did not try Palo's last time. However, now that we have more time we think we'll give it a go. We are so very excited to go on this cruise together.
Hope to see you and your dtr on the ship.
Thanks,

Just got off the phone with Debbie and made all our reservations for the REAS!!!! I am so excited. We are traveling during our anniversary and have PALO reservations for our dinner with turn down service that night!!!!
We are traveling with boys 6 & 9. I heard they might have changed the age designations of the clubs. Has anyone heard about this? I need to make sure they stay together, as they did on the last cruise.
Can't wait, I love signing on to my reservations on the Dreams Unlimited site and seeing the days left to the trip!!!

Sorry to let you know, however the boys will be in different groups. The groups go 3-7 and then 8-12. I hope that they won
't mind. I have the Disney Cruise Passporter. This thing is great. However, just to double check the book I just hung up the phone with the cruise line and asked them the ages. I just wanted to answer your question for you. Hope to see you on the ship.
They should still have fun if they don;t mind being seperated.

HEY!! Pgood!!! My sons are 9 and 6 as well!! Would you like to exchange pictures/letters in the mail? My sons aren't much for writing letters but are good at drawing pictures and I can attach a polaroid of them so your boys might have a familiar face in the club and lab! My 6 year-old likes the club and spends alot of time there. My 9 year-old LOVES the lab and would stay there all day if we let him. He's also been saving his allowance for arcade cards.
Jen - you get the DIS buttons by going onto www.wdwinfo.com and clicking on "Stuff for DISers" on the left hand side. I'm not completely sure where we are meeting on deck 10 - port? starboard? BUt we are meeting above the goofy pool.

Don't worry cruisenewbie. They keep the 3&4s together and the 5-7s together. They even have different navigators. We've had kids in our traveling group that were in those separate groups and they rarely saw eachother. IMHO, Disney does a super job keeping things age-appropriate.

Jen - We have early seating; usually get LAPLAPL rotation. We get a table for 8; and have been lucky with our table mates. have met some very nice people. DD is 39.
There was some talk of a meet before the Sailaway Party. Deck 10 Starboard (terminal) side. We'll have our DIS shirts and pins on. Hopefully we'll see you in the terminal before we board. We'll probably be getting there around 10;30.

Hi all!
Hope everyone is having a good fall weekend. It is Homecoming weekend here in Murray at Murray State University. SInce my dh teaches there, we always have fun this weekend.
I have an idea. Feel free to let me know what you think....
I'm a big "game-playing" gal and thought of a game that might be fun to play on the boat.
1. Everyone from our DIS group (anyone who will wear a shirt or pin so that includes dh's or dkids with DIS buttons or shirts) PMs me with a personal question and answer that only someone could get if they ASKED you. Example - NOT THIS - What color are fran (squiggle)'s eyes BUT THIS What was Joelle (jhorner)'s nickname in highschool. Get it? Be sure you supply me with a question and answer from each one in your group who will play.
2. A couple weeks, or so, before we sail, I will post a list of the questions on our thread. You print the questions out.
3. The first one to give me their paper with all the questions correctly answered wins a Disney pin (how about a Disney Cruise Christmas Pin!?)
This game might be fun! It will encourage us to look for DIS buttons and interact with one another. I can just see me in the Walt Disney Theater -- "Hey, Maria, what's your favorite color?"
LOL
I ran this by my dsis and she thinks it sounds good but she's a game playing sort as well. What do y'all think?
momto2dkids

Sounds FUN to me! I'll ask my DH if he'll be willing to participate, but I know my children would like to play for sure.

This sounds like it could be fun; but what are the rules? Can we ask questions of each other BEFORE the cruise? Or do we have to wait until the cruise?
We would definitely have to wear some DIS indentifying item. Might get a lot of strange looks if we just went up to someone who happened to be in a lime green shirt (do you know how many of those there are out there!)

