Sayings for back of shirts....First Mate, Captain, Admiral?

Got DD signed up for her dive class. She will be a PADI diver by 7/18. She has been working with her grandfather on his farm, and getting paid for it. She has saved up enough for a very nice dive mask.

Hi Laura! Glad to see you back here! The cruise is getting close now. Are you as tired of the rainstorms as we are? I'm listening to the booming thunder again right now. And to think the weathermen were complaining about a drought just a few weeks ago -- we'll be trading our cars for a boat if this keeps up. Our DIS group is planning a couple of Antigua excursions but I can't remember the name of our website right now. Maybe somebody else can provide it, or I'll post it when my brain starts working again.

How about "Rookie"?

Aren't there some movie characters that are attached to these two phrases?

The Terminator said "I'll be back".

I can't remember who said "I'm back"...

Hi, everyone!

How about making the back of the shirts like a concert tour shirt, with the dates of the previous cruises? Maybe with the heading Cruisetoberfest Tour?

Of course, we may not have been on the same cruises that this whole group has, but we have been the past 2 Octobers and this is our 3rd......

That may be too complicated.

Enjoying lurking!

Actually, "I'm back" is used a lot in the movies. Randy Quaid said it in Independence Day. The little girl said "They're back" in Poltergeist. I know there are a few more, but I can't think of them right now.

The only thing I don't like about "I'll be back" is, don't the veterans plan to be back again, too?

I was recently reading a newsletter I got from "Passporter" and I came across a paragragh on the Antigua excursions. Here is the link to the page:

The page has all or most of the excursions Disney is offering.

Hi guys Kim here...

Just checking in, my computer is out having its yearly " checkup" so i can only get on line at work, I will get the computer back today...

We had a great time with Peter & Jenn and Mary Jo and family Tuesday. Thanks for bringing all the good food... We fixed salads, drinks, rolls & desserts. I did keep the desserts somewhat on the healthier side, homemade fresh peach cobbler, green apple crisp, fresh roasted apricots and fresh plum tart. Would you believe we have no desserts left!!!

We will spend tomorrow with Mary Jo and family and then they go home. July 4th weekend we will have Fiona & Jim and Renee, Lenny and Haley visiting, lots of fun!!!!

Best get back to work for a minute or two.

Well at least I've activated a lot of brain cells in thinking about the backs of the shirts. Hmnnnn making them look like "tour" shirts?? I'm sure whatever we do we're bound to have fellow shipmates asking us ?'s on what's up with the shirts.

OK ... Time for a Friday Dance ... http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/rainbowdance.gifhttp://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/happydance.gifhttp://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/rainbowdance.gif

My DH thinks we should just be one happy group and no one should have the appearance of being in charge of the rest of us. Like that would work.

He suggested newbies: Cruisetoberfest XL, 2 year veterans: Cruisetoberfest XXL, and 3 year veterans: Cruisetoberfest XXXL.

Like they do on the athletic apparel for universities. Or drop the Cruisetoberfest because I'm sure it'll be on the front.

My idea about the backs of the shirts:

1. Cruisetoberfest III will be on the front of the shirts only.
2. A clipart of a startled Mickey will be used with some wording.

If I have time this weekend (cross your fingers) ... I'll try and make up a bunch of the suggestions so you can see what I'm headed for.

Just got another idea that may make veterans and newbies alike happy ... Appropriate Clip-Art with

A ... Caution ... Ready to Party!
B ... Beware ... We finally made it!

KEEP THOSE IDEAS COMING ......

There was a burglar who broke into a home and started to gather the items he wanted to take. All of a sudden he heard, "Jesus is watching you!" He didn't see anything in the dark house, so he went on with what he was doing.

He heard, "Jesus is watching you!" again and then he really wondered who was saying that. He turned on the flashlight, scanned the room, and finally saw a parrot.

"Did you say that?" asked the burgler.

"Yes," replied the parrot.

"By the way, what's your name?" the burgler inquired.

"Moses," answered the parrot.

"That's a strange name for a parrot. Who named you that?"

"The same people who named their rotweiller Jesus!"

My 2 cents...all the shirts should be the same. We are ALL on Cruisetoberfest3, and the previous cruisers already know who they sailed with before, SO...if I see someone I don't recognize, wearing a C3 shirt...I'll introduce myself!

I still like the "Making Magical Memories" slogan from the Logo.

The Greeks just knocked the French out of the European Championship Tournament
The French are the European Champions - or better; They were :teeth:
The Greeks were considered the absolute underdogs and now have reached the semi-finals.

