I am SO looking forward to some sun and warmth! It is currently 51 deg. F, cold, clammy and cloudy. I am about to pick up DS from Kindergarten and take him to a local Halloween farm (rides, haunted house, etc.) that we visit every year. Obviously, we have to go today or not go at all this year which doesn't seem to be an option :( Aargh - I am going to freeze!
As I stand out in the cold watching the darn rides go round and round I am going to keep saying "only one more day, only one more day" and all the other parents are going to think I am nuts!

Pamela- we just moved from MI to FL in July and I know what you mean...my mom said it was high 55! Here it is in the 80's...:sunny:
Not trying to rub it in, just saying that I understand and I would NOT think you were crazy.....
Just think....one more day! Can't wait to meet you!!

I am trying to rub it in. I tried for years to get transferred to FL and when we finally do, you are not trying to rub it in? Come one.
It is 80°+ today. Not so sunny but definitely nice. It gets to a point when you don't think that 80° is warm. Now is that weird or what?

Looks like it just may be only "us FL" people left. We're going over to the port Friday afternoon, just as soon as I can get all those little 1st graders out the door at 2:00.
I think DH has packed just about everything. YIPPPPPEEEEE!
Everyone be safe!!!!!

Oh no, there are at least a few of the Colorado people left, too.
I packed all day yesterday, my mom for Phoenix and DH for Tampa today, then the kids and me for Friday to make sure I did not have to go out to buy a new suitcase. I gave up on our two largest suitcases since the airlines always hassle me about being overweight. I needed to make sure I could pack the rest in three small suitcases. Now I just need to get mom to the hairdresser, kids to school, finish the school stuff, go to the bank(s), pick up the cleaning, go to the pharmacy, call the scofflaw parents from the fundraiser one more time, distribute 200 pieces of political literature, cancel the milk, call the housesitter, pick all the tomatoes still left (will it freeze while we are gone?), dye my hair, clean off the chipped polish, rake the leaves....
I wish it would just freeze here and get it over with. We have actually had a beautiful fall, perfect weather (it normally freezes in September and kills everything). Seems strange to leave when the weather still feels like summer.

Of course while I am sitting here at WORK they call me to tell me they are walking on to Splash Mountain. I am so jealous. One day left of work. All my packing is done so I am ready to go. I tried not to overpack but I still think I did. I have 1 large suitcase and 1 medium suitcase (not filled but for souveniers!!)
Meet you all in 2 days.

We are still here also! I have 1.5 hours of work left. Then take DS to his fiddle lesson. Dinner, last minute packing and TRY to get to bed early since we are leaving the house at 4:30AM. It has been a VERY stressful day - I got into work to find the DSL connection down and spent the first 2 hours getting that solved (it was the phone company).
Just got DS back from Kindergarten and the teachers decided not to give him any work except the world map he is going to have people he meets sign showing where they are from.
Looking forward to seeing everyone the day after tomorrow!

The DISNEY DUDETTES:earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: all made it home safe & sound. It was a great trip home. We got to the airport so early that we changed our flight to the 9:55 AM flight & then got upgraded to first class (free of charge).
The cruise:boat: was the greatest! It started with meeting our old friends coming off the Disney cruise in the parking lot. Then we ran into Pam when we left off our luggage. We did EVERYTHING! We went to Palo's for tea, brunch & dinner. We had pizza & souffles with Faith in the Walt Disney Suite. We also had a breakfast in the Suite with a surprise cake delivery by our server Micah who played the piano. Faith was the hostess with the mostest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only part of the cruise which was just "okay" was Costa Maya & we fixed that with Margarita's:drinking1 :drinking1 & nachos. All the Dudettes bought jewelry in Cozumel (which is always great). It was great linking our dinner reservations since we didn't spend EVERY minute together but we did spend lots of time together:grouphug:. We also were the backup singers for Darren in the talent show. He sang "Beauty School Dropout" & we were his Beautettes. We borrowed drapes from the spa & carried hairdryers & curling irons. It was so funny:tongue: .
I know I'm rambling on... Hope you all have a terrific Monday. I am off to the Orthopedic Dr. with my Mom & then have to wait for the plumber since my hot water does not last for a whole shower. Toodles:wave2: :earsgirl: JEANNE

How can I show off my tan and make my coworkers jealous if the tan is covered up with sweaters and pants. I will wear shorts and a tank top tomorrow even if it is still snowing!!!
I hope everyone had a great cruise, I know I did!!

