I originally had a dinner/CP PS set for 5:00 show and 7:15 dinner. After reading that it would be better to see the CP at night I switched to a 5:30 dinner and the late CP show. We are also going to the Coral Reef instead of the Biergarten.
I've wanted to try the Coral Reef but have always thought it a bit pricey, especially for the reviews it seems to get. We'll probably get there early for dinner, maybe we'll get a good table. This seemed to be a good opportunity to eat at the Coral reef and take advantage of the CP seating arrangements.

Thank you. There are so many acronyms, sometimes my tired brain just cannot decipher them.

Why is the later show better? We have the package booked for the 5:00 show with a 7:10 ps at Rose and Crown. Though we have been to WDW many times, we are newbies for going at Christmas!

It was a hassle to change the PS's. That is because I changed the PS instead of making a new one and canceling the old. If I were to do it again I woould just make a PS for whatever I wanted like it was the first time making a PS. then I would call either give the old PS# and cancel it when they asked me if there was anything else they could do or I would call back. It would depend on how confident I was in the CM's ability.
As far as why the later shows are better...I heard because it is lihter at the early show you don't or may not get the full effect of the lighting during the performance.
Since we are viewing this on our first night of this vacation we'll be seeing it more than one night. We try to get to Epcot at least half of the nights of our vacations so we can view Illuminations we might as well try to get there early enough to catch CP.

We saw the middle show in 2001 and the early show last year--true it wasn't dark when it started, but I think we still got the effect--we were in the front though, and 2 of my kids fell asleep (it was our travel day). DH said this year no CP unless we don't do the dinner package, but Gary Sinise is there when we are, so even if I have to plop my behind in front of the American pavillion for an hour to hear him I will.
