Oh- I forgot ...Jenn Lynn, I need scrapbook lessons/motivation. I bought the Cruise Line scrapbook and intend(key word) to start it soon. Any advice?

Uh oh... be carefull what you wish for. We have an entire room of our house dedicated to scrapbook supplies...

I know you are only 2 hours away, how bout some private lessons....

Whoa, are we still talking about scrapbooking?? :duck:

Tell you what Philly Jen, You and HeadGear Pat make your way to our neck of the woods and we will steam up the shrimp and broil the crab cakes, if Head gear brings suppiles for a lime martini... Didn't get to try one on board but Tom keeps raving about them.

Oh and love the fact that pics of you in a bathing suit must be destoryed, but pics of you flashing your B%$bs at the RCCL Mariner :earseek: are ok. :confused3

Sorry, I missed that!

We are in the process of booking the RCCL Mariner for next spring so I hope they don't have hidden cameras or something that would prevent me from boarding! You know, some kind of Maritime Anti Breast Treaty or something.....

Hi all, just decided to change my "handle"! Actually, since HG Pat decided to FINALLY get in the swing of things, I was logged off and can't for the life of me remember my password. Damn him. Anyway, he will be posting shortly. American Idol is coming so we must get the kids in jammies.

Bowtie, Joe- we are serious about the crab cakes if you were..... I'll bring my...er.... scrapbook:smooth:

Stop being pansies!!! Just kidding, I just love to say pansy!!!

I've been trying to get back into work, I put in a whole 6 hours today. Most of which I spent chatting with Heidi and talking about BS with my co-workers. Fortunatel the boss left early to golf and I just "had" to get out.

I do have some lovely shots of Orient Beach, but I'm not sure I got to Philly Jen's coconuts.

I have made a twist one of the drinkd we had on the Pirate ship, the banana bender, we named it the "Sponge Bob" because it has pineapple juice. mmm tasty... Recipe: 4 parts pineapple juice, 1 part orange juice 2 parts Coconut Rum and 1 part Dark Rum... Guaranteed to put you back on island time!!!!:drinking1 :drinking1

We miss you all!!! The longer I'm away the more good stuff I remember.

Hi All:wave2:

We're also suffering from post disney depression! I head off to work tomorrow. Bill's been back since Monday. We got used to being treated like kings.
It was nice to meet Jason, Travis, Conny & Silke. Sorry about not getting to meet the rest of you.:guilty:
We did get a nice call the night before we left Old Key West. They had upgraded us to a catogory 6 - veranda! SO that was a nice suprise.
Conny, Feel better soon!

Talk to you all later

We're back in Texas. It's 10:30 pm. We had a truly Magical Time and enjoyed meeting all of you. Then we had 4 days at WDW and enjoyed that too (but not as much as the ship). I don't have time to read 4 pages of new posts tonight since I "acquired" a sore throat and stopped up head yesterday and I have to be at work at 8:00 am tomorrow.

Heard from DS that there's a new worm on the net so I may walk into a mess at work. Oh well, at least no one e-mailed me at home so it's probably under control without me.

I'll catch up with everyone tomorrow night.

Reine, Conny, Lisa, Linda .. glad everyone got home safely. Linda, sorry to hear that Robbie is ill. Madalyn developed a fever and pink-eye on Monday afternoon and didn't go to school yesterday or today. She should be able to go to gymnastics tonight (she cried hysterically on Monday night because i didn't let her go and it was the exhibition meet for the pre-team girls ... she kept sobbing "I missed my first meet" it broke my heart!)

So sad to see this thread slowing down and dropping lower on the page ... just 2 weeks ago it was on fire with dozens of new posts each day!

Hey Everyone - slowly returning to reality, boy its no fun. We thought about the CA cruise for next June, but the prices were double what we just paid. I love Disney, but there is no way I will pay over 10,000 to cruise with them.:(

Hey JenLynn - Brenna has pink eye too! She has now missed 3 days of school. She also has an ear infection - so the plane ride home was no fun for her. Hope Madalyn feels better soon and is able to go to gymnastics.

Anyone have any recommendations for other cruise lines - we really want to cruise again next June.

Take care,
Tammy

soccermom, I know we didn't get a chance to meet but Hannah told me that she made 2 friends on the cruise, Brenna and Sarah. It had to be your Brenna since she was in the 5-7 group.

Tammy, We have cruise Royal Carribean a couple of times. We were very pleased with them as well. We have been hearing good things about the Carnival lines as well and have debated trying them next time.

You right Disney Cruises are getting very pricey. There is a RCCL vs. Disney thread going on the main cruise page. Very interesting.

I think Disney has a certain atmosphere behind it, but worth all the extra money??? not sure there. guess that is a personal question... some will say yes and other no.

Philly Jen -- still waiting for a response to my PM from you

2kidsmom

I have checked out the RCCL also. We WERE thinking about doing a cruise out of Galveston on the Rhapsody, but not anymore. At least not with the kids! The main thing that made me come to that decision what their clubs. First of all, most of what I was saw was educational. I am all for education, I am a home-educator and usually look for lessons even in the grocery store, but come on... not for the entire cruise. The second thing was the times the clubs are open ( or should I say not open!) They are closed the entire time you are in port, closed for all meals, and close for the night at 10. Well that pretty much sums up the entire time my kids were in the lab and club on Disney.

I won't (or can't) pay double for the CA cruise, but in MHO, the dollars you spend extra for Disney are worth it to see the excitement on my kids faces and to get rest and relaxation for myself!

That being said, I might go on another 3-5 day cruise line without my kids. But where the kids are concerned, I will save longer and pay more for the satisfaction that they are having a great time than feel I might be wasting my money on something they don't enjoy!

Well, um, actually a pretty nice little Saturday, we're going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time.

MY LIFE IS COMPLETE , Headgear Pat has arrived. I have to give total credit to my lovely but obnoxious wife, who when she found out that My Boy BLUE had braces wanted to know if he wore Headgear.

Patrick I was so afraid that you would go back into your cacoon, but like a butterfly you have fluttered into existance. I can only hope that this is not a one time thing, and the extreme wit that we saw on the boat the last night will be shared with everyone.

I do need some details of the AKA motion sickness on A1A, it had to be something you ate there is no way it was the lime martinis. I have your back on this one, only because that had to be the most awesome martini (Joe you need to try these) that I have ever had made by someone from Syracuse. BTW what is up with just the Orange and not the Orangemen, that can't sit well in your household.

Alright the drumroll please, (beat your hands on the desk) and now from a suburb in Philly Headgear Pats top 10 list:

The Disney Cruise 2004 - Top X things that don’t suck
--as told by yours truly...

Nude sun-bathers at Le Gallion beach in St. Martin.
Where else can you check these out with your wife present?
“Hey look at those..”
“Those are huge...”
“Nice, but it looks like they hurt…”
“I’ve never seen sun screen applied there before…”

But the hour of meaningful conversation my wife (Philly Jen) about these “items on display”, reminded me of why we have coffee table books…to merely stimulate conversation.

Jamaica James and the $80 case of beer…Buckets of beer (buy 5 they give you the sixth one for free). Hey, it was vacation, so we ordered 4 of them for the day. Just so I didn’t feel like I got ripped off, I brought the buckets home…still have found no use for them.

Confirmed Motion Sickness on A1A.
My wife (Philly Jen) claims it was the party flu.
I claim it was motion sickness.
Thanks to Tom (our one man jury), it has been confirmed Motion Sickness coupled with some bad fish. Not a pretty site but a remarkable ending to a wonderful cruises.
It also reminded me that my days as a rock star truly are numbered.

