I 'am so overwhelmed as too the love that you all have brought to Sylvia, Nick, my daughters and I.
Dan and Pete ... and to who ever else is responsible in gettin her to Disney.... i want to thank you from the bottom of my heart .. i ment so much to her .... and it was a dream come true ... and you were so helpful and didnt even know her ... i was in aw of the response then ... you can imagine the aw that im in now .... The dis people a certanly a special bunch of people ... they havent made a word in any language as to how special you all are ... I would like to thank you all for helping me and Sylvias mom get thru this ... you have been a inspiration to us both and we will never forget you .. you have touched our hearts and soul ... Dan, it is so very good to see your message here. Sylvia's passing has touched us all more than we are ever likely to be able to say, but her presence here beforehand was such a gift and inspiration to so many. It was a real privilege to say we 'knew' her via her contributions here on the DIS, and she is a great loss in so many ways.

However, if Nick has inherited her spirit and compassion for others, I am pretty sure he will also grow into a very special and caring person in his own right, even if he has been deprived of his mother's love at far too early an age. It is heartening to hope and think that Sylvia's legacy will be maintained in this way.

I truly cannot imagine what you have been through and still have to to bear, but it is with the most fervent hope that we at the DIS have helped in some small way and can continue to do so in future that I trust you - and Nick, in time - will be able to contribute here in future.

You are truly an amazing man, one I have been able to share a bit with over the past months while Sylvia fought her valiant battle. I have enjoyed talking to you at times on ICQ, at home, and the last few weeks at the hospital. You have been such a support to Sylvia over the years of her illness, as was the DIS. I know of a couple where the man left the woman because she had a mastectomy and "wasn't attractive" to him anymore. He thought her illness was too much for him and imposed on his needs. She was left alone to suffer! Can you imagine?!
