need some advice. i saw delta has 109 dollar non stop both ways flights to tampa from hartford. to mco it is 200 dollars. i am really tempted to do tampa with 4 people but am concerned as we are going for only 4 nights and want to do three days at us/ioa and sea world for maybe 1.5 days. we would get into tampa at 111o am and leave for home in the late afternoon. we are staying at hrh with fotl which rocks I hear! should i just wait for a possible price drop to mco? my main concern is lenght of time from airport to hrh..thanks

For the extra hour drive, I think it's worth flying into Tampa to save that much money. What if the fare to Orlando doesn't come down for your dates?

Go for it. I always use the Tampa airport...I much prefer it to MCO

You will be flying in at a good time to avoid major traffic of Tampa! I say go for it! You won't have to pay outrageous Orlando-tourist gas prices, or food prices, and so you have an hour-hour and a half drive to get to Orlando...big deal! You will get to see areas of Florida that you may eventually want to move to. :)

Oh yeah, did I mention there's a Wal Mart right off the interestate as you are leaving the airport and heading towards Orlando? :)

We have booked that fare, and from past experience have found Tampa to be a wonderful alternative to Orlando. Tampa is a lovely airport and smaller than MCO, I find it very easy to get in and out of it.
Also, I has never taken us more than 60 mins to get from Tampa to OKW.
I would go for it.

took 45 min to book my flight because i needed to register each family member on delta's sky mile program. of course with my typing and a few errors like forgetting to check a box i had to keep going back and redoing things.

Tsi Fan,
Ok, I will ask a question and avail myself of your generous offer.
Is Eybor (sp) City still there? visited a few years ago and loved it, but, heard it burned down not long ago.
Any update would be appreciated.
Thanks.

We just spent Easter in Tampa and Ybor City is still there. It is a really neat place. We went during the day since we had young kids. They really enjoyed the big arcade they have. My brother and sister went at night and compared it to New Orleans. They had a blast!

It's "still" there okay and as popular as ever ...

When I lived in Tampa for a short time in 1992 Ybor City was just at the very beginning of its resurgence to becoming what it is now ...