The look on our Room Stewards face when I asked him if the curtain in the room (i.e. the one that separates the adult bed from the kids bunk beds) was sound proof. You would’ve thought I was talking in another language...

Introducing Key Lime Martini’s to new friends (and hopefully to Bowtie Joe and JenLyn)
You might think you can look up the recipe and recreate yourself but there’s always a little magic in those drinks when I make them.…so good going down, you forget how many you’ve had. The informal party the last night. Hmm, party in a stateroom the size of most peoples closets…okay, we can make it work. And it did. Party was great and thanks to everyone who assisted in reducing the number of items I had to declare at customs. I was left standing, with a puzzled look, at the customs agent…”I swear I had more than this to claim…”

Tom/Julie and family, Steve/Laura (the Pango Clan) and our friends from the ‘cuse (that Syracuse to those outside the upstate NY area)…Great drinks, great times, great fun…

New Fad in Doll Clothes.
Somewhat of an inside story, but I thought I would share. Our friends in another cabin from ‘cuse, said they left a bag in our room with her daughter doll clothes in them. My wife emailed her and said, that we accidentally packed it. My wife, being diligent, decided to send it back to her on Monday when we returned home from the cruise. Our friends received the package, but indicated there was a pair of unidentified, white thong panties also in the bag. No, Tom they weren’t my size….Yes, please remind Philly Jen to check the bags before sending…

The Birth of Headgear Pat.
I don’t why my wife does it but every time we are around friends, she tells them I have braces (like I traveling act at the carnival). But this time, it worked out for the better as Julie, asked in her most of serious voices….”Do you wear headgear?” …the rest is history and hence, the birth of Headgear Pat….

More to come...sorry for th typos or stupidity, but it's just me...

---------------You're my Boy Blue---------------------
Marissa: That's really, loud.
Frank: Yeah, thanks. Took the restrictor plate off to give the Red Dragon some juice. But it ain't exactly street legal so keep it on the down low.

How do you expect me to get any work done, when you go and throw out the school girl uniform reference? My concentration level is not at all where it needs to be right now anyway and then to have the uniform and wonder whose white thong panties got sent to Syracuse by PhillyJen, dancing around in my head. There is no way I can work under these conditions, and worse than anything I don't even know what the drink of the day is. JAMES we need another round, JAMES where are you, reality S**ks.

Jason...we're with you on that one! It seems like everytime we turned around they were there...and yes, we grew very tired of them!!!

We did love the "I like orange" line though and used it quite a bit...we crank called Pango & Laura's room and said, in the most seductive of voices, "I like orange" when they answered the phone. Julie the cruise director (aka Kara) sounded a lot like the "I like orange" voice, so everytime she would come on the loudspeaker (which was a lot ), we would all say "this is Julie, your cruise director...today we have Bingo in Studio Sea and by the way I like orange!!!"

Philly Jen--The I like orange thing (yep we made it to 1 adult thing on the whole cruise) was the ventriloquist that was at the welcome aboard variety show did an Adults only show in Rockin Bar D one night. She got 3 people out of the audience 1 of which was this blonde haired girl and before she brought her up on stage she asked if they had any nicknames for each other. She said G and she was really embarrased. The ventriloquist brought her up on stage and coerced what the G stood for which we found out through a lot of "school girl giggling" (like that reference!) that it stood for G Spot. It was pretty funny (at the time but I was pretty loaded on Gin this night) and then the ventriloquist started doing her ventriloquist bit and when she would tap 1 of the 3 of the shoulder they were supposed to open their mouths and pretend to be talking. She asked the first guy what his favorite color was and he replied something and then she asked this girl and in a very seductive voice the ventriloquist announed "I like Orange" and it went on a few times after that. I think it would only make sense if I didn't try to explain it on this board but could explain it in person!!!

And hey did someone say VEGAS?????

Last week at this time I was getting ready to make the mad dash at Castaway Cay for the Hammock. BTW, my father in law ended up taking a nap in pretty much the remainder of the morning, but what a great place that we were all at last week at this time.

Joe, I don't mean to get you back into your funk, but could we at least wait until next week before we are O.K. with being back in the real world. Also if what PhillyJen sent to Syracuse didn't belong to JenLynn because they were white, does that mean that JenLynn wears an Orange one under that school girl outfit?

JenLynn, I am still laughing every time I look back at your post that says "I like Orange!!" I am starting to think that Joe is the Lucky one, but don't tell him we have string him along a while longer.

PhillyJen, Vegas would rock, I think Headgear at Red Square would be a perfect fit. The pictures are awesome, even though I thought I saw one of Pat with B**Bs, you have to watch what you put on the internet. Are we ever going to see the remainder of Headgear Pat's top 10 list of things that don't suck?

Jason, I am actually sad for G and her husband, I just don't think that it is fair. For someone to use up their whole 15 minutes on one cruise just doesn't seem to be right. BTW, I know you have to be excited to go on your back to back cruises coming up, but when you post to those other threads and not on ours It Hurts, It Hurts really bad. Remember we were the first and you never forget your first.

Travis, hey I am glad you were able to get some computer time, and thanks for helping me out with the A1A reference.

Heidi, Vegas, over labor day this year we are planning on going, right now we are booked at the Monte Carlo, but hoping that better rates come out for Mandalay Bay so that we may stay there. Much and Many more details to come. Monkeyboy are you still alive?

Pango, all I can say is that one week ago today we were sitting in chairs in the ocean at Castaway Cay with drinks in our hand. THAT DIDN'T SUCK.

Tom Tom Tom... Ok your right we'll put our recovery off till next week. Your right at this time last week I beleive we were walking along the pathway to the beach, snapping many pictures along the way!

In about an hour, Kadir will have delivered our cooler of Miller Lite! Ice cold miller lite delivered on Castaway Cay in your very own cooler... Now That doesn't suck!!!

And I'll leave to your imagination what JenLynn likes to wear under the outfit. :smooth:

Jason say it's not so!!!! :faint: You have forgot us already!!! :sad1: :sad2:  Already looking forward to your next visit less then a week after we said good bye. Where's the love???

Ahhh well... At least the weather here has been nice... JenLynn actually got a little sunburned from laying out in our back yard yesterday. I tell you stay at home moms have the life. :duck:

Julie--we laughed so hard at the "family show" of the ventrioloquist. Miles who is SO into potty humor right now thought that the whole "he's gonna kick my butt isn't he?" I think Miles laughed for 20 min. The baby thing was also hilarious!!

Joe--We got railroaded into bringing our Spongebob (our "official" ******* name for the drink) to a company barbeque tomorrow! At least I'll know someone (spongebob) there right??? I plan on drinking them ALL so no one else gets any!!!! The ONLY way to get out of post trip depression is to plan another one! We already have several in the "thinking about" stage so it has helped ease the transition back to cooking and cleaning much better than doing nothing! I've already scoped out airfare and rates and dates to Cancun Club Med along with rates and dates to the Mex. Riviera on either RCCL or Carnival. It does help pass the blues away a little bit!!

Tom--Vegas over labor day huh???hmmmmm.....It might work for us! We are going to be down there around the 23rd or 24th of August since my bra thief is singing again AND it is our Anniversary AND my birthday....don't know if we can swing it til labor day and he is done singing I think the 24th or 25th of August but we'll have to keep thinking up a plan...maybe we'll have to go down twice in 2 weeks???:teeth: :teeth:

Sorry to hear all of you are NOW getting hit with illness as we know how bad it sucks! EWWW Pink eye yuck!! I hate that crap!! Tanner has yet ANOTHER cold but I blame that on the weather! Monday it was 87 here and tuesday it was 40 with some snow not too far from our house. Oh well at least I can get a 3 dollar bottle of cold and cough instead of a 10 dollar one!!! I'm hoping to get a little sunburned this weekend or else I'm gonna have to go to the tanning salon to keep this bronzed look.

Off to finally clean my house and boy does it need it!

We have your "information" so we'll have to get together and figure this out. If anyone else is interested in doing a NON disney cruise with us to the Mex Riviera (or hell we'd go just about anywhere for a cruise) let us know! The more the merrier!!! I got prices on the Eastern RCCL Mariner for next spring, they were not at inexpensive as I thought. About 3500 for the whole family in a balcony cabin. Once you go balcony, you can never go back. We checked for Easter week and it was like $5500.00. Yikes. My friend Patty(some of you met) is the cruise agent and she mentioned that the travel trend is changing again and so the rates are going to start to climb.

hydster
05-14-2004, 02:35 PM
That price is one of the biggest reasons our kids will stay HOME until they get older. Disneyland and 6 flags will be their vacation and they love it there and we love the cost. We can do a 7 day Mex Riviera cruise for just Ryan and I for 2000.00 in a balcony cabin including port charges and tax. RCCL is always a little higher in price. I would NEVER EVER consider doing a Norwegian but that's because we had an awful experience with them. I think we will probably stick to Carnival just because it fits us. It is a fun ship and while the stigma was that they were all drunk all the time (I don't help add to the stigma do I?) it has become much better all around.

jrydberg
05-14-2004, 02:41 PM
I looked into RCCL for next year and while it is cheaper, it's still not exactly what I'd call a bargain. I dunno... maybe I'll just do some Club Med thing next year. Unless, of course, I hit the lottery and then I'll do a suite tour of cruise ships ;)

DisneyJam
05-14-2004, 02:49 PM
Wow! $3500 and i am guessing there is no air fare include on that price correct??

I knew there was a reason I don't do this all the time!

Hmmm, may have to stick to camping.

hydster
05-14-2004, 03:02 PM
Philly Jen--I just looked at the online TA I always use (except for DCL cruises) and it shows going on Royal Caribbean with 2 adults and 2 kids on the Splendour of the Seas sailing in a balcony cabin including port charge and tax is $4470.00 which is almost $1000.00 less than you got for the week of Easter. This one would leave on Saturday March 26 and I think Easter in 2005 is the 27th? It leaves from Tampa and goes to George Town, Costa Maya, Belize and Cozumel.

I think some of the reason that RCCL is so much more pricey when you want a balcony cabin is that they don't seem to have as many rooms that have balconies (if I remember right anyway). Their newer ships might have more rooms with balconies but I Know some of their older ships don't.

Heidi

jrydberg
05-14-2004, 03:22 PM
Joe -- You could probably get a campground manager to bring you a bucket of Miller Lites for cheaper than DCL. Just sway back and forth a bit (shouldn't be a problem after a few beers) and get dressed up for cooking hot dogs on the hibachi. I'm sure some local kids will be happy to provide the "kid ambience" at no charge. Tell the kids that the bushes near the camper are shaped like Goofy, Mickey, Cinderella, etc. They're young, maybe they'll buy it!

Just like a Disney Cruise! Have enough drinks and it'll all make sense to you. Trust me.

Tom,
As far as Vegas goes, I gladly introduced myself to Red Square last year. I think I had 3 or 4 martini's..I can't remember though. But what I do remember is , you cannot swim in the fountains at the Bellagio ...(a man disguised as a police officer explained this)

The Metzler's(that's the Philly Jen and Headgear Pat clan)
ARE cruising next year. We just can't afford Disney at $5500 plus the $3000 in clothes we bought just to get there. Plus the $1200.00 "tip" we gave the ship!!!! Julie, your husband mentioned that you actually spent more than that. ARghhhhh.. He didn't factor in my L&T and Talbots charge purchases! Can't wait to get the bill. I hate the Western Itinerary, done it twice! I would do the Eastern every time bc the beaches are so beautiful and calm(no little jellyfish in your bathingsuit when you are done.) Anyway, I am going to keep on Patty about the rates. She thinks they will go down again for RCCL before they go up. As for Carnival, I hate to say this(ok no I don't), the cruise line is too "I am a recent graduate and I need something to do with my $$ cruise" for me. Once you've done Celebrity, you can never go back. I am a food and wine snob(not embarassed) and need something more......Did I just lose all my friends?..... I usually don't bc they knew I was like this the second they met me.... Patty and Mike actually categorize things as "a Jenn and Pat" type home, or a "Jenn and Pat" type restaurant...... NOt embarassed at all, Just have good taste!:D

Anyway, We decided based on the price that we would go during the "cheapest" week we could get and just take Hannah out of school again. I truly believe that a family vacation out of Philadelphia is better than a week in 1st grade! So at that point, we have Some time in early April at $3000.00 for a verandah cabin. And if all I have to do is maintain my weight, I can afford that with just the savings on clothes alone!

Anyone in? Patty will get us all great deals....

We would love to cruise with you all again in April, but JenLynn is planning a return to teaching this fall, and while it is easy to pull the kids out of school, it's not quite so easy to do with the teacher.

Hmmm... come to think about it, teaching will probabaly interfere with Vegas as well. I'm thinking maybe we should try to convince JenLynn to wait one more year before she returns to teaching. pirate:

Anywho----We probably won't be in Vegas over Labor day because I want to see "my man" and his last show is on the 24th of August so we will probably go the weekend of the 12th, 13th, 14th of August..SO if you are interested and school isnt in..feel free!

Also we were planning on doing the Mex Riviera cruise when the kids are done with school since it's easier on us to get a babysitter so if you are interested in that feel free as well!

At least you guys have had enough energy to post. I got the crud in the head otherwise known as an upper respiratory infection with a wicked cough that the Dr today said has turned into bronchitis so I've felt miserable the last three days and haven't even felt like READING the thread much less posting. Anyway the meds the DR gave me seem to be working and I'm feeling better.

Heidi, I agree that it's better to be sick at home but I was also trying to work. It's kind of interesting to do conference calls when you can't speak above a whisper! Took cough medicine tonight expecting the codine to put me to sleep and it seems to be keeping me awake. I guess I'll crash in a minute.

Maybe tomorrow I'll get a chance to read everyone's trip reports and get together one of my own. It will have to be from memory since I'm not as organized as Heidi and didn't take notes. Right now my brain is fried so will work on the report when it becomes functional again.

I'm wondering if illness is a sign of Post Cruise depression.

Sounds like we missed out by not hitting the clubs after our late seating at dinner. I did go to the Hot Tub with Robyn several nights probably while you guys were in the clubs. Especially on Saturday night after our short sleep night on Friday it was really relaxing and helped get the old muscles ready for bed.

I think I'm beat for tonight and am going to try to get to bed. Check you guys later.

I have the bushwacker recipe incase anyone needs it. My mom found it on barmeister.com. It looks like the ingredients are right on the money.

1 oz. Light Rum
1 oz. Dark Rum
2 oz. Kahlua
2 oz. Cream De Cocoa
1 oz. Coco Lopez
2 oz. Bailey's Irish Cream
1 oz. Amaretto
2 cups ice
1 dash nutmeg
1 scoop whipped cream

Combine all liquids in a blender, add ice and blend until smooth. Top with whipped cream and nutmeg.

