While I didn't see her, Ming-Na was at Brown Derby on 10/10/03 - she signed the book at the Brown Derby, thanking them for a fantastic meal. She is from Mulan and TV's ER!

Most of you probably never heard of him before but... when my DH and I were on our honeymoon in Oct '92 we saw Steve Harris (He's the bass player for the heavy metal band Iron Maiden). He was with his wife and children by Splash Mountain in MK. We did not want to approach him for an autograph or anything since he was obviously just trying to enjoy MK with his family.

Not really a sighting but kinda kewl. Last year, when we were at Flower Power and Davy Jones was performing Davy came out into the crowd and actually ate someone's food. He was singing and said, "That looks good." He took it had a couple of bites and gave it back!

Just back from WL. DH, DS8, and I went to the Cape May Cafe for Breakfast on 11/7/03. We had heard that a lot of the soap stars were staying at YC/BC, so I kept my eyes moving and saw Chad Brannon (Zander on GH) Since he was just waiting in line and so were we, I went up to him to say hello. He shook hands with all of us, and was very polite. We chatted for a few minutes and he was really friendly. My DS said to take a picture but I said no, he was there for breakfast, not pictures. We should have asked him to join us, because he seemed to be alone, and then later we saw him sitting with another family. We stayed out of MGM on the weekend (DS and DH have no interest in soap stars) so it was neat seeing someone from the soap world.

we saw Montel Williams! Right outside Tower of Terror he was filming a short clip with 2 attractive young women. He was in the bushes sneaking up behind them as part of the clip. The CMs did a goog job of keeping people away and not allowing pictures. Man, did Montel look goooooooood!!! Trim and muscular--way better than on TV.

I didn’t see any Hollywood celebrities on my last trip; however, I did catch a glimpse of two of the Webmasters here on the Dis. And one of them gave a Dis keychain (click here). (http://www.disshop.com/product.asp?0=206&1=239&3=114) to my daughter.
Oh, Kay!

I saw Edware James Olmos being attacked by two pirates!
After riding the Pirates of the Caribean(sp?) DS5 and DS3 wanted the pirate hats and swords. The following morning, we decided to walk from YC to Disney Studio (By the way, it's too long a walk. We ended up taking a boat at Swan.) Along the way, we met up with a gentleman. The boys with their hats and swords rushed up to him, giggling and brandishing their swords, and said, "We are going to scare you." The gentleman smiled and said, "Oh, I am so scared." The boys then said, "Sorry!" We exchanged smiles and went our separate ways.
Four hours later, we met him again at Sci-fi diner waiting to be seated. DH then turns to me and said, "That's the guy from Galactica." "Huh?" "The new Sci-Fi channel show?" A blank stare. "The guy from the math movie?" "Oh, Edward James Olmos?" "That's him." I looked over surreptiously and indeed that was him. Then I remembered that he was one of the CP narrators. He was with a group of people, most likely his family.
DH went and talked to him about Galactica a little. He was very nice to DH and remembered our boys from the morning and talked to them too.:D

I do not remember this actor's last name. He plays the new vice president on West Wing, I believe his first name is Gary. I saw him checking in at Yacht Club on Sat. Dec. 20.

IN October we saw Wayne Brady taping a commercial for the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival. The Disney suits were trying to keep the public away from Mr. Brady but eager fans still found a way to get to him. I yelled to him, "Congratulations on your Emmy!" as he passed by; he turned to me, gave me a HUGE smile and said, Thank you!". My husband (who watches the reruns of Whose line is it Anyway" on ABC Family) was like a giddy school kid seeing Wayne Brady. I have to admit, it was really fun!

Donny Osmond in the lobby of the Contemporary. I think it was 1999. He was obviously staying there and leaving...he said hello to my husband.
Then, he went outside and got in a mini-van with his family.