For those who don't know what the heck I'm talking about: Right now the European Championship is taking place in Portugal.

You won't hear much from us this weekend: We're driving to Bavaria tomorrow. First we will do some shopping in the romantic town of Aschaffenburg and then we head over to a coworker of mine to party. This will kind of a scenic ride with the top down through the forests and hills of Northern Bavaria. The forecast promised blue skies and temps in the low 70ies. We've had temps in the 50ies and 60ies in the last two weeks, a lot of storms and rain and even a couple of tornadoes.
Here comes trivia:
If Germany were the 51st American state, it would be 10th in the American Tornado Ranking. The source for that is The National Geographic, German Edition (To which I'm a subscriber of the first hour).

Jill,
just yesterday we met our two police friends at the gym and talked to them about the patches. They'll get some for you and the other law enforcers in our group.
I don't see them as regularily anymore, because one of them has changed from beating the streets to the burglary squad working different times now. And the other guy is training to become part of a SWAT-team. But as it's still eleven weeks to go, I'm sure that I will get enough patches-and perhaps some other items too.

I've tried to access the picturetrail site a couple of times, and the site is insisting that it needs to modify my browser settings. I'm not sure exactly what it is trying to do, but that's a no-no in my book.

After accessing the picturetrail site, I lose lost the ability to display any graphics, and the only way to get them back is to re-boot my computer... another no-no in my book.

Anybody else having problems?

Anybody else know where else we can see the logo?

usetheforceluke - I tried accessing the site from my work computer and could not get the pictures either. I believe it was because the security levels were too high and/or just did not like the graphics. Came home and used my own PC (with all pop ups and anti-viruses loaded) and it works fine. I'm probably no help, but that's my story!

Now, why I decided to finally chime in....
The logo is great. Why not put it on both sides of the shirt??

Hi Allen,

I believe it was because the security levels were too high

Our main computer had the browser hijacked to something called MS-Search (a subsidiary of CoolWebSearch) this morning... always nice to see early in the day. Had to run the Ad removal programs again even though I ran them yesterday, which is tedious.

My computer is routed through the main computer for Internet access and has much higher security settings so it didn't get this garbage, but it's recognizing 'something' isn't right.

I've just tried using a third party site to access the logo but the third party site is saying that the logo site is blocked.

We may have to wait for a bit.

My I still cant access the site must be virus soft ware someone pleae email them to Me as i like the settings i have...

USETHEFORCELUKE U are not alone....

We use Nortons Professional for business as our choice of anti virus.... and it keeps us safe after going threw 3 VIRUSES LAST YEAR and having to Write the computer to Zero's witch takes 5 hours and then having to re install windows xp and then all other programs and then update them all... I will leave it the way it is... 3 times I had to do that Stinks....

See ya ....

USETHEFORCELUKE - that happened to me too. I had to go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, and remove it from there too. I then ran all the ad removal software that I have and that finally got it removed. It took a while, but it's finally gone. There is also something called MY SEARCH that does this too.

I just hate these programs that attach themselves to my PC.

Good luck.

So, I fibbed. Our computer problems got worse yesterday....my dad (who does comp support for a living) had to come up to look at it. I heard words come out of his mouth that I thought he was uncapable of ever speaking! Ultimately, he said "This is the worst I have ever seen!" I still don't know what is wrong with it, other that Trojan was involved and my dad swore A LOT!!!! At least we didn't lose everything, which is what he thought happend when he went to download microsoft updates, then it went in a restart loop forever.

Whatever safety stuff he installed on the computer doesn't let me view ANYTHING now....the bronze sponser logo, for instance, no longer comes up by my name, so I had no luck viewing the logo until I came to work today to use the internet here. So, love the logo, hate computers!

FYI The Font LOGO will be what's used on the name tags too, OK?
Opsy ... that is if you guys still want me to make the tags?

Still working on the back logo ... I have it down to two ideas and I want to release them both at the same time for review.

I believe we have decided to use the white shirts as they are the easiest to get in a variety of styles and sizes for everyone. Regular t-shirts, v-necks, sleeveless, etc, etc, etc.

Love living in the country ... just had my favorite doe (deer) come over to me for her hand fed bread. She had her two tiny babies with her (fawns) and I'm feeding her burger buns and she's feeding them milk. Moma is so gentle, she comes right to me and eats right out of my hand and even lets me rub her neck. Hardest part is making her NOT eat my plants!