Hi!I am gain for some game playing. My dh will have to answer for himself.
We just got back from Orlando. We went to the Perfect Gift out at Cocoa Beach and met Shirley and Norm for the first time.I am sure you all know who I am talking about as Shirley is also on here.I am so glad we got to meet them. They are great people. We ordered a basket for our cruise from them. We went to eat at Rusty's,and we watched the Magic sail out as we ate.Downtown Disney was really busy last night.I can see why I couldn't get a room on Disney property. The Riu in downtown Disney was fine though. We had breakfast this morning at the Polynesisan at Kona Cafe.I love their stuffed french toast. Then,we took the monorails around the hotels to walk off breakfast as we looked in the shops. The hotels were packed,so I am sure the parks were too. There was tons of debris down as we traveled through Orlando and Cocoa Beach. It is so sad.
9 more weeks!I can't wait!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Fran,I am glad things are getting back to normal there also.I hope and pray we are done for the rest of the year.I am with you I can't wait to hear the horn blow, and I surely can't wait to go to the rainforest onboard the ship.
We have late seating! We were lucky on both cruises on the Disney Wonder,so hopefully we will be lucky with our tablemates on the Magic. That is the only eerie thing I have about cruising as one never knows what that is going to be like.I wish some of you all had late seating, but it looks like we are the only late seaters<G>.
Jen,I beat you to the port already I was there yesterday<G>!We are going again a week from Thursday to see the Wonder sail out as two of my dckids will be on it.They still have no clue.DH and I already discussed it this weekend we are going to be sleeping here in town, but we will be leaving early enough on Saturday to get to port before 10 AM.We will have our Dis Pins on.COme on 9 weeks get out of the way!!!!I am so ready for the rainforest!I am going to lounge away<G>.

My family and I have late seating as well, so you won't be the only DISer at that time. We were waitlisted for early because we will have our 3 Dkids(10,5, and 1), but I think we have pretty much decided that late seating might work out well for us since we are from the west coast. Eating at 6-6:30 would be like 3:00 on our body clocks. 8-8:30pm equates to 5-5:30 on our body clocks which is more like when we eat here at home. My only worry is being in a room full of adults only that might not like sharing their dining time with small children and getting strange looks all during dinner. Kind of like that, "Oh I hope that baby isn't sitting by me on the plane" look that moms sometimes get when they travel with young ones on planes.

Hey!We won't look at you all like that.It would be great if they sat us together.DH and I love children, but we know exactly where you are coming from as there are people like that.We get the usual question when we book a cruise with AAA-"Don't you want to go on another cruise line that doesn't have as many children?" If I wanted to do that,I would of asked. This will probably be our last cruise booking with them as there are really no incentives now with booking with AAA.We will have to wave at each other!

Disneyfan37 and Momto2dkids and SQUIGGLE,
MY mom and I also have the late seating. We both love kids. I think there will be other families at the late seating with kids. It will be fine. We expect to see kids everywhere I think that if they minded they would take a different cruise.
We love playing games. I can't wait to see you all on the ship! Do we wear a specific Disney Pin or can it be any Disney Pin that we have? And do we have to get lime green shirts or can we just wear any Disney shirt with the pin? Then do we just wear a Disney Pin everyday to identify ourselves as playing the game? Or how will that work?
I can't wait til December. SQUIGGLE we are arriving the night before. We are getting in sooo late that we are just staying at a hotel right near the airport. So far I have the Fairfield in mind. They have shuttle service to and from the airport.
I am thinking of getting up and trying to get on one of the first buses to the port. We get more and more excited everyday.
When you guys have late seating how many people do you usually sit with?
Hope to see you all there.
Thanks,

So... today is "final payment" day for our cruise. I'm agonizing over whether to stick with it or not. Typically, I book last minute; no more than 30 days out. But this one I reservered whilst onboard back in March, so it includes a 10% discount and $200 on board credit. I also have the 14 day FL to CA cruise reserved, but if I do this one, it'll be hard for me to justify the expense of the repo cruise. The big difference being the 12/11/04 cruise is with my kids (boys, 4 & 6) and the repo cruise is just my wife and me.
I really want to go on the 12/11 eastern with my boys who have never cruised before. Come on folks, talk me into it - before DCL closes today!
Thanks,