I was at the AKL concierge last Tuesday and had just been to
the Candlelight Processional the nite before and lo and behold
stirring his coffee right next to me was Robby Benson, the
CP's narrator! I couldn't help but say to him how great his narration was and he looked at me and said Thank you very much...Then he went over with his coffee and newspaper and
started reading at one of the concierge table. I don't know if I
was the only one that noticed him, but I didn't want to bother
him or call attention to him(he was kind of incognito with cargo
pants,t-shirt and reading glasses) Anyway, I thought it was pretty cool! He was the best at narrating the Christmas Story,
I want him to come to my house and read to my kids!!LOL

We saw Dominique Wilkins (former NBA star) at DTD about 12 years ago. It was in a store and at first I was not sure it was him. So I went up to him and asked him if he was Dominique Wilkins and at first he said "No." So I went back to shopping and he came over about 2 minutes later and apologized and said he gets approached all the time. I said I understand and we chatted for about 5 minutes.

nearly every time we go.
This time (over the Holidays) we were two "cars" behind Kristin Storm (Zenon) - (Days of our Lives) on Snow White. We also saw Barry Bonds...but he was in the parade. There were ALOT of Ambassadors that trip, so who knows who we saw that we didn't know who they were!
Our favorite sighting, has to be Halloween time, 1998. We saw AEROSMITH...yes...most of the band...including Steve Tyler...shopping at the Lego Store! It was so funny to see them there!

WHO: Clint Eastwood
WHERE: The hallway (our floor) of the Beach Club upon our arrival.
WOW!!!! Very exciting....apparently he was there for a celebrity golf tournament....anyway, it definately "made our day" and was the highlight of our trip, sadly, as we all got deathly ill for the duration of our stay! :(

I was visiting a patient today, and they were watching The View. According to the show, the youngest one, Elizabeth, was at WDW the past few days. She gave gifts to her co-stars, and will be describing her trip in detail on Thursday. She was there with 6 or 7 other girls. Anyone see her?

ya know it's beyond me how people get pictures, lol
If I saw someone who LOOKED like someone else, I'd probably be too embarassed to say.. "Hi, Are you Rosie Odonnell?" etc.. or whoever it may be. What if it's not? Then I'd feel like a weenie...LOL
I guess their used to it though huh? the only Big name person in WDW when I was there---- was me of course :) KIDDING!

Samantha Brown (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=475627) of Travel Channel fame, during the first night of MVMCP last year.
saw Wayne Brady performing at the AKL for the Disney Christmas special and....Dee Dee Ramone (from ..you got it...The Ramones!) almost ran into us with his kids and a Disney staff person that was taking them in the back way to Dinosaur.

George W. Bush showed up at the Grand Floridian for a luncheon in the conference center when we were staying at GF last November 2003. It was a trip to have secret service and TV cameras all over the resort! Kind of unnerving. (someone one here complained about the carts at GF, imagine them loaded with secret service guys...kind of scary!) He also booked a room and was in there for much of the afternoon after the lunch, and I think spent some time at MK early in the morning.
Someone else saw James Hetfield from Metallica and his daughter at 1900 park fare at GF, standing in line to get in, but I did not see him personally.

Last November the 18th (Mickey's 75th birthday) we saw Michael Eisner walking through the UK in Epcot. We were at the counter service of Rose and Crown buying a 1/2 yard of beer. He asked my DH, "how's the beer?". I thought it was pretty cool. He is also pretty tall. Funny thing though, he was wearing make-up from his earlier telecast at the MK. :earboy2:

While staying at Pop Century this September I saw one of the members of the hair metal band Ratt waiting on line to go to the Animal Kingdom. Im only 21 so I had no idea who he was but my mother and Aunt pointed him out to me. Not really a "celebrity" of the recent times, but it was still interesting.
Also on the way back from my trip last year I was on the same plane as Dee Snyder from Twisted Sister. Not a resort sighting but I figured what the heck Ill throw that one in there. :)

I went to Disney World in November of 1999 and while waiting for the spectrolight parade to begin we saw Wayne Brady shooting a comercial. Complete with the fake snow. lol
As soon as it wrapped, he grabbed his mother and several bodyguards wisked him away. The crew cleaned up the snow so fast, in less than 5 minutes you would have never guessed anything had happened.