Gotta run, just got some more flowers to plant in my front bed and want to get them in while it's still cool. They call this summer, the weather is in the high 60's and it's the end of June!

I already made the lime green Mickey head ones so all I have left are these.

BTW - I will be mailing both magnets to everyone on Eric's list. I decided that it would be too much to try to carry all those magnets with me on the plane. I already have most of everyone's addresses but still need some more.

Here is a good windows program that will remove adware. It is free, but you need to run it several times a week if you are a heavy internet user to get rid of the adware. Here is the link: Adware (http://www.download.com/3000-2144-10045910.html?part=69274&subj=dlpage&tag=button) Mike

Thanks for sending the logo Eric. I'll go look at it but I'm sure it will be great.

Thanks Renee for doing the magnets.

Jill -- I feel for you in computers. Jim understands them but I have to admit that I don't understand a lot about them.

Saw the Jays lose today to the Expos which is probably the last time that 2 Canadian baseball teams will play against each other for a long, long time. It's really too bad because I grew up watching the Expos before the Jays came along.

Yesterday though we went to the Toronto Zoo -- hadn't been there in years so it was great to go and see some of the changes.

Election here tomorrow for which I'm thankful because then finally it will be over -- maybe, as the prediction is for a minority government which probably means that we'll have another election in a year or so. Yuck.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Mike: Ad-aware is one of the pieces of software that I use to keep things clean and tidy. I'm running it a lot more than I want to lately unfortunately. As for Apples/Macs, you're correct. But then if Windows wasn't such a piece of dung, then the unemployed Windows hackers would concentrate on Macs.

Hey, George! I'm a fan, too! Do you have a favorite driver? I have a few drivers that I like, but I definitely know who I can't stand.

Ryan Newman is coming to Crystal Lake next Thursday (the 8th), because the race is in Chicagoland--there are a bunch of driver appearances in the area.

I didn't get to see the race yesterday. Do you know who won? Jeff Gordon tends to rule the California road course.

Just looking through the list of excursions that DCL.com lists. Looks like we're going swimming with dolphins in Antigua. Heidi is so excited, she hyper-ventilates every time she thinks about it. I think we'd have a dolphin for a pet if it were up to her.

However, Dad is a bit of a wimp (whimp?). He says he's not going. So I'm trying to talk him into taking David on the "stingray" excursion--David is a bigger fan of stingrays than dolphins.

Now for St. Thomas. We want to go to St. John this time, but not sure how we want to get there (by excursion or just hopping the "ferry").

Can't believe we're almost within 3 months of the cruise!

 Must admit #2 is my favorite too cause it's my hero - Goofy. Then because he's hauling all the "stuff" that us tourists usually have and lastly because you hear that phrase more than once when you are on the ship! Once I saw that clip-art I just had to make it into something ... and he's legal cause it's from a Disney Print program that I bought and paid for ... as long as we don't exchange any monies, he's ok.

Maybe for the back each family can use whatever one they want as long as the fronts are all the same???

For the cruisers that have not done this before ... it is so much fun to enter the terminal and be able to look for the shirt ... then VOILA a new friend or two or maybe 30!

Maybe just a word of caution ... us past cruisers usually carry on like long lost relatives with the hugging and kissing. A word to the wise ... the teenages usually run and hide. You know, "They're not with me!"

I like them all but I agree that if everyone has the front then we can pick our favourites for the back.

Just want to echo Cathy -- it's great to wear the tshirts at the terminal -- even the CM's will recognize it. When we checked in we knew that Eric and Anja were already there as the CM said that he'd already seen the logo. The CM was amazed when we knew that the passports were from Germany right away!

The tshirts were helpful in picking out people in line because we had not met everyone prior to going to the terminal.

Also for the newbies please don't hesitate to come up to anyone wearing the tshirt. Everyone is really friendly. Can't wait for the cruise to come around again.

Back to work for a bit -- 4 messages are blinking on my voicemail and although I'd like to leave and ignore them this might not be a good thing. Darn that.

OMG I LOVE all three. How can I choose just one? Maybe I'll buy myself 3 white t-shirts, and put the front logo on all three, and the a back logo on each. Then I can choose my back logo depending on what I plan on doing that day. This will also cut down on my new clothes list. Just stock up on white t-shirts. LOL

susan &will, I can't speak for the rest of the gang, but DH and I did not really spend a lot of time with each other. He was often off with the "boys, and I was often off with the "girls". We've been married 15 years. This is not like a honeymoon cruise where everyone is clinging to their new spouse. I think he will get out of it what he puts in. Just MHO.:)

Tim and I will celebrate our 2nd anniversary tomorrow, so we are headed to the mountains for a couple of nights of camping with Orion the dog-faced-boy (our dog!).....we wanted to do a romantic stay in a bed and breakfast (with out the dog, of course!) but that stinking final payment is coming up!