I think that you should take the boys on this cruise. It will be an experience that they will never forget. An early Christmas present. Plus, the 14 day cruise is almost 7 months away. This one less than 2. YEAH! We can't wait to go. Your boys will have so much fun in the kids labs. Plus, you and your wife can still go to a nice private dinner together at Palo's. Why not! Disney is ALWAYS worth it. Just think that in two months from today you could be sitting on the ship having lunch or swimming in the pool or watching a movie. Or whatever you heart desires. My mom and I are SO excited to go on our first 7 day cruise. We have only been on one other and it was a four day.
Hope to see you and you family on the ship.

What better time to share a magical time with your young boys then on a Magical boat at the most magical time of the year-Christmas!
Come on- cruise with us!! Create those memories now.
We were orginally booked on the same FL to CA repo cruise, but had to cancel because of timing issues with school, testing and such. My children are just as excited, if not more, to be going on the cruise around Christmas time and seeing all the decorations as they were about cruising for the two weeks repo cruise. My now 5 year old still remembers his first cruise when he had just turned three and is literally jumping up and down with excitement about leaving for another one in eight weeks.

OK, gang, I'm in. Just made my final payment. I'll be down in the deck 2 dungeon. :D
I tell you, I'm going to be spoiled. My last cruise was the 7 night Western back in March. I've got to space these things out a bit more or go bankrupt!
Here's a link for information (http://allearsnet.com/tp/hol_mk.htm) regarding Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.
As for my plans, I'm coming from central North Carolina, so I'll likely leave Thursday night and spend the night somewhere near Jacksonville. We'll plan to get to WDW mid-afternoon on Friday, check in, attend the Christmas party (shhh... it's a surprise for my boys), and then head to the port Saturday morning.

About our DIS meet game -- I'll think about the "rules" and post closer to the cruise.
Personally, my group will be at early seating. We are arriving at Disney the day before the cruise and staying with my dsis (jhorner) at the Beach Club Villas. Welcome Sam - Glad you decided to take your boys. They'll have a great time! I took my DS last year when he was 6 and he did great.
We currently have late seating, but are waitlisted for early. We booked back in March and I was surprised that early seating was already filled. Hopefully now that all the final payments are in, DCL can begin to finalize the dining seating.
You guys have fun at MVMCP. We will be in WDW - arriving the Wed. before the cruise, but currently we're planning to be at Epcot on Friday night. DH wasn't too excited about staying out so late at MVMCP. (I tell him he's just getting old and too set in his ways. :p )

I was wondering if the Disney Pro Cruisers could give us some ideas of the best things to do on the ship. And the best way to manage our time while there. I felt as if the four night cruise was such a blur as was our first ever cruise. We were kinda in ahh of the whole idea of being on the ship and what not. I think that this time will be a lot better having more time on the ship and more days at sea.
Also, when you have those days at sea does can you actually feel that there are so many people on the ship. I mean on port days everyone is off doing something most likely off the ship. But with days at sea does it seem that there really is more people than on port days?
Still a little afraid of the inside stateroom. Are they much smaller than an outside stateroom? We won't know our stateroom number until we get our cruise papers two weeks prior to the cruise.
Thank you for everyone's help.

This time we'll be in a SPH cabin! I don't think you'll find the inside cabin too small. We were in one on our last cruise, and other than not being able to tell when it was morning, it was fine. They're not much smaller than the outside cabins.

Exactly my experience. The 7 day cruise really lets you disconnect from the world and you really get to know your tablemates well. I'm totally sold on the 7 day cruises.
Also, when you have those days at sea does can you actually feel that there are so many people on the ship. I mean on port days everyone is off doing something most likely off the ship. But with days at sea does it seem that there really is more people than on port days?
It does feel more crowded especially around the pools. But I don't recall ever feeling like the crowd overwhelmed me. I mean, it wasn't a crowd like Fantasyland on a Saturday in June.
Still a little afraid of the inside stateroom. Are they much smaller than an outside stateroom? We won't know our stateroom number until we get our cruise papers two weeks prior to the cruise.
Maybe you'll get an upgrade. I reserved a GTY 11 on my March western and got a deck 2 cat 9. I loved it so much, I reserved a deck 2 cat 9 for this cruise. Pop by and stare out the window with me if you like. I'll be in 2510.

