We took a deal for 4 nights at RI Seaworld for $100 in exchange for sitting through the Marriott VC presentation.

Anyone have any feedback on this? Do they take no for an answer? Is it really 90 minutes?
We've been to several for the free stuff and some have been quite ugly. We said we'd never do another but then Marriott had this offer so we said one more time!

Any feedback appreciated.

Marriott is a different breed. The "presentation" is a one-on-one tour and overview with a salesperson. They'll know right-off that you aren't really interested and give you a quick tour, give you your $100 credit, then send you on your way, probably under an hour.

They are nothing like the the used car sales hacks at the typical timeshare places who sell you on the places you can exchange to (not necessarily the home resort), load the kids up on sweets, then take a "break" so the leg-breaking sales manager can come in with the pressure pitch and the "special" offers and those funny-looking math problems.

I was so pleasantly surprised with the professionalism of the Marriott folks in Maui. I went in saying it was going to be the cheap deal and nothing else, but after a few days at the resort and seeing the quality of the product and the people, we became owners.

Marriott is nice -and if I could afford it - I would buy one - but they are expensive - very expensive - so for right now I just get one (when they are cheap enough) in the getaways that II has.

their salespeople are generally low key - although there was one person that was very upset with this salesman - when I was there.

mind was very nice and I had no problem collecting the US/IOA tickets that were promised.

are you going to the Grande Vista or the Horizons - or do you know?

We did the presentation for the Grand Vista. A very nice place. One on one,low key-2 1/2 hrs. later we got tickets to disney and 100.00 off of either our stay or we could use the 100.00 anywhere in the resort. We chose dinner. We were staying at the MOWC at the time and had some time to kill. It wasn't that bad.

Is the timeshare presentation located inside the MOWC? I'm trying to get more info on this.

No - it will either me at the Grande Vista or Horizons - those or what they are currently selling.

they will shuttle you to the place or if you want your car you can drive.

www.tug2.net is a timeshare discussion board full of information. Buying resale is frequently the best option.

Be very careful attending these presentations. They are very good and have "easy" financing and you'll be paying $139/month before you know it! :)

Went to a Marriott presentation (not in Florida) and liked the salesperson. That was until he made the following statement "The managers had a big meeting today with us telling us they goofed with their calculations of hitting the end of the year numbers. Not to pressure you into a decision today, but if you make the decision to buy, I am authorized to give you a vacation anywhere you want."
I wasn not happy with their sales method, having stated to them upfront that we were interested in information only as we are thinking of purchasing another timeshare to complement my Disney Vacation Club.
