Hi Gang! I am also glad the boards are back up.:teeth:

We are having a wonderful time in PCB. 1st stop on Sat night was "Billy's" for yummy oysters and fantastic Crabs! Then on Sunday we went boating and saw the wild dolphins. DN wanted to show off water skiing so we took the boat into the lagoon and she did her thing. Then...the most amazing thing happened! My DD asked if she could try:earseek: (my DD is NOT know for her adventerous spirit) DN got in the water with her and after just 4 tries she was UP!! It was not pretty, and it was not for very long, but SHE DID IT! I was SO proud of her!!:teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

We were to go canoeing today, but the weather was rainy. We head back to Charleston tomorrow:(

Congrats on the post Eric:wave:

The boards are back!! Really missed them these last 24 hours.

Saw the Jays play the Yankees last night -- we lost but not til the 10th inning so it was actually quite a good game. Lots of Yankee fans in for the games that's for sure. Unfortunately some are quite rude and quite pushy but oh well the Yankees make a lot on merchandising that's for sure. One fan got tossed from the game for interfering with a ball in play. It was funny though as he didn't get to keep the ball as Carlos Delgado dug the ball out of the guy's glove! Don't have a problem with fans catching balls but when they reach into the playing field and interfere with it that's a problem.

Raining here today.

Counting down the days til the cruise!!!

Eric...actually a hospital bill of $575,000 is not all that uncommon..the cost of healthcare is so expensive that if you don't have insurance, you could go broke real quick. Granted, not all hospital bills are that high but if you have someone with a really serious illness or transplant, or lengthly illness, bills could go even higher than that.

Hi Guys Kim here...

Just a quick FYI, I have spoken with the tour guide 2x this week and have forwarded the suggestions from everyone, they are now working on customizing the St. Thomas tour for us. Also we will not need to pay until that morning. I will post the itinerary as soon as I get it from the guys in St. Thomas.

Lenny is doing the Parasailing at CC again. We're going to try to get the 10:30 am one. Anyone else doing this?

I also noticed that the Paradise Point Tramway is the same price if booking with DCL or buying the tickets there. Since this is something that we definitely want to do, I'm thinking of just getting the tickets from DCL so I know we have them. I figured this would be a great add-on to our "private" tour that Kim is putting together.

Reneé Renee: did you book directly with DCL or with a travel agent and did the shore excursion info come straight from DCL or through your travel agent? I copied your earlier post about the Antigua excursions, are they the same? That Tram sounds pretty awesome, will we have time to do both, do you think?

I booked with DCL while on-board during the last Cruisetoberfest trip and then transferred to Dreams. The shore excursion info came directly from DCL.

I didn't check the Antigua excursions, and the search function on the boards has been disabled so I can't find my post about it.

The Tram is in St. Thomas, and I think we'll have enough time to do it along with the tour that Kim is scheduling for us.

Has anyone else received the shore excursion info from DCL?

First my computer was gone for repairs then the board was down........I'm not sure if I missed anything important, but when are we going to exchange names for the gift thingy? Is that still on? Please let me know.......I'm doing the single-digit (aka "stressed out") dance for our family sailing next weekend and need to get the gift purchased and mailed before we leave on Thursday early, early a.m.
Good news: my son from LA will be joining us....I just booked him last week and it cost a small fortune, but we'll all be together as a family again (priceless). Since none of his clothes are seaworthy we'll have to haul him over to the Orlando outlets and get him something to wear as soon as his plane gets in Friday morning. We are driving down and should be there late Thursday afternoon. The return trip home will be all 6 of us in the SUV....just like an old-fashioned roadtrip....except we're all a whole lot bigger.
If anybody has any questions they'd like me to check out on the Magic, let me know now.

Haven't received our shore excursion documents yet from DCL but maybe today. Doesn't really matter though as I'll call on Tuesday anyway.

Am taking my Dad to the baseball game tonight in the firm seats which are 17 rows back of homeplate. They are close and a good view but have to admit that Jim and I have gotten used to the cheap seats -- we've decided we like to spread out which we can do in the cheap seats since there are usually a lot of empties. We just keep moving til we have space around us! Dad's excited about seeing the game though as it's been a long time since he's seen the Jays in person.

Long weekend this weekend -- yeah!! Monday is a civic holiday for us.

Have a great day everyone!! Cruise is definately getting closer.

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't been on boards in a while. I had originally chosen to not say anything, but now I've decided to share. (Heidi, I'm sorry if you disagree with me.)

Tom moved out of our house two weeks ago. He says he's been unhappy for more than two years. He says he's seen a lawyer. Blew me completely out of the water.

The kids & I are hanging in there, but there have been so many ups & downs, :yo-yo: I can't make sense of any of it. :confused3

I have decided that I need to turn my focus away--so I'm going to focus on this vacation.

I have one huge decision to make. I have until Aug 3rd to cancel Tom's ressie with no penalty. I can also change the name for a $35 change fee. However, if the ship gets to a sold-out status (which could be at any time), I can't make any changes, no cancellations, no name changes. It's just treated as a no-show.

So the decision is, do I want to invite a friend to take Tom's place? Do I want to go just the three of us & meet you all on board? Do I want to hang on, with the hope that he'll change his mind? (65 days is a long time from now, in this scheme of things.)

I hope I didn't make anyone uncomfortable with all of this. But any input anyone is willing to share would be greatly appreciated. And we accept ALL prayers.

Thanks, Marianne

Marianne -- So sorry to hear your news. A friend of mine at work (early 40's) was shocked last Christmas when her husband told her the same thing. Said he didn't love her any more and got an apartment for himself within weeks. They have 2 children (10 & 14). The worst thing was when my brother who had been married for 35 years pulled the same thing with my SIL. He found an internet sweetie (over 40 & 300 pounds ) and left SIL. The whole family was absolutely stunned! Terry was just a quiet guy who spent a lot of time on the net (too much, I guess). Just wanted to let you know you are not alone. I would hate to give you the wrong advice, but I would either take a friend or just cancel his reservation so you don't lose the money. If the money would go back to him, don't worry about losing it. It's just that with my friend and SIL, we all thought the guys would change their minds and they never did. I am not trying to make you feel worse -- just making an observation from past experience. There seems to be some kind of "separation" virus going around. Hopefully things will end more positively for you. You will have a great time on the cruise either way. Aren't you lucky you have all your DIS friends -- for sure, you won't be alone on the cruise.

Hi Everyone,:wave2:

Back to work today. But had a great time with my sister and her family. It rained on Tuesday so we didn't get to go canoeing, but we will try again when our German friends get here.
My boss is not due back till Monday, so things are a little slow at the office.:p

Allen, PCB has changed ALOT in the last 20 years. Lots of high rise condos now. I live off Thomas Drive, about a mile from Capt. Andersons. Sunnyside is very nice, not so "built-up", but it would be a long way to drive back and forth to work everyday.:moped:
Got to run.

