If you have dined here could I please have your opinions on food and service? What would be some of your dinner suggestions?Do they have dress code?Is jacket and tie required? Thanks for any information you can give me.:earsboy:  :earsgirl: :sunny:

It is not what it was years ago. Our food was mediocre and the service was poor. The restaurant was empty and we were an afterthought. They may tell you the dress code is resort casual and that means no tank tops or bathing suits.
Shula's is much better imho.

Ate there in May and enjoyed it a lot. DW is a dedicated carnivore and she thought her steak was one of the best she had ever eaten.

We've eaten at the Yachtsman several times and have always enjoyed it.
It's one of the nicer restaurants in WDW but not quite jacket & tie. We've always had great service and the food has always been very good. Try the bourbon steak - YUMM;)

We love YS! We try to go every trip. Our food and service have always been great. I like getting the tomato/mozzarella salad to eat with my steak.
Enjoy your visit!

We too love the Yachtsman. The steaks, veggies, potatoes, were excellent. The desserts were heavenly and the service was outstanding.
When we last went the place was very quiet, so it was very pleasant. There was one other large group, even their kids were so well behaved!!!
I would have liked to go this trip, but our youngest is just 3 and not ready yet for that sort of place. She is very well behaved, but I'd hate to chance it and ruin someone elses night out.

I agree with Mitch on this one. And the quality of the food and service has declined to the point that my opinion is that it's not worth wearing more than a golf shirts and slacks to dine there.

We love the YSH. It is the one place we have been on every visit since it opened. We recommend it to all our friends going to WDW.
We took a Disney newbie there last Jan. and he thought his steak had fallen off the grill in heaven and landed on his plate! We have always had excellent food and service.

Mitch you crack me up!DH & I will definately try Shula's on our next trip:p
I ate at Yachtsmans Steakhouse 2 nights ago and everything was excellent. We have been eating here on a regular basis for years and can honestly say we have never had a bad meal or service and have not noticed any signs of decline in either food or service over the years. There were a lot of families with young children dining there the other night so the noise level was somewhat higher than usual but that is really the only negative we experienced.

I have a PS for next Friday night, which I'm not sure we will be keeping (maybe moving the schedule around). When I made it they said the dress code was no tank tops, no beachwear.

We had our wedding dinner there last year, to this day when we see some of our guests they mention that it was the best steak they had ever had...