It actually says that this recipe is from St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands, so it must be the real thing. Enjoy!!!!!!!

:drinking1 :drinking1

We didn't get a chance to make them last night, but maybe tonights the night! Also bought the ingredients for a "Spongebob". We want to try the Key Lime Martinis, but without Headgear Pat here to work his magic with the martini shaker I'm afraid that they just won't taste the same. We don't want Key Lime Martini let-down, if you know what I mean!!!

Brrrrr...it's cold here today. After spending the whole week in shorts (which was nice after returning from a tropical vacation) it's only 40 degrees here this morning. Yuck! Tom and Pango just left to play golf (it's 7:30 am)...Laura is sitting in the Detroit airport waiting for a flight to Lansing. She took the red-eye from her convention in Las Vegas last night. I have to take the girls to a soccer game this morning (Lindsey & Pango's Madelyn). Oh yeah, and I Sarah, Abby and I all got the croupy cough that Heidi has been talking about. Yuck!!! Life is better in the Caribbean!!!

Well Joe used the recipe Julie found for Bushwackers last night and made us 2 rounds. The first round was good; it reminded me a bit of a white russian. The second round was terrific! Joe added strawberries and bananas and let it blend a bit longer .... whewww.... that was good stuff! :drinking1

But i must say the highlight of the evening was when Joe answered the phone and paused and repeated to the person on the phone "What am i wearing?" :confused3 He answered "a tank top and shorts" and then i heard a voice on the other end say "No bow tie?" LOL ..... It was Tom!!!!! Too funny, but of course that just brought us deeper into PDCD. And then a little bit later (after my first bushwaker, feeling pretty good at this point ...) the phone rang again and it was Heidi! And she was in the same state of happiness that i was in!

So the bottom line is ...
We miss you guys! :grouphug:

Conny and Reine, every time i read a post or trip report it seems that i have something i want to add to my "To Do on the Next Cruise" list. Reine, in fact, the first thing that was on my list was "lounge in the hottub late at night"! Oh well, guess that means we need to go on another cruise!

Conny, I am so sorry that you need surgery, but i hope it fixes everything for you. We wil be thinking about you.

OH, and if anyone is interested ....
Happy Birthday to me!!!! (i have to wish myself a happy birthday since Joe and the kids decided that singing to me on the cruise was my single allocated "Happy birthday")

Enjoy your weekend!! (at least those horrible people who were occupying our cabins are now disembarking too!)

Hi gang! Wow the Bushwackers sound great! Actually, while I was at Paradise Point, I asked the bartender what the recipe was that they used. It is all of those ingedients, but equal parts of each. That should be easy enough to remember. The strawberries and bananas sound wonderful.

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday dear JenLyn, Happy Birthday to you!!!!!

I was lucky enough to hear Tom's voice last night on the phone as well..,...Made my day! He was probably wondering if the white panties were indeed mine and since I am not a huge fan of orange....I fessed up to it. He also told me that Julie watched the whole panty in the doll clothes bag happen but didn't say anything.....I just hope to God they were clean. Didn't bother to ask my friend if they were or weren't cause I hope she didn't study them that close!

Anyway, it does suck for the Magic folks who are getting off right now as we speak. And tough to believe that it was about a week ago today that my dear hubby Christened a small stretch of A1A(highway along the ocean)......

Naked Katie thinks she is going to wear her birthday suit to Grandmas so I need to go put a stop to that. Grandma is kind of a stickler in that she prefers her grandchildren to be fully clothed when they come visit! Wish us luck, we are off to Atlantic City for the night. I will donate my $20.00 and call it a day!

I hope everyone who has the yuckies feels better. Too pretty of a day to be sick.

Miss you all and Happy Birthday Jen

Ok JenL and I are not quite over our vacation yet. After hearing from Tom, Pango, Heidi and Ryan, we were in full cruise mode again. We spent the day out side in our deck chairs in the warm sun. While the kids played around in our back yard. We had to run our own drinks, but it's all good!!

Well one day we will catch up with the house work, but for today at least it almost felt like vacation again. All we needed were some crazies yelling JenLynn or BowTie Joe. pirate:

As Jen said the Bushwackers, came out great, but we have nothing to compare it to. So guess we are going to have to make another run to St. Thomas to figure that out! :sunny: I used a little bit more Coco Lopez then the recipe calls for, to sweeten it a little more, but other then that followed the recipe

We are back to the harsh light of reality after a week at WDW following the cruise. Unfortunately Justin was sick for a good portion of the time but we were able to fit in the MK and Epcot so the poor kid didn't have to come home feeling like he'd missed it all.

I miss you guys!!:wave2: It was so great to meet everybody live and in person! I'm going to be uploading the pix soon to my epson site and I'll post the link here. Hi All,

Thanks for the good wishes. I'm feeling better thanks to good meds. The Dr said I got bronchitis from an upper respiratory infection so she gave me an antibiotic which made an almost immediate difference in how I felt. Started with the sore throat on Monday at WDW and went downhill from there. Then trying to work Wed and Thurs didn't help. Went to the Dr on Friday and came home and crashed. Still coughing but over the worst of it. Amazing what a couple of days rest will do. Felt well enough to go to church and Sunday School this morning but came home and cratered again. Then had the tickly cough so couldn't sleep. I figured the codine cough syrup would knock me out but I must be immune to it or something.

I would blame it on something we caught on the cruise but DH had the raw throat a day or so before we left then it cleared up. He had a stopped up head on the ship and started coughing but DD and I blamed it on his smoking. We just dosed him with meds and let him take a nap each afternoon which is what he wanted to do anyway. Wished we'd had a verandah but inside cabins are GREAT for afternoon naps! I really think I had a reaction to all the different pollen and the allergies just kept going into something worse. Whatever, we didn't let it spoil our cruise.

FYI, I've started to post trip reports but it seems that I'm really wordy so it may take a while.

Conny, hope the surgery goes well. I'll put your name on the prayer list in our Sunday School class. Never hurts to have extra prayers. Are you having arthroscopic surgery or is it more extensive than they can do that way? Keep us informed.

Robyn laid our in the back yard today and complained that it was too hot since there wasn't any breeze from the ship moving! She is also complaining that her bed doesn't rock her to sleep. She hasn't even been home a week and already she's looking forward to returning. I guess that means she loves her job.

Also for Heidi and all the rest who battled sea sickness, she said it was actually one of the CALMER Eastern sailings. We didn't have much of a probem but if that was calm, I don't want to be on the ship on a rough day!.:crazy2:

OK, now I'm going to try to go back to bed and see if I can get to sleep. I'm gonna miss the ZZZs tomorrow at work.

Welcome home Amber!! I didn't realize you were going to WDW after the cruise ... probably better that way or else last week would have been even harder to take! Sorry to hear that Justin was sick ... both of mine were sick last week (they took turns). I think we are all better here .... at least hoping so! Did you stay on-site in WDW? Where? (nosy little thing, aren't I?) :hyper2:

It was great meeting you in-person! A group pic at our meet would have been a very good idea ... oh well, guess that means we will have to go on another cruise all together to get a pic!

Goodness Reine, if that was calm i can't even imagine what a normal day looks like!

Oh well ... another week back to reality! I spent most of the weekend laying out in the backyard while Joe brought me yummy frozen drinks in my DCL glass topped with whipped cream. :drinking1

And Conny, I had the same question when i read the recipe (what in the world is coco lopez?). I did an internet search (that is my answer to everything!) and they have a website:
http://www.cocolopez.com/
It is cream of coconut. Joe found it here in the liquor store, but it is also in the grocery stores around here. If you can't find it there, i am not sure what you should substitute with .. but i am sure one of our resident bartenders will have a good suggestion for you! :)

Hi All,
Just finally checking back in.

We seemed to have brought back the Caribbean weather to VT:sunny: and it has been way to nice to stay inside on the computer.

Just want to say welcome back everyone and it was great meeting you. Travis & Jason it was a lot of fun being with you guys on the Eco-Hike and up on Paridise Point. got a lot of pictures and will be e-mailing you some.

Question, I just loved the Bushwacker drink at Paridise Point, I almost bought the kit to bring home but didn't (I keep kicking myself for this) now does anyone have or know the recipe for it! Please Please post it, I have been raving about it to everyone and they want me to fix them one. (Of course I could just book another cruise and go back Huh!!!)

I have been writing my trip report but have been posting it at the PassPorter site first hope to get back here soon.

Oh, Renee thanks so much for giving me the tour of the kids club the parents are just estactic over the video and I think there will be lots of booking going on. Say Hi to Robin and thank her too.

Please Please post it, I have been raving about it to everyone and they want me to fix them one. (Of course I could just book another cruise and go back Huh!!!)

Here it is:

1 oz. light rum
1 oz. dark rum
2 oz. kahlua
2 oz. cream de cocoa
1 oz. coco lopez
2 oz. Bailey's Irish Cream
1 oz. amaretto
nutmeg
whipped cream

Combine all liquids in a blender; add ice and blend until smooth. Top with whipped cream and nutmeg.

JenLynn and Bowtie Joe made them this past weekend and said they were delicious. They also made a batch with strawberries and bananas.

Enjoy!!!

I don´t think we have Coco Lopez here, waht is that exactly and what shall I use instead.Need help from the mixing guys!!!!

Coco Lopez is just cream of coconut. There are several different brands, but coco lopez boasts it self as the best. I would think you should be able to find some kind of coconut mixer in your liquor store or grocery store as it is very popular for mixed drinks.

Here's the REAL recipe for the Banana Bender/Painkiller...we made the spongebob because we didn't have banana rum only coconut rum, Dark Rum , PINEAPPLE juice and Orange Juice

This is from the people who ran the excursion in St. Thomas

Banana Bender/Painkiller

The base juice is 4 parts pineapple juice, 1 part orange juice and one part CoCo Lopez.

Now if you want a painkiller, mix with this juice a good dark rum. If you want a banana bender, then mix this juice with Cruzan banana rum.

Don't forget the fresh grated nutmeg on the top.

Conny I hope your knee surgery goes well. I wish you could spend your recovery time on Castaway Cay! Logan's mom sent me some pix of us in the atrium, I'll have to upload them to my Epson site.

JenLynn, Happy belated B-day! We stayed at CBR and were less than thrilled, given the amount of time we spent in the room while Justin was sick. It was a pain walking all over that place and buying over priced tylenol. Luckily we stayed at the parks long enough that Justin got in a few good days at Epcot and MK but really we feel like we need to go back already!!

Heidi, I am totally down for kidless trip-- I'll actually be in your neck of the woods sometime in the next couple of weeks to visit the U!

Jason and Travis, thanks so much for organizing the meet and all of your hard work. I'm so excited that you guys are doing the repositioning cruise!!

I have uploaded some photos to my epson site, here's the link.

I'll be adding more as quickly as possible (it seems to take forever for the site to post them for some reason-- it used to be really fast).

Great pictures Amber!! I especially loved the ones of Justin singing in the Promenade Lounge!

Thanks for the birthday wishes, and i am so sorry Justin was sick while you were in WDW. We stayed at CBR for our honeymoon and although we liked the themeing, it was quite sprawling.

Amber--UGH sorry to hear you got the joy of buying over priced Tylenol as well! Between Bandaids for Tanner's blisters, Tylenol Cold and Cough, Nyquil for Kaylee, Ibuprofen when we ran out and some throat drops we figured out we spent about 45-50 dollars just on drugs! UGH I'm so sorry you had to deal with that! We are planning I THINK to hit Disneyland right after Labor day this year (if not this year then next year for sure)with the kids when it's almost completely empty and we can ride a ton of rides in 2-3 days. We actually prefer Disneyland because it's smaller, not as expensive, you dont HAVE to stay on site there and you can go off property and eat a "decent" less pricey meal at a Tony Romas rather than Disney crappy theme park overpriced food!:teeth:

Cool you are coming here...we should see if there is a time we could meet up and go to dinner. Is this the whole family or just you???? It would be cool to meet up with you sometime!

Well off to get one of my last 4 days of peace and quiet in while Tanner goes to preschool!!

Hi guys.

I got some cocossirupstuff that worked fine with the mixing.haven´t tried the Bushwacker yet,but the banana painkiller. It turned out great, thanks for the recipes and the tips.

I officially chickened out of the surgery, lots of people adviced me to take it slow and just wait and see.If it won´t work I can still do it later,no difference in the outcome. The knee will always stay a little weak,so why go through extra pain?I´m such a coward.

Take care
Conny

Joe, I drove them all away, far far away!! Sigh...It's just not the same here anymore!

Conny, I think the wait and see approach is smart. I have seen things improve on their own over time when they weren't supposed to. You're not a chicken, just cautious!

Heidi, we are trying to decide if it will be just me this time or the whole gang. I am probably looking at the first week of June, and I would love to get together! Show me the hotspots of SLC (are there any??;) ). Disneyland will be fun, not so hectic and pretty quiet during the weekdays, sounds like you guys will have a great time. Plus, the Indy ride is totally worth it! There is a restaurant on Harbor Blvd. called Love's that you might try, awesome BBQ, we eat at the one in San Diego every time we're in town.

JenLynn, we thought CBR would have been fun had Justin been feeling better. It was fun to carry the Caribbean theme out just a little longer before we had to return to the barren desert! We may try it again next time. Must have been a fun honeymoon! We went to Vegas for ours and stayed at the Luxor for a week, it was pretty fun but we were sick then too! Must be a family trait that someone has to get sick on all vacations (come to think of it I had toncillitis in London, too!).

Everybody have a great day!:sunny:

Hey Amber.... have you started your cruise scrapbook yet??? I did seven pages in mine over the weekend, and am not even up to the point where we walked in the terminal, lol. It is going to be ONE THICK BOOK!!!!

I am pretty pleased about how my "title page" turned out... let me know if you want to hear about it!!

Conny, probably a good idea to wait a while on the surgery. You can always change your mind if you don't start getting better. Always better to err on the side of the conservative when it comes to cutting!!!

Keeping in mind that there are no photos on this page, so I wasn't quite as concerned with archival technique, I took one of the smaller sized plastic shopping bags from Mickey's Mates (with the Disney Cruise Line logo on the side of the bag, the logo is about 10 inches wide) and adhered it with a glue stick to white cardstock, being careful to get all the airbubbles smoothed out, and then trimmed carefully around the outline of the logo. This gave a "stiffness" to the logo, almost making it look like a decal. Then I mounted that on black cardstock, and used a Magic Matter to trace and cut a 1/8 inch mat. Then I put that in the middle of a 12x12 page, and in alphabet letters I put, kind of curving around the logo on the top, "our 2004" and around the bottom "vacation" and the words from the logo, Disney Cruise Line are right in the middle. Then across the top, I blocked a small strip with squares of black, yellow and red cardstock, with a sticker that reads something like "trip of a lifetime" or "vacation to remember" lol - the layout is at home and I can't remember exactly what that darn sticker says right now. Anyway, I did it at a crop that I was at over the weekend, and everyone really oohed and ahhed over it. I don't have a clue how to post a picture, but I could e-mail you a digital picture of it if you want.

