I completed a survey from Disney on line last night. It was about them starting a guided tour company. They asked for opinions on several different itineraries. There was one for London to Paris, Washington to New York, Hawaii, and Yellowstone National Park and that area. The itineraries were well presented with maps and list of hotels. It seemed like everything was top notch, all the hotels were top of the line. I wish I had copied it all down, but they listed hotels like The Plaza in NY and Old Faithful Inn at Yellowstone. They were even asking for opinions on what to call the new company. I have done several of these surveys for Disney and this one definitely had more detailed information than the others. I was wondering if anyone else has done this survey?:D

We discussed this (about a month ago when I took the survey) -the Search function is disabled or I would give you a link to the thread...My main problem with those tours -which sounded great- was the prices....here is a quote from an online escorted tour dealer:

"Did you know that escorted tours save you up to 40% off the price of traveling the same itinerary on your own? That's because tour operators negotiate low group rates on everything from hotels to sightseeing, and pass the savings on.

And that's not all. Escorted tours are worry-free and hassle-free, as all the details are handled for you. They're easy to budget, as so much is included in one price. And local guides with years of experience help you discover more sights than you could possibly find on your own. "

The way Disney was planning to price those tours, I could not see how Disney was possibly passing on any savings whatsoever...on the contrary it seemed like everything was marked up considerably over what I could do on my own--in other words I was paying royally for the convenience and the Disney name.

How did you get picked to do a survey? I would love to do them. Do you sign up for them somewhere?

Did not get the survey, but have gone to Travel School and have been on an escorted tour. In my experience, such tours are ALWAYS more expensive. Remember, you are paying your "escort's" salary in addition to your trip costs.

These are best when you are visiting a country and don't speak the language, know the customs, understand the currency, etc.