Then Tim's brother (who I don't play well with:rolleyes: ) is coming for a visit, so I will again hit the camping trails with my parents (although you can't call what they do camping....it involves showers, ovens, DVD players and air conditioning!) So you all have a great week, a very safe 4th, and talk to you when I get back! (I have a feeling I will make time for some internet between camping trips, though!)

Happy Anniversary Jill and Tim. Have a great vacation!

Susan and Will....I have to agree with my twin on this one. My DH and I did lots of things together, but also went our own way too. DH favorite thing to do was to walk the decks at night after the kids and I went to bed. He would chat with anyone he ran into. He also did some hanging around the pool with the kids while I did the galley tour, or shopping ect. This is where our walkie-talkies came in handy.

I took today off and spent the day at the beach with the kids. We had a ball. We love going to the beach, but going on the weekends is so difficult. There is so little parking, unless you go EARLY in the morning.

Hi susan&will ! If you look at the bottom of Eric's (Viking's)last post you will see a link to Cruisetoberfest. This is where you send your information. Real name, age, occupation, hometown, cabin #, dinning time, where you will be staying the night before the cruise, and any special occation you might be celebrating while on board. Eric will add this info to "The List" and e-mail you a copy. This info is NOT posted publicly anywhere. Please feel free to leave out any info you are not comfortable sharing.
The list is a way for us to get to know a little about one another prior to sailing. It is also a way for us to have an accurate count of our group for those of us who are bringing little items for everyone.
It is all in fun. We will meet for the sail a way party and say hello, then we know what other's look like! They when we see one another during the cruise we say HI!:wave2: ::yes::
Several of us are doing excursions together, and some are dinning together.

Well said, Mary ::yes:: Thank you

I've cought the mother of all colds:headache: :worried: I stayed home today and wll do the same again tomorrow. Got more than 100°F right now. Unfortunately I have an important meeting Thursday morning: I arranged a presentation of AED (Automated External Defibrillation) for my company which will take place then. I want to convince our CEO to get two units and have to be there to present my case.
I push comes to shove I'll take some medication, dreg myself to the office, and get home after the meeting again.
We lost one of our employees just 10 days ago: He stepped off his plane (Small Cessna, he was an instructor), walked some paced and collapsed. Major coronary :sad1: He kind of called for it: 30 lbs overweight, heavy smoker, but he was only 56!!
Sounds harsh, but I'm going to use his case in the meeting to emphasize the necessity of getting the AED-units. This could have happened at the office as well. Thank God, it happened AFTER he left the plane!!! 5 minutes earlier and he would have been on final approach over a densely populated area.

OK, gotta catch some Zs now to fight that cold

Don't forget: Update tomorrow!!! Susan & Will, please try to submit your info tonight to be on the next edition of the List!!

I just saw on the news that Mr. Greenspan raised the interest in the US by .25%. The first raise in more than 4 years. After checking this on VideoText I saw that more raises are expected in the nearest futures so I decided to stop waiting and buy some Greenbacks. I just ordered $1200 from Amercan Express via ADAC (German AAA), because they have a special offer without any service charge and free delivery by courier.
It's just €997
Next month we're gonna get some additional cash, $500 or so and then we're set to go:Pinkbounc :bounce:

So, the heavy rain cut our camping trip short. It was non-stop from the time we got the tent up....had dinner in the back of the 4 Runner....Tim thought that was appropriate as he proposed in the 4 Runner....what a romantic! Came home to VERY bad news, today. Two of our deputies who were headed back to the shooting range were in a car accident yesterday. The passenger was killed. The driver, who lives 4 houses down from us (they call our street "cop land"...but the neighbors love it) is ok, but not doing too well mentally. I feel insanely bad for him and his wife, and there feels like there is nothing that can be done. How many dinners can you offer to make? Just not good news.

Anways, October is on its way! Right?

Sorry to hear about your fellow officers. Even though this sounds awkward: It's often harder for the survivor of such an accident than for the deceased one. We have special emergency-chaplains/shrinks over here, attending the survivors and/or relative startings right at the accident site and then accompanying them for some weeks. They can be of great help.