Marianne..so sorry for your bad news! I do hope you cruise with us. This is our 5th cruise (4th with crazy internet people) and each time someone has had some sort of family or health problem. Unemployment, cancer, death of a parent, ect. Most of the time the person was torn on going on the cruise or cancelling. Without exception, those that chose to continue with their vacation were glad they did. Taking a break from the "real"world is a wonderful way to catch your breath and relax. Your kids also need some "mom" time and a cruise is a wonderful way to do that. If you decide to bring a friend, wonderful...but if you chose to go with just the kids, you will have lots of people to chat, eat and drink with!
However it works out, please know we are thinking about you and your family and are sending prayers and pixie dust your way!

Marianne: I'm so sorry to hear about you and Tom. I know exactly how you feel. My bf and I split up after I had made the reservations and paid the deposit on our cruise. I was faced with the same situation. I decided to drop him from the reservation and take the time to enjoy some me time with my girls. I'm a single mom traveling with two girls, ages 6 and 13, I would love to keep you company and team up with you while on the ship. I've got a very sympathetic ear and can even handle the occasional "rage". Feel free to lean on a new friend and enjoy this cruise with your kids.

Eric: How 'bout we split it in half $2.50 each, I believe in giving credit where it's due. Better yet, you get a drink on me.

We are getting very close to having the tour mapped out for everyone. Hopefully I can post it early next week. We have tried to give everyone a little of what they requested... We will have sightseeing, a little beach time ( touring for non beach people) visit some shopping areas, have lunch scheduled at a really cute little restaurant on the coast and hopefully finish up with at the dock so those who want to can ride the tram...

Ave, Just sent you a PM..

Mom & I have been members of the PIF group since December, however that did not help with our reservations getting cancelled by DCL.. They say we have a cabin assigned now, but after last years fiasco, Hmmmm those chaise lounges on deck 4 are mighty comfortable.

Jays game last night with my Dad and his girlfriend (Jenn) (and Jim of course) was amazing. It was a really good game and the Jays beat the Yankees with a Vernon Wells homerun in the bottom of the 10th.

My Dad is really into baseball and has followed the Jays since the beginning but hasn't been to a live game of the Jays for probably 10 years. Jenn hadn't ever seen the Jays play although Dad took her to a play off game last year in Minnesota. Went out to eat afterwards so didn't get home til almost 1am. Am a little tired today.

Still waiting for excursion info from DCL but Jim has already decided what we are doing so this isn't a problem.

I made a design for our shirts for the August Repo Cruise and submitted it to Zazzle on July 10.

I called them on Tuesday since I never received them. I was told that my order was inadvertently cancelled, but they would upgrade the shipping and I would have them by today. He asked me if he could charge the credit card that I originally used when I placed the order, and I told him yes. Well the time that UPS, Fed Ex and the USPS come to my house has come and gone so I just called them back. I spoke with the same person (Charles) and was told that they didn't do anything with my order since it was cancelled. He also denied everything that he told me on Tuesday about upgrading the shipping, charging my credit card and me having them by today. He told me that he can't change an order that's been cancelled, that I have to place the order again. After we argued about this, and I told him the internet is such a wonderful thing. He asked what I meant, so I told him about the message boards that I go to and that I was going to post what a horrible business they run and that they cancel orders without informing the customer and then promise things and deny ever saying them and to never buy from them. After that, he decided that he wouldn't charge me for the shirts and would overnight them to me so I would have them by tomorrow. I don't know how he can do this since he told me he can't order shirts from an order that was cancelled, but we'll see. I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for the shirts, and I'm never going to order from them again. I am also going to send them an email describing what happened, but I'm going to send it tomorrow just in case he's really sending the shirts.

I am so upset since I was going to wear that shirt to the DIS meet at KOP mall on Saturday and don't have time to go and buy shirts and make them myself.

I'm not expecting to receive the shirts. I can't believe he told me he never said all the things he told me on Tuesday. He even told me "I promise you that you will have the shirts on Thursday".

Sorry for the rant, but I can't believe all this.

MaryJo,
I find your American electoral system very fascinating and am looking forward to be in the USA during the 'hot phase'.
But I won't say who I'm favouring: A) The best way to keep friends is to never talk about politics or religion with them, and to never lend them money or borrow some from them ;) B) I hope that during the cruise we will be able to kind of detach ourselves from the rest of the world.

I need that vacation!!! My desk is near collapsing under the workload, will be at the office the fourth Saturday this month and August doesn't look any brighter :( But this will pay for some extra cocktails on the ship:drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1

No posts from us tonight: Anja has to work the nightshift and we'll spent the evening with my Gramps before I drive her to the hospital. Then in the morning I'll pick her up again, drive her home, buy breakfast for all my coworkers and then head to the office.

OK -- Can someone please tell me the details of making the T-shirts. I know Kathy made some great designs which were posted several pages back. Will the designs be posted again in a bigger format? Are we already supposed to be making our shirts? I don't know a thing about transfer paper -- never heard of it before this board and I am definitely not the arts & crafts type so could someone please give me a clue as to how we go about getting our shirts made. Arlene had a question about this not too many posts back, but I didn't see a reply. Thanks for any help you can give me.

:wave:Guys, I know I've been MIA for a little while ... darn work!

? about the iron-ons ... You can get the paper at WalMart or in any stationary or office supply store. Basically you print out the design in a mirror mode (some copiers actually have a setting for iron-on) Let the print dray for about a day before trying to iron-on cause I find that it sets the ink better and you get a better look.
Also, try and cut off some of the paper around the iron-on before you do it ... lays flatter on the shirts. If you have never done anything like this before, practice by just printing on plain paper as you would with the actual iron-on papers. If you want, you can try by practicing on a pillow case and then later if your case came out good, you can ask the characters to sign it once you hit the ship. If you have a dry-cleaner that you are friendly with, tell them what you are doing and JUST MAYBE they will help you out and do it with their gigantic iron. If you have any questions, just feel free to either e-mail or PM me and I'll try and help out.

Sorry, I got a little wordy on that topic - oops!

Well, I've hit some of the sales in my area and gotten some nice stuff just for the cruise. My tropical outfits for Art & I came from the Disney Store and they are really nice ... what a deal and in our sizes to boot!

Gotta run and do some work!

Hope everyone is getting "in a cruise state of mind" ... not long now!

