Annual Pass Question

Hey here's a stupid question:

Why don't the annual passes have a magnetic strip on them? I have gone through 3 of the new plastic cards because the barcode has worn off. It also takes longer for the attendant to admit me. (And we won't mention to loud what happened when i did put the card in the ticket slot by accident the first time...card came out but the turnstile's puter froze).

Anyone know? Earl/Coasterfev/anyone?

I remember my AP last year had a barcode on the back and it never scanned properly. I still remember APs from USF that had a photo they cut out and pasted onto the AP. Those never scanned right! My latest AP seems to work the best. You can't stick your AP in the slot. The attendant has to slide it through a reader in the side. I guess that is so because it forces the attendant to look at your photo.

Sorry, don't know, not my gig. All I can say is that our i.d.'s go through the turnstiles and they are mag stripe.