Thank you for the info on the sea days and the crowds at the pools. We'll probably do something else on those days. Actually for dinner we only have a table for two. My mom said on the first cruise that she knows that I would feel comfortable with other people that I don't know. However she probably would not be as comfortable with others as she would be with it just being mom and daughter. So we went again with a table for two, I don't want my mom to be uncomfortable. This is supposed to be a WONDERFUL vacation. I can't wait.
So Sam, your like the dad on the DCL commercial where you see him sleeping all over the place. On the ship, and Castaway Cay. HA! HA! That's funny. And thank you for letting me know that you got an upgrade. That gives me something to look forward to. Hope you enjoy your view.

My TA called and said our shore excursion information has come in for our cruise. I don't have any big interest in anything except perhaps the butterfly farm and coral world, and I assume I don't need to call her asap and book those, right?
We have all paid in full now, all ten of us. It would be interesting if anyone in our party gets an upgrade. We are in a veranda room, we have two oceanview rooms and one inside cabin. Perhaps the inside cabin will get bumped up.

cruisenewbie 2004 - we're planning on seeing Coral World too. Heard from someone who lived on St Thomas that it is worth seeing.
Not Sure about St Maarten - may do island tour.
Sure wish our excursion info would get here. Curious to see if there is anything new.
Just saw on a thread down farther that docs seem to be arriving around amonth before the cruise. Soooooooo does that mean in just about a month we should be getting our doc? YEA!!!!

To those on our thread with young kids....
Are you going to ask for one of the "pay it forward"-thread postcards? (For those who don't know. You can PM the thread your kids names and address and someone will send a cruise postcard to your kids from Mickey - or any character you want - saying "Can't wait to see you".... etc. before you go on the cruise. Then when you get back you sign up to be one of the folks who will send out a postcard. You get a few free postcards in your stateroom). If so. Don't you think we ought to ask for one soon??? I'm not sure on the turn-around time....

Our excursion package came about a week or so ago. We thought we had are places picked, however today things changed again. They always seem to. Now we are going to Coral World and doing the Tram, and we are also going to do the Butterfly Farm. I can't to get on the ship.
Does anyone know of any place that has cheap transfers from the airport to the Raddison next to the Port?
Thanks. Can't wait to see everyone.

Hi thejenjens,
Getting transportation from the airport to the Radisson is the only thing I have left to really plan and reserve, so I was calling around today to check and compare prices from the various companies. A couple months ago I was pretty sure about using Happy Limo because they were recommended by another DISer and they seem to have the best rate for a van (we have 5 in our party). After reading the number of negative posts regarding Happy Limo I started getting worried about using them and decided to do more looking. I found that the top companies that people on this board seem to like and recommend are FL Tours and Southern Elegance Limos. I went to both websites and talked with Adam from Southern Elegance Limos- seems to be a very nice man! I'm going to try to talk my husband into going the limo route when he gets home tonight, we'll see. The price is around $280.
If I remember correctly there are two in your travel party(Mom and Daughter) so you could probably look at a town car for much cheaper than a limo. Southern Elegance has town cars for $160 roudtrip. FL Tours has town cars for $170, buty offer a $10 discount so they run $160 as well.
Hope this helps.

Good morning all!
We haven't gotten our excursion info yet. If we don't get something today I'll go on line with DCL and get the info. Then I'll just call DCL.
We definitley want to go to Coral World; but not sure about St Maarten yet. Has anyone gone to the Casino there?
What's happening with "the game'?
8 weeks from right now we'll be pulling up to the terminal!!

We are heading back to port this Thursday to see the boat leaves as two of my dckids will be on it.The children still have no clue.I wish I was a bug on the wall when they find out. They aren't going to say anything till they are at port. After this trip,we won't be there again till we sail out.

