We have 8, 6, almost 3 year old kids. We will be in WDW 12/30-1/3. Originally I planned on Epcot for New Year's Eve, but have come to the realization that the kids will NEVER make it that late (never have made it to NYE at home yet).
Any suggestions on how to spend NYE keeping in mind we will probably have to be back at our Resort by 9:30 or so?
It would be nice if my wife & I could see fireworks from our resort window with the kids in bed. Suggestions on where to stay to make this happen (currently booked aat Coronado, but there are some rooms available at some of the deluxe).

Hi. We will be traveling with a 5 year old and twin 2 1/2 year olds from 12/27-1/04 staying at the Beach Club Villas. Our plans for NYE are to have dinner @ 7:30pm at the Yachtsmen Steakjoiuse and then move along to the Boardwalk and surrounding areas of Crescent Lake. We plan on that being a non-park day to avoid the crowds, as we are going to to play miniature golf, go to Downtown disney and put the kids down for a very late nap (like 3 or 4pm)- that way they wil be more likely to stay awake. If they don't stay awake- we have reserved a EPCOT view room at the BCV and we will celebrate NYE in our villa with a balconey view of Illumiations and the World fireworks. Whatever you choose to do- the magic of being at WDW for NYE and with your family will be the most fun of all!

MarkLem,
Actually, EPCOT is the perfect place to celebrate with kids (except maybe for the crowd levels). Around the world showcase, they celebrate NYE according to when it is NYE in the actual country. For France, it is 6pmEST. For the UK, it is 7PM. Then, at 7:30pm, they have an Illuminations show. Last year, I think it was around 5:30pm they passed out hats and noise makers--which was a big hit with the kids! After Illuminations, you can take the kids back to the room. BCV is probably about the most convenient place to stay if you are planning to go to EPCOT on NYE. We stayed there last year and it was really nice to walk back from EPCOT. (We'll be there again this year, too!)