Eric,
Thanks for the list! It looks like my daughters will have lots of playmates their age....10 and 6. Also, my son 13, is alittle outnumbered by the girls his age, but doesn't mind. On the last day of school, they had "peer awards" and he was voted the "most friendliest classmate" out of 100 kids, so hopefully, he'll have a few new friends (girls/guys) by the end of the cruise.

Kathy,(Mrs. Papa)
Are you retiring or going PRN? I currently work PRN in the newborn nursery also. The schedule works out great!

What excursions is everyone doing on the trip? When do we need to book them? Can't make up my mind since there are so many to choose from!

We booked the REAS pkg. We had our 15 yr. anniversary in May and decided that would be our gift to each other. I made my ressies earlier this week.

We're getting ready for our 1st trip to WDW (seperate trip from cruise). I'm alittle overwhelmed at all the info. I feel like we don't have a plan (I'm a planner) and we'll be at all the wrong places at the wrong times (is that possible?) I guess I'm looking at it as this is my first trip, anything I see is new to me, I'll do what I can in the time that I can. Just want to make the most of it. Most importantly, remembering that I'm on "vacation" :)

Take care,
Laura

Jill & Tim ... I feel bad for you guys. Maybe you should check and see if they have any counselors for PTSD. A long time ago we had an incident and got the counseling and really helped a lot of people. I'll be thinking of you during the next several trying days.

Just read about "Nurses for Newborns"...what a wonderful organization! My nephew passed away at the age of 4 from complications from twin to twin transfusion syndrome. My sister's obstetrician never even heard of this syndrome! Conor would be alive today if this obstetrician was aware of this syndrome. You can go to www.ConorsRun.com to learn more about this syndrome. My family, and Conor and all his family, were on the Magic in 11/2000, two months before he passed away. Conor left us with many wonderful memories from that vacation.

Kudos to nurses who dedicate their lives to helping save the lives of innocent babies!

Well Whoopee for me...

I just called disney regarding the florida resident discount. We were upgraded from a cat 10 inside stateroom to a cat 9 a room with a window. Whoopee...On top of that there was an additional savings in the rate and we still got the $200 on board booking credit which I cant believe. Last year we got upgraded from a cat 11 to a catagory 10 but lost the on board booking credit. We will now be in room 1040 which is almost across the hall from where we were last year. We would have preferred to me on a higher level just due to the fact that you have to take the elevators just to get to the back of the ship but its still good because we are right between the forward and middle elevators. and not a lot of through traffic.

I know it doesnt sound like much to those who are cruising in higher catagory rooms but it definetely means a lot to me. Its a great way to end a lousy week and start a long weekend.

Cant wait to see you guys even more now...

WOW! So much to catch up on!

Laurarn, nice to see you posting. Happy belated anniversary!
I'm sure you son(and daughters) will find lots of kids to hang with.
Have a wonderful time at WDW. My recommendations for the DO NOT MISS THINGS:
Animal Kingdom: Tarzan Rocks, Ledgend of the Lion King, Safari Tour, A Bugs life 3D movie, Countdown to Extintion.
Epcot: Spaceship Earth (much shorter lines at the end of the day, but don't miss it!) The Malstome in Norway, Mexico boat ride, Iluminations, Body Wars, The Living Seas, The Land, Honey I shurnk the Audiance.
MGM: Star Wars, Fantasmic, Backlot tour, Tower of Terror
Magic Kingdom: Buzz Lightyear, Parade, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Pairates of the Carribean.
If you are staying on WDW property, get to the parks early...take a break in the middle of the day (busiest time) and go back to your hotel, for a nap or a swim, the head back in late afternoon.
Bring a small backpack with rain ponchos, small snacks and some juice packs. If you plan on dining for either lunch or dinner in any of the parks, make reservations today! The "Breakfast with Mickey" at the Contemptory is our favorite "Character Meal".
Excursions on the cruise: We are doing the Eco-Tour in Antiqua, and the Coki Beach trip on St Thomas. We did the Trunk Bay trip the last 2 visits there, so we thought we'd try something different.

Kathy...congrats on your retirement!

Arlene...congrats on your upgrade! How did you get a Florida Res. rate? We have a house in Florida, and are still registered to vote there. I wonder if this would qualifiy for Fl. Res Rates?

