Just replace them a few months ago but the threads are already looking bare. Also walk about 15-20miles per week.
How often do you replace your sneakers?

Good ones last a lot longer than cheapies. I replace them when they get worn and are no longer comfortable to wear. Like if the soles of my feet or the heel hurt when wearing them.

I was told to replace them when your calves start hurting.

I don't know how true this is as I only have hearsay to support this, but I have been told that runners and power walkers should replace their shoes every 6 months. I was also told that the shoes you use for these activities should only be used for these activities and not for every day wear. Also a better sneaker will last longer. With that said, I usually replace when my feet start hurting and it wasn't until recently that I bought seperate shoes for working out. I stick with New Balance (after being a lifelong Nike wearer) because my podiotrist said they were the best for support.

Every six months is about right, I have also read that you should have two pair and rotate them.

I have been purchasing Ryka (made especially for women). They are wonderful..and they seem to last me almost a year. I just keep my eye on the bottoms and the inside to make sure they are still in good condition and wearing evenly.