Thanks for the tips on the t-shrits. But I also have just one more question. What computer link can Jeanniec and myself go to download the design for the t-shirts. I do remember going to a link and seeing several small versions of the designes, but am very confused on how to download a larger version for the transfer.

All of your help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance....

Sue & arlene ... Over the weekend, I'll e-mail them to you. If you want to change the size from 8.5 x 11, I believe you to into print and then go to effects and you can ghance the size from 100% to larger or smaller from there. Also, don't select fastest print ... use BEST print.

I need the link to the T-shirt design also.

Thanks!

BTW, I asked this recently, but did not receive a response........what ever happened to the gift exchange? I'm leaving for our family cruise early Thursday morning (less than a week) and still have not yet gotten the name of my gift recipient. Please tell me what is up with that. I'm starting to panic that I won't get the gift purchased and shipped before we leave.

Please e-mail the logos to me, too. I think this is a lost cause for me, tho. I haven't the slightest idea in the world how to print something out in a "mirror mode". I know what you mean by that -- just don't know how to do it.

Hi everyone! I can't believe it's almost 60 days away. I haven't been on in awhile due to computer problems and just getting back from our first trip to WDW. We had a great time and got to see most of what we planned. However, having done the cruise before, the cruise is much more relaxing. By the end of the week, I was becoming "line-phobic"...."kids, I can't stand in another line, no more lines!"(that was to go to a movie after the trip:)) I also resigned myself that I would "melt" that week, so I didn't let the streams of perspiration bother me. I wish it showed on my bathroom scale, though. (bummer). Well, I've been trying to catch up on the latest here. Renee, I got my magnets, thank you! They're cute! Now that our WDW trip is behind us, I'm trying to get to cruise mode. At first return, my DH and I considered cancelling due to being "vacationed-out". He also had so much work to catch up on after returning, he was overwhelmed. Anyway, the good news is, we changed our minds and will sail Oct. 2nd. Right now, though, I'm getting the kids school supplies together as they begin school on Monday. They are actually real excited to get back to seeing their friends. Our system is one of the first to go back in the Charlotte area. We like our school calendar, however, the state is trying to change it to a later start, which may cause us to lose our fall and spring breaks (another reason why we decided to do the cruise this oct., might be our last chance for fall break). Well, that's the latest here from me. Now that our computer is working again, I need my DS to get in touch with the other 13yo's on the trip. Oh, I've read some posts, I'm trying to decide on excursions, who was doing the Coki beach trip on St Thomas? What's everyone doing in Antigua? sorry this was so long, but haven't been on lately. Hope all is well with everyone. Looking forward to our 1st cruisetoberfest.
Regards,
Laura

RE: T-Shirts....I was a bit worried last year that I would not be able to print the transfers, but I just followed the instructions on the package of transfer paper (OK..I did do it on plain paper first, just to be sure) and they came out great. If the t-shirts are new DO wash them before putting the logo on. This will help them last much longer.

LauraRN...nice to see you back. Glad you had fun at WDW. I LOVE WDW but would much rather spend a week on DCL. I always feel (at WDW) like I have to "do" and "see" everything. This tends to make vacations at the parks a bit hectic. Also there is almost no opportunity to spend a any "kid free" time. I love my children, but sometimes.......:teeth:

Well, I got home from work and guess what?? No shirts. I just got off the phone with Charles (the same guy I spoke with Tuesday and yesterday). He has no explanation as to why I didn't get the shirts. They were never even made! I told him about the internet boards and all these posts that people made about this. Now he is supposedly looking into the problem and will call me back since I told him I am going to update my posts with what he says.

He called me back and told me that there was a problem making one of the shirts yesterday, and they couldn't get it done in time to send out. He gave me a DHL tracking number and told me that they would be delivered tomorrow (Saturday). This would be fine, but we're going to a DIS meet in Pennsylvania tomorrow (which is why I wanted the shirts by tomorrow) and are leaving the house at 8:30 am. I know there is no way that DHL is going to deliver the shirts before 8:30 am so this doesn't help me. At least if I do get the shirts, then I'll have them for the cruise.

He then told me how sorry he was that they weren't made and delivered for today and that he knows how good a Company's service is depends on whether or not a customer comes back. He had a very different attitude today than what he did yesterday. I wonder if he somehow managed to find and read my posts. Anyway, I still don't have my shirts. I guess I'll see if they're here when I get home tomorrow, and I will post another update either tomorrow or Sunday.

There's still hope that this problem might be fixed even if it is a little late. Still doesn't change the fact that I won't be ordering from zazzle.com anymore since I don't want to have to go through this again.

Thanks for listening.

Welcome Jill!
Don't worry about the weather. We have sailed 3X in late Sept and early Oct and the weather (temps) have always been great. We did have one cruise diverted due to hurricaine Lilli, but the Captain kept us is smooth seas and beautiful weather.
What kind of excurtions are you looking for? Snorkeling, sightseeing, beaches? I have done lots of reasearch and would be happy to share the info if you give me a little more information as to what your family is interested in.

Welcome Jill! We have always done the eastern cruise and always in October or November. October was better than November for us. The temps were the same both times though. I like the eastern because you get one more day at sea and St. Thomas is so beautiful. I'm thrilled about going to Antigua this year!

Don't worry, this group will have you feeling at ease in no time, just wait for everyone to get up and start talking :teeth:

We can vouch for the fact that the T-shirts can be fairly easily. We just followed the instructions on the transfer paper and managed to get them done. We did print it out on plain paper first though --and then had to get a new colour cartridge for the colour printer before we could print out the transfers. It was really straightforward. The one time during the year that I used the iron too!!!

Welcome Jill!!!

So glad that it's the weekend and a long one at that! We have a civic holiday for the first Monday in August so it's nice. It would be even better if it wasn't raining out but I guess we can't have everything. :p

It's supposed to clear up this afternoon and be nice tomorrow and Monday so I guess that's ok.

Off to the grocery store now. Love these weekend chores.

Jill (Adams Family) We have gone to Trunk Bay 2X, once with DCL tour, and once on our own. The DCL trip involved very little walking. You exit the ship and walk the length of the ship where you board the excurtion boat. It is then about a 45 min trip to Trunk Bay. You can snorkel and /or take a small dingy to shore.
Kim (BetteMom) is organizing a tour of St. Thomas with a stop at a beach. I'm not sure how much walking is involved with this tour.
Another group of us are going to Coki Beach for a day of swimming/snorkeling/diving. A bus will pick us up at the dock, and we will take a cab back to the ship.

jeanneg...GoofyNut will e-mail the logos to everyone. I don't think there is a link to the designs:confused:

Sue,
I checked our nationwide telephone directory, but no Jingleheimer. I also tried Schingelheime and Schinglheimer, because in German they sound like Jingleheimer in English, but still no hits. Sorry :(

Schmidt would be different, as this is one of the commonest name in Germany. Frankfurt's directory alones list a couple of pages of them in their various kinds of spelling: Schmidt, Schmitt. Schmied, Schmiedt, etc. BTW, as you probably know it translates to Smith in English.

