Which water park for a 3 yr old who can swim

like a fish!? Someone told me that Universal's Wet-n-Wild has the most for little ones and that usually one of the Disney ones is closed in January. Is that true and how can I find out which one? Thanks for any suggestions.

we just got back from WDW and we tried both water parks. Blizzard beach was a great place with a very very large wave pool. there are great rides for all ages. they have an area that has lots of slides and fun thing to do for the ages of 5 to 9. If your child wants to ride the big waves you need to go to Typhoon Lagoon. my 9 & 5 yrs. dd loved this place with the 6 foot waves. They have an area for 3 years olds that I would recommend the small water slide for your child just to see if she is ready for the bigger slides that are fun. If all she wants to do is swim then I would recommend Blizzard beach. If you go to Typhoon Lagoon your will have an 6 foot wave every 90 seconds, so you will not get much swimming time. My 5 yrs. dd love just swimming at the resort. BB is close right now, but I am sure it should be open by Jan.

We loved Blizzard Beach. There wasn't really anyplace to swim, but there were great slides that you could do with your kids, the tubes and the family raft, that they didn't have at Typhoon Lagoon.

We enjoyed our day at BB, but I think the kids enjoyed the hotel pool (BWV - with the slide closed) just as much. The tots area was a little too little for them (they are 4 and 5), but gave them a chance to understand tubes and such. Disney does loan out swim vests - so although my kids don't swim well enough on their own to be out over their heads, with the swim vests they bobbed along in water as deep as I could go. We also were lucky enough to spend some time at StormAlongBay (they let us pool hop since we were slideless - and the kids enjoyed the small slide over there).

January can be very cold - although the pools are heated. On the plus side, no one goes to the waterparks when its 65 out.

My vote would be Blizzard Beach. It's such a cool waterpark. Our first visit, my daughter was almost 3 and she loved it. But you might be right - could be closed in January. January can be quite cold in Florida. Wet n Wild may not be open either.

Thanks so much for the info, and I think we will be taking your adivce about hanging out at the hotel pool instead. We're staying at the Sheraton Safari which has the snake slide, and my son is so excited about it, so I sure hope that we have nice weather and the pool is warm enough. We stayed at All Star Movies last January and it was in the high 70's, but imho the water was not heated up enough (accept for my ds and the people from Europe...they thought it was perfect, LOL)...although I would love to take advantage of an empty water park, even if it's a little cold...BB sounds best with the family rafts and I'd be too nervous with the waves at Typhoon Lagoon since ds is fearless.
