We were going to stay at POR and we were going to hang out at DTD the night we arrive. Now I think we'll be at the Dolphin. I was thinking of walking over to the Boardwalk. Never being to WDW, is it fun just to walk around down there? Stuff to do? I"m guessing it's full of night life!

Any suggestions of what to do that evening would be appreciated. Our hopper passes don't start until the next day, so we can't go to the main parks.

Thanks,
Laura

There are many things to do at Boardwalk at night. There are usually performers on the boardwalk. There is ESPN for sports. JelllyRolls is a very fun place to go to for adults. There are dueling pianos there and the piano players / singers know every song written. You can walk around the Boardwalk over to the Beach Club for a ice cream at Beaches and Cream. You can rent surry bikes and ride around the boardwalk. You can also play miniature golf just past the Dolphin.

Boardwalk is one of the better places to spend time at Disney. There are many restaurants serving everything from hot dogs to pizza to excellent meals.

Have a great time.

Its a short walk over to the BW. They have games for the kids, performers, all the shops are open (ESPN Club, sweet shop, bakery), face painting, etc. You can also rent a surrey and bike over towards the YC/BC. I am not sure if the performers are there 7-days a week, I think it might only be from Tues-Sat. Also, if no kids, you can go enjoy the two night clubs.

are the night clubs pretty tame? ( espc. the piano bar one) or definite night club/dark smokey ect.?

Jellyrolls is a great place. It is not a dark, smokey hole in the wall.
It is for adults, but it is tame. Don't forget that you are still in WDW.