Welcome to Jeff and family! Glad to have you with us!:wave2:

RellingTwin: Thanks so much for all the great info! I'm taking notes right now:) We're staying at the Polynesian and I did make at PS for Chef Mickey's Character Breakfast and the Spirit of Aloha show. Looking forward to it!
Also, regarding the excursions, this is our first time on the 7 day and never been to any of these ports. I would love to see Trunk Bay, as I hear such wonderful things about it, but is it worth all the time and transportation it takes to get there? Is there enough time to relax before its time to head back? Our other choice is to take a taxi to one of the St. Thomas beaches, possibly Coki or Megan's bay. Decisions, decisions:) Thanks again and have a great 4th of July!

I'll bring a portable CD-Writer with an integrated card-reader. This contraption reads CompactFlash, MicroDrive, SmartMedia, MemoryStick, SD-Cards, and MultiMediaCards. The images are transferred to CD-ROMs burned in Multi-Session-Mode.
If you have one of the abovementioned cards just bring some blank CDs with you and feel free to download your pics at our stateroom whenever you want.
I also have only three 128Meg-cards for my 5Megapixel-cam, but this is usually more than sufficient for one day, enabling me to do about 200-250 pics in full resolution per day.
BTW: Disney (Shutters) also offers to burn your cards to CD: For $15 :earseek:

If you want to go to go to Coki Beach, you may want to join our group of snorkelers/divers. We booked a combined snorkeling/diving-excursion. The CokiDive-team will pick us up at the port, take us there, provide all the gear, and bring us back. If you're not into diving/snorkeling you can just use the transportation and enjoy the beach.

Don't miss Mission:Space????? I am terrified to ride this thing! Tim is all about it, but I picture myself being one the the pitied who doesn't make it out to the trash cans or a bathroom to let it fly. We will be doing two evenings in Epcot....perhaps I can give it a spin (no pun intended) last thing one night. It oughta work well with whatever dinner we have prior!

Also, thanks to all for your thoughts in this very sad time for us here. The funeral was hard, as it was our first "killed in the line of duty" experience. The driver (and surviver of the crash) is hopefully on his way to emotional recovery. He went to the funeral in his honor guard uniform, which he said he didn't want to do initially. But, we think it is the first step. The help that all of our neighbors are offering to them is amazing, and it can only help!

Jill, I am very prone to motion sickness on rides like Mission: Space and was leary about trying it. Yes I did feel a bit off, but not too bad. Again as we were approaching Mars, I thought the same thing Peter did "I hope we don't have to fly back to Earth!", but we didn't. I went on it on an empty stomach. Was able to eat right afterward, just a little disoriented.

When we were at WDW last year Mission:Space was virtually a walk-on-ride, so we did it three times in a row, each time sitting in different positions.
We also did Tower of Terror three times in a row, and in 2001 we rode the Kraken at SeaWorld for half an hour continuously.
BUT you would never get us on Dr. Doom's Freefalltower at IoA!! We hate freefalltowers in the open!!!

I have not been to WDW since Mission to Mars has opened but will go on it next time we are at EPCOT. I LOVE the "thrill"rides! I have to ride them alone as I am the only one in my family who enjoys them. I also love the new one in Magic Kigdom where you feel like the alien is breathing down your neck! I can't remember the name of it:confused:
One year we went and Star Wars was a walk on, so I rode it about 6 times in a row. What a BLAST!

Laura...we would love for you to join us at Coki Beach. However, if you want to go to Trunk Bay, it is not difficult. We went the first time with a DCL excustion and I felt we were NOT there long enough. So the next time we went, we took a cab to Red Hook, a ferry to St John and a cab to Trunk Bay. It was VERY easy to do. We go to TB about 10:30 and stayed until about 2:00pm. It was a wonderful day!
Peter, I may be interested in the gift exchange. Do we have to mail the gift at the 60 day mark? Or give the gift once on board?

We would like to participate in the gift-exchange-thing, but in our case exchanging the gift on board would be mandatory: Shipping from Europe to the US is about $20-30 and I somehow consider shipping a $20-gift for such a sum harebrained :p
Nevertheless I love the idea, as we used to do this for our last four xmas-party at the office and it always was fun.

Hope everyone had a safe and Happy 4th of July. I'll even have a happy 5th of July since I will be off work that day.

Eric-- I believe the Revenge of the Mummy has just opened at Universal Studio in Florida also. Just got my AAA magazine and it had a big article about the ride in Florida. So maybe you could go to Universal Studio Orlando while visiting the USA.

Peter-- Might be interested in gift exchange once I have more information. The previous ones that I have done on cruise we did on the ship and everyone brought something from their State to exchange. We did it on one of the sea days. Just a thought.

