We've rented our points and are ready for our first studio at BW Villas.

I understand that housekeeping is not provided--and I'm happy to make my own bed.

BUT, since we won't have a washer/dryer, what about fresh towels. Someone once told me that I could request "turn-down" service at check-in for $10/night and that fresh towels are included. Is that true? What exactly comes with turn-down service?

Jenny,

I'm not sure what comes with "turn down" service. But you should get a "trash & towel" on the third day of your stay. This means housekeeping will remove your trash and give you fresh towels.

If that is not soon enough, there are also free washers and dryers at BWV. They are near the workout facility.

I have never personally gotten turn down service at a DVC resort but I have gotten turn down service many times at quite a few different WDW deluxe resorts and the service includes: making up and turning down the bed, refreshing the bath/sink area including supplying fresh towels, closing the drapes & turning on a light in the room and leaving mints or candy and at times also other assorted items on the pillow. It is basically just as the name suggests: turning down or making the room ready for when the guests return to go to bed. It is a very nice extra little added touch of pampering.
I have read of others paying for turn down service at DVC resorts for a nominal fee but I have never done so. To be perfectly honest I meant to inquire about turn down service during my stay last week at BCV but then with getting sick and the very hectic 2 weeks I had at WDW, I forgot all about it. :(

I've only heard about turn down service at the BCV, no others. Probably because the staff don't know they aren't supposed to do it and someone just asked the right way. Turndown service isn't advertised by MS or our literature. I wouldn't count on it.