Philly Jen and Headgear in the house! We have been busy working and trying to get the house cleaned. Wow- our suitcases were totally still packed as of last friday night. Then, because my mom was coming to take care of the girls on Saturday, I had to quick pick up! Anway I have a new drink but I don' tknow the exact measurements.... We went to Atlantic City saturday night(won $100.00 which is good for me since I would have spent all my winnings). Headgear is my rock, he made me cash out after each win and gave me back my 5$. Then on Sunday am he gave me all my $$ back. He knew I would spend it all.

Anyway, the drink was the Mojito with a twist. A Strawberry Vanilla Mojito. When the bartender crushed up the mint leaves, he also crushed up fresh strawberries. Then Vanilla Rum(Cruzan), Sprite and a Sugar Cane Stick! Oh My God was it good.....After 2(and for those of you who thought the drinks on the cruise were expensive.....$9.00 each) I was feeling good. I was actually feeling good before even discovering them...

Joe-our College Alma Mater won in Lacrosse today so if they win 1 more game, they will be going to Baltimore(and probably so will we).

Finally, I have a job for all of you. Since you are not close to me (physically), and you are all a very diverse group....I would like to use you as my sounding board. This might sound crazy but I have been thinking about starting a business . Over the next few months I will want to run a few things by an unbiased crowd, ie the name, etc... Anyone interested? Perhaps you could be my marketing team on the streets......He he heheehe/. Anyway, Joe, I am going to create and sell bow tie shaped men's thong bathingsuits.....

Just kidding, not ready to divulge the product but anyway, I'd appreaciate the unbiased opinions.

Hey guys, I'm still here and reading. Just been horribly busy and haven't done much posting. Have also been attempting to get my trip reports done. Maybe by June 30 I'll have all of them done.

Glad to see folks are still around. It was so fun seeing everyone on the ship and running into familiar faces during the cruise.

Brenda saved my hide...literally... by having some sunscreen I could use on the boat back from St John. I wanted to sit on the top and if she hadn't sat in front of me and had sunscreen with her, I would have been a total lobster before we got back to the ship. And I mean a HURTING lobster. Would have really messed up the rest of the cruise and made Castaway Cay painful. Her sunscreen saved the day.

I feel old today. It was bad enough that I had a birthday on the trip but today my firstborn was 28!!! Somehow it seems impossible that he could be that old. DD will be 25 in 4 more weeks. Hey folks, enjoy those kids while they're little. They grow up too fast.

I spoke to Tom over the weekend and he said he still reads, but still has not posted.

Guess I will have to call MonkeyBoy and Hydster to see what happen to them. And PhillyJen and Headgear have disappeared as well.

I see Jason busy posting on the Sept 4th cruise thread :(

They have forgotten who they are. (May 1st cruisers) And thus forgotten us.

Guess we all have to go on another cruise to get a thread jumping again! :bounce:

Conny--

I hope your knee heals fast. It's too bad that it was injured on the cruise. But, I'm glad to hear you talking about a future cruise with Disney. Even if it is a few years off I'm glad to hear it! :) Tell Silke that we both say hi. We're anxiously awaiting the release of the extended version of ROTK as I'm sure she is as well!!! I’m SOOO excited to hear that your friends will be sailing with us in August! We will most definitely have to meet them at some point. Are they on the Dis Boards at all? If so, make sure that they stop by the Disney Magic August 28th Cruise thread to say hi.

Bow Tie Joe--

We were at Disney on Saturday and looked for your crokies. I think we found them! We took a pic that I'll post soon just to make sure they're the right ones.

We are here as well....life just turned busy and hectic since coming home and I haven't had near the same amount of time on the computer as I did before (I can't imagine how that happened) but McKaylee got sick AGAIN so I've had her home for 3 days and just being busy keeping up with family birthday's, Ryan's work schedule *he actually has had to work lately*, boy scout stuff with Miles and a million other things I haven't been around much! I have cut out the Gin during the week as well so I don't have the buzz anymore like I had before we left as it is WAAAYYY to fattening! I've gained more weight in the last 3 months than I've ever had on my body before except for being pregnant! Hitting the treadmill, the total gym, yoga and no booze until the weekends (damn near killed us last night) so it isn't as rowdy around here anymore!

I'm sure we'll be here most of the weekend since it's supposed to S~N~O~W here on Saturday. What the hell kind of a long weekend is that if it snows???? It's a balmy 45 degrees here today and supposed to stay in the mid 50's until maybe next Tue or Wed. We are going to take the kids to see Shrek II this weekend and Ryans' dad has his birthday that we have to go to. Other than that I think we are going to just rent movies and hang!

Sorry to not have posted much lately...it just seems things have gone from extreme high of planning to extreme low of real life!!!

Conny--hope the knee feels better soon! My knees hurt from the treadmill so I can't imagine how you must feel!

Well I'm off to enjoy my last day of FREEDOM before the kids are home for the summer!!

Jeff,

Great pictures. Glad you at least put one in of both of you to verify that BOTH of you went on the cruise.

I understand the withdrawal. Paul and I are already discussing when we want to go again. I think next time we're going to be selfish and do a couple only cruise...maybe while Robyn's working on the ship so we can see her occasionally but have most of our time to ourselves.

The one who's having SERIOUS withdrawal is Robyn. She's counting the days till she goes back "home". In her mind she lives on the Magic and visits Dallas/Plano on vacation. :sad1: for me. But :cheer2: for her. I really am glad she's found something she really loves to do.

Ahhh.. slowly but surely it gets a little easier. We still miss everyone and the ship, but we are adjusting to normal life once again. JenLynn is begining to plan our WDW vacation for next summer, and i continue the debate on weather or not to become a DVC member. Oh and there is all that computer stuff that I do. :badpc:

Nice pics Jason!!! I take it by the looks of it you guys had Marc as your server?? Or is that Anne Marie's table?? Either way they are both great. We had Marc as our server for brunch and were very impressed with him, so we requested he be our server for dinner as well.

Reine-- funny you were right behind this rowdy crew... In the bach ground of one of our pics is Miss Saturday97 herself, Amber and her husband.

Nice Pictures jason. It´s funny how similar my picture looksfrom our last breakfast.Less than 2 month and your on board again.I´m a little green with envy,I just tried the cruiseline website for a qoute of the 2 week back to Florida cruise next year,it started with almost 3900$ for one +Flighttickets.I´m afraid thats impossible, also the itinerary sounds amazing.
I´m glad to report the leg is getting better and I started slowly with working.

Conny,

I definitely think you two should go on the Panama Canal cruise with us. It would be so much fund to have you guys on with us again.

As for the job, it was a good choice, but a lot more work!! :hyper: I think once I learn how everything works there, I will be fine, but there has been a lot to learn so far. How are you doing, and how is your knee? Not much new here, just work. Take care, tell Silke I said "hello."

Hi Travis.

Good to hear you made the right choice about the job.Adjusting is never easy but it will be good soon.

You know,I would love to go,but Silke allready has a trip with her Lord of the Ring gang planned. They rented a cottage near Edinburgh in February. No idea why then and there. It will be sooooo cold, but hey, thats their problem.I bet they need tons of Whiskey. There is no way I could afford to go all by myself.I guess I keep playing the lottery and hope for the best.So if I show up at the Terminal ,it means I won.(I can dream, can I??!!??)

