I've still got 14lbs to go according to my target, but..... I'm feeling comfortable now. I've got to the size I wanted - US 8-10(UK12) and the losing is pretty imperceptible now. I'll never get smaller on top - there's just ****s and ribs there now. My arms are still a little flabby but they can be toned with exercise not diet. I'll never be satic=sfied with the flabbiness of my tummy, but again exercise should wittle that down over time.
I'm going to stay a low-carber for life anyway so it shouldn't be a problem staying this size. Also I have a feeling my weight is going to go up, from muscle gain. You try climbing 10-11 flights of stairs several times a day, 3 days a week and see if your thighs don't start to enlarge!!!!( I can't be bothered to wait for the lift when I have a lecture to get to)
So what do you reckon - shall I call it a day for the losing and just concentrate on toning???

I say if you are happy with the size your body is, then don't worry about the numbers.
Don't worry about the numbers has become my new philosophy since my recent 40th birthday:( .
Be proud of your accomplishments and move forward to maintenance.
Congratulations!

Why not try to maintain for a few months and then decide if you want to lose any more. Your before and after pics are AMAZING! You must be so proud of yourself!!

Hi. I think if you're happy with your current weight, then just maintain for a while -- you can always go back to trying to lose more. And, congratulations on losing so much already. You must feel wonderful!! :D

We're pretty much in the same place. I have 15 pounds to go. I'm now in a size 10. I'm pretty happy with how I feel right now, but I'm really hoping to lose the last 15.
It's good that I'm happy with this size because I've been maintaining (unwillingly) for 2 months! I'm still trying to lose. I figure with the holiday's coming up, if I try to maintain I'll gain, but if I try to lose maybe I'll maintain. I hope that doesn't sound too crazy.
It sounds like you are planning on keeping up your healthy habits, so if you feel like maintaining- Go for it! You can always start losing again later if you choose to.

Gorgeous Elise-
It sounds like you are where you need to be!
You're looking and feeling marvelous- that's a much better indicator of where you should be than the target you set for yourself many pounds ago.
I agree, calling it a day on the losing and concentrating on the toning sounds like the perfect strategy for you.
I guess this would mean that you're AT GOAL!!!!!!! When's the party?

Congratulations, Elise!!!!! How exciting to get to the place that *feels* right!! As Katholyn always says, it is more about size versus a number on the scale. To me, it sounds like you have hit the maintainence phase and are ready to focus on toning. Way to go!!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

OK - I guess the consensus is that I should maintian - So I'm going to grab that shiny red clippie - Yippee.
And now I'm going to relax and have a huge Pizza........NOT!!!!!!
Tonight I'm actually having a Thai Red Curry with stir fried veg and beansprouts. I actually look forward to beansprouts now - used to really hate them but I think the main thing I miss about carbs is the crunch factor(chips and cookies etc)
And now I'm going to jump and down for a few minutes in celebration!!!

Congratulations on getting that red clippie! The important thing is that you look and feel good. Numbers differ for everyone - it is making yourself happy and healthy that is most important!
Now its on to toning and maintaining!

When I lost 50 pounds before, because of my height and the charts, I set my goal a little too low. When I finally got to goal, I felt, well, sickly. So I allowed myself to gain back a few and I felt great! I think your body has a "setpoint" that it likes hovering at. And I suspect that you may have found it!
Good luck! You'll know and do what's right.