We are back as well. Spent yesterday washing clothes and still doing it today. As Heidi said, it is snowing. What a welcome home. :(
Had a WONDERFUL cruise. Wish it wasn't over. Jeanne pretty much said everything we did.
Sorry I didn't get to meet most of you. As always, Ted and I never go to the sail away party so I think I missed the DIS meet and greet. I met a few at the terminal though. Never really crossed paths with too many. Saw Patrick quite a bit however.
Got lots to do today. Hope you all enjoyed the cruise as much as we did!

It was great getting to know you on this cruise. Sorry we didn't get to say a proper goodbye at the port - I guess it was hectic for all of us!
Sandy, we too missed seeing some of the DIS'ers, but again, we all had a busy time aboard ship - I don't think I slept more than 3 hours most nights.
We also didn't get to see Chris and Cheri saturday morning, or to return the extra 'goodies' from the party! ;) I guess I owe you guys a couple bottles of bubbly!
I hope everyone had a safe trip home!

Yeah, sorry beano....things got all confused...i originally thought i was riding with steve and dana to the airport then all the sudden i was catching the bus....although olivia and brittany kept me company so i was in good hands. Next year i will try not to be sick. I really wanted to hang out with everyone much more but i guess it was so overwhelming for me since i had never been i wanted to see and do everything, but now that i got that out of my system I will hang out more. It was great meeting kammy, tim, you, your wife and kids, great bunch of people. Next year will be awesome, more time at sea and time to spend with those that count.

I had a great time partying with you and Ronnie Jo, Dana, Steve, Kamy, Tim, Denise (Love the Sombrero!), John, Pamela, Dan, Patrick. (I've got some pretty good pictures from "the party" that I might part with for a price :teeth:
Pamela, thanks for the awesome web site and scheduling the school stop and ruin tour. Cassie talks about going on vacation with Darrah again.
Sorry to hear about that snow Pooh-friend. We had bad weather today here, too. It didn't get sunny until 10:00 and didn't hit 75 until 2:00. :hyper:

Hi all...we finally made it back home today. It helped ease the agony of leaving the cruise by staying at WDW for a couple days. But then it was still hard to leave...and now I have to go to work tomorrow. Yuck! :(
Sorry about the confusion Pat...thought we'd figured out the transportation arrangements at dinner/breakfast. Kamy, Tim and us went over to the buses to say good-bye, but we missed you. We would have loved to have spent more time with you and have you meet some of my family, but it sounds like you had plenty of company at the airport...Olivia and Brittany were very nice.
Hey Beano & RonnieJo - We miss you! It was very cool hanging with you all this cruise...thanks for making us feel like family. :) Now we just have to figure out a way to see you guys more than once a year. :)
Hey Cheri & Chris - missed saying goodbye to you guys. Thought we might run into you at WDW, but didn't. Hope you had a good time. :)
John & Denise - Very nice seeing you all again. Loved the sombrero. You guys look just as happy as you were 3 years ago when we first met you. :)
Well, gotta spend some time with my "kids", Madden has grown quite a bit since we left...and I think we have a little bit of training that we need to re-do...but for the most part, it's great seeing them again.
It was great meeting everyone...Heidi, Dudettes, Pamela(by the way...if I didn't say it at sailaway...it was very nice of you to make the name tags...they worked great!) and I know that I didn't get to meet everyone or see you more than once.
Well, take care everyone...when is it too early to start planning our next vacation? LOL

Just wanted to say "Good Morning":sunny: & get out & vote. I do not have to go back to REALITY until tomorrow when I have to go back to work::( . Some bits of reality hit me yesterday when the dryer will cost $150.00 to fix & the plumber was here for the hot water heater (bill will come later).
Going to Long Beach, California, on New Year's Eve to visit my daughter & may plan a little four day cruise while out there. It won't be a Disney Cruise & it won't have my friends on board but it could be a nice mother/daughter bonding time.
Hope you all have a great day. Toodles:wave2: :earsgirl: JEANNE

Well, a short note from Lynx and Impala
I can only echo all the words Beano, Pam and others have said. It was a GREAT cruise and wonderful to meet you all. We spent 2 days at WDW to try and ease ourselves back into the bad old grey world. We did the new stitch escape .... it was fun, and the adventurers club on PI.
So now we are both back at work, depressed, its raining and now looking forward to the next cruise the 7 day eastern, in Feb 06. Although something tells me we will be going back before then.
Next trip... Monterey CA for thanksgiving....:-)
Hope to see you all again soon...

Hi Everyone!
We got back late Saturday night - but we are still trying to recover :)
On Sunday we were busy with laundry, carving pumpkins and trick-or-treating. Yesterday, I was trying to catch up at the office. Sunday's weather wasn't too bad, but yesterday and today have been 46 degrees, overcast, rainy and just plain yucky! On the plus side, Dan & I are going to Orlando Thursday night (he has a conference next week and we are going to have a long weekend at WDW for just us!)
The cruise was great and we all had a wonderful time. So great, that we rebooked for the same cruise next year. We'll be on the Magic again for the Oct 22 Western. We are repeating the western in hopes of getting to Grand Cayman this time and because we had such a great time snorkeling at Cozumel. Next time, we may not even bother to get off the ship at Key West - we'll see...
We really enjoyed meeting so many fellow DISers on board. I hope everyone has made it home safely.
Tinkerfun: Julie, did you ever find your camera? How is Rob's ankle? I hope those events didn't spoil your vacation ....
Soccermom-Cheri - I just sent you an email that is sharing an Ofoto photo album with you. There are a couple really cute pictures of Cassie.
Skylynx and Impala: Let us know when you have time to get together. I'll get photos onto a CDROM for you. Did you get any at the wine party? My camera seems to have been in some weird mode and everything is blurry....
I have started writing my trip report. It looks like it will be VERY long. It is already on page 4 and I haven't quite finished the first day! I'll let you all know when I finally finish and post it.

Hello, Everyone
Skylynx here, muttering about the miserable Eeyore weather and the amount of stuff to catch up with. I haven't even unzipped the laundry bag yet...guess I'm waiting for spontaneous combustion to eliminate the whole unpleasantness for me.
It was wonderful to meet everyone...Beano & RonnieJo, thanks for letting us defile the elegance of the Roy suite with frat party behavior and my garish sombrero.
Cheri, Tim, Kamy, et. al. guess it is safe to say you all lived up to expectations!
Dana and Steve, it was so nice to see you again, and it was pretty funny to bump into you and the rest of the gang again at the Adventurer's Club post-cruise. I have no doubt our paths will cross again, and that's a nice thought to consider.
Pamela and Dan...what can I say, but let's get together again soon! Who'd have thought you'd need to go on a cruise to Mexico to make some great friends in your own neighborhood?
:-) Yes, I did get some great (read: incriminating) pictures at the DIS cocktail party. The one of Dan in the sombrero has already been submitted to USA Today. (No, not really.) We'll make our CDs too and have a CD swap-a-rama Real Soon!
Dudettes...LOVED the flamingo capris at the sailaway gala!
We have decided that the only way to definitively recover from disembarkation depression is to have another cruise booked before we leave the ship. We're booked on the Feb 4, 2006 (wow, that seems far away) Eastern cruise. Though as John said, I have a feeling we'll be on another before then, even if it's another 4 day Wonder to placate the kids who didn't get to go on this one.
Reality bites, but we can at least start a new countdown ticker and early roll call thread. Plus we've got about sixteen million digital files to print off, and the scrapbook to do, crushed items in the luggage to identify, etc...
soccerdad-Chris
11-04-2004, 11:21 AM
Hi All!!
Reality does indeed suck. That was confirmed when we got off the ship on Saturday and there were messages waiting for me from my boss telling me to be in New York the next day. So much for easing back into normal life. Oh, well.
Anyway, it was great getting to meet the whole gang on this cruise (Beano, Renee, Kamy, Tim, Dana, Steve, Pamela, Dan, Carla, Brad, etc. etc. etc.). I hope everyone had as much fun as we did! If we're lucky, we'll hook up together again on future cruises.
It's also too bad that it sounds like Sat morning bedlam prevented a lot of us from saying proper good-byes.
I don't know who all has booked your next cruise or for when, but we'll be in SR 8532 on the 10/29/05 Eastern cruise.
I'm already counting the days (from NY, unfortunately).

Hey Beano..thanks for posting your cruise photos, I really enjoyed looking at them...
Especially since I lost my digital camera on Castaway Cay, with over 230 phots on it of our week at WDW and our week on the cruise. (It was our first trip to WDW and our first cruise.)
At least I have 4 photos from shutters, one from Planet Hollywood and 2 underwater cameras filled with pictures of fish!
My husband still has his memories of his sprained ankle from the day before CC and is kind of glad I don't have those photos...although I do have the bill!
But, we still had a wonderful time and have re-booked for 10/2006.
Sorry I didn't get to really meet you guys, but we got a lot of great family time in and the DIS boards really help us prepare.