My knee is getting better,I´m ordered to use the crutches for another month(which I only do from time to time) and it will take another 2 or 3 month to completly heal, but thats fine.At least almost all the pain is gone.

Thats it for know.
Take care and we still miss everybody.

Hi friends, I'm sad (for me) because Robyn goes "home" to the Magic tomorrow. I've really enjoyed having her home but she is a grown woman with her own life now.

Anyhow, she's really excited and ready to get back. Even though it's work, she will spend the next 4 MONTHS on the Magic. How bad can that be.

Jason and Travis, you'll have to go by the Club and say hi when you're on the ship.

Conny,

It is definitely difficult adjusting. I didn't realize how hard it would be, until now. I was very used to working for the same company for the last 9 years.

I'm glad your knee is getting better. I'm just glad it's FRIDAY! I'm SO ready for the weekend....

For most crew "not working + in Port = off the ship". Robyn usually goes to the Mall or WalMart on Saturday mornings to get supplies or shop or grab a non ship meal. The crew food is good (not gourmet like guests) but repetitious.

Probably easiest to just stop by the Oceaneer's Club sometime and see if she's there. FYI, ask for Robyn(USA) since there's a Robyn from Australia. Not first or last nights since they're really busy those nights. If you haven't ever toured the Club, ask her to show you around if she's not busy. It's really cool.

When she's off duty, she sometimes goes to the Cove Cafe or lays out at the Adult pool on Port days so you may run into her.

Joe---Yep we are still around although someone forgot to tell us that we got transferred one night from Utah to the throws of HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's so hot here it's disgusting! Of course like they always say in Vegas during the Summer...YEAH BUT IT"S A DRY HEAT! Yeah like that makes it much better!! Things are well! We are going to Denver in a few weeks (though we decided NOT to drive it) so we are flying out Sunday morning and flying home Sunday night! LOL Can't stand the family for much longer than that! Trying to figure out if Tom Jones is really going to be in Vegas in October so we can go..it's just too deathly hot in August/September down there.

Planning our trip to Cancun in February HOPEFULLY and except for that..nothing else! We've been shoveling 12 tons of gravel around in our front yard (went for xeriscaping this year in drought laden hell err..Utah) so we are stiff and sore!

Glad you asked arent ya???? Cool your friends are going...normally I'd be jealous but I'm not! I think we've sworn off cruising for awhile yet!

Hello,

I'm still out there but haven't posted to the old cruise thread. For anyone who's interested by DD goes by dazie52 so if you see a post from her (rare now that she's on the ship) you know it's Robyn.

Plano has been VERY wet and cooler than normal but I think the weather pattern just changed and we'll probably be hot and dry for the rest of the summer - but Heidi, it's NOT a dry heat. Paul and I lived in Lancaster CA one summer and that's a DRY heat.

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer. Robyn is back on the Magic and back in the groove of the Club. She's been working iwth 5-7s this contract but may change ages if they need her to. She said there were lots of new crew members in the Kids Programming area so they may need to spread the experience around.

For anyone who's interested, she called me from Grand Cayman Tuesday night so I now know the cell works from there. Now to wait and see what the bill is like!

You guys have fun.

75 days since we got off the ship, do you guys remember when we had 75 days till we were to get on the ship? Jason was doing his picture trivia, Heidi was letting us know how much she liked Tom Jones (the throwing incident), JenLyn was a scrapping machine, I think that Monkeyboy and Bowtie Joe were just joining in, CM mom and a whole bunch of others I don't think had even found us.

I know my wife (B & R mom) and my best bud (Pango) had no clue about the thread, and then look to where we are today (don't get me wrong I have been one of the worst offenders). I still talk to Bowtie Joe about once a week, BTW he is in NagsHead this week and Cedar Point next, and hang out with Pango every week.

I don't know what I am trying to say, maybe I just wish we were 75 days away from going instead of 75 days past.

Hello everybody.

I feel so bad that i hadn´t checked onto this board for so long but I´m glad to see some of you are still out there.
We are thinking back those 75 days to the warm and sunny time. The weather here is so unbelievable bad,no summer at all,a total of 3-5 days with sun and no rain. The rest-Forget it.

Heidi-your picture looks really sweet.Hope, you are all very well.I´m just having a gin tonic,so -cheers to you.

Since the weather is so bad,I´m happy to report new vacation plans for Silke and me.It´s of to New Zealand for almost 4 weeks at 02.25.2005.We can´t wait, although the thought of 25 hours on 3 planes is scary.I´m glad that I took your Motion Sickness Medicine you kindly gave me,Heidi. They will be very helpfull when we go Whale watching and on a Catamaran sail.

Tom--It's weird it's already been 75 days. I remember those days of being giddy with anticipation of the upcoming cruise and this thread was so hot...now it's just NOT! I'm still secretly obsessing over Tom Jones if that helps you any..LOL! Ryan and I are actually discussing a move to Las Vegas....then I can go on my own bra search anytime! I'd love to live in Vegas full time! It's something we may do in the next year or so and then after that I could tell you tales of Tom Jones and my newest adventure of trying to find my thong! Heck if we move there you can come visit us and help in the thong and bra searches LOL. We've found the best way to cure the post cruise depression is to book another one! I think Ryan and I are cured of the cruising bug...but the Vegas/Cancun bug is still alive and well.

Connie--Your trip to New Zealand sounds like a great time! I'm jealous that you get to go but so NOT jealous of the hours on the plane! I wish I could send you some of our heat and sunshine becuase I just got my power bill and I had to use a defibrillator to re-start my heart! Over $150.00 for the last month because of the air conditioner going full time..OUCH! Thanks for the compliment of the picture...I like it alot! It seriously is the only picture of myself that I've liked for years!!! I long for those Gin and Tonics! Ryan and I are being good since we started the South Beach Diet..but in 3 more days the gin and tonic is coming back since I will have gone through the hardest part phase 1 where there are NO carbs at all including liquor! I guess it's good Utah is so expensive for liquor..it makes doing this a little easier and nice on the pocketbook. IT's worth it though since I've lost 4 percent body fat, 3 inches and 8 pounds in 2 weeks. I'm glad you still have some Meclizine to take with you!

Reine--Sorry to hear your weather has been cool. I wish I could send you some of our heat! We've actually had higher than usual humidity here which when added to 98 degrees makes it awful! We just aren't accustomed to the "air you can wear" here so it's weird! I know if we move to Vegas that dry heat will be everywhere BUT then in the winter hardly ANY snow and no shoveling (I can be like Jason and not deal with a shovel) LOL!!

Well I'm off to make dinner....only 3 more days of boring meals and then I can finally eat something besides salad and chicken!

Just a check in that I'm still on the boards. Apparently the Boards aren't sending e-mail notifications right now so I don't get notified when someone posts like I used to.

Believe it or not, Robyn has been back on the Magic for almost 2 months. She's still having a ball.

Heidi, Texas has now gotten hot, but not as bad as usual. I think we've only had a couple of 100 degree days and it's already into August. And they're talking about highs around 85 for Sunday. For us, that's downright comfortable.

Paul and I are hoping to cruise again maybe in January, 2005 but this time we're going space available to save the $$$. And this time is a Mom and Dad ONLY cruise while Robyn's working on the ship. Now if we can just get the cash saved for the property taxes and Christmas, then we can start saving for the cruise.

Conny and Silke, way cool about the trip to New Zealand. The long plane trip is difficult but you guys are pros at managing long plane trips so I'm sure you'll do fine.

