When does the HHN start?

Was just wondering when they normally start HHN every year? My fiancee and I will be down in Orlando the last week of September and I know he would love to go to this, but I don't think it will be up yet. Also how scary is it, because I'm a huge chicken when it comes to stuff like this.

According to the website the first nights are Oct. 5th and 6th. Occassionally they do start the last weekend of Sept. (if I remember correctly) but it doesn't look like that will happen this year.