On a trip in 1998, I saw NBA player Grant Hill at the Boardwalk. It was raining, and he was standing under an overhang trying to decide where to go next. He initiated some conversation with my dad and then took off. We saw him later at the ESPN Club.
While on the WDW College Program, we would go on mad celebrity hunts when we heard they were on property. The two resorts most often mentioned were the GF and Y&BC. Funny that several people have seen John Stamos, because he was there when I was (along with his then-wife). Maybe ABC had given him a lifetime pass or something!!!
I've also met several celebrities in the parks (98 degrees, Debulah Morgan, Monica, etc.) when they have done autograph sessions.
When the Planet Hollywood location opened, I heard there were tons of celebrities there. We only ran into Pauly Shore, dude. :D
Great thread!!!

Oops - forgot to add that on our trip in Nov 04, we saw Christina Auegulera's (sp?) sister shooting Disney vacation videos. I believe they must have been in Portuguese??? We saw here at MGM, Epcot and Typhoon Lagoon. I assume the guy that was shooting the video with her was "someone" too, but I did not recognize him.

Back in the 70's, we were staying at the Poly during the Christmas season. That is when they were having the Candlelight Pro in the Magic Kingdom. One night when we were going up a set of stairs at the Ploly, Rock Hudson who was one of the narrators walk right past us. Also, about 5 years ago we were at the GF and saw George Forman being carted to his room. He went right past me and I said to my dad, Hey, its George Foreman. He never looked my way. Finally, just about every trip we go to WDW, we see the biggest celebrity of all. The mouse himself, MICKEY.

While staying at the GF last year (2004), my best friend and I were in the elevator heading to dinner at V&A when the door opened and Cher walked in with 4 body guards. She smiled when she walked in and was quite gracious and dressed very nicely. My friend and I were like holy s**t, is that Cher? My buddy started humming "if I could turn back time" and she turned around to us and said "sing it, dont hum it" We all just laughed and she asked us how we were doing and where we were heading all dressed up. We told her we were going to dinner and V&A and she said she was going there also to dine with one of her managers. She asked us if we would like to walk there with her and we were like Hell Yeah.
Her body guards surrounded us and we were on our way. My buddy and I felt like superstars because everyone was stopping and staring and taking pictures and we were in them. Cher was quite nice to everyone and posed for pictures (again we were in them too) As we entered V&A, the staff immediatly requested to take her to her awaiting table. We thanked her for being so nice anf for making our night and excused ourselves. She asked the dining room captain where we were sitting. She then walked with us to our table and the looks on the other peoples faces in the dining room were amazing. We said that meeting her was a true pleasure and something we would never forget.
As we dined, my buddy and I were just so amazed at what happened. To top things off, as Cher left V&A, Cher came back to the table along with her body guards and said the dining experience was on her. We were speechless.
We would run into Cher a few more times during the visit and she always would said hello. We also would find alot of people pointing and staring at us at the GF being overheard saying those are Chers friends.
It was a true magical experience for us amd something we would never forget.

I have also seen Bob Saget from Full house , Huey Lewis, Axel Rose, Gary Coleman,Mr T ,Jordan and Jon Knight from the New Kids ,plus I did some hanging and banging( Working out) with the Hulkster! ( That what the Hulk likes to call working out). If your wondering how the heck I have seen all of these celebs well the reason is that I spend alot of the time when I am at WDW sitting pool side getting a good tan around the Grand Floridian's pool. This is where you see most of the celebs during the day.
You're the second person to say that they saw Gary Coleman. Trust me he's no celebrity. He came from my town and even they don't claim him. There is no sign or mention of him anywhere. Same with Mr.T also. He lived in the next town over and is remembered for cutting down 100 year old trees in a posh neighborhood and making his mansion look tacky and run down. When he lost it due to money problems the city almost had to tear it down due to how he maintained it.
I was pretty sure I saw Danny Devito when MGM first opened in May 1989 when I was down there but I don't bother celbrities because they have privates lifes too. He was in the restaurant in the CR that is now called Cailfornia Grill. It wasn't called that back in 1989 when I ate there and I forgot what it was called but other people who ate there noticed him also.

We were staying at the Wilderness Lodge in 1994 and had the pleasure of having a room near Robert Ulrich. He was a narrarator at Epcot and has staying in our hotel. Rode the elevator a couple of times with him - OMG he was sooo handsome and tall!! Very nice man. There were alot of celebs that weekend - it was the grand opening of Planet Hollywood, so they were everywhere. Arnold and Maria, Roseanne Barr, Ally Sheedy, a whole bunch. That year we also saw Gallagher in MGM. No one recently though.