.Just talked to Jason and they are getting readfy to go on their back to back cruise in 2 weeks and they will try to say "HI" to Robyn from us.
A cruise in April sounds pretty good,a week earlier would be great so i can skip having to throw a party for my 40.birthday.Dreadful thought.
So I`m seriously considering that.
CM mom-believe me,the flight will be a pain,I´m glad I bought some melantonin in Orlando, that will be helpful, also the Drammamine from Heidi will be good for the whale watching and Catamaran sail and the ferry trip from the south to the north Island. But just in case I´mgoing to buy me a nice Knee bandage like yours, who knows what trouble i get myself into this time.

Hello again Cruise Friends.

Just had to get on and brag a little. Robyn is no longer in the Kids Clubs. She has been promoted to the Administration area of the ship. She's now an OFFICER. :cheer2:..well, only one stripe and technically an Operations Assistant. She gets a BIGGER cabin in a couple of weeks and she gets to eat in the officer's mess and a few other perks too. This is a good thing since there's NO WAY the cabin could be any smaller.

A position opened up that she applied for and was chosen. She started yesterday (Saturday) and is so excited. She's now more involved in the behind the scenes stuff which she is really loving.

She had to go shopping yesterday in Port Canaveral (after the ship FINALLY docked) for new shoes since she now wears WHITES all the time and white leather athletic shoes aren't appropriate. :(

She had a great time in the Club but since her degree is in Recreation Administration with a minor in Business Administration, this is a great career move for her.

In her new position she will be "swinging" between the Magic and the Wonder. She's on the Magic till December 11 and joins the Wonder on December 12 till February 6. Then home for vacation. I think she returns to the Magic in mid-April and will be on the Magic at least for repostioning from FL to CA and the early CA cruises.....unless she changes jobs again. In her interview she was asked where she wanted to be 2 years from now and she said "working on the ship". I think she's hooked for a long time.

We're hoping to do a 4 day Wonder cruise in January but will stick to space available this time. If no space, we'll do WDW. This trip will be a Paul and Reine ONLY trip as a belated celebration of our 31st anniversary.

Guess I'd better send Jason an e-mail that she won't be in the Club to say Hi to.

Hope everyone has a great week. I'm hurricane watching for obvious reasons.

great to hear about the knee! see those konk koolers work wonders!

I wonder if anyone can help me. I am trying to find someone who is going to be cruising soon. I want to have someone buy a watch for me. It was in the treasure Ketch. It was a beautiful man's watch with a box. It's about $150 - 200. If you know of someone who is going (& can be trusted) I will send the $$$. Any help would be apprecated. it's for Bill for Christmas. Of course I think about it too late to ask Jason & Travis.

Hey Everyone....it's been too long!!! It took some "searching" to find this thread...remember the good ol' days when it was front and center, top of the page??? Ahhh, the memories!

I just started a new thread because we booked our EASTERN CARIBBEAN MAGIC sailing on 4/29/06!!! Woo hoo!!!

Anyone out there interested in joining us for a "reunion"???

571 days is a long time to wait, but luckily we'll have a few Disney trips to hold us over until then (the soonest one will be at the Beach Club Villas over Thanksgiving)!

It' good to see you around! Hope things are going well for you. Sounds like you have some great travel plans coming up. The best we can do is Arizona in Febuary for our daughter's college graduation & Oklahoma in July for a family wedding. There has been some Disney talk for next summer by some of the family but nothing in our immedate future:scared1: Maybe I can convince Bill for a Magic May cruise 2006???

Hi Everyone,
We're still around but no $$$ for cruising. Robyn is still working on the Magic. She will be switching to the Wonder in June. Last I heard she's planning to go to Italy when she's on vacation this fall.

We're planning a camping vacation in October. It's a far cry from the Magic but WAY cheaper and since we enjoy nature, we'll just pitch our tent and sit and watch the river run by. Maybe do a little hiking and watch the squirrels.

I mentioned on the Live from the 4-30 Eastern that last year this time we were on the Magic. Time does fly.

Hi all!
:hourglass Time sure does fly! I can't believe it was a year already! Bill & I just celebrated our 10th anniversay & we held a caribbean party! BIG pitchers of Konk Koolers for everyone!! Everyone loved them! :tilt: BIll's doing great and so am I. I was just named Basic Life Support Provider of the Year for my county (I'm a volunteer EMTin Orange County NY) and for the Hudson Valley Region! :goodvibes I'm so psyched!
HI Reine sounds like DD is doing well. :cheer2: When she goes to the Wonder will she be doing the same job or is it a promotion? Itlay sounds wonderful! Our DD went to Milan for several days for work & she said it was nice. Not as clean as she expected but very nice. Tell Robin to look out for guys trying to pick her up. Shannon says that's a big thing there. They like to try to take your $$.
No cruise this year. Maybe next. We didn't get to see "BowTie Joe" last trip but we hope to next! We are going to WDW for Halloween! Just for a few days. That should calm our Disney fix.
Well hope everyone else is doing well. Take care!

:cool1: Hello my fellow cruisers :cool1:

So great to see that you´re still out there. Our new cruising countdown is down to 356 days till our 23.April Wonder cruise. We can´t wait.
New Zealand was wonderful,no injuries this time, but camera got stolen at Singapore Airport. It seems there will never be a vacation without some minor catastrophies for me.
Reine-since we will be on the Wonder, maybe we´ll have the chance to meet Robyn.
One more thing-does anybody have a good recommendation, where to stay for the night before the cruise at Cocoa Beach, not expansive, but clean. That would be great.
Bye for now and lots of greetings from Germany

Hey everyone,

instead of thinking back about last years cruise, lets have a two year anniversary one. Come join us on the April 29th, 2006 Eastern Magic Cruise thread, and then book it and come with us.

Joe you know you want to, I just have to tell everyone that 1 year ago I had the best vacation that I have ever taken in my life. To all of you who were a part of that I need to say Thanks.

Tom,
My name is Cathy and we were on the cruise with you last year at this time.Just wanted to let you know we will be joining you again, April 29th on the Magic. We've already booked it, so hopefully nothing will get in the way. Last time we had 12 with us. This time we're up to 16, 5 cabins.
We'll be talking to you! We can start the count down-361 days to go!!!! :cool1:

Yeah!!! Our friends from GR are joining us again!!! Yippie! Cathy, you'll have to check out the other thread that I started for that cruise...it's up to 23 pages already so you'd better get in on the action now!!!

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=8466936#post8466936

It is weird to think that it has been a whole year since our cruise...in some ways it seems like it was yesterday, but in some ways it seems like it was forever ago! I guess the great part is knowing that we'll be doing it again in another year!!! Yeah!!!

Conny, it sounds like you'll be getting off of the ship (Wonder) right before we get on (Magic). FYI, we stayed at the Ronjon Resort last year the night before the cruise and will be doing it again next year...it was awesome!

It was great hearing from everyone again!!! And remember, there is still room on the 4-29-06 Magic...remember how much fun you had last year!!! Join us!!!

Hi Lisa.
Yes,we will indeed stay fo one week in WDW after our cruise(not before because of Easter Holidays-too crowded),but we are planning on doing Discovery Cove and Seaworld,so itís not only Disney this time.Silke is fine and sends happy greetings to all of you. :cheer2: :cheer2:
Belle&Rellas Mom-I looked into Ronjons, but we just need a place to sleep,we arrive not befpre 7 or 8 and leave the next morning for the Wonder and for that I think is too expensive.I was thinking about Motel6 or something like that.
Anyway,we have some time to make up our minds.
Take care
