Is there anything that you can do when the Bloat Fairy takes up residence at your house? I KNOW that's what it is as TOM is coming and I was down 2 1/2 lbs earlier this week, and the past few days I've only been down less than 1/2 lb. I'd still like to have a good weigh in tomorrow does anything help? Does drinking more water help? Less water? Or do you simply have to wait until she decides to leave? Hope someone has the ANSWER!! :)

Don't know that I have the ANSWER but unfortunately we have to accept that it's a fact of life :(

I keep saying I'm going to try some Premsyn PMS. It says "relieves the symptoms PMS: teniosn, bloating, cramps, headache, backache, irritability, and water weight gain"

sounds like a dream!! I'm not a 'medicine person', I don't usually pop pills for a headaches etc. I actually bought this and it sits in my med cabinet! I need to set it out in my bathroom for that time.

As an aside for anyone on birthcontrol pills/patch..
I heard about a new pill 'Seasonal' (?) that you only have 4 periods a year:p . My doctor said I can do the same with my patch. He said women have been doing this themselves for years and there is no problem with fetility problems etc. I do 2 patch packs in a row (so my TOM is actually every other month!!) He said there is no problem with heavier periods or more intense PMS and I have had no problems or have not noticed any difference except lots longer between my (.) So talk to your doctor about it..

I am afraid to say I have never found anything to work with the exception of waiting until the next weeks weigh-in. The week after I usually always see a drop of some kind.

I as well haven't found anything that helps during that time. I just have to wait it out and do my best to get back to the exercising the week after. I usually feel so bad that I can't get my exercise in during TOM. I will look forward to anyone that has additional tips and suggestions. I already take the Evening Primrose along with my other Vitamins and usually up the amount of EP during that time.

I just drink extra water and try to get in more exercise (even though I usually don't feel like it) ... and then I hope for the best :p

I've heard about this pill too ... sounds interesting, but I don't think it's available in Canada yet. I will have to ask my doctor about taking two pill packs in a row ... I've only done that once to adjust my cycle for a vacation. I could definitely go for a period every other month :)

I've tried lots of different things and unfortunately nothing works for me. Now I just look forward to the WF paying me a visit :hyper:

I think you will have to wait it out, at least you should have a great weigh in for the following week:sunny:

Thanks for all of the support everyone! You guys are the best! I guess I'll hope for the best tomorrow at weigh in and then wait for the Whoosh Fairy :wizard: to visit next week! And the idea for taking BCP back to back is a great one, I have used that for vacation and doing that more often sounds GREAT to me! Thanks again everyone!