Doug Flute at the WL in 2003. We were going throught the line at Roaring Forks for breakfast and I noticed him up ahead. I said to DH, Isn't that Doug Flute? You know Flute flakes. And he said, no, that guys too small. When he got a better look, he noticed that it was him. I think that's funny considering he's the football fan.

In 1997, my family and some family friends were all staying at the CR. We were riding in the front of the monorail and had just pulled into the GF. One of the attendents opened the door and told the driver that Farrah Fawcett had just pulled up downstairs. None of us kids knew who they were talking about but the adult who was riding with us jumped up and was looking out the window. Apparently he loves Farrah Fawcett because he started pointing going "there she is! there she is!"

I've been wondering if anyone else has seen any celebrities - we were at Indiana Jones stunt show in March 1997 and were waving our hands to be picked for the member of the audience participation and just as they pointed out to us - the guy in front of us stood up and said "who? me?"" and they said no the people behind you. Then the other CM said "wait!! Aren't you Dan Marino?". And of course he got picked ;)
How exciting to hear others have seen celebrities also.
We saw Alicia keys at the Swan July 17 when we were checking in, we decided to rest on the sofa and she was walking where the swan fountain is outdoor between the buildings. She had 2 body guards in front and back. The fountain is on the outside but can be only accessed once you enter the swan. She was walking from one door to another. :earseek: :earseek:

Last year we were swimming at the Swan pool and watched an interview with Nick Carter, then they sat along the walkway and took some photos with the rest of his group. Then on another trip we ate at the table next to Jon Secada at the Yahtsman. (I would never have known, but my friend did)

This didn't happen at WDW... but about 2 months ago I had a very interesting conversation with a fellow who turned out to be the new Mr Sandra Bullock. He had this disgusting graphic on the side of his very expensive boat brought in for maintenance near my office. I felt no need to hide my disgust when he asked me what I thought. He took it well, though!
Of course, no one bothered to tell me who he was until I walked away! :flower:

Well, it wasn't at WDW but I saw Pam Anderson at Disneyland in 2003. We had just eaten breakfast at the Grand Californian and she was walking with her 2 sons and her mother. They looked like they were getting a personal tour. She was wearing sweats and had sun glasses on. Her sons were running around excited just like my kids were.

GREAT thread!! Ok, lemme see here, I saw Regis and Kelly in the MK 2 years ago. 4 years ago, I walked right out of the Grand Californian with Kathi Ireland!!
My next one is not really a celeb, but she is a news lady from Philadelphia. Her name is Karen Rogers and she was in the AK. We actually said somthing to her and the supervisor asked if we wanted to do a little segment with her. Of course we said yes. So they took us over to Dinoland and gave us some lines to read. It was aired during the Thanksgiving day parade at home. :earsboy:

Ok, where were you when I needed a Celebrity friend call in for me to a local radio station to win Aerosmith/KISS tickets for me a few years back?? LOL
I put a request out on the DIS just incase there were some hidden celebs but alas, I didn't get any takers!
Are you speaking of the Surreal Life that is airing now or the previous one? Now would be Peppa of Salt and Peppa (she is just too sweet on that show) and in the last one would be Da Brat....hmmmm now you have my mind going....lol
But I don't remember anyone that is related being on the Surreal life together.

I've watched most if not all of the Surreal Life episodes (guilty pleasure!), and I think there have only been two female rappers, Da Brat and Pepa. I remember an episode from last season that had Da Brat having a guest over and it was an actress I've seen in a couple movies (although I'm sure she's done many.) I'm not sure if you want it spilled, but her name starts with an "L" if it's who I'm thinking it is. She's a very beautiful actress that I first saw in a movie with the initials "TPC" that came out some years back. She's also in a new movie that just came out with Queen Latifah in it. And I'm pretty sure she's related to Da Brat (cousin/sister/half sister?) But who knows, I might wrong! :p
This is a really fun thread!! I'm going to DW in October and it would be neat to see someone famous. I probably wouldn't approach them unless it was a personal favorite celebrity that I would want to just say hi and that I enjoy their work. I wouldn't want to make a scene, though. I just put this on another thread (that doesn't have responses as of yet) but I saw Oprah at Disneyland filming a show there. She was walking around, seeming like a complete sweetie, and acknowledged us with a nice smile. A few years ago, Oprah took her audience to Walt Disney World. I don't know where she put them up, but I do remember that she stayed at the Grand Floridian. A few audience members found out what room she was staying in and surprised her with a visit. She ordered munchies from Private Dining and turned their visit into a little party. She aired it on her television show.

OK-these were not at Disney but.....I was in Chicago for the marathon and my Mom came with me to look after my DD(7 )while I ran.I hired a car to drive them around to different corners (my Mom is in her late 70"s) so they could see us and then meet us at the finish. On one corner they were waiting and this nice lady started talking to them, offered to let them use her bathroom in her apartment, let them in to warm up, get my daughter a scarf and mittens as it was cold etc... My mom said she was just lovely! She was John Belushi's (sp?) Aunt! She said he and his brother were very very good to her. Then, the next year I was on the elevator at the hotel the doors opened and Micheal Douglas was standing there-he didn't get on-he was waiting for someone who wasn't ready yet-but he said hi and was very pleasant.

Hey I just wanted to add my story. I just got back from a week at GF and saw Lou Diamond Philips! I am a HUGE fan so my husband came running to get me and told me to hurry up and that he was in Gasperilla's (I was on my way but dilly dallying). We didn't bother him, but I was in line right behind him (he was with his wife and kids and they were just getting in for his CP the next three nights). Later this week (on friday) we saw him and his son walking around the lobby of the GF just shopping and stuff. He was super nice to the CM who waited on him in Gasperilla's and the CM was THRILLED to see him you could tell! He looked great and smiled and no one bothered him. I wonder if that was a good thing or a bad thing. I wanted to at least let him know he was appreciated, but then again was unsure if he wanted to be bothered especially with his family. I oppted to just let him be, he knows he's got fans, why make a big deal, it was nice enough to be that close to him, lol.

Wow, that is such a great story. :wizard: I would have passed out if I saw Cher at the GF. :hyper:

We were waiting for Spectro to start and I turned and saw him hurriedly pushing an empty stroller along the sidewalk. Since it was just them my wife asked if he was indeed Mr. Phillips, he was very gracious and said just call him Lou, she then told him we saw his performance at the CP and thought he was wonderful, he talked about doing the CP and wished them a happy holidays when they got off the elevator on the 4th floor. This was back in 1989. My mom had taken my brother and myself down to Disney for our first trip. I was on headed to meet up with them at the MVMCP and in the same Monirail car was Daryll Strawberry and his family. Me being an 17yr old girl and not to into sports didn't know who he was until we got off and people started coming up to him. :confused3
On this same trip we were walking by a sleigh they had set up for you to take your picture on and we couldn't figure out why it was so crowded all of a sudden. Well, when we were able to see what the fuss was it was Julio Iglesias. If I remember right my mom was really excited to see him.
Then on are last trip if you looked back up Main Street over all the heads you could see Regis and Kelly taping the Christmas Parade.

He was looking away a lot, and it took me a minute to place the face, and then I looked back over and it hit me who he was. I saw the look on his face, like o man, she recognizes me, here it comes..... At that moment, I just felt sorry for the guy. He so obviously wanted to be left alone. Who wants to deal with fans at like 1 am? I was coming back to the CR from Epcot and they got on at the TTC and got off at the GF. He relaxed when I just smiled and leaned back in my seat. Just as they were getting off, he looked over his shoulder to me and tipped his hat. I took that as a "Thank you". They looked so happy I just couldn't bother them.

This month there was a celebrity Fairy Tale Weddings vow renewal at Walt Disney World (click here (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1459424)). The vow renewal couple, Ms. Charytín Goyco and Mr. Elin Ortiz, stayed in the BoardWalk Inn’s Steeplechase Suite. As a matter of fact, video footage of Ms. Charytín preparing for her big day was shared on her television show, "Escandalo TV."
