There is a Delta rocket launch scheduled for when we will be at Vero. Will we be able to see it? Is that anywhere comparable to a shuttle launch? Thanks

I can't help you, but I would like to know how you find out what launches are scheduled for what dates? Thanks

Someone had a link on the Disney cruiseline board. It was a recent post.

I've watched two shuttle launches from OKW, and they were quite visible, so you should be able to see something from VB as well. The Delta uses solid boosters, so there will be a very visible white exhaust trail like the Shuttle's.

They launched a Delta Rocket when I was in Melbourne prior to my trip down to Vero on May 18th. From Melbourne you could see it, but it was primarily a contrail that went from the ground to the sky. I would recommend that you use that opportunity to drive up for the launch and take the tour at Cape Canavaral if you haven't done so. It's about $25 per person, but is very interesting and educational.

If it is going to be a night launch, it might be visible better.

Bring your binoculars because you can get a great view. You will be able to see the con-trail from the rocket and possibly the rocket flames but with the binoculars you can possibly see the rocket at least for the begining of the launch. I have seen a few from the Vero area and if it is clear outside you can get a good view of the launch.