I found this info on taxies:

Welcome to Antigua and Barbuda Taxis & Transportation

These Taxis are among the best in Antigua. They are reliable, courteous and friendly: their rates are reasonable. Their services includes pickup and drop off from the V. C. Bird International Airport, from Dock the Heritage Quay or from destination requested. They will do just that for you and even more ! Give them a call and arrange at your convenience. Want a tour of the Island? Let them take you on an adventure of the Island you will never forget!

Antiguan taxi drivers are friendly and easy to get along with

Allowing you to visit historical sites in Antigua such as Shirley's Heights Lookout for a panoramic view of English Harbour or Nelson's Dockyard the world's only remaining Georgian naval facility and also home of the famous Sailing Week Regatta, Fig Tree Drive, Devil's Bridge .. an amazing wonder of natural bridge formed rushing Atlantic waves or Duty Free Shopping at Heritage Quay, St. John's the capital with places of interest like The Anglican Church, Redcliffe Quay. Drive in Air Conditioned Comfort.

send us an e-mail if you need any taxi and we will let them know for you at no cost to you just pay the taxi driver qualityci@actol.net

Jill, I also looked at the Antiqua part of the www.CruiseCritic.com message board. You might want to look at the reviews of the dolphin swim posted there before you book it.
There is a lot of good info on the CC board about Antiqua, including reviews of excutions, beaches, ect.

Didn't receive the mailed DCL excursion information but that's ok as I did get a form from DU. Can't wait to book tomorrow. Makes the cruise seem that much closer!

Renee -- any t-shirts yet? Amazingly bad service.

We were clipping our back hedge yesterday. We want to take it out eventually and replace it with raspberries which we have in the corner of the yard and which are already growing into the hedge. It's a lot of work though.

Day off today but have to drive DS back to his base 2.5 hours north one way. Should be exciting. :p

Take care everyone!

yesterday was a bad day......spent most of it in the ER passing kidney stones.......not much fun at all. I am just SO THANKFUL it happened yesterday and not this coming weekend when I'm hoping to be sailing on the Magic with all my family. That would not be a good thing. I still have a few small stones present, but as long as I drink lots of water I should be fine. They gave me some meds to take with me in case I have another "episode" but if I take those I can't have any alcohol.......You KNOW I'll be drinking LOTS of water, since i do not want to give up my conch coolers! Funny thing is, the worst part about yesterday was that I kept thinking "I need to get out of here and get the gift for my secret cruise buddy!" Now it's tops on today's agenda!

I saw "Manchurian Candidate" on Saturday before all this nonsense started. What an awesome movie! I'm looking forward to seeing "The Village" on the ship.

Happy belated birthday, Kathy!

Jeanne -- Kidney stones! Wow, how bad was the pain? What a bummer! But, you are right -- thank goodness, this didn't happen when you were on the cruise next week. Have you had them before? Good luck! That's why I am so glad I had my gall bladder out in April. Wouldn't want to have an attack while on the cruise.

Nope, no shirts yet. The tracking number shows they're still in California even though the ETA is today. Since they were supposed to be delivered on Saturday, I'll be amazed if I ever get them.

I'll let everyone know if they show up.

Jeanne,
now I'm sure that you can't sneak up on me on the ship or at Serenity Bay: The rattling of the stones will give you away:jester:
No more kidding: We'll keep your fingers crossed for you that they are gone and that you can enjoy your warm-up cruise.

BTW, Conch Cooler is my favourite cocktail on the ship, too :drinking1 and Anja also loves it - Perhaps we can do some 'Extreme Cocktailing' one night :teeth:

Enjoy your day off
I had to think of you when I tore off yesterday's page from my 'Car & Driver' Day-to-Day-Calendar and today's page showed 'Civic Holiday/Canada'.
Our next holyday is 3rd of October/Reunification Day which is unfortunately a Sunday. And as we don't have that American rule granting us a free Monday if the holiday falls on a weekend, we're cheated out of it. Nevertheless we could celebrate it on the ship ;)

dsncruise lover: sorry to be the bearer of bad news but tomorrow is actually the 60 day mark since Aug has 31 days.......!!!

I'm feeling fine now, just as if nothing had ever happened. Thanks for the well wishes. This is actually my 4th episode with kidney stones. The first was at 16, then once in my mid-thirties, and then again about a year ago. Aside from my very first attack, I was always able to manage at home and avoid the hospital, but yesterday I kept thinking that I couldn't be sick for the cruise and decided I really needed to be seen. The funny thing is that by the time the physician finally got around to seeing me, it was all over. I still had to hang around for another 3 hours to go to radiology and get all the reports back. And to make it even worse, hubby is on staff at that particular hospital! Must remember to avoid city ERs on weekends at all costs.........!!

And just for the record, Eric, my creaking joints are probably alot more audible than a bunch of stones! Then again, I'd never do my own dirty work........ Those years in NJ taught me to always hire a "hit" man. If I were you, I'd be very cautious on CC!

Never hurts to start early. I countdown the days by the hours instead of days. So today, Monday, before 5 we had 61 days and from 5pm on we had 60. Tomorrow, Tuesday, we will have 60 days until 4:59pm and at 5pm we will have 59days until 4:59 on Wed. So furth and so furth. So for me its 60 days today. I understand if its confusing but it isnt to me. i have put alot of thought into it. You can ask my mom.

My shirts arrived today from zazzle.com, but they're wrong. I had 3 different designs created (one for each shirt), and they put the wrong ones on the wrong shirts. I just checked my email for the order, and I'm right. Guess in all the rush to finally get them out to me, they put the wrong designs on the wrong shirts.

Oh well, I just found some software from Hanes on hanes2u.com that I downloaded and bought the iron on paper from them since it seems like a pretty good quality. I also bought the shirts from another site that zazzle used since they are pretty heavy duty. I'll just wait for them to come in the mail and make my own.

Boy what a problem this whole thing was. Glad it's over though, and I did learn a lesson to never order from them again.

Hi Guys, Here it is, the itinerary for the private St. Thomas tour. We worked hard to give everyone a bit of what they asked for..

8:00 - 8:30 Pick up by safari jeep at the ship ( Disney magic 10/6
Godfrey is the owner of the business and he will be
at the pier with a sign for our private tour.

8:30-10:00 shopping downtown historic shopping area.

10:00- 12:00 Visit: Scenic Drive to Bluebeards Castle , Drakes Seat , drive to very scenic gorgeous Magens Beach for short visit/ local cocktail or cold drink /swim. Any other sights that the driver has time to take us too we will add on to the tour. There might be a $ 2.00 admit fee for Magens Beach but I am not totally sure.

12:30-1:30 Lunch @ Duffys Luv Shack in Red Hook (near Saphire Beach) www.duffysloveshack.com Lunch costs are each persons responsibility, they have a real fun menu posted on the web site, very affordable prices. The restaurant is expecting us and has no problem issueing individual checks, they DO NOT take credit cards).

1:30- 2:30 Quick swim at Saphire beach, and a ( mini tour of the area by safari jeep for non beach people)

2:30 Drop off people at the ship who are tired .
Drop off people to take the scenic tramway up. Additional $$
Drop off people to the top of the mountain who want to take the tram down not up. ( To access the tram there are 3 steep flights of stairs 36 stairs total, I spoke with the tram operators and they do not have an elevator.
Drop group of Die hard shoppers off for last minute retail therapy downtown .

3:45 Pick up last group of shoppers from pre- arranged meeting
spot and take back to ship to make 4:30 sailing.

I hope everyone is pleased with the tour itinerary. We are at this time are a few people short of the 20 person minimum for the $ 20.00 pp cost. However it will only cost our group a couple dollars more per person if we do not get a few more to join us and we then are all set for the tour. The safari jeep costs $ 400.00 for the day plus I think we need to tip the driver.

Here is a list of the cruisers that are confirmed on this tour:

1) Bette BETTEMOM
2) Kim BETTEMOM
3) Renee’ & Haley PIGLET33

If I forgot to add you or I added you and/or you have second thoughts about the best tour you could take (LOL LOL) then PLMK. I worked hard to give everyone a little of what they asked for, I hope this meets everyones expectations.

I asked godfrey to have a case of frozen water bottles for us to have right off. I would be glad to pick up this cost, perhaps someone wants to check on the ship and see if they would freeze a 2nd case of water bottles for us to have, as I am sure it will be very warm...

Wow...I called at 8:30 eastern time and the early Antigua 4x4 excursion was already sold out. I never imagined it would sell out so quick...wish I would have pulled the car over and made the call on my way to work instead of waiting. All is not lost though...we did get the 12:15 trip, so we are not dissappointed. I think DH is actually happy that he gets to have his coffee on the veranda an extra morning.

Kim- that St. Thomas trip sounds great, but we REALLY REALLY want to see St. John. I have been to St. Thomas twice, and we have seriously considered camping at USVI National Park...so this is our chance to check it out. We are doing the St. John Island Tour.

Hey everyone.

Today is David's 10th birthday!!!!! He's so excited. "I have to use all of my fingers now."

Our excursions are booked: Dolphin & stingray adventure on Antigua, Kayaking on St. Thomas, and David & I are catamaraning on CC.

Just one problem. The woman told me Wild Side on CC is very strict that the child MUST be 13 on the date of the excursion. Heidi will be 13 on the 10th (2 days later!). She wouldn't let me book it for Heidi. Does anyone think they'll let her go, once we get there? She's going to be SOOOOO disappointed when she finds out. I may have to cancel catamaraning, as Heidi refuses to go snorkeling--unless she finds someone to hang out with that isn't going to the Wild Side.

No marital updates to report--I'm planning this trip as if Tom's not going. (He hasn't given me an inkling of hope that he will change his mind.) We did have a good exchange yesterday. No begging, crying, arguing or hurtful words from either of us. Perhaps...

Happy birthday Kathy w/a K.

Papa-Congrats on #3,600

Reneé-I'm sorry about your zazzle.com experience. Can you dispute the charges? What a waste of time, energy & t-shirts!

Mary (and others on the East Coast)-How are you holding up with Hurricane Alex? David tried to call George tonite, and left a message.

We're having thunderstorms tonite. It's about time, too. My grass was getting brown. Tom's the one who always mowed & watered. I never think of it.

David pointed out that it always rains on his birthday. I'm not sure if that's accurate, but it did come down in buckets the night he was born. I think that's why he loves storms so much!

He was sweet this morning, too. He asked me to tell him the story of his birth. In the middle of the story, I had to stop & make a deposit at the bank. When I got back in the car, he said, "Okay, you can keep going now." They never tire of hearing about themselves, do they?

Well, bedtime. Good nite, everyone.

Oh yeah. Heidi is away at a sleep-away camp. Her first one. She was really excited. I signed her up w/a friend from church. Afterward, she found out two friends from school were also going, so the four of them are bunking together.

Tom took her there on Sunday (I had to go to Chicago overnite for a business meeting), and I'll pick her up on Saturday.

I sent them some cards to give her one a day till Friday. She has paper & stamps, so I hope I'm getting a letter tomorrow.

Okay, goodnite.

Your thunderstorms just arrived here in Indiana.....on my day off of course!
Tell David that the weather only acts up to celebrate special birthdays. When I was his age it always snowed on my birthday. I must have been the only person upset because of a snowday because it also canceled my birthday parties.

Just checked out Hurricane Alex, which is now drifting across the Atlantic towards Britain. But there's a tropical depression (TD 2) right now in our cruise area heading for Hispaniola (Haiti/DomRep).
I'm just hoping that these early storms drain off all the latent energy from the sea so that we'll have a smooth sailing pirate:

Not too good of a day in our household yesterday...DH has worked for Techneglas for the past 34 years and has endured many layoffs, etc. but yesterday he went into work for day shift and at 9:15 a.m. there was a plant wide meeting called and by 9:30 a.m. he was out in the parking lot shaking his head. They announced at the 9:15 a.m. meeting that effective immediately, the plant was closing. They got around the 60 day notification by paying all of the employees that were left for the next 60 days. Being that DH has tons of seniority, he is one of the lucky ones who has to actually work to get orders out and help dismantle equipment while all of the people with less seniority get to sit home for the next 60 days and collect their usual pay for sitting home!! Go figure! There is also talk that there will be no severence pay (even though it is guaranteed under the union contract) and the pensions may be affected so hopefully, the union will fight for them. Sam is devastated to think that he gave 34 years of his life and this is how the company treated them...didn't even give them the courtesy of any notice. We have heard rumors for months and it seems like every time we went on vacation they had a layoff and Sam's boss was dreading our upcoming vacation--little did we think that this would be happening! His boss wanted to know if I had a crystal ball for planning our vacations!!

Oh Mary Jo what horrible news especially to get it that way. I do hope that his pension will be ok as that would be truly awful to work for a company for 34 years and be left with almost nothing. Sending pixie dust your way!!

My DB was actually let go the end of June after 7 years at the firm he was working at (no where near 34 years). He's known it was coming but it was still a shock just a few weeks before baby #3 was due. He seems to be taking it ok but with a wife and now 3 kids he'll have to find a job fairly soon although he did get 8 months severance.

Wishing you all the best Mary Jo and Sam (and Sarah too!).

:( Sorry to hear that, MaryJo:sad2:
When I read of such drastic and quick lay-offs in the USA, I'm always glad that such things are not possible over here. Although our protective laws sometimes are considered by the employers as obstructions for adapting to the market's needs, we're really happy to have them. To fire someone after 34 years in Germany is near impossible - or extremely expensive for the employer. People over 55 have special protection according to our laws, because it's especially difficult for them to find a new job.
Our thoughts are with Sam and we keep our fingers crossed that his pension finds are not adversely affected.

Mary Jo -- I am so sorry. What an absolutely horrible thing to happen. And no notice - just walk into work and find out that the company is closing immediately. What is going on in the United States today that things like this can happen? A person can't even have job security after being with a company for 34 years? Hopefully Sam will get a good severence package and his pension will be safe, but still ---- how difficult it must be to deal with a shock like this. Will this affect your cruise -- hopefully not, and October might be a good time to get away from it all.

Pixie dust to all involved!

So sorry, Mary Jo.......I wish there was something I could say to make it all go away. Please know you're in my thoughts and prayers. I hope everything will be resolved by October and you and your family can enjoy the wonderful vacation you so deserve.

Mary, you were right, although I would hesitate to classify myself as a lurker.......John and I have decided to join the St Thomas group. We've been there before and have seen all the sights on the tour, but it sounds like it will be a fun excursion with good company and would love to join in if it's not too late. I need to get in touch with Bette and let her know.

I won't be posting for a while......we leave at 2a.m. tomorrow for the drive to Port Canaveral. It shouldn't be too bad considering we have 5 drivers going down and 6 returning. We haven't done a full-family road trip in a while so it should be interesting. We're staying 2 nights at the Ron Jon resort. If anyone wants me to check anything out, please let me know. So far I have Eric's query about the seltzer and nothing else. DH will be taking the unlimited net package so I may even be able to jump onto the board every now and then. I plan to log on as least once more this evening.

I am so sorry to hear about your family's situation. To say it is stressful when you think after 34 years it is in the bag would be a complete understatement. Hang tight, you guys will do okay! My mom cringes everytime United Airlines and bankruptcy come up....she was forced into retirement fwith them after 35 years and 9/11...she is waiting for the plug to be pulled on her retirement benefits...no matter what or how it happens, it is always a shock, but hang in there!

Are you guys still coming out to Colorado?

Jill..two foxes...I was going to call you today but the past two days have not been the best...I will call you before we leave and yes, we are still coming out west...we need the vacation and it is already paid for.

Thanks everyone for your concern, prayers and support...you don't know how much they mean to us.

We are still going on the cruise so don't worry!! Again, everything is paid for.

I think what bothers us the most is the way that the company handled it plus the fact that Sam has to go in and help dismantle equipment to be shipped overseas so someone else can do his job. He is eligible for 6 months of unemployment and thank God is covered under NAFTA so he is eligible for 104 weeks of schooling that they will pay for plus his unemployment so we should be ok--imagine going back to school at 58 years of age...I told him that I don't care if he has to take up flower designing just so he can get the extra unemployment...this is his first time collecting ever so I told him he earned it and to relax but he is upset because he really loved his job and loved to go to work (crazy, I know!!) and he misses it. Plus he has done the swing shift (changes shifts every 7 days) for 34 years so it will be tough for him to adjust!! He played Mr. Mom today and mopped the floors, dusted furniture, etc. so I was thrilled and I won't mind him staying home!!

Sam said that the reason they only gave them 15 minutes to clean out lockers, etc. is that the company is afraid of vandalism and theft should they have given them notice of closing.

that the company handled

Some slight consolation: A few years back I was 'de-hired' from a long term position (almost 20 years). The (relatively new) manager called me in and started blabbing on about how difficult decisions had to be made, John, and you've been a great employee, and John, you've contributed greatly to the company, but we've decided to cease that product line, John... I just sat there and laughed. He must have thought I was a funny farm case because he asked me what was so funny. I said you have no idea who I am or what you're saying especially when you consider that after close to 20 years service someone in this company would remember my name is Jim rather than John. He turned completely red and I left. After he axed some 60% of his staff over the next couple of months, he showed up to work to find his pass card didn't work and was told he wasn't needed any more in the parking lot. :)

Strangely enough, I found something that I really, really enjoy doing and wouldn't have remotely considered it if I was still employed there.

A door always opens somewhere when one closes.

Jim.

hello everyone

Mary Jo- Sorry to hear about dh's job. My father was with a company for 38 years when it was bought out and the new owners sent most of it over seas. they closed the doors 2 weeks before my dad's 58th birthday. they offered early retirement to those who were 58 and older. well he did not make the 58 cut off. thank god for my parents that my brother owns his own business and hired my dad but no where near the kind of money he was making. this has been over 2 years now and he just found the idea job for himself. him losing his job though was a blessing because he helped me out so much with my dd autumn who was so sick at the time. i truly believe things happen for a reason and that there is better around the corner. just keep positive.

Mary,
Anja wants to know what kind of dog you have. She loves doggies and can't wait to see yours.

Anja talked me out of renting a waverunner on CC. We intend to snorkel a lot, trying to find 'our' sting ray again and perhaps make a sighting of the famous CC-shark.

We've been working out the last five days in a row and will do another work-out tomorrow. With outside temps of around 35°C/95°F the gym is kind of deserted and with the a/c it's literally cool there ;) Nevertheless we'll probably rest a day on Saturday before our joints start creaking. Today we had a new instructor from Brazil who really tried to kills - We feel like chewed up and spit out and I guess we'll have some mighty sore muscles tomorrow, but after our usual Friday-night 6mile-run we should be fine again - A leisurly run at 6-7 mph is the best way to burn off all the residue from last nights workout.
Saturday I'll have to be at the office again - 5th Saturday out of the last 6  , but that overtime-pay will come in handy for the vacation - Boosting the American economy ;)

If anyone needs anything special from Germany? - This is your last chance to order!! But we won't bring a Mercedes or a Porsche :jester:

We aren't parasailing or sky-diving. Fear of heights here!

Both Jim and I have decided that we will have to start walking again before the cruise so that we will be able to walk the buffet lines! Eric -- you and Anja make me tired just hearing about all that running. :p

I'd love to say that our temps were as high as yours but no such luck. It's only 22C today although it was 30C last weekend. It's :sunny: today although it rained most of yesterday.

Am finally getting some old stuff cleared off my desk but new stuff keeps appearing! Won't work on Saturday though as I don't get paid overtime. :(

Take care everyone.

Anja..we have a Yellow Lab named "Shadow" (the sweatest dog in the world) We also have a short haired cat (Patches) a Box Turtle , "Ralph" who thinks it's a dog (it will follow you around the yard, and comes when you call it) a tank full of fish and now our new kitty "Magic" !Magic was checked out by the vet today and thankfully is healthy.

Fiona...George and I plan to start walking in the evening as soon as the weather cools off a bit. The forcasters are predicting a "cool" weekend (in the 60's in the morning) so maybe we will see some cooler temp. soon. Of course my "drinking arm" is in fine form from all the 12oz curles while in Florida:hyper:

I had a roommate who was into skydiving. He would get such an adrenaline rush after a jump, he'd stay awake for 24 hours afterwards! I'm with Reneé...why jump out of a plane, unless it's going to crash!!!

Don't forget the patches! We'll bring some lovely Larimer County Sheriff's Office patches for a trade!

Also, how can running ever be "leisurely"? It is all a nightmare for me....from the first minute to the last. Yuck. Running would be a helpful activity for this trip though. Now that they are charging $10 for the classes, I may have to stick to the cardio machines. If you guys have a Krav Maga studio around you, you should give that a shot for a new twist to your fitness routine. It is a type of fighting/martial artst that was created for the Israeli Army and the conditioning classes they have for it are insane. Works good for me because I have no motivation on my own and I won't exercise hard enough unless someone is leading....but I can eat cookie dough with no problem....hmmmm.

Our two police friends are on vacation right now, but should be back next week. As they are very reliable, I should have the patches well before our departure - Especially as I have to buy a Leatherman-tool for one of them in the USA ;)

Running leisurely means that I will keep my puls at a constant 155. I always run with a Polar-heartrate-monitor and our treadmills have a Polar-interface. I set the treadmill to 10km/h/6.25mph and puls 155 and just start running. The treadmill then starts with a steep incline to get me to 155 quickly and the lowers it gradually to keep me there. At 10 km/h I can keep my pulse at 155 for a very long time - That's what I call leisurely. Usuall a guy of my age (40) has a maximum heartrate of 180, but mine is 207. So at 155 I'm only at 75%. When I'm doing tough workouts I run at heartrates in the 90%-range at 180-185 and in races I sometimes push it well above 190 for the last 1/2 mile or so. But I recover very quickly: Our treadmills run a special cooldown-routine for 10 minutes reducing your speed to 4.5 mph for a minute an then reducing in steps. The routine is cancelled after 10 minutes or as soon as your pulse is below 110 - and I rarely need more than 4 to 6 minutes to get below 110.

We don't have that Mossad-Aerobics :jester: over here, but Anja and I used to do Tae-Bo for about three years and later did two years of boxing with 10-12 ounce-gloves against 'sandbags' and loved it, but right now we're more into pumping iron and cardio.

Did I get that right that they want 10 bucks now for the aerobic classes on the ship:confused:

Busy weekend coming up. Mark's company end of the summer picnic at the local waterpark on Sat. and then I have to work on Sunday at job#2. We lost one of our residents this week. She was 59 years old and had been in in some sort of "home" since she was 7. Sad, but can't help feeling that she is now in a better place.

Add us to the list of many pets. We have FIVE cats which is amazing considering that we were always dog people but got hooked on cats when our DD came in with a little kitty many years ago. One was from the humane society and the rest are strays. Actually we have six if we count the new little kitty who is our outside cat now. We just feed and water him/her. We have 2 orange tabbies, one calico, one tortoise shell and one long-haired deaf white cat. Did you know that blue-eyed white cats are supposedly always deaf? If they have one blue eye and one other colored eye they are deaf in one ear only. The last cat was one that Sam picked up in a parking lot while I was at WDW with a friend of mine -- not a pleasant surprise when I got home. Four was really enuf.

I also have not received the logos yet, not that I am sure I will know what to do with them when I get them.

I am now doing a countdown not only for the cruise but for my retirement date -- leaving work on October 29. The office is moving to SC on 10/16 so I decided to hang around and help with the move. Driving to the new place would add another 52 miles round trip to my drive in the horrible traffic. I will be sleeping while the others are out driving! Sounds good to me.

I was so excited when I read that Bruce is playing in Orlando until I saw the date. Just my luck! He'll be in Philly while we're on the ship too. Maybe next time.

I can't belive school starts MONDAY! I took the kids to see "I, Robot" today. I really liked it and so did the kids.

New kitty is adjusting fine to the rest of the "fur family".

jeanniec...a friend of mine has 5 cats. She jokes that if she gets another one she will be know as "The Crazy Women With All The Cats!"I guess if you have 5 you just love cats, but when you go to 6, that's crossing the crazy line!!!!
Humans still out number the fur members of this family, but if you add the fish and reptiles....then WE are out numbered! :earseek:
Is your calico a female? Someone told me calico's are always females. I had never heard that before.

Eric, I can just picture Anja trying to smuggle a yellow lab and a Golden back to Germany!:teeth: She might have better luck with the turtle. Of course she can have as many squirels as she can carry!

No more American squirrels for Europe!!!
Ours are relatively small with a bright red fur, the Americans are bigger with a grey fur. Some American squirrels fled from German zoos and have mixed with the German population (The squirrels, of course - Just in case any of you jokers out there already thought about making funny remarks;) ) and in some areas they already dominate.

Eric, Go the Vancouver B.C. Canada, I freaked the first time I saw the squirrels out there, they are BLACK ! I saw one as I was waiting for my car at a hotel and asked the doorman about them, he said they are the only color they have in B.C.

Well it is a might bit chilly this AM. It is 5:45 and 47 degrees F.
We have a few friend on the way to work on the house with us, I guess we won't get to overheated today...

Cathy ( Goofynut), I did not receive the iron on logo's either. Could you please send them to me.

Thanks, Kim

We have black squirrels here too!

Weather here is ok (at least it's not raining) but I wouldn't say heat was going to be a problem. My secretary was looking at the farmer's almanac yesterday to see what the weather was going to be like on her vacation -- very depressing. From now until the end of September it was full of rain, thunderstorms, rain, unseasonably cold and it had frost (!) at the end of September.

It's not supposed to rain this weekend but we'll see.