Nancy,
I just saw it on another thread too. That ride is already available at IoA in Orlando. Unfortunately this year we will only be in the Orlando-area as long as it takes to pick up our car on 9/11, and for returning it on 10/01. No themeparks this year. I won't say that WDW, IoA, USF, SW, etc have become boring, but it has become kind of a routine for us. So this time we'll explore the 'real' America instead of the virtual one ;) Strolling through real cities, meeting our American friends in their 'natural habitat':jester:
Additionally it saves a lot of bucks: Last year we paid €1000 alone for entrance fees to the parks :earseek:
BTT talking about saving some bucks: I just had a look at our voucher for the free cruise and discovered that even the gratuities for our servers and stateroomhost/hostess are included. I guess we'll get voucher in the values of the recommended amounts to put into the little sleeves. As we ussually tip well above the recommended amounts we will beef it up with some cash, of course. But nevertheless it's worth another $150, which can be used for souvenirs or cocktails.

Hi Peter, count mom and I in also, we can be counted as one or two, whatever works best for you.

Is Jenn still talking about seeing the Moose ???? My GOD she was so excited, I thought she would drive the car off the road.

Fiona & Jim are on the way home, Renee & Family are stopping by this Am to visit for a while before they head home... Everyone had such a great time this weekend, it was sooooo much fun.

Back to work tomorrow, I have 3 days to pack up the lab and we move on Friday... my morning commute goes from 45 mins to 15 mins, great savings on gas!!!

Bye, Kim

P.S. Jenn, remember you are going to send me the Saturdays you are off for July/August.....

We are home!! Had a wonderful time with Bette, Kim, Peter, Jenn, Renee, Lenny and Haley. I don't think we need to eat for a week at least!

Must say that the state troopers were out in force yesterday as we passed a couple of accidents and lots of people pulled over. Border crossing wasn't backed up at all so that was great.

Big highlight of course was the MOOSE!! Totally amazing to finally see an American Moose (have seen Canadian Moose) but this moose was much closer!!

Really looking forward to the cruise now that's for sure (and cookie night too).

Of course we could include the kids when u pm me just let me know that it is a CHILD...
still waiting for more feed back as it stands now ,
it looks like .. the gifts would be mailed at the 60 day mark and final payment must have been made...

and we could take it from there ..

one exception to the rules is Viking / Eric

We have a special thing planned for him ..
Since he is in GERMANY .. and shipping to Germany can Cost more than the $20.00 gift....

this moose was much closer!!

The last time I was that close to a moose was a couple of years ago on a back country canoe trip, but this one was quite impressive.

You see them every now and then at the side of the road, sort of just checking stuff out and then they disappear back in to the trees... You can still hear them though because they are so-o-o big and it's virtually impossible to miss them... you sorta have to have you're eyes closed all of the time to miss one of them.

Ok Jim...last time I looked, I didn't drive with my eyes closed and we still have not seen a moose...we are jealous....and yes, the hicks from Pennsylvania do know what a moose looks like...you must have seen him in Maine!

Sarah and I just had a really nice dinner at Olive Garden with zapp1213....I think we overstayed our welcome at Olive Garden because the manager came over to say hello and ask us how our 4th of July was!!! So Marianne....do you think that we will pass Tom's test??? Mary Jo

We got home around 8 PM last night after stopping for a couple of hours at the Holyoke mall. Got Haley some Princess dresses for the cruise for dinner.

We had a great time over the weekend and can't wait for cookie night. We took Haley to Storyland and she went on her first Log Flume ride and had a blast. She kept saying "whee". Also went up Mt. Washington.

And oh my God, we actually saw a Moose! First time ever for us to see one. Definitely the highlight of the trip.

Peter, Love the gift exchange idea! I'll send you the info.

Southern Fried Nightmare yesterday! Mark had off from work, so he took the kids out on the boat, (they got some great shots of the dolphin that I will attempt to post.) I worked. When I got home the house was very hot, since DH turned off the AC before he left earlier that day. I turned on the AC, then put dinner in the oven, Mark and the kids got home, 20 minutes later we lost our power. Yes, I paid the bill!:smooth: A transformor blew and left a lagre area without power. We were miserable!!!! The temp in the house was 85, and it was still cooler then outside. The power company said we should have power restored by 8:30 pm. NOT! At 10 pm I took a cold shower, at 10:30 I went out to my car and got the AC going. At 11:30 the power Finally came back on.:hyper:

The temp is around 100 again today! :earseek:

Hi everyone:

Hope everybody had a happy 4th of july.