:earsgirl: Hi to all of you fellow disney cruise lover: Can't wait to get on the Magic on December 11th. I just have a quick question, I keep looking at the book for all of the thing you can do in port and I keep changing my mind about everything! We, my DD and I (Mom and daughter team) are doing the Butterfly Farm, but we had the Under two Flags tour, now I was wondering if we should go back to the Under Two Flags tour. Has any one been to one or the other and what did you think?
What is the weather like where we are going in December? I want to make sure I take the right clothes, but would like to get away with not having to take so much luggage! Last time for the four day, we took way too much! I mean one whole suitcase was shoes! LOL!
Thanks for all of your help, I am getting a lot of good tips from the board!

Good morning everyone.
Millie - we went on the Under Two Flags Tour a few years ago. It was a good overview of the island with some of the history thrown in. We made a few picture stops and then had about an hour to shop in Marigot. Sorry, can't help you with the Butterfly farm. I thought it was interesting.
Have never cruised in December; but I'm figuring it will be even warmer in the Islands than here in Florida. So, I'm taking shorts and short sleeves; and a pair of jeans and a light sweater (just in case).
Maria - we'd like to enjoy the ship when it's not too crowded too. That's why we are having trouble deciding what to do/or not do.
St Thomas is definitely Coral World and probably the Paradise Point Tram.
Everyone have a good day.

Everyone enjoy your Sunday!

Were grand children surprised on Thursday? Bet they are having a WONDERful time.
When are you going to Coral World? We have the 8 am (8:30? something like that) excursion.
Wasn't thinking too much about decorating door. Was thinking of a small tree for the stateroom though.

Cruising is the one thing I can do and totally relax. I guess that is why my DH and I try to go on at least 1 cruise every year. It will be fun to have the kids and grandkids along with us. It may not be quite as relaxing, but a very different type of fun and bonding time.

Hi Fran,Thanks!I went just now and got some vitamins and will start taking care of myself more. The seaair does great for me as well.I have no problems!I would move to port canaveral in a heart beat.I love seeing the boats sail out.I never had allergies, asthma or anything when we lived in South FL,but here in Gator territory it is different. We have a lot more trees and stuff for sure which affects me.My dckids didn't even know they were going on Wednesday night. When we saw the boat sail out we got to see a glimpse of them. The Mom sounded as I could hear it in her voice yelling.I am glad as she was afraid of seasickness. The littlest one yelled out Gaga which is my husband. Those two boys are spoiled rotten by us to say the least. We had two baskets done by the Perfect Gift in cabin waiting for them.We have missed them dearly.I hope and pray they are having a great time as the next time we are going with them.Today, they are at Castaway Cay,so hopefully the weather is great there.DH snorkeling time is set for ten at Coral World their time.We are in cabin 2556.Hey a table top Christmas tree may be good idea.We are sticking to deck 2 as we have had good luck with that deck as far as seasickness and everything. We may venture on our next cruise and get a higher up cabin. My dckids were in 7501.I am curious as to how they liked their room.DH and I were talking about a verandah today at lunch. He is like if I want to go outside I will go to deck 9 and 10,so we will stick to porthole cabin for right now.
Kathy,I am with you.I can actually relax on a cruise, and DH can too as we aren't having to drive anywhere.Everything is right there for us.
Anybody book anything for Castaway Cay?We just got the bikes again, and we will also do the water trikes as well.We enjoyed both of these two things last night.I was thinking about seeing if DH wanted to do the glass bottom boat, but I have heard too many mixed emotions on that. With all the hurricanes we have had this year, who knows if one could actually see anything.I saw some photos that someone just took of Castaway Cay after Jeanne, and the island looks so brown and treeless. It is so sad.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

We booked the jetski excursion on CC but just for my DH and DS. I'll hang out on the beach and do it next time if they like it.

Hi All,
I have not posted in awhile. Hope everyone is doing well. My Aunt and her girlfriend left on the Wonder today. They called us at 1:45 from the ship. My Aunt was the first one in the adult pool and her girlfriend ws the first in the hottub. I can't wait till Dec.
Jan made my mom and I a magnet for our stateroom door with the pricess' on it and says sonething like, Millie and Jen's Magical Vacation. How is anyone else thinking of decorating their doors?
We are also booked for the early Coral World excursion. I can't believe that we only have 47 days left. YEAH. This will be my prize for finishing a rough semester at school. I just turned in my Mid-Term on Friday. My class is over on the 3rd of Dec. A week before the cruise. I get to relax and then really relax and have a great time on the ship with my mom.
We still don't have our cabin number. We will find that out when we get our papers for the cruise. We can't wait for them to get here. Probably a month or so before we leve, right?
Thanks,

Door decorations! What a great idea ("where have you been" you are probably thinking as I'm sure you've discussed this already)
How about a guessing game. Like 3 clues to your favorite ride at one of the parks or your favorite thing on the cruise.
For example if it was It's a Small World
you could write
It's in a magical place...
And yet filled with many countries...
don't jump the ship or you'll get all wet....
The answer is It's a Small World
The answer could be posted on last full day.
Any takers?
thejenjens
10-25-2004, 04:29 PM
Totally!!!!!!!!
How would we work the game???
We could also have multiple one's on our door for each person in the cabin. Each person could come up with their own. Right?
Would we have to know where everyone is staying and what cabin number? I would be interested in that game however I will also be putting the magnet on our door that my Aunt's girlfriend made for us.
Let me know what I can do and I'll help.
Thanks,
Jen

Hi all!
Just confirmed my booking for December 11. My husband and I were originally scheduled for a cruise on Sept. 11th...but we live in Orlando and had to postpone it due to the hurricanes. We originally had it changed to April, which would have been an additional $1300! We just changed to the December cruise for no additional money...woohoo. AND the countdown to December cruising is much nicer than April! We have cruised many times on DCL and this will be our second Eastern. dh (41)
ds (9)
ds (6)
sister (36)
dh (41)
ds (8)
dd (5)
We are in rooms 2107 and 2109 and we have early seating.
We are planning on doing all our excursions on our own. St. Maarten: renting a jeep and beach hopping. St. Thomas: taking a ferry to St. Johns to visit Trunk Bay.
We are planning on a DIS meeting on Deck 10 after the safety drill and before the Sail Away Party. It is my hope that all DISers will wear a Lime Green DIS button that has their screen name on it. (You can order them for a few dollars from these boards. My dh wants one too even though he only lurks on these boards. or perhaps make your own.)
Also, we have a game in the works where each person from this thread that wants to play will PM me a question and answer. For example: What was jwann's nickname in highschool? or What is squiggle's favorite dessert on the Magic? A few days before we go, I'll post a list of the questions. Print this out and the first one to get me a completed list of answers wins a Disney cruise pin. We are hashing out the rules. More to come.....be thinking of your question.

Hi All,
That is funny housework. LOL! Well, my mom and I share a townhouse so we kinda split the housework. And now my and and her girlfriend are living here for a short time and I think that they have picked-up my share of the housework while I write my papers. And procrastinate by surfing the boards. HA HA
I have turned in my paper, that turned out to be seven pages. Now I can guilt free surf the boards. That is until next Sunday when I have to turn another paper in.
We are making our own sort of pins, we got the paint sample lime green Mickey head from Home Depot and are going to put my screen name on there.
Has anyone ever been to Coral World before? If so what is it really like and what can we expect? What does everyone do for lunch and what not while on the excursions?
Well, I hope that everyone has a GREAT work week and a GREAT week even if your not working.
Thanks,
Jen ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo :Pinkbounc

Jen,that is great that you can relax for a week as your paper is done.Enjoy the time! This is the first time DH and I are taking the Disney Magic as our last two cruises were four nighters on the Wonder. We are doing the excursion with Disney for St Maarten, but we are doing St Thomas alone.DH has an early snuba reservation,so we will leave the boat around 8:30 to head over to Coral World.I will do Coral World by myself while he snuba's.DH got two Dis Pins from online, and we will also be making our own Dis t-shirts before cruise that we will be wearing upon boarding ship.It is just dh and I on the cruise, and we have late seating.
JWann, you want the questions sent now or should we wait on that?Let us know. Thanks!
Anybody decorating cabin door?We went yesterday to Office Depot, and we got some magnetic paper. They also have some cute Mickey and Minnie cut outs which I may go back and get to add to door.I found these at the scrapbook section of the store.
Smchan,I saw that on the board too where someone had gotten their docs for December 4 cruise.DH went to AAA last week, and he told them we wanted the docs mailed to us.We don't want to miss that excitement of doc day.Come on docs!
Hope everyone has a great week!

For the newcomers, our traveling party consists of:
me (30ish)
DH (30's)
DD (10 1/2, that half is very important to her!)
DS (5)
DD (newly 1 year old princess: )
We have late seating, which should work out ok since we are from the west coast so with time difference it is about when we normally eat.
JWANN- have you done St. John, Trunk Bay on your own before? I am trying very hard to talk my husband into doing this, but he is paranoid that we are going to miss the ship and then be "S.O.L!"
If I can't talk him into it, I guess we will pretty much stay on the ship since the age of our youngest one prevents us from doing the St. John excursion through DCL.
I am still in on playing the game. Trying to think up some questions!
Disneyfan37- I am planning on trying to make a door sign to decorate our cabin door. I am also trying to find some 'Disneyish' Christmas decorations to possible to to decorate inside the cabin as well. When we traveled on the Halloween Wonder two years ago, I was very lucky to find a boxed set of Halloween decorations(Mickey shaped paper lanterns, mickey bat and mickey ghosts shaped paper garland). I hurried to the cabin to decorate as soon as we boarded as DH went exploring with the kids. The look on their faces when they finally came to cabin and saw all the decorations was priceless. They are still convinced that Mickey and Minnie decorated the cabin for them. In fact, we still have the decorations and used them again this Halloween.

I think that is great that you decorated your stateroom for your kids. I will keep an eye out for ya on Disney Christmas decorations.
We have a magnet that has the princess' on it and says something like Mille and Jen's Magical Vacation. We are going to put that on our cabin door. Still looking for other things.
Plus, didn't someone mention before about doing a guessing game on your stateroom door?
Thanks,
Jen

Hello,
We will be cruising on the December 11th cruise also. Please be patient with me, because I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to forums! I made my first post last week (and no one answered!) This is only my second attempt. I'm a civil engineer by day and a Disney Fanatic by night (and day!) Our cruisers include:
Me (40 on 12-14, but I'm in denial!)
DH (38)
DS (12
DS (9) (10 on 12-27)
DS (8)
My parents will also be joining us. We cruised the Western Magic two years ago and loved it. I'm looking forward to the extra day at sea.
Well, it's time to see if I did this right and see if my message actually appears!

Welcome Michele!!
About St. John --- We went to Trunk Bay on our own last year and it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. I had read up about how to get there, taxis, ferrys, etc. before we left so I pretty well new the schedule we had to follow. Even with that, DH was about to call it off the day before. He was too nervous about not making it back to the ship on time. But, after stepping foot onto that breathtaking beach, he completely changed his mind. It is a rare thing in these times to find a naturally beautiful place that has yet to be spoiled by humans.
As long as you keep track of the time on the beach and catch the cab back to the ferry dock, you will have no problem getting back to the ship on time. The cabs on St. John are used to the cruise ship schedules and line up at the popular beaches (Trunk Bay, Cinammon) on time to pick people up. Also, going on your own, you have more beach time than the excursion folks do. We saw the excursion come and go while we relaxed on the beach and snorkeled.
Have a good week everyone!

Welcome Michele and family!
RebeccaLovesDisney- Thanks so much for the info on Trunk Bay, I need all the info I can get to throw at my DH to try and convince him. If nothing else- maybe he will just get tired of me trying to convince him and let me plan away.

Trunk Bay is definitely worth it... was amazing. And it is super easy to get there on your own. All the taxi's are waiting, know when the ships come in, and when they go out. Ferry is easy to catch, and it's a neat ride over to St. John's.
I went to Trunk Bay last year, we got there.. shopped a little in St. John, went to the beach for a few hours...had lunch... got the ferry back, and still had time to shop more on St. Thomas.

Welcome Michele and Family!
momto2dkids-That is a great idea to decorate the stateroom.I bet your kids loved it with the Halloween theme.I know those priceless faces.I know that I am going to take a small table top tree with us.I don't know if you have CVS,Eckerd's or Walmart where you are at,but I have found Disney decorations at all three of these places. If you have a Disney Store by you, they will definitely have them.Your kids will love it no matter what you do!I will see if I see anything, and I will let you know.I havne't decided how I am going to do the cabin door.
thejenjens-DH and I had early seating on our first Disney Cruise on the Wonder, and we liked it.On the second cruise on the Disney Wonder,we had late seating we tried to switch without any luck.We actually ended up loving it as we were never rushed. We have late seating now for this cruise, and we are glad we do.
Everyone have a great day!

DisneyFam5--Welcome Michele and family. Are you and your DH going to have a nice dinner at Palo's for your 40th birthday? Hope that you have a great time on the ship and celebrating your 40th. I think that is a great way to spend your birthday.
Disneyfan37--Do you and your DH have a table for two or do you do a group table? We had late seating on our first cruise the 4 night and liked it just fine. We liked going to the show and also not rushing to finish dinner.
I can't believe that we are in the 30's. WOW! The time is going by. Those doc's are sure to be here soon. Then maybe mom and I can find out what our stateroom number is going to be. It is driving me  waiting. I can't wait to go to Coral World. I LOVE the ocean and all sea life.
Have a great Tuesday.

Welcome Michele and family!
I'm just busting at the seems with excitement! (or is that my growing waistline from all the halloween candy....)
Michele - I have a boy who is 9 and can't wait to go to the lab!
About Trunk Bay - We are just going to wing-it. Sounds like we'll have company from our DIS friends here on the thread. We can keep a look out for one another so we can be sure to make it back to the ship on time!
Now begins the political message part of my post.....
GO VOTE!
Thus ends the political message part of my post :)

Disneyfan37,
On the four night we were able to request a table for two. So that is what we did this time as well. My mom always says that I would be comfortable no matter how many peopel we sat with, however she is unsure of dining with strangers. Even if they will be our Disney family for seven nights. So I of course want her to be comfortable on her vacation so I go along with a table for two. Plus it gives us more quality time together, however I guess being on a ship in the middle of the ocean we'll get a TON of quality time together. I love going on vacation with her she is the best.
Still wondering if anyone has ever done Coral World before or not?
Can't wait to be sailing, sailing over the ocean blue.
Thanks,
Jen ::MickeyMo

Shelley - just wondering which cruise you were on last December. We were on the Dec. 13th Eastern cruise. Were you on that one as well?
Also, I noticed you asked about going to the parks. We are going both before and after the cruise. Two park days before (mostly MK while crowds are low) and three park days after.

RebeccaLovesDisney-
Thanks so much for the link to the V.I. It looks great. I am excited to look at it in more depth later. Right now workmen are cutting the stucco off the back exterior of my house. VERY LOUD. It seems several of the windows on the back lower floor of my house (4 years old) have been leaking over the years. They tore through parts of the interior wall last week and found some water damage and small amount of mold-YUK! Now they have to take the stucco off so they can do more testing on the windows to see if they are defective. I just keep thinking- THE CRUISE IS COMING, THE CRUISE IS COMING!!
(My daughter has really enjoyed corresponding with your daughter. Please let her know that my daughter will be PM'ing her again soon, it's just with all the craziness around the house right now she has to wait to use the computer.)
Looking forward to meeting you all at the cruise meet on deck 10.