DS is home for the weekend and would be very depressed if I told him school started Monday. He doesn't go back til after Labour Day. He's not sure if he's going to be home next weekend so doesn't know if he'll make his cousin's 2nd birthday party. Got him some finger paints. :teeth: I'm just waiting to see the cake design. My SIL always orders a fancy cake. Last year my niece's birthday cake was barbie's dress -- there was a barbie in the middle of the cake dress. Do not know how they do it but it was good. There's a really good cake place close by where she orders the cakes.

Must get going as we are going to Rennaissance Festival today.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

There is a very nice park by me where almost all of the squirles are black. I live in Maryland. The only other place I had seen black squirles before was in Vancouver Canada.

Hey, anyone else excited about the Olympics starting soon.

POLL:
Anybody have any tattoos? Are any of them Disney?
I have two:
1. Left inner ankle, Scorcer Mickey
2. Lower back, tribal Mickey design.

I am also having trouble with the t-shirt design. It's all blurry when I print it out
for the 8x10 size. Came out better as
5x7 when I made the magnets. I can't
figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Can you please send it again? Also are we doing the front and back designs or just the front?

Sue,
I got a barbed wire around my right upper arm and Anja has a sun in four different colours around her bellybutton, no Disney.

Yup,
we're waiting for the Olympics, too. Our gym will show them in the Cardio-Theatre. There are about 80 treadmills, bikes, steppers and rowing machines facing a total of 16 screens. We will do our cardio workout watching the games. I guess we'll cut back on the weights for those two weeks and do more cardio to be able to see more of the Games. Fortunately they take place in our timezone this year, the 2000 Olympics in Down Under were responsible for a big sleep deficit :faint:

In five weeks this time of day we should already be somewhere between Iceland and Newfoundland ::yes:: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I am planning to get Jiminy Cricket one of these days....already have 4, all small though...virgo symbol on my ankle, along with a cover up of a bad tattoo gotten in my younger days! On my back are the Japanese symbols of good luck and joy. I think I want to put Jiminy on my hip, but I would hate to see him stretch if we ever have kids! I don't think he'd look so cute, then!

Tim is waayyyyy too conservative to ever get a tattoo (opposites attract!), but I bet if he did ever get a Disney tattoo, it would be Donald Duck.

Sorry to add to the list, but I never got the T-shirt design! Any help to a link would be great!

Exciting news: My Gramps will move to a new appartment while we're in the US or shortly after our return - At age 91!!! And he isn't moving into assisted living, but to a brandnew appartment in a so-called 'barrier-free environment'. This means that there aren't any stairs in the house - except for emergencies. For everyday use it's all lifts and ramps. Extra wide doors and everything else to accomodate walking aids, etc.
Hard to believe, but he moved to his appartment in 1939  He always used to say 'You don't move an old tree as his roots are too deeply anchored in the ground!', but living on the third floor without an elevator eventually made him see the light ;) His new place is about 3 miles as the crow flies from our place.

Has anyone thought about putting the logo on the front of a white or khaki ball cap and maybe disname embroidered on the back?? I am going to try it if I can resize the logo.

Check out the timer!!

What struck me in your post is, third floor w/o an elevator, and it took him until age 91 to decide it was not a good idea???? I can't stand walking from my basement to my bedroom (also 3 floors)!!! At 40, I guess I should stop complaining. :teeth:

OK, just wanted to make sure my post would go through. Just did my 3 miles around deck 4.....now I can eat whatever I want guilt-free. Lots iof special things going on since we are the first of the new itineraries. Free drinks during the embarkation lunch and the castaway gift is something new (do you want to know or be surprised?) We got APL rotation because we asked to be linked with our DIS friends. This the first time we have not had PAL and I can't get over how NOISEY the dining room was! It's good to be with friends again though. Yesterday we were all kinda wiped so we didn't do anything much after dinner......today I'm ready to party! Yes, they have seltzer at the drink station....any other things you'd like me to find out?
Gotta go....I have better things to do!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. I'm with you, Bettemom, about skydiving.....I was fully intending to do it for my 50th, but we had the opportunity to see Celine Dion instead and I chose that one! Still want to do it though.....I've got parasailing this week at CC!

Eric
I was 40 when I got my tattos. I went with a group of my Disney friends (all 40+ women) and we all got some sort of Mickey tattos. No two are the same. It's amazing at how socially acceptable tattoos are now days, plus the artwork and coloring is so elaborate.

We did not get the shirt design email. Can someone please resend?

Who has the mickey pedicure? what is this? I want one too:earseek:

Did everyone do their excursion ressies? We have not received our packet yet, guess I'll have to call.

We have 1 cat, black & white named Mickey. Adopted him after we returned from wdw 13 years ago. And 1 dog, mix named Jamie 10 years old.

Tatoos - I have one. Birthday present to self when turned 30, purple roses on a vine.

What's the news on the menu changes? will the changes be made for our cruise?

Marianne,
I guess that we Europeans are more fond of walking/climbing stairs than Americans. I'm always shocked when we're driving through American towns with almost no sidwalks.
We also live on the fourth floor w/o elevator and don't have a problem with it. I.e. we Germans use deposited beverage containers to create a smaller impact on the environment, a typical box contains 10 bottle of 1.5 liters each resulting in a weight of about 35lbs. So when we come home from our local supermarket I usually have three of these boxes and a 20 to 30lbs shopping bag and carry them all at once up to our appartment - I'm just too lazy to go twice;)
Anja for example rides the train to work and has to walk 1/2 a mile from the station to the hospital. She could also take the bus, but usually she'd have to wait 5 minutes for it and so she prefers to walk.
Or take my in-box at the office: I have about 40 people delivering their stuff to me for further analysis who are located at the other end of my floor, about 100 yards away. So I placed my in-box in their area and have to go over there at least 5 times a day to check for mail. I also often have business with them and prefer to do it personally instead of calling. I hate sitting at my desk for more than 30 minutes in a row.

Auntmeme, My Disney pedicure will be so cool. One of our patients came in a few months ago sporting her mickey toenails and everyone in the office went crazy over it. On the large toe is Minnies face, then on the remaining four toes, the nails are done in red, with white dots, (like Minnie's dress). Anyway, I found out where she had them done, and plan on treating myself and DD to a pedicure before we leave home.::MinnieMo

Hey guys,

Kathy just bought us a new ink-jet printer as our children have confiscated the other two that I bought. It is a HP 1210 all in one and works great. It hooks up via usb so that I can use it with my powerbook macintosh laptop or use it with both of our windows desktops.

Kathy has gone to Knoxville, TN this afternoon to take our oldest daughter for a state cna test. Certified Nursing Assistant. Next week she will be in St. Louis with our youngest daughter as the daughter is going through her office training for her new job at nurses for newborns here in Nashville.

If there are still any slots left I may try to para sail at CC. I will be the one that has to be towed by the C130 hercules transport aircraft. Mike