Well we found out that we do not get the $200 on board credit for rebooking on board along with the florida discount but we still end up ahead of the game because the price differance is slightly ahead of the on board booking credit and we still end up with a better room. We got the discount because Andy has a florida license. The florida discount is only available for certain categories and since we are still booking lower categories we have no where to go but up.....

As far as the gift exchange is that swapped ahead of time or on the boat and how do you know who to give the gift to? Are names chosen out of a hat or something to that effect?

I work for a federal agency that does retirement and survivor benefits for railroad workers and their families. Just one example of a call I got - telephone caller from another state "The checker at the Wegman's told me that she was married to a railroader and he died. She wants to know what to do." ME ... No problem, I'll help her - What's her name? ... Caller "I don't know". ME ... What's her phone #, so I can call her? Caller "I don't know. She just want a brochure"
Me ... I'll be glad to send her one, What's her address?"
Caller ... "I don't know, but can you just mail her the booklet "
OK .. Give me a hint ... WHAT THE HECK DO YOU WANT ME TO DO!Now believe me I didn't make that one up. If any of you know where to get a crystal ball, let me know, cause apparently I need one for work!!!!!!!

Had one of those myself yesterday. It seemed all the drama that I missed on my week away from my desk decided to all pop up at lunch time yesterday and continue until 5:00, as I packed up and ran for the door. (Thank god for Fridays, which are Wednesdays for me!) I always forget that the inmates are with us because they make bad choices, yet I seem to be continually surprised at their actions sometimes. At least I can say I never have the same day twice at work!

It looks like they extended our time in Antigua from the last time I looked. I had us arriving at 0700, leaving at 1730, but it looks like we arrive at 0600 and stay until 1830. So more shopping time after our excursion!

Why: We had a GREAT Brunch at Palo in 2002. We tried to repeat it in 2003 and everything went wrong. We were not happy campers. So we came up with the idea of just invading one of the dinning rooms for lunch.
How: Just e-mail me, Twinave@aol.com, PM me, or reply on this thread, and I will add you to the list. So far we have 38 people.

One more note. This will be one of the last times for the group to
get together. We can plan our day at Castaway Cay, take pictures, and exchange e-mails addresses. So bring your camera!
Later,
Avé
Tracy and Bill have joined our happy brunch bunch! Anyone else? More is Better!!!!

And I though lawyers were the only ones to get those types of phone calls!!

Honest to goodness recent phone call:

Hello, I need a lawyer

I'm his paralegal can I help you?

I need a lawyer

What type of case do you have sir?

I don't know, I need a lawyer.

I will be happy to assist you with any questions, but I need to know what the issue is.

I told you I don't know, I need a lawyer.

What is you question for the lawyer, perhaps I can answer it for you.

I said I don't know, I need a lawyer.

Are you getting the picture here. This went on for another minute or so at which point I told him when he could explain his situation I would be glad to assit him with speaking to a lawyer.

That's only one of about 10 I get a day like that.

The girls at work made a sign for my office door that says Krazy People "R" Us. I seem to get them all.

ROTFLMAO! Love the stories! I have "phone duty" 2 X a week at work and it always floors me! Great example:
A nurse at a doctors office in another town called and asked if we could see this patient.(She had never been seen by our office before). She was going to be in Charleston and needed to be seen as soon as possible. I asked what the problem was but of course, no information was available. So..I told her (the nurse) to have the patient call and we would get her worked into the schedule. She shows up, (late) and when asked the reason for the emergency visit, she says she has been "dizzy and tired" (BTW I work in a OB/Gyn office). When asked how long this has gone on, she says "ever since I had my baby"...OK...how long ago was that?....Oh, about a year ago.
I SO wanted to ask her what made it an EMERGENCY TODAY..but kept my mouth shut.

I just got back from seeing "The Notebook". What a great movie. Very sad, but very good!

Kids info for the kids list will be sent soon.

Ave, the lunch sounds great!

Today was Kathy and my 32nd anniversary. We met on this day back in 1972.:bounce: Our wedding anniversary is September the 1st. We married after about a month's engagement.

Sure do miss the countdown timers.

Put us on the list Ave. Can't remember whether we have already notified you or not. Mike

Eric, Yes you can take your LOTTO winnings home with you, but the rule is you have to give 50% to the person who invited you to FL. (That would be......ME!)::yes:: Later,

Invitation:confused: Does that mean that we're your guests and you pay for everything? I'm just asking because our tickets and the rental car are due in 6 weeks:angel: Shall my TA send the bill to PCB? :jester:
