Any hope for cheap flights in January?

We may have to change our trip from April 27, 2002 to January 2, 2002 and my dh is afraid airfaire will be outrageous due to the holidays. Any experience with the first week of January? When should I expect to see discounted rates? Right now I am seeing around $270 from dfw to mco for that week. Any hope?

If your travel begins after the New Year's travelers have mostly returned or right on New Year's Day, I suspect you will be able to do better than $270.

the 2nd of jan is actually a heavy travel day. the 3rd starts to be a lower level of travel for people. and typically the 2nd of jan is also a blackout date as well. but other than that jan has good fares but not until later in the year like nov and dec. possibly middle of oct.

We went to WDW last Jan 2001.We got a fare on Delta,from San Jose,Ca. R/T for 3 of us, $183.00 each($549.00 total). I got this fare through Expedia in July 2000. We are going back in Jan 2002,I will start shopping in earnest,in the beginning of July,daily.:bounce:
