I have to say that the 56 belair was from RYAN and the 57 Chevy was from ME! We actually got into a small little "arguement" over who was right and of course (you'd think after 14 years of marriage) I WAS RIGHT! YEEHAW! More bragging rights coming my way!!!
As for the rude post ;) about the weather...I'll have you know we got yet another 4 inches of snow overnight with temperatures at 11:30 am here at a steady 37 degrees! HOWEVER by the middle of the week next week it is supposed to be dry, sunny and in the middle to high 50's *Possibly pushing 60 by Wed* so I do have some hope!!!
7 Weeks and 5 days and we leave..WOOOHOOO!!!!

Nice weather here in MD today - high 60's!!!
Did some cruise shopping - got the dreaded BATHING SUIT... definetly motivation for me for the next 7+ weeks! Also, got DS some shorts outfits, formal outfit and a tropical outfit. I think, other than a few odds and ends - I'm set!!
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and doing well...
C ya'll not soon enough!!!

Hello, hello, hello everyone!
The visit to Disney yesterday proved productive for my cruise shopping. I was able to find a new watch (not really needed but it was too nice to pass up), new flip-flops, and a couple of new t-shirts for the cruise. Oh, and I also found a cool patch for a pair of jeans badly in need of repair! So, some of the visit was work and it wasn't all play. :)
We ended up going to Epcot for the first half of the day and then stopped by Downtown Disney later that evening.
Conny--
I think the idea of meeting for drinks at Paradise Point later on in the afternoon is a great one! That way, everyone can kind of do their own thing and stop by the tramway before returning to the ship. Just let us know what sort of time-frame you were thinking of and we'll be there! :)
Heidi--
Congrats on 14 years! Travis and I will be celebrating 11 this coming July and can relate to those little "arguments." :p
Tracey--
I was on the lookout for my Tropical shirt yesterday as well but came up a bit empty handed. Hopefully, with the summer clothes coming out, I'll have more luck in the next few weeks!
Linda--
Are you guys planning on visiting the parks the day before the cruise or are you just flying in and taking it easy?
Hope all is well with everyone! Talk to you soon!

I am so jealous you got to do Disney yesterday! It was cool here but sunny so I guess I should have been happy! Cool you found some stuff for the cruise! What kind of patch did you get? A mickey one?? LOL I am planning on starting the try on routine with the kids this week to see what we are in desperate need of before we go. I know nothing I own is going to fit this year since I've *ahem* put on a few pounds since last time I wore them.
It is actually 55 here today and sunny so FINALLY some spring weather. It rained here yesterday morning and took away alot of the snow, then cleared up and got sunny.
Jason cool on the 11 years together! I think ANYONE who can make it past about the 5th year mark for any length of time after that should deserve some kind of medal!
Tracy I'm impressed about the bathing suit thing! I put my bikini on I bought in Cancun last August on (it fit really good then) and it wasnt too bad. Fortunately it came with palazzo pants so that hides most of the gross areas! :earseek:
I think later today I am going to call the Hyatt to see if we can get a day room the day we fly back home since our flight was changed by Delta after booking it to a 5pm flight. I guess it's not too bad because we get home at 7 that night and still have all day Sunday to get back into home life again!
Well off to bike ride with the kids in the warm spring sun!:sunny:
Have a great rest of the weekend!

lol..thats as good of a guess as it gets Jason!!!
Jason & Travis - Lucky you guys for getting a Disney "fix"!!! Glad you had a good time!
Heidi - thanks.. actually the one I bought (after trying on like 5 others!) has a matching sarong so it'll hide all my gross areas too!! lol.. gotta love those sarongs!!!!!!! Its funny, last week, Logan and I went to KMart and I found a cute blue colored floppy hat (J-Lo style).. I actually wanted the brown colors, but DS wanted me to have the blue... so I said ok.. Turns out yesterday in all my shopping frenzy, the bathing suit I picked out has the EXACT blue from my hat (I had actually totally FORGOTTEN about buying the cheap hat)!!! I'm pretty sure that DS has some sort of 6th sense!! lol.... was quite amazing..
Hope everyone had a great weekend.. countdown continues!!!

Hi ya all...
I don't know how certain people on this thread rate all the good weather;) If I tried to ride a bike today I would look like the witch from Wizard of Oz! The last 5 days have been crazy windy. But I did brave the forces to pick up a pair of sandals and an outfit:teeth:
I would love to have a drink at Paradise Point if you all don't mind. Where is Paradise Point? I keep getting confused what excursions are on what island. I don't thinks that was an excursion that you would have to sign up ahead of time was it?
Well, I hope everyone has recovered from their shopping trips, and if you don't mind push some of that nice weather this way, I'll pay ya later:sunny:

Paradise Point is on St. Thomas. It's basically an overlook, observation type of area that is reached through a cable-car. I have a link to the web site on <a href="http://*****************">*****************</a> if you want to check it out. And of course we would love to have you!!! ::yes::

Tracey- Too funny about the hat matching the new suit! Sounds like Logan will keep you matching at all times! :jester:
I am so bummed about my suit...it fit me SO good (if that's possible once you have kids and enter your 30's) and I loved wearing it and then the winter came and blew my pounds right back on me. I dont have enough motivation to kill myself like I did before Cancun last year to get down to the Cancun weight. Oh well...at least I dont have to look at me right??? It will be everyone else that will have to endure it! :hyper:
LOL Alice-I would highly doubt you look like the Wicked Witch on a bike! I hate any form of exercise unless it's tilting a cup full of boat drinks to my lips..other than that no thank you! Finally ended up giving my mountain bike to McKaylee since I never ride and she always wants to ride. Now if I could get the treadmill, total gym and weight set to someone else I'd feel pretty good! LOL:teeth: That's cool you got some stuff for the cruise! I'm waiting until it gets to the point where it's do or die before I shop for my stuff. I HATE to shop for clothes! Now home decor, shoes, sheets, towels and clothes for the kids are another story! :yo-yo:
I had to wait through about 12 inches of snow last week to get to this weather so for awhile I'm keeping it here! :teeth:
We hope to be able to make it to the top of the tram for drinks but who knows if we will really be able to or not! Usually when we plan something like that Tanner freaks out so we shall see! A nice fruity drink on top of a mountain sounds nice but make sure if we make it that I dont get too many..my luck is I'd fall down the mountain and kill myself! LOL
Jason- That's an awesome patch! Tanner needs some of those since he keeps blowing out the knees in his jeans! We need to get him some "tough skin" jeans (for those of you who are even old enough to know what those are ;) ) but that patch is awesome! I'm still so jealous that you get to go to Disney whenever! I think we need to start looking for jobs near Disney either California or Florida!
Well crap it's time to go get dinner going and help McKaylee with her homework since she missed school all last week due to a nasty case of strep throat!
Later days!

Hi all, sounds like everyone had a very productive weekend!! We didn't get any cruise clothes shopping done (kids are all done, just need a few things for dh and I) but we did head out to buy a new battery for my camcorder (the old one wouldn't hold a charge) and while we were there, dh decided we should just buy a new camcorder since it wasn't THAT much more than buying a new battery. So now I have a cute little compact camcorder to bring on the cruise, lol.
Jason, we will not be arriving until 5:45 pm on Friday night, so we will be going right to the hotel (we are staying at the Best Western Airport), getting something to eat and getting a good night's rest hopefully!!
I love that patch too. My son (he's 6) is pretty hard on the knees of his jeans too, Heidi. But come summer I will be buying bandaids instead of patches, because he will be being hard on the knees of his knees, lol.
Well, have a great Monday, everyone!! (can you believe we are almost to the 50 day mark????)

Hi All:wave2:
Took the week end off from computer. Went to a recreational Show looked at Park models to set up somewhere when we retire umm.. sounds like Florida would be just the place so I can just drop by WDW anytime like you guys Jason & Travis (Sooo.. lucky) Love the patch did you get it at Downtown? Also Congrats on 11 years Bob and I will be 33 yrs. this Aug  and you know we don't know too many who have been together that long I think because we are still both kids at heart and LOVE DISNEY really helps the relationship so I guess you all will be making it to a long time too.:teeth:
Heidi
Bob and I have a day room all set up for the Hyatt our flight leaves at 6:00pm. I called their toll free # (800-233-1234) and got one right away! $60 dollars plus tax for 10a.m. to 6 p.m.
Now all of you girls about the bathing suits, at least I am hearing two pieces from you just wait until post 50 yrs and we are talking one piece with tummy control and a sarong:crazy:
Our local Wal-Mart has lots of tropical clothes capris, t-shirts,Shirts, bathing suits and hats!! Also jC Penney had lots too.
Tracy
It's so cool you have a hat to match your suit got to love that DS taste in clothes.
Weather wise here in Vermont it is snowing right now:mad: it depends on where in Vt you live we still have snowbanks up past our windows but in Burlington near the Lake they have No snow at all! That is only 35 miles from our home. We are into our Maple sugaring big time right now, nothing like fresh boiled maple syrup, but I sure would trade it for that tropical drink on top off Paradise Point any day :hyper:

Hi everybody.
It´s good to hear you all had a nice weekend.I had to work at a very cold Soccer stadium for hours with a bad flu basically waiting(I´m doing make-up for TV and Photoshoots). This day was totally wasted.
Jason-pm sent, hope to hear the result.
Scraphappymama-we are staying at the Best Western Airport on our first night (04.22)before we go to the Animal Kingdom Lodge.Did you know anything about this hotel or did you pick it by chance,it has a good price with a AAA discount.
When I´m reading all your shopping reports,I really get the feeling I have to get started since we leave 9 days earlier than all of you.But right now I´m waiting if Nanci from YMJ is getting us some nice room discounts,so I can make a final budget.Codes are supposed to come out tomorrow,I´m hoping, hoping, hoping.
Bye for now

Swimsuits ugh! It's bad enough to have to put one on but the price they charge you for public humiliation :earseek: just isn't right. I'm beginning to think the only way I'm going to lose 10 pounds before the trip is to donate a limb to science.
We still haven't decided where we are staying Friday night or how we are getting to the port. I guess it would be a good time to give it some serious thought::yes::
Hey Travis come out, come out wherever you are:wave2:
Look forward to seeing you all:sunny:

Conny, we have no experience with that particular hotel. We picked it because it was one of the hotels on my mom's AARP (assn of retired persons, lol) discount card. We have stayed at Best Westerns before and liked it. If you get there and have a horrible experience, you will have to track down an internet connection and warn me, so I can find a different hotel, lol. (or if it is great, let us know that too!!!!)
I did find some tropical capri pants this weekend that are really cute, but had both kids with me and couldn't try them on, so I didn't buy them. I told dh that I need to go shopping BY MYSELF next weekend!!!!

Alice - too funny!! lol.. But you are right - I probably should have sold a limb to pay for my bathing suit!! Ridiculous... So, I will make sure I get my moneys worth!!!!
Linda - I love capri pants but can't wear them very well (too short - me, not the pants!!).. And I guarantee you won't be able to stop shopping with the pants! I'll be eager to hear what else you pick up this weekend!!!!
DS and I are hoping to make it to the top of Paradise Point as well, although I'll be the one partaking in the bushwhacking!! Though if we actually make it back DOWN, will be yet to be determined.. I'm not sure if DS is afraid of heights or not, as we've never quite been up that high!!!
Cool Patch Jason!!!
We are also doing the Dayroom at they Hyatt on Sat. - our flight doesn't leave til 5:00ish.. I'm sure that will be the most UNproductive day of our entire vacation, but I'm sure we will need it. Besides, napping the day away or lounging by the pool doesn't sound half bad to me!!!!

Ok now this thread is getting very active and I LOVE IT! I'm getting so excited that my family thinks I'm having a nervous breakdown!
Bobbidboo thanks for the heads up on the 800 # for the Hyatt. I just got a day room as well but of course I didnt get as good of a rate as you did but oh well...at least I have one to just chill in for the day! There is nothing worse than sitting in an airport with 3 kids for 5-8 hours..Ryan and I did that once after a Carnival Cruise we let them book the airfare because we didnt want to deal with hotels, transportation and all of that. They booked us on a 5pm flight out of Miami and we were at the airport at about 9:30 so we had to wait forever! Thankfully they still had lockers in the airport at that time so we just got a locker for all of our stuff and just hung out but man it was boring! This will be nice to have a room to watch tv, nap, go swimming and everything else!
Linda--I know..we bought stock in Bandaids when this child was born. (just kidding but we should have) because he is always scraped up. I keep thinking someone is going to call Child Services on me! I havent sucked it up yet and gone and bought any new pants...but I'm going to have to go sometime today!
We are in the mid to upper 50's today and it is SO nice! They reported in our local newspaper that from November 1st until this past Saturday we had experienced only 11 days of sunshine in that time span! It stinks! It's supposed to be in the lower 60's by the end of the week! It was SO nice to send my kids outside yesterday to play! I cannot wait for this cruise....the warmth, sunshine and no phone!
Alice--Girl you are cracking me up with your humiliation and bathing suits! I totally agree!!! And as for me losing weight...I got really serious today when I got on the scale and weighed almost as I did the day I delivered Tanner! I bought me some Slim Fast and lots of veggies and also *shh dont tell on me* bought up bottle after bottle of ephedra before it is completely banned! I'm hoping that in 7 weeks I will be a svelte super model :teeth:  :teeth: :jester: If not then I too will probably be minus an appendage just to appear slimmer! I told Ryan I wanted a **** job to make my stomach and hips look smaller! LOL:hyper:
Conny--good luck on the codes! I will keep my fingers crossed for you!!! Sorry to hear you had the flu and had to work as well and waste a day! We've all been hit so hard with the flu around here it is insane! I wish we were leaving 9 days earlier than I have posted here...heck I'd be down into the 40's on the countdown! Oh well 7 weeks sounds almost better than 51 that's for sure!!
Tracy--LOL about you not knowing if you'll make it down! I know the feeling! When we were in Las Vegas we did the Stratosphere Tower rides...oh my they were so scary! They have a new ride that slides you over the edge and you hang there looking at the strip for about 10 seconds. It's like a teeter totter but MUUUCCHHH higher!
Well I guess I'll go keep looking through all the summer clothes for the kids to find out what else needs to be bought!
Take Care!

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to say that we are also going to be on the Magic on May 1, Myself, the Queen, and the 3 princesses (8, 5, and 2 years old yesterday), along with Grandpa and Grandma, and Good friends with their 8 year old DD.
We are very excited, and also booked with points as we are DVC members. Have not booked any excursions, but will probably do the Tram to PP early so the kids can see the Bird show.
We are staying at the Ron Jon Resort the night before the cruise, I have enjoyed reading all your posts, and look forward to seeing you all on the cruise.

Hello and welcome Belle and Rella's Dad!
Glad to see that we'll be on the same cruise! The consensus on the thread is that excitement rules around here, especially since we're less than two months away from our cruise now!!! Actually, only 52 days out! :hyper:
Our group has created a Disney Magic May 1st Cruise site at <a href="http://**********************">*****************</a> so that we can post info about ourselves and start to get to know one another. Check it out and send in your info if you would like.
Is this your first Disney Cruise or are you Castaway Club Members?
Conny--
Have a safe trip! Just think, we'll be that much closer to the cruise when you return. :)
Heidi--
A nervous breakdown? Travis and I usually save that for the night before the cruise. That's when we're frantically trying to do everything (i.e. packing, buying last minute things, running to the ATM for cash, etc., etc., etc.) that we should have taken care of weeks ago!

Hello all--
I wanted to share this neat little program with everyone. It's basically a countdown timer similar to the ones that we have in our Dis Board signitures except this is actually downloaded onto your PC. You can set a specific date that you want to countdown to, say, a cruise for example :) , and then the countdown clock stays on your desktop! That way, you'll always have the exact number of days, hours, minutes, and seconds until we board the Disney Magic!!!
The web site offers a free, "lite" version of the program and you can download it at <a href="http://www.timeleft.info/">TimeLeft</a>. I've had the program (the free "lite" version) for over a year now and love it. From what I remember, the download is very clean and doesn't include any ads or other freeware. Check out the site for screen shots and descriptions of the program!
Have fun!

Hey everyone! We leave in 7 weeks from tomorrow...holy crap~!
Conny....have a great time on your short trip!! Sorry about the weather! Right now it is a whopping 55 here in Utah at 11 am. It is SO nice to throw the kids outside for awhile to ride bikes and play on the swingset.
Belle and Rella's...nice to have you on the board. We have a 10 yr dd, 9 yr ds and 5 yr ds. It's nice to have grandma and grandpa go (unless you have MY mother in law) and friends going as well. Our friends backed out on us early in the countdown so we are going all alone which is fine with us! We are hoping to do the tram as well but one never knows with us if we'll make it or not (you could call us flakes) but we will certainly try!!! I heard Ron Jon's is nice...you'll have to let us know what your impressions of it were.
Jason---I tend to freak out and then not freak out and then really freak out about 1-2 days before we leave. My kids teachers are freaking me out a little bit about pulling the kids out of school but oh well..If worse comes to worse I'll homeschool them for a month and then re-enroll them next year. We'll be the ones at the ATM swearing at it an hour before we are supposed to board our flight because we forgot to get cash when the bank was open! LOL We've done that ALOT in the past! We are not a cash carrying family..it's amex or debit for us (gotta get the skymiles right?) so all of a sudden we panic about cash! I did however write it down on the calendar for things I MUST do on Monday before we leave! LOL
Also the countdown timer thing is really neat! Thanks for passing that along! My kids ask me all the time how many days and I always have to log into the Dis to find out...this will save me time from not replying to messages! LOL
Off to get Tanner to preschool!

Thought I would pass along some information about staying the night before the cruise. We booked Ron Jons!!
By the way we ended up using Code 102 at the Ron Jon resort and ended up with three studios at $75.00 each plus tax for a total of $82.50. I just put this out there because it does look like a fantastic resort, they just opened in January and have a 4 million dollar water park.
Thanks for the welcomes, it is nice to find people who understand the excitement that we are going through. By the way Jason should I e-mail you with our info? We have two of the SPH rooms on deck 5, but I don't know what else you need.

If we didnt have to have our Disney Fix on property we would have gotten a room there as well but we cant go to Disney without going to Disney!!! It looked amazing when I checked into the resort!!!

And too funny about Vegas!! You know, you've probably conjured up some WILD images in our minds!!! lol...

Thanks Heidi, I knew it had to be something simple like that, just couldn't wrap my mind around it.
Funny little story, my mom (who will be cruising with us) went to her doctor the other day, and she asked her doctor (a younger female doctor) if it would be okay if she had an occasional cocktail while on the cruise, or if it would interfere with her medication or not, and her doctor said (no lie) "you go girl, have the time of your life!!!" Mom thought that was very strange of her doctor to be talking that way, but she is glad to know it is okay to be partaking in the tropical drinks also. My dh is a beer drinker, but he did have a couple Rum Runners on the last cruise, so he might even join in!! (I think he is more looking forward to all the awesome meals every night)

Ahhh... The chocolate martini! Yes, they do have them (and anything else you can dream up) on the ship Tracey and they are quite yummy. They use Godiva chocolate liqueur. Only the best on DCL! :)
I'm actually not too fond of really strong drinks but this is one I can usually take. Although there have been many times when Travis has had to finish them for me.
Linda--
I usually don't drink often either. But, when on vacation, one might as well live it up, eh? :) I prefer those, how do you say, fu-fu drinks: margaritas, daiquiris, Konch Koolers, etc. Those and wine. Especially the champagne family!
As for the countdown...
I'll post the answer later this afternoon. I have a strong feeling someone will come up with the answer! :)

Oh man..I dont think I had better give Ryan that recipe! In Utah the state controls the liquor so they tax the crap out of it and it costs almost twice what it does in other states. We bought alcohol in Vegas (yeah and brought it across state lines LOL) and we got almost double the amount there that we get here so my alcohol bill cant afford any more than we are doing now! LOL My oh my do we sound like we need AA! We really arent drunks..just like drinking! And only drink on the weekends (otherwise the pounds are too hard to get rid of..learned THAT the hard way lately!)
As for Vegas...one day I will have to tell you what I did..maybe on the LAST day of the cruise! That way I wont have to see all of you in person again! LOL It really wasnt that bad..let's just say it cost me a little bit of money for a new clothing item and leave it at that! LOL

Well this bunch is looking like fun! I'm a huge martini fan, it's my signature drink! I prefer a vodka martini..... (shaken, not stirred of course, you're talking to a huge 007 fan) But I do like many other drinks.... I'm sure you'll see the two of us walking around with glasses of champagne in our hands, and plenty of other tasty drinks! ::yes:: I can't wait. I need to win the lotto, so I can just live on that ship.....

Oh don't get me started on the Martini's - Sour Apple Martini's with Midori are dangerous. The last time I drank them I made prank phone calls to my DDs. Chocolate are very good also.
Thanks for the info Belle's dad, I e-mailed them awhile ago and they never responded so I'll try again, at that price what a deal. Looking forward to meeting you all.
I have to run Linds to B-ball practice so she's nagging me to get going, talk to you soon.

Alice,
I cannot take credit for finding Code 102, someone here on the boards said that it was in a Florida Travel magazine. I just called the Ron Jon resort and told them that I saw the code and they honored it. The really good deal is that it is also value season for them so a studio comes to 82.50, I have found out that they don't provide things like shampoo for your trip, but I would ask about that when you call the resort.
I am really looking forward to the cruise and I'll tell you what I was afraid of what the Queen and my bar tab was going to look like before, but if I'm hanging out with you guys I need to go to work and sell something just to pay for it.

LOL I agree about getting to know people before we go. I was a little hesitant at first about even getting on a thread like this but now that I have (and I started it go figure LOL) I am so glad I did! It is so much fun!!!
Belle & Rella----Ryan and I arent huge outside of the house "drunks" but when we are on vacation we figure "what the hey...might as well live it up" so we do get quite a few fu fu drinks :teeth: although for me I really only like Gin so I usually dont drink anything other than Bahama Mama or occasionally a daquiri...but I hope they have a GREAT supply of Gin on board as I plan to suck it dry! Well, we've finally been assigned our cabin number. It's Category 11 on Deck 6. No upgrade for us, at least not yet! But, I can't say that I'm disappointed because I'm way too excited to be sailing on the Magic again!!!! :hyper:
I was wondering if we had decided on where and when to hold the Dis Meet? It seems that most agree on the Promenade Lounge (yes, Heidi, it has a bar ;) ) just after the mandatory lifeboat drill. That way, we can mingle for a bit and then head up to the Sail-Away Celebration where there will be fu-fu drinks galore! :D
If anyone else would like to suggest a different time and/or location for the meet, please do so. If not, then I'll go ahead and post the info on the site so that newcomers to our group will have the heads-up.

I'm probably not the best one for an opinion on a meeting time but it seems like on the last cruise we were on..by the time we got back to the cabin, put the life vests in the closet and got back up to the 9th deck the party was already underway or pretty close. I'm wondering if we should do it before the lifeboat drill?? Just a suggestion....of course I'm going to have a he** of a time getting my kids out of the pool to do anything. We have early dinner seating so between the drill, sailaway party and getting ready for dinner I dont think we would have a lot of time to meet but what do I know? I've only been on one and my inlaws were with us and they put a damper on everything that day.
Whatever everyone decides is fine with me....and if it doesnt work out for me or my family for some reason then I'll have to look for all of you later on. I will TRY to get them all there no matter what is decided...and he** if it has a bar...you KNOW I'll be there.....LOL:teeth:

Seeing how it is only DH and I we can do a meeting that is more convient to those with little ones (or even big ones!) who do not want to rush around on our first day. Since I teach pre school I know what the pulling and pushing of little ones does to their dispositions and most definately sets the mood for the day:eek:
I will be checking out Jason's site to see what you all decide.
Jason & Travis Yeah finally a room assigned, I have been checking to see how many rooms are left and not very many cat 11's so as it gets closer to sail date there may be lots of last minute bookings and you still might get that upgrade yet, I see there were still several outside cabins available on deck 6 & 5, I have my fingers crossed you are upgraded to one of those!!

Count me in on the fu fu drinks. I have a separate budget just for drinks :hyper:

Ok a couple of ideas here....
Does everyone know about what time you are going to be on the ship on Saturday? I know we are leaving POR at 11 so we should be in line to get at noon...hopefully on board by 1 (we got there late last time so we didnt have to wait) but I'm thinking everyone could get a bite to eat and maybe we could meet at like 3 somewhere near the Mickey/Goofy pools??? That way we could see each other on Saturday.
My other idea is to maybe meet up after the late seating dinner...but I dont know how that would work either. Since I havent been more than once and it was rushed and with the inlaws I am not sure if it would work.
I think it would be a riot to meet up on Saturday just because then we would know each other the whole week.
Just throwing that out there!

I am guessing we will be around the kids pool areas around 3 pm, weather permitting, of course!!
Or we could try and meet somewhere else around that time, if those without kids don't want to brave the Mickey pool areas. Meeting earlier on Saturday sounds like a good idea to me, so we avoid the rush of life boat drill, sail away, early seating dinner, etc.

We will most likely be at the Port around 11ish....
So, we can do an early meeting too - wherever is fine with me..
I think 3:00 sounds like a good enough time for all to have eaten, gotten their cabin, made their ressies, etc.
Also, those of us with kids, this will be a good time for them to meet each other and maybe make friends right off the bat..
Can't wait!!!!

I didn't want to say anything earlier because I didn't want to push anyone to meet at a time that would cause stress; but I would love to meet on Saturday. I'm just as excited about meeting everyone as I am the trip. I think 3:00 at the kids pool is great. I would love to see all the kids together and I agree it would probably be a nice ice breaker for them.
It is windy and freezing here today, sorry Tracey I think it's coming your way.

All I can say is *UGH*!
I went to update the site this morning and discovered that the file was, gulp, g...o...n...e! I couldn't believe it!
So, you can guess what I spent my entire day doing. Yup, building the site from almost scratch. I think I'm going bonkers from staring at the screen for so long today!
At any rate, I think it's up and running again. You all may want to check out all of your info and such because I’m sure I made mistakes throughout the re-building process. Please e-mail me if you find dead links, incorrect links, missing or inaccurate info, etc.
As for the Dis Meet, I have only been on the boards a couple of times today but I did put up some of the suggestions on the site. Once we have all of the options, I'll set up a poll so we can determine where and when we want to meet. That is, if everyone wants to do it that way. :D
I love Saturday for a meet simply because it's the first day and you start putting names with faces around the ship. We've always had ours right after the drill and, as many have said, time is limited. However, you do have a good 30 minutes and it also allows for an easy way "out" for those individuals who may be a bit more shy. Generally, from past experiences, the group breaks up into smaller groups and heads up to the Sail-Away Celebration on Decks 9 and 10. We've had very large meets, say 80+, and it's just too difficult to stay in such a large group in a busy area.
Talk to you all soon!

Well my vote is also for Saturday at 3 near one of the pools so that my kids can meet kids, swim and I can get "lit" at one of the pool bars! LOLOLOL JUST KIDDING:teeth: :teeth: Since there are some kids that will be in groups together I think it would be nice (especially for my Tanner who at 5 is already telling me what he will and will NOT be doing) but I think he hated the kids club because he didnt know anyone and since we had grandparents they kept the kids with them while we were doing something. It would be good for him to have someone he knew to go to the clubs with!!!
Alice---I feel your pain about the weather...it has been absolutely GORGEOUS here the whole week. 60 + today and supposed to be that warm tomorrow BUT tomorrow night we are supposed to get snow and rain...and back to cool temps again!!! How'd the dentist go??? I sent subliminal messages to Alice's dentist to do something good and not charge a fortune to do it..hopefully it worked!
What did you want to know about attire?? Sea days mostly people are in bathing suits and shorts with sandals. At night they usually wear nice slacks, skirts or capris with a nice shirt unless it is formal night. I have a really plain black long backless dress I wear for formal night and then I Have another sundress to wear the less formal night. Mostly you need shorts and t-shirts or tank tops and sandals along with a few things to mix and match for dinner. I wouldnt take too much stuff.
Well I'm off to Parent Teacher Conference for McKaylee and Miles....only 47 days and 22 hours til we leave! I cant believe it's already that low..seems like it was just at 150 days!

Heidi- thanks for the children chart - it looks like the 5 yo set will be all set - they will be so cute together. My older girls were hoping to meet someone before we board, but as of now, no luck.
We plan on arriving at the port around 10:30 or so. The meet by the pool sounds like a good plan. I'm sure my girls will want to hit the pool first thing and it would be great for the kids to meet.
I can't believe how exciting this is. I keep telling myself - seven weeks, we leave in only seven weeks.
My 5yo DD brought a beautiful dress yesterday for tropical night. It is a sleeveless dress in blue with tropical flowers. She looks so cute (she wore it all night last night). I told her the only thing she needs now is a white flower for her hair. Don't you know she had me in Wal Mart toady looking at the artifical flowers :p
Our weather here has been up and down. Today we had highs in the mid 50's, but tonight they are calling for snow showers. Yuck!
I hope everyone has a good weekend - we're off to Richmond VA for a soccer tournament in the morning.

Jason, sorry you had such a bummer of a day!! You really go above and beyond the call for this group, that is for sure. What a guy!!!
Tammy, my dd3 has a very similar dress for tropical night, only hers is pink. I had a hard time getting her to take it off the first night!
my mom and I are going shopping this weekend (sans kiddos) so hopefully we will get the last of the cruise clothes taken care of.
One more thought on a Meet.... I was reading some of the other cruise meet threads to get an idea of what some others do (yes, I was bored!!) and one that stuck out to me was meeting in one of the sitdown dining rooms for lunch on Sunday. (my opinion, if we did this, it should be IN ADDITION TO the poolside 3 pm meet that has been suggested, which is my first choice!) Just throwing another thought out there for consideration.
Have a great night everyone.

Linda - I think that sounds like a good idea! I'm all for the 3:00 Sat. meeting too, but then I also think a more relaxed sit-down setting would be great as well!!!!
Silke - Hi back at ya!! :wave2:
The tropical dresses sound ADORABLE... that is ONE thing I miss about having a DS; dresses + hairstyles!!!!
Have a great day everyone!!!!! 7 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After months of reading the Dis board, anticipating our cruise, I can stand it no longer. I must let you all know how very excited I am about our upcoming cruise on the Magic. I will be traveling with DH and DS (who will be turning 6 two weeks before we leave). I have no questions to post because this board does an AWESOME job of covering everything. We booked a GTY CAT 11. I will let you know if we get an upgrade. But it will be just fine if not. :bounce: :Pinkbounc :earsboy:

Hello Silke!
I was wondering if you were going to pop up on here before we depart for our cruise! Glad to see that Conny is keeping you informed on all of the crazy characters you'll be sailing with in May. So, are you as excited as everyone else around here? :)
Welcome to the thread Abjennings!
We were booked as Category 11 GTY as well but have since been assigned our stateroom. It's on Deck 6, Midship. Someplace we've never stayed before so we're looking forward to a whole new experience! :D
If you would like, you can send in your family's info to our Disney Magic May 1st Cruise Site at <a href="http://**********************">*****************</a>. We're in the early stages of planning a Dis Meet on the cruise so if you have any suggestions or ideas, please don't hesitate to share them. Looking forward to meeting you!
Everyone--

HAPPY FRIDAY TO EVERYONE!!!
47 days for us..and counting!!! Holy cow..I really really really need to get working on clothing issues!
Tammy-I was glad to put the chart together just to see who had kids where. The 5-6 group is going to be darling together!!! I wish there were more kids for the other ages but I dont see many together. I guess fortunately for Miles my 9 yr old ds he can go in with McKaylee my 10 year old dd and they can be together if nothing else. We promised our kids this time they could swim after we ate lunch on embarkation day so we have to keep our word! I think a meet by the pool would be a lot of fun just to keep it light and friendly. At least then if you wanted to show up you could and if you wanted to leave that is fine as well since we would only have maybe 30-45 min before the lifeboat drill. How cute about your 5 yr old and her dress! My 10 yr old was that way once! I have to go shopping for her I think more than my boys. I plan on getting her a really pretty dress for formal night. My boys however are going to fight me tooth and nail about anything more than khaki's and a shirt. I guess that will just have to do. Hope you had a great time at the soccer tournament.
Jason--so sorry about the list going wacko! That is one reason I absolutely HATE computers! WHenever I have something very important to do it freaks out on me. Now I just make Ryan do it all! LOL
Linda - It was my pleasure to do the list. It helps me figure out my "method of attack" with my kids getting them into the clubs. The older ones will be ok I think (though they will probably only use them at night since they LOVE to swim) but Tanner is going to be harder. I think if I can get him involved with some kids his age BEFORE the club he'll do better. I wish I could go shopping this weekend sans kids but Ryan has to work all weekend and my mom is out of town  Hopefully next weekend!!! I think your lunch idea sounds great!!!
HI SILKE:wave2:  ::yes:: Nice to hear from you!!! Glad Conny is keeping you up to date!!! It will be fun to hear from you as well!! This is getting so exciting now! We are down to 47 days and you guys are down even lower than that!!!
Tracy--We're supposed to get snow tonight..right now it is 55 degrees at 10:20 am so I know it will get warm and then BAM back into the 30's and 40's for the weekend. OH well now for us less than 7 weeks til the warmth of the Caribbean!!! I'm so glad everyone liked the list! I was bored yesterday (and I am sure I will be today as well) so I just decided to do it. I know what you mean about having a boy...they are just so "average" (no offense to you men out there) but they just get dressed and that's it. Of course my dd is giving me a run for my money right now (the tween years where she isnt a kid and isnt a teen) and ooohh baby...my boys are MUCH easier!! LOL
Abjennings...WOOHOO another addition to our group! I am SO glad you came in to join us!!! ANd another 5-6 year old group child to boot!!! Hopefully this board will just get more and more active the closer to sailing we get. If you find out your room number let us know! We have 2 connecting cabins at 6024/6026.
And as far as the countdown pic goes Jason my one and ONLY GUESS-------
The train station is in Fairbanks Alaska and Alaska was the 49th State????
If that's not right then I give up!! LOL Had to make sure you saw my answer this time! JUST KIDDING!!!!:teeth: ::yes::
Well off to Costco...the kids have today off of school so I gotta get some food in bulk today! LOL
I will check in later!

I'm just glad Google was invented....I had to recheck my history but who knows..I'm probably wrong! LOL
I only knew the Hemmingway one because my next door neighbor was just talking about it as she had to do a report on it and she borrowed Ryan's copy of the book and then made an off hand comment about it being written so long ago and for some reason it just stayed..you know part of the "useless knowledge" part of the brain? Jason---LOL..sorry to solve it..I should have waited I guess! I really love your riddles though because it makes the ol' brain work harder.
I cant come up with anything....I am terrible at coming up with something like that! I'll keep thinking though!
Tracy--LOL about not noticing....I almost didnt notice it either then just as I clicked the X I saw it and so I had to go back and look at it.
We just got our Digital Video Camera today..I'm so excited! When we went before in 2002 we had a video camera as well. Recorded our whole trip on it including time with the dolphins, the ship, the kids, WDW all of it. We came home and about 2 weeks later our house got robbed and they stole the camera and it still had the tape in it. I could have cared less about the camera but I was so mad about losing the memories. That's one of the reasons we are going again...just to get some of them back on tape!! They must have been kids that broke in though looking for a gun because they left all of my jewelry (diamond rings and earrings) and also left my visa/debit card behind. They looked in my closet, saw the video camera case and took it, they looked in Ryan's closet and saw an old tool box. I'm sure they thought it would be a gun they could steal..I'm sure they were pretty angry when they found a box of half empty tools that were pretty much useless. (Dont ask me why they were in there and not the shed or garage) but then they stole my leather jacket and my brand new chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, 2 spoons and a 6 pack of orange juice! Oh yeah and they stole a drill I had bought for my dad for Christmas!
Anyway that's my new reading material for all of you! LOL:teeth:
So I did at least get 1 thing for the cruise today!!!
Off to clean and figure out some kind of riddle!

Hi again guys it's Silke again!
I am to lazy for getting registered myself, sorry!
Actually, i am pretty calm about the trip for now. And i don't know why that is.
Conny has been making list's for ages, and is asking me what i am going to pack.
My answer always is:Don't know!
I will probably open my cupboard, and throw half of it's contains in my suitcase and that's it. I will leave my winterclothes inside.:teeth:
Maybe i am not that excited, because it is not our first trip to WDW? But still, the cruise is something new?
I also have this thing about never to expect to much, and that way you won't get dissapointed!
Anyway, i will try to put my head in here more often, it is great to get to know people in advance. And, who knows, the closer we get, the more exited i am bound to get.
I hope i didn't came across as a real bore right now;)
Have a nice weekend!!!!

Good afternoon everyone!
I was just checking out the temps for St. Maarten and St. Thomas on the site and boy are they lucky!
A true temp of 86 degrees F in St. Maarten with a heat index making it feel like 95! It's not even that nice here in Florida! (We're only at 73 degrees F. Although, we do have :sunny: .)
We've added two new cruise parties to <a href="http://*****************">*****************</a> so check out the info when you get a chance!
I think Travis and I may head out to the mall this afternoon to russel up some more much-needed cruise items. Travis got a great deal on some snorkel equipment last fall and I think I may look into getting some of my own as well.
Heidi--
That's a crazy story about the break-in at your place and more than a little bit scary if the individuals really were looking for a gun. About eight months ago I had someone break into my car. Well, in all honesty, I think I left the silly thing unlocked so it can't really be considered "breaking in." Still, I know how it feels to have your property violated like that. Not a good feeling at all. The individual(s) who went through my car didn't find anything that they liked. They took some change I had (probably less than a buck total) and took my CD case. I would say I had about 45 or so CDs. But, the thing was, they ended up chucking the CDs and case back into my front yard. I guess they didn't like my taste in music! (Lucky for me I guess they weren’t big Disney fans as a large portion of my CDs are, of course, Disney ones! )
Linda--
We've used the "Countdown Riddles" on other cruise threads and, let me tell you, I'm usually not very good at solving them either! But, it's part of the fun stressing your brain out over them! Takes the mind off of the time we have to wait before we get to sail on the Magic! Well, at least for a little while anyway. ::yes::
Silke--
I hope all is well with Conny. I know the state of current affairs is somewhat difficult in Spain right now. If you speak with her, tell her we're thinking about her and hope that she is safe!
Too funny about your packing style. I think it closely matches mine! ;)
Alice--
Time, fickle? I much agree! Just thinking about how fast our week on the Magic is going to go leaves me a bit disappointed! Especially since the seconds are ticking by now! Oh well, as Heidi is going to do, I plan on taping much of the week so I can enjoy it over and over again. At least in spirit!

Well, everyone, our shopping trip today was EXTREMELY productive!!! Um, between mom and I, we ended up with about 20 BAGS full of clothes, lol. I had already gotten most everything that the kids and dh needed, so this trip was suppose to be strictly for me and mom, but I still wound up getting a couple more things for both kids. Just can't help myself! Now there are only a couple things on my list, and I will be all done shopping. How early can I start packing???? lol

Hello everyone,I´m back.
Luckily,we were not on mainland Spain,we had to work at the Canary Islands, which are off the coast of Africa. The weather was absolutly beautiful and the job went smoothly(nice team).I hadn´t realize earlier, how muc in need if some SUN I were.
One other plus was, that the resort we were staying was an All Inclusive(even Cocktails were included:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc ).
The only bad experience was the flight home, had to hop to 2 different islnads before heading to Hamburg, then running around the Airport at midnight with tons of luggage to find the rental car agency, then to 3 different park garages to find the car-then to Hannover to drop me off at my car.I was home by 3 in the night and i had started the day at 5 with Make-up for the models to be ready by sunrise,so I have to admit I´m a little tired.
It´s interesting to see, that as soon as I´m gone my sister appears.Up ´till now she was kind of lazy.
Jason-when you commend on her packing style, I absolutly need my OWN suitcase, she is driving me crazy.
The Idea of meeting at 3 on Saturday is really great,I really think the time after the safety drill is to short with getting the lifevest back to the cabin and being early enough for the sailaway.I don´t want to miss it.And a second meet on Sunday for a sit-down lunchis brilliant in my opinion.I´m all for it!
God,I have to remember to ut on sunscreen everywhere,I forgot my decolletee and now i have my first sunburn of the year.
Ok,that´s it for now.i think I better start organizing my stuff, right now I´m having total chaos around, but I had to check here first.
Bye-bye

Hello all
Thanks for the welcome!
Scrap Happy Mama- My DD is three now and turns 4 on April 12. Thats close enough for me.
Three circles- Sounds like you'll have a great time on the catamaran cruise. We'll be doing a 'do it yourself" this time. Coki Beach and Coral World in St. Thomas and Great Bay Beach and Casino in St Marten as we have already been to Magens Bay and Orient Beach.
Anybody know if you can bring a corkscrew on board or do you have to pay the corkage fee?
Also... May not make it for 3:00 on Saturday as I have to register the kiddies at Oceaneers Club, make Palo and Spa reservations, get some giant shrimp at the buffet and most important get a big ole cocktail.
Has anybody out there used the excercise equipment or gone to any of the classes?:hyper: :hyper:
Can't wait.

Hi Jason - we are still planning on going to Anguilla by ferry from St. Maarten, there are a couple of hotels I want to check out for a possible future vacation. But we did make a change to our St. Thomas stop, we are going on www.daysailfantasy.com. I'm kind of sad I won't get to check out St. Thomas but there's always next time.
Wow Linda 20 bags, you were on a mission. I picked up a few things but I think I will go out today for a little bit. It's supposed to be up to 50F today, that seems to put me in the mood to spend money:D
All right now Conny here we are all worried about you and you're in the Canary Islands, ROUGH LIFE, I can see how you would need a vacation after that:D I have only wanted to go there for about 30 years! You'll have to tell me about it (and bring pictures) when we meet for drinks.
Hi Boatingman - I have not been on the cruise before but I am looking forward to using the workout facility. Do we get something in the mail about the classes they offer? I have read some trip reports were they discussed the classes they took but it would be nice to get something from Disney so I know what all is offered.
Heidi - where are you? Are you shopping yourself into exhaustion. I think you are going to need a spread sheet for the kiddos.
Tammy how was the tournament?
Tracey and I are having dinner and brunch at Palo's, I would like to have a 2nd brunch if anyone is interested let me know. Also if anyone would like to join us at dinner let me know and I'll add your name to the resv. I can't remember which night we decided on off hand. I think it was the regular rotation at AP.
Hope you are all having a great weekend.

I sure did have some catching up reading to do this a.m. - this board has been pretty productive!!
First of all - Welcome Boatingman!! Glad you found us!!
So glad to hear that Conny is safe and sound!! Sounds like the location was just incredible!!! all-inclusive...my favorite!!!
Heidi - sorry to hear about the break-in and them taking the "memories". That happened to my parents eons ago when my sis and I were little and of course, the video was really one of the few things to go.. They were of course heartbroken over it...
But SOOO cool about the new cam - I'm sure ya'll will put that to great use!
Linda - YIPPEE!! Sounds like you and your mom struck gold!! So glad to hear that you got alot accomplished! Isn't that a good feeling!! :Pinkbounc
Jason - so did you actually sign up with DCL for the Tram?? Was does that include? I must admit, I saw it, but didn't even really read it... But your other excursions sound like a BLAST!!! I'm sure you'll have a awesome time! So, did you end up picking up some snorkeling equip of your own?
Boatingman - from what I've read, you can bring a corkscrew (in your checked luggage).... I recently read that you cannot bring any opened drinks into the dining area (ie. glass of wine), but whether you can bring in an unopened bottle of wine with your corkscrew and open it there? I don't know.. maybe ************ knows that one.....First cruise for me, but am eager to try out the gym and maybe get in a exercise class or two...
HAve a great day!

jason-do you think it´s necessary to book the Paradise point with Disney? We were thinking to just go there and by the tickets at the station,it´s the same price.I´m glad ou were able to recreate our site,I would have missed it.I wouldn´t be able to do that.If something happens to my computer I go nuts and call severall people to help(they call me their DPU(dumbest possible user),but they do it nicely)

Good morning everyone!
I guess I should have checked the thread before I read my Sunday paper because now I'm behind! :teeth: And Heidi is really going to be behind when she gets back from her over-night shopping trip. :p
I booked the Paradise Point Tramway though DCL mainly for the convenience but this is by no means required or even needed. From what I remember, tickets for the cable cars are $15.00 right at the station as well but this way I can just pick up my tickets at the Excursion Desk and be ready to go. I think pre-booking or buying them once in port would work either way.
It sounds like everyone has all their plans in place for excursions! I think, between all of us, we're going to experience everything there is to do! We're kinda having a "collective, do-it-all, excursion"! ::yes::
Tracey--
Travis and I never made it shopping yesterday. We ended up doing housework and yardwork all day. Ugh! http://www.stupid-boy.com/smilies/otn/other/puh.gif We may make it today though.
Kathy--
I've never attempted to bring a corkscrew onboard the Magic before so this information was collected from the board: Some individuals state that you can request a corkscrew from room service and they'll bring one to your stateroom or you can have the bottle opened at any bar. Others state that they have packed corkscrews in their checked luggage, as Tracey mentioned, and have had no problem.
As far as the corkage fee goes, here is the info I posted on another thread concerning that subject:
All ready-to-drink liquor onboard is subject to a 15% automatic gratuity. It doesn't matter what type of liquor you buy (a glass of wine, a bottle of wine, a shot, a beer, or a mixed drink) or where you buy it onboard (at dinner, at Palo, at one of the bars, or on Castaway Cay). The 15% does not apply to alcohol that will not be consumed on the ship and is purchased from the duty free shop onboard.
As for the corkage fee:
1. It is a flat $15.00 plus the 15% gratuity for a total of $17.25.
2. This only applies to wine or champage that you do not buy directly from Disney Cruise Line (i.e. you bring it from home or buy it at a port of call).
3. The fee is basically a "service fee" to recover the cost of the service involved in handling a bottle of wine for which the restaurant (cruise line) is not making any money off of (since you didn't buy it from them).
[Here is the definition of corkage fee from the Everything Wine Book byDanny May and Andy Sharpe: If you go to a restaurant that serves wine but allows you to bring your own special wine, the restaurant will often charge an additional fee for bringing your own. This fee is called the corkage fee. It covers having the staff uncork and serve you your wine in the restaurant's wine glasses, which will be cleaned later by restaurant personnel. It also covers some or all of the profits not made on the wine you might have bought had you not brought your own.]
BTW, the above mentioned book is an excellent read. It really breaks wine and wine drinking down well and avoids the "uppity" atmosphere of many books on the subject.
4. Bottles of wine bought from Disney Cruise line (say, at Palo or any of the other restaurants) are not subject to the corkage fee but are subject to the 15% gratuity.
So, if you wanted to uncork a bottle of wine and enjoy it in your stateroom, or while wandering the ship, you wouldn't have to worry about the fee. However, if you wanted to have that wine at dinner and uncorked the bottle in your room and then brought it to dinner, the fee would still apply. However, I have heard of individuals brining a "glass" of wine to dinner without incurring the fee.

Jason & Tracey-
Thanks for the corkscrew info. I think I'll pack one just in case. Most likely I'll be drinking a little fufu drink with an umbrella while DH drinks has a beer.
Alice-
I have not heard anything about the excercise room except that the treadmills overlook the wheelhouse and there is minimal equiptment. I believe some of the classes are listed in the Navigator and other's you have to sign up for. Anybody else know?
FYI-I bought the suntan lotion today for the kids and some Tshirts for DH. Am I rushing it??
Conny & Silke-
My Brother & sister in law left for Germany today. Flying into Frankfurt(Ostheim on der Rohn). We have relatives there and up north too. I was there in 89-Drank too much schnapps but had a blast.
To the Cruise alumni with children-
Do the kids make a scene when you drop them off?? My son is shy and my daughter thinks she is an actress so I know she'll follow suit if he says he doesnt want to go in the club
I'm rambling...46 more days till WDW and 48 till the Magic!!

Well it looks like yet another weekend almost over which brings us that much closer to our meeting!!
Jason--Too funny about your Cd's of Disney getting left behind! Obviously they were looking for something a little more hardcore like Marilyn Manson? :hyper: We only have 1 excursion planned and that's the Doubloon in St. Thomas. I think in St Martin we are planning on just going to Orient Beach, renting some chairs and an umbrella and the just going shopping. We will probably spend a lot of the day on the Ship. Tanner doesnt seem to do to well if he's overstimulated so I think for us this is the best option. He is excited over going on a Pirate Ship though.
Linda--I think you win for the most shopping bags in one day! I would LOVE to have 20 bags of stuff!!! I keep trying to get out of here to get my shopping done but never seem to get around to it. The weather here is nice enough that we should be pulling out shorts and T-shirts. Maybe this week. I am very jealous of your shopping spree however!!!
Conny--Sorry to hear about the sunburn! I definitely get the "Baby" award when I get sunburned. Glad you were far enough away from Madrid! The all inclusive sounds nice! We did our first all inclusive in Cancun last year and it was SO nice!! I think we may take some time off from cruising and head to Cancun one of these years. It's funny that you checked this first...I do that all day long! I SHOULD go fold laundry but I wonder if someone else has posted! LOL :teeth:
Boatingman--(sorry I couldnt find your first name!) but if you can make it to the 3 pm meet that would be great! If not we understand!! The club registration takes about 15 min, the spa and Palo reservations take a little longer I've heard and then the eating and getting cocktails...THAT could take all day long! LOL About the kids and the clubs.....Tanner our 5 year old will have a hard time going into the club as well. That's one of the reasons I would LOVE him to meet someone from here so he would know someone and maybe go easier. We aren't above bribery at our house so for us it will be "if you go to the clubs then we will do _______" it usually helps! I may end up moving my 9 year old down to Tanner's 5-6 group for a day or so just so he could have someone he knew really well. Our older kids are excited. They have so many fun things for the kids to do...I think once we get them in there they will like it. I think the 5-6 group gets to make flubber in the lab and some other fun stuff. The other nice thing is the pager. You know if your child is having a fit they will page you and that's always good! Our kids have been told that there are 3 times they HAVE to go to the club---That's at 80's night for adults in the club, Palo night and when hubby and I do the massage on CC. Other than that we dont care either way.
Tracey--Sorry to hear the same thing happened to your parents losing memories as well. I was SO mad about the tape and the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream (I spent $$ and bought the GOOD kind and then they stole it). Oh well..now we make sure the alarm is on whenever we are going to be gone.
I've personally never ever made it to the gym on a ship! LOL And when you see me you'll know I havent! ROFL ::yes:: It makes me sick to run or walk the treadmill while the boat is rocking so I just go get tipsy on my own with a froo froo drink and sit back and look at all those poor people in there working out while I sit here and watch! LOL
I AM really far behind trying to get caught up in my all in one response!! I only took yesterday afternoon off and last night (had to get drunk and watch the local boys win their Basketball Tournament heading for the NCAA) but then I get on here today and WOW...lots o action!!!
Alice--no report from me on the shopping front! Maybe this week we will start getting it together! I just dont want to seem to over anxious! The Outlet stores in Park City are having a sale (especially Old Navy) so I am waiting for that big day to come along so I can go wade through the clothes with the other 10,000 shoppers!
Jason you managed to stump me on the countdown. The ONLY thing I could come up with is maybe it's 47 miles to the port! LOL I'm working on one too!!! I have 2 less days on my countdown so mine may be for 45 or 47....have to see what I can come up with!!
Well off to get a few belts under my belt before I have to go to the inlaws for Sunday Dinner!!! I will check in in a few hours! Dont get too carried away so I have to spend 20 min reading and catching up again! LOL:hug:

Your guess was close but it's more like 60 or so miles to the port from Disney.

We're home - The soccer tournament was great. Our girls played well, but didn't end up in the championship game. It was nice to get away for the weekend, but it is also nice to come home.
Can I gues the map riddle - Is it that the WDW property encompasses 47 square miles? Hopefully I'm not totallly off base:bounce:
Heidi - I don't have a clue about your riddle, but the picture is adorable. Sorry to hear about the break in at your house. It is terrible when memories are lost. Sounds like a bunch of kids with the food that they took.
Welcome to our new cruisers. Boy that 5-6 age group is growing by leaps and bounds. My DD, 5, loves to play with the boys, so watch out. She has a way of wrapping them around her little finger.:D
Conny - like to hear you made it home safely. What a tradegy in Spain.
For all of you shoppers out there, I jealous. I love to shop, but always have trouble finding things that fit. I think we are just about finished shopping. I need a new scarf and a pair of earrings and DH needs a new tie. I would also like to get a hat with a big brim. Don't want to get too much sun.
Jason - we'll be on the Golden Eagle Catamaran as well. Sounds like a great time. My DD's picked this excursion and we are all looking forward to it.
Gotta run - the van needs unloaded, It seems like we pack for a month when we go away for the weekend.:D
Take care everyone - 6 weeks and 3 days until we leave.

Hello all--
As it turns out, we did end up heading to the mall for a short time this afternoon/evening. We headed west to <a href="http://www.westfield.com/us/centres/florida/citruspark/">Citrus Park Shoppingtown</a> (they don't call them malls here anymore in Florida, go figure!) around 4 and stayed until about six.
We pretty much lucked out at J. C. Penney (which was having a great Saturday and Sunday sale) and bought 5 pairs of shorts and our tropical shirts for the Tropicalifragilisticexpialidocious Party. Then we headed over to the Disney store and got a few tee-shirts. (They too were having a good sale: two tees for $9 a pop.) And finally we stopped at Bath & Body Works and got our favorite shower gel "cruise" scent: Coconut Lime Verbena.
So, it looks like we're getting there and we've done all of this 47 days out. We're WAY ahead of schedule this time around! I think you guys have motivated us! :hyper:
Tammy--
You got the riddle! Yes, Walt Disney World is an amazing 47 square miles! That's as large as the city of San Francisco or as large as the island of Manhattan! As for Heidi's riddle, I'm totally lost on that one.
That's so cool that we'll be on the Golden Eagle together! You're on the morning sailing as well? I'm really looking forward to it. We've taken catamaran trips here in the bay area to see dolphins but it doesn't compare to the sparkling blue waters of the Caribbean. Really gald to see that we'll have Dis Company on the excursion!!! ::yes::
Heidi--
I tried a new martini tonight that you may want to pass along to Ryan. It's called an Absolut Vanilia Sour and is made with Absolut Vanilia. It's two parts Absolut Vanilia, one part simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water), and one part fresh lemon juice. It's not really a strong drink, which is probably why I like it, and it's sooooo yummy! :teeth:

Travis...close but no cigar!! You're right on track but different player and different team than the Utah Utes
Tammy--sorry to hear the girls didnt make the championship but I Hear you on it being nice to come home! Hopefully you got the van unloaded ok.
Jason--looks like we stumped each other on the riddles!!! This is alot of fun trying to find something that works..Ryan has one for a few days from now..it will be interesting to see if anyone gets is (I didnt and he told me what it was) and I still didnt get it!! The new martini sounds good and I dont even usually like martini's! Thanks for the heads up!!! I may have to go to the "candy store" tomorrow (that's what we call the liquor store so the kids dont know what it is) LOL
Hopefully this new clue will help..if not I will tell you later tomorrow!

Travis---You are correct! LOL I think I made the 2nd one too easy! It was all I could come up with!
All of you who have all of your shopping done and are so organized..will you do some for me as well??? I cant seem to get anything done in that department! Usually I am way overplanned by now and everyone makes fun of me....now my family is starting to panic a little bit because we are only 6 weeks out and I have NOTHING done! OH well guess I'll make them sweat some more. The weather here is supposed to be nice all week long :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Kathy - good question about the classes.. I'll check on Barb's ***************** site to see if an old Navigator has classes listed or what. I know I'll probably try to catch an aerobics class or walking class or seomthing like that.
Heidi - I'm with you on all-inclusives... I've done a handful (last year DS and I did one in Riviera Maya) and they're just soo convenient.. I was thinking the same - that perhaps DS and I may do one next.. And 80's night? Forgot about that.. talk about a blast from the past.. I may have to insist on Logan going to the Club that night too.. I haven't really talked to him about when he has to/doesn't have to go, because he just really seems interested in going and besides I told him whatever he wants to do is FINE with me.. but I know he will have to go one night when Alice & I do Palos and then during the day when we do Palos Brunch....
Tammy - glad you guys had a nice weekend getaway - sorry the girls didn't win the championship!
Yeah Jason & Travis -sounds like you guys made out with your shopping too!!! Awesome! And I must say that Vanilla sour martini sounds HEAVENLY! I might have to try that myself!!!!
Conny/Silke - Congrats on the discounts!I'm sure thats a huge relief off ya'll's back..
Alice & Heidi - we'll be anxious to hear how positive ya'lls shopping experiences go as well!!!!!! Hint... hint....

Tracey-----
I was looking at our old navigators from our 4 day a few years ago and at that time they had the following workout type things
Stretch and Relax at 7:30. Improve your flexibility and enhance your posture at the Vista Spa
Cardio Combat - A class of self-defense, dance and boxing combined to music from 8:00-8:45 am
Fat Burner Aerobics - 3:30 - Low impact, high calorie burning fun
Nutrition and Weight management - 4:30 - Learn how to lose weight with a healthier eating and lifestyle plan
Of course then there was the family dance party and the family line dancing which is good for the cardio system.
The next day they had the stretch and relax and then they had Dance Aerobics from 8-8:45.
11:00 they had a Detox for weight loss
3:00 they had sculpt and tone
On CC day they had
stretch and relax again
Wonder step from 8:00-8:45 for more fat burning fun
Yeah we had a blast at the all-inclusive Cancun resort but we didnt take the kids so we just got drunk and ate all day, sat by the pool and fools out of ourselves. It was nice though to not have to pull out a wallet for ANYTHING. All the food and entertainment was included and it was SO nice!
The 80's were my era when I was dating, in high school and dancing on a drill team. I loved them then and now! Maybe we can get Logan and Tanner together that first day and see if they can become friends to go together into the clubs. We are going to try to get a Palo Reservation but we may cancel if Tanner isnt doing well at the clubs.
As for shopping..maybe if I lose some weight I will get motivated? LOL
And the riddle...well if no one gets it later I will post the answer.

Thanks Heidi!!!!!!!!! Wow, some of those sound pretty interesting!! Do you know if you have to sign-up or just show up???
Sure, lets see if the boys hit it off.. Logan is exceptionally good when it comes to making new friends; he's shy in the beginning, but after a short while, loosens up. He's good at sharing, etc. too.. Of course, he's my kid so I'm gonna say great things about him...LoL.. but that would be cool if all the kids got along in that age group, although we may have to warn the boys about not getting wrapped around Tammy's DD's finger.. Lol!! thats too funny..
Have a great day!

Tracey--As far as I know it is just a show up if you want to show up kind of thing. At least that is how it was on our other cruises. We didnt have enough time to even breathe on that 4 day so I didnt go but it didnt say anything about signing up. Ryan and I did a yoga class once on another line and we just showed up and did it. They had all the stuff we needed and it didnt cost us anything.
Tanner is pretty good once he gets to know someone as well. He does really well in preschool and at our church classes too. He can get a little intense in the perfection area but he I think would LOVE to know someone going into the club. We'll have to get them all together that is for sure...if they had tons of friends it would be a lot more fun for them. On the 4 day we didnt have time for them to be in the clubs and my MIL had a cow at the thought of her not being in "charge" of the grandkids so we only put them in for about 30 min one night so we could eat dessert in peace. Now that he is older and in preschool I think he'll be a lot happier. I was telling him some of the activities that the "big 5 year olds" get to do and he was excited about some of them!!!
Tammy--your dd can wrap Tanner around her finger all she wants...at least then he'd have fun with someone!:teeth:

Good Morning,
Well, I tried to shop last night, but with no luck. All I wanted was a pair of sandals, a scarf and a pair of earrings. Sounds easy right, nope. Oh well, I'll try again this weekend. Kaitlyn has a 5 hour soccer training on Saturday and what does every good soccermom do during that time, SHOP!
Jason - that was my guess too about the movie picture. Glad to hear your shopping trip was successful. I still need to gey my DH a shirt for the tropical night, as well as a dress for my oldest DD.
Yes, we are booked on the AM catamaran excursion. That way we can enjoy the excursion in the morning, return to the ship for lunch, then explore and shop in the afternoon.
Tracey/Heidi - Brenna is so excited to meet Tanner and Logan. I hope they hit it off at the beginning. It will be great for them to have friends in the club. Brenna is looking forward to all the fun activities planned.
I was telling my girls about the room service and how they can order from them 24 hours a day. Brenna can hardly wait to pick up the phone and have them deliver chocolate chip cookies to our room :D
Conny - great news about your savings. I have heard many good things about YMJ.
Well, I am so depressed about the weather. They are calling for 2-6 inches of snow today. Let me say "I don't want anymore more snow!!!" Hopefully everyone else is enjoying nice spring weather.

Ok..one more time then I give up!!!
Jason--yes you and Tammy were right on the clue! It was done in 1946. Good job!!!
The boards have been so slow today that I actually had to go do laundry instead of sit here and read them! Of course the 20 min it took me to type out each reply helped a little bit!:teeth:
Tammy---Tanner is getting excited to meet some kids as well. I am sure he and Breanna and Logan and the others 5-6 year olds will give the camp counselors a run for their money this sailing! LOL I am one who is excited for the chocolate chip cookies from room service as well...they are so darn tasty! We usually order room service cheese and crackers while we are getting ready for dinner because we usually are starving. I love room service and actually wont stay anywhere at a hotel (except WDW hotels of course) that doesnt offer room service! LOL It drives Ryan insane.
I Hope you have luck shopping like all the good soccer moms do! LOL
Linda--I saw that doc thread as well and got all excited about it! We are ALMOST down into the 30 range for days...I LOVE that time! As bad as I want to go on this cruise...I kind of dont want it to come because then it will be over with. I'm so sorry to hear of the snow you received! That stinks!! We are finally all melted and it has been nice to have warm temps and sunshine! I dont envy you dealing with that but I'm sure we will deal with it at least 2-3 more times before spring really kicks in around here!!!
Jason---LOL about almost going into anaphalactic shock! I seriously have been trying to avoid doing laundry but when they keep going down or stay down I have to do it! Darn...I need a maid!! LOL
Well..off to get Miles from Scouts and to eat dinner!

Jason,
I have a shovel with your name on it, if you ever want to come up and see snow again. I can tell you that us up here in the north only wish it was a figment of our imagination, and with the first day of spring this Saturday then to look outside of my office and see it snowing, I can only daydream of a time that I will be either on the Magic or retired to a much warmer place. Wow, when I day dream I also ramble, so sorry.
I have to tell everyone that unfortunately I wasn't in my office yesterday, because I had the greatest clue. I was driving in northern Michigan and happened to drive by a sign that said I was crossing the 45th parallel, and all I could think of was 45 days till we cruise and what a great clue that would have been. I guess I am obsessed with this cruise.
I also still have to get Jason my information for the website, sorry it has taken me so long, but I have also been planning a work trip to Vegas (Heidi, would you like me to look for your lost article of clothing? If I found it I could return it to you on the cruise.) two weeks before we cruise. So, Jason I will get that to you shortly.

The roman numeral for 44 is, indeed, XLIV. I thought that would actually stump everyone but I see that my riddle-creating skills need improvement for this group! And yet, we still have yesterday's??? :D
Belle and Rella's Dad--

Hello All!
FYI-Another snowy day here in Long Island NY . Just a little messy right now but another 4-7 inches of snow predicted. Can't wait for vacation.
I picked up an over the door shoe bag for 50 cents. Wha Hoo!That and the T shirts and Lotion I purchased the other day is the extent of my shopping so far. Anybody have any advice to get me going please let me know. I got a Speigel catalog, circled a few things with a marker and then decided that I really didnt need them.
I don't get any of the riddles but I came closer last time. I at least knew it was a Roman Numeral.
Question.... What is 80's night you all keep talking about? Is it early 80's or late 80's?

Allison, too cute about Noah!! My ds 6 (Robbie) is the same way, he is soooo excited. He has even built "models" (out of cardboard boxes) of the plane, bus and ship. They are actually pretty darn good, but of course I have to think that, I am his mom afterall!! For the ship he used little red Pringles cans for the stacks and made the Mickey slide out of masking tape, lol. My dd 3 is also totally excited, and anytime she sees a picture of ANY ship, she will scream/shriek at the top of her squeaky little lungs "the cruise, the cruise, look mommy, the cruise" lol
Conny, I am jealous! I have never had a Latte machiatto, but Caramel machiattos are my absolute FAVE!! I am really hoping that the Cove Cafe has them.
Jason, thanks for giving my interpretation of your riddle the nod of approval, even though I was way off base, lol. And thanks for the link to the article, it was very interesting!!
Did you guys see that a Las Vegas hotel was hit with the Norwalk virus?? Maybe now people will stop calling it the cruise ship virus!!
Have a great day, we are getting closer and closer!!!!

Oh my gosh! 80's night, and all the other themed nights (60's, 70's) as well, are a total hoot! :teeth:
The "Disney Magic Cruise Entertainment Staff", as they fondly refer to themselves, come out all dressed up as popular figures from each time period. I won't give away which ones as it's fun to experience for yourself. Of course they play music from that period and they do all the popular dances from that time too. For instance, one evening opens up with the "Time Warp" from Rocky Horror Picture Show. The staff attempts to get everyone up on the stage and dance floor doing these dances.
Then they do contests based on dances. Like who can do the Twist the best, The Mash Potato, and on and on and on...
(I usually hide in the back row and just watch. Of course, you have to be ready to bolt out of Rockin' Bar D at a moments notice as the entertainment staff will drag you up on stage. Even if you're kicking and screaming!

Hello everyone!!! The weather here has been way to nice to sit indoors on the computer surprisingly! I did a little spring cleaning yesterday and FINALLY had my kids try on all of their clothes. I dont think I'll need to buy too much for them!! SO here is my "all-in-oner" message for this morning! It's going to be long!
Belle & Rella---I would put Jason to work with a snow shovel as well...it's not fair that he hasnt seen snow for 11 years! I saw how much snow the Eastern half of the country got and I was SO glad I lived West right then! I HATE snow! I do like to drink water though so I shouldnt complain right??? As for looking for my missing article of clothing...you could see if MGM has a lost and found from Tom Jones shows! LOL That would be awesome! What are you doing in Vegas??? Fun or Business??? I could live in Vegas in the winter but not the summer! It's a great place to go play and only 5 hours from my house (it's a little closer than it probably should be) but I'm jealous! If you have time and it interests you you should go to the Bellagio Art Gallery! I'm sure it's changed by now but when we went it was all works from Monet! They were amazing!! Your cruise sign is cool as well!
Alison--My kids ask me incessantly every day how much longer! We werent even going to tell them about it until the first of April but it got the best of us at Christmas when the kids didnt get much so we broke down and told them. Of course they were ticked it was so long away...but they get more excited every day! Tanner I think is still a little young to get excited about 4 hours on a plane and so he's a little nervous but it's ok!
I have enough excitement for anyone that's for sure! We are down to the 30's as of tomorrow...which I never thought we'd see!
Jason that news article was very interesting! It's funny but the one place I never did worry about getting attacked was on a cruise ship. Maybe because we were in Disneyland when the 9-11 stuff happened and being away from home in a pretty likely target (disneyland/disneyworld) was really scary! We had to extend our stay at DL for 4 extra days (darn it really stunk! LOL) and Disney let us in for all those days for free when our Park Passes ran out..we just had to show them our airline tickets every day to prove we were indeed supposed to have gone home on 9-12 and they let us in for free! But a cruise is one place I never really thought about having a problem! I guess I'm just naive!
Kathy-sorry to hear about the snow! I'm in my capri's and short sleeved shirt with sandals today! :earseek: So I definitely feel for you! Good job on the over the door holder! I dont know how we would have survived without ours! I have kind of the same problem getting motivated to go shopping like you! I told Ryan he had to MAKE me go this weekend and get it started at least! Cant have naked kids running all over on the cruise now can we? LOL When we went to 80's night they did "skits" (kind of like) so they had a skit of Michael Jacksons' Bad with the rival gangs and did stuff like that. It seems like it encompassed songs from each part of the 80's early, middle and late but I cant really remember! It was alot of fun though! They also do one for the 70's as well and they have people come up and be the Village people and stuff! Hope that kind of helps although I'm sure Jason or Travis can tell you more about it! We didnt stay through the whole thing but just peeked in for a minute. Are you taking a limo from your house or to the port??? We have a limo from Port Orleans Riverside to the port and back. Cant wait! It was our 1 and only splurge! The kids are so excited about the free pop and dvd! LOL
Tracey---It's 70 here today and supposed to be mid 70's tomorrow and almost 80 by Saturday and Sunday! I LOVE SPRING! LOL My teen years started in the 80's as well and I am still hooked on them! I love the music from them still!! Also if you go to Barb's site she has pics of the 80's and 70's nights...here is the link to her site..just click on the pictures button and then click on 70's or 80's night...it will give you a feel for it at least
http://www.*****************/
Her site always gets me pumped up about going!! (not that I need much help!)
Conny---I think we have 40 days today or just under 6 weeks til we leave as well and I cannot wait!!! LOL I do dread the flight although it's nothing like your flight! Tanner does NOT do well on airplanes for very long..so I think we may get kicked off the plane as soon as we touch down! I plan to start the packing process (at least the organization of it) in about 3 weeks. I gotta go get my ziploc bags for all the kids stuff (so much easier) and get stuff ready! We are basking in 70 degree weather here so I cant complain!
Linda--The models Robbie makes sound really cute! Tanner draws pictures of it all the time and even did a pretty good interpretation of a Mickey Mouse! Like you as his mom I thought they were good!
We heard about the Vegas thing but I didnt hear which hotel it was! Glad I'm not down there! LOL
Well I'm off to preschool and lunch with Ryan! Take care everyone!

Hi folks. We think we're going to be on the Magic for the May 1 sailing. DD is a CM (hence the name) so we're waiting for her discount which is space available...and that hasn't been posted. For obvious reasons, Disney wants to get as many full fare customers as possible before they open up the crew discounts. No telling what room we'll have. We just want to go.
FYI, I'm DW Reine, DH is Paul, we'll be sailing with my DD, Mom and Aunt.
For all you guys with kids, unfortunately the very best Youth Counselor in the Club (well I may be slightly prejudiced) will be ending her contract on May 1 so your kids won't have her but from what she tells me the rest are almost as good as she is. The activities she's talked about leading sound like loads of fun, and the kids really love the pirate: theme in the Club.
I'm envious of all of you who've done shopping and are getting ready to pack. Haven't bought a thing but will talk to DD this weekend to see what she recommends.
Since we aren't even officially booked yet, this will definitely be one vacation that has a spontaneous element.
Just found this thread today. Do you have any IDEA how LONG it takes to read through it.
DD's favorite places are St. Thomas and Castaway Cay and she's been on the ship since Feb 1.
For those of you who are interested, the requirements when she applied for the job as a Youth Counselor were a college degree in a related field and at least two years experience working with groups of kids. So far she's having a ball.
Glad to hear everyone is having such fun planning their cruise.
BTW, the weather here in Plano was 82 this afternoon. We had to turn the air conditioning on. That's fine cause I'm ready for summer.

Hello and welcome CM_Mom!
Is the thread really that long?!?! ;) I guess you have to attribute it to the level of excitement among the Disney Magic May 1st Cruisers. It's like we can't sit still and we pour all of that hyperactive energy into our computer keypads! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:
I've been watching this cruise for Florida Resident Rates as well. I actually booked at the Early Booking fare several months ago but am still hoping that they will release the Florida discount and that we can switch our reservation to that. I usually call DCL every day now just to be sure. From what the reservation cast members have been telling me, DCL is waiting until spring break is over to see how full the cruise is. At this point, from what they say, there is still plenty of room on our sailing so we may have a good chance!
Well, we're glad you found the thread and again, welcome!

Oh my god,jason-you messed up my make-up.I had to laugh so hard that tears were running down. That can happen to me ocassionaly,so beware.Don´t make me laugh to much, specially during dancing in the evenings.
Hello CM_Mom,a very welcome from Germany.
Heidi- are you staying at the Port Orleans Riverside before the cruise?Silke and I had to switch from CBR to POR for the 5 nights before the cruise(82,-$ instead of 144,-$).If so,we might have a chance for a quick Gin tonic at the River Roost Bar on Friday to start the cruise in a happy way? What do you think?
OK,5 weeks is a little bit early to start packing, but at least I will get my suitcase out of the cellar and put it in my bedroom to look at it each morning.Well, maybe I put the snorkel stuff and a towel in it!
Have a nice weekend everybody. It´s raining here and really stormy,so it´s the couch and a book for me.:wave2: :wave2:
Lots of greetings from germany

Finally some sun here- in the 40's. Thought I'd catch up. Forgive me if I forget anybody but I have a hard time with names.
First of all Welcome to THE THREAD CM mom! Hope you'll be able to join us
Tracey- Thanks for the 80's night info. Sounds like a blast. I can relive my wasted youth!
Alice- I went shopping again. Brought home 5 pairs of shorts on Thurs. returned 5 pairs of shorts on Friday. I think I'm in trouble:rolleyes:
Heidi-
Thanks to the link for 80's night. Since I was in my prime in the 80's (compared to now) it should be fun.
Jason-
Thank you for the 80's night info and the snake/mushroom thing I the article all very interesting & the gofer thing was Hysterical. My kids are now singing or should I say chanting it in the car as I drive. Funny.
Conny-
It's about time you have some bad weather!!!! Only kidding, but remember you'll be vacationing sooner than us all so you dont have that long to go:sunny:
Linda-
My daughter also screams Its the Disney Cruise when she sees a ship on TV. I dont have the heart to tell her its actually a comercial for Celebrity Cruises.
I think my first drink will be either a Rum Runner or a Margarita. Anybody else dreaming out there?

HELLO EVeryone!!!!
Reine----great that you found our novel thread!! Hope you can join us...I'm sure we're going to be great fun!! Some of us *:teeth: * may get kicked off before it's over but it will be fun!!! When we started this thread we had over 210 days til we left and now we are down to 39 for our family as of today! I cant wait!!!! It does get pretty long though!!! That's too bad your DD wont be in the camp but I'm sure others will be there that will be ALMOST as fun as your DD! LOL
Tracey--The 80's night sounds like a lot of fun doesnt it??? Great time to get a little "loaded" and maybe even some liquid courage as me and Ryan like to call Gin! LOL
Conny-Yep staying from April 28 to May 1 at the Port Orleans! It's a great place for our family since we dont have to pay the Deluxe Resort Price for Polynesian but we can all still fit in 1 room with the trundle! I love it there!!!! Boatrights and the food counter are really good!!! It would be great to meet up on Friday night for a little "liquid refreshment" and we should definitely plan on it. I think Friday we are going to go MGM all day long or for as long as we can stand it. We aren't going to buy hopper passes as it is a waste of money for us for only 2 days use so we are going to do MK on Thursday and MGM on Friday. When we were there last time it POURED rain the day we went to MGM and it was miserable and cold. Tanner and I came back to the Poly before everyone else and I sat with the blow dryers on trying to get all of our pants dry while the rest of them stayed to see the Indiana Jones adventure! We plan on going back to the hotel every night and just chilling by the pool or something. MK is open til I think 9:30 on Thrusday night and MGM is open until 8:30 on Friday night so we will probably do that! We should get together though!
Kathy--Glad you saw the link! It was a lot of fun while we were there but we only saw maybe 10 min of it but what we saw was hilarious!!!
Jason--That website was SO annoying! LOL All I can think now is badger, badger...ugh!!!! Must go do something to get that thought out of the brain..maybe something like slaughtering a pig?? LOL JUST KIDDING!
Goofy---I know..I refused to let my kids see it otherwise they would be driving me insane!!
Well you'll all be happy to know we are all cruise-wear set! I got it ALL done today!! We all have some new duds to wear along with the old duds! I have all the sunblock and aloe vera gel and I'm now starting on airplane toys for the kids!!
Well off to enjoy the 75 degree day!! It was 80 yesterday and 75 today..perfect day to wash and wax the ol' suv!
Laters!

Happy First Day of Spring -
Since we had 5 inches of snow yesterday so Kaitlyn's soccer training was cancelled, so we spent the day at a cheerleading competition instead.
We CM-Mom to our thread. Hopefully you will be able to join us. How wonderfult to have a DD that is a CM.
Conny - Have you ever stayed at PO before? My favorite resort is CBR (love the beach). I tried to talk my family into PO for Friday night, but got voted down, they want to stay at HIFS. Our flight doesn't arrive til 10am Friday morning, so we decided not to do a Disney park. My girls love the pool and children activities at HIFS. Not to mention the free breakfast and the kids have their own bedroom. We plan on spending the evening at Downtown Disney.
Did a little shopping today - got a scarf for semi-formal night, pair of shorts and DH got his tropical shirt.
I can't wait to start packing - I was thinking of getting the suitcases out tomorrow, but DH was too early. Guess I'll wait another week or so.
Anxiously counting down the days

Hi Reine - glad you found us, sounds like you are going to have a great time. Must be nice to have your own personal cruise director:D I was really surprised by their application requirements. How long does a contract last? Did your DD rotate to WDW also or was she hired just for the cruise line? I'm bummed to hear your DD's favorite is St. Thomas because I booked a day sail that lasts from 9:00 to 4:00 so we won't get to see much of it:( sounds like a reason to rebook to me::yes::
BTW I wanted to let you know that you broke the 1st commandment of this thread. Thou shall not taunt heat deprived posters on thou's 1st post;)
Just back from the lovely city of Peoria, IL for the Boys Class AA State Championship (basketball that is) (the original March Madness) We came up short wah, wah, wah - I hate losing. Maybe I need to do some shopping tomorrow to get my spirits back up, since I can't count on the weather like some fortunate people on the thread.
Kathy did buying the shorts make you feel better? I'm leaning toward Pina Colada of Miami Vice (reminds me of when I lived in Miami) and life was warm.:sunny:
Well, you all I hope your weekend is going well.
Talk to you soon.

Hi Alice, DD is doing her first contract for 14 weeks, then probably 5-7 off before going back for another 14-18 weeks. She was hired specifically for the cruise ship Youth Counselor position. After passing all the background and medical checks (everywhere she ever lived and a full physical with x-rays and drug tests) she was given her choice of ships and age groups. She usually works with 3-4s but worked with 5-7s the last two weeks to help balance the staffing.
Last time she was in St. Thomas she got to do the St. John Barefoot Catamaran Sail and Snorkel on her time off. She loved it except she got a sunburn on the Catamaran. Forgot the sunscreen.
Sorry about the taunting. But this is the first really springlike weather we've had. So I pulled weeds in the yard all day. Hmmm, maybe I lke it better cold when I sit in the den with a fire.
Talked to DD today and she seems pretty confident that we'll get to cruise, just not sure if it will be the Magic or the Wonder. But I'll take the uncertainty for the discount. I'm really cheap. We're also planning to go to WDW for a couple of days after the cruise.
Seeing all the messages about shopping reminds me that I haven't even STARTED planning what to bring. All my summer stuff is still in the out of season closet. Guess it's time to get it out and make plans. Seems like I feel a shopping trip coming. What fun is a cruise without something new. (Husbands are not required to understand...just accept)
Alice, sorry about the tournament results. Someone always has to lose but we never want it to be our kids. However they're really a bunch of winners if they made it to the State Championships.

Ok you gyus, all this talking about shopping made me finally decide to byu my first digital cameras. Also I´m working with photographers every day,,,up till now I´d refused to touch one.
But a little surfing at Ebay did it.Just in case I totally mess up,I will bring my old normal cameras as well.
Tammy-Silke and I stayed at the Port Orleans French Quater in November 2000 for our one and only trip to WDW.That´s why I wanted to try the CBR this time.We allready had a reservation for it but Nanci came up with a very good deal for the Riverside,so we decided to switch. We love this boatrides to DD,specially in the evening.
Heide-we definitly should meet on Friday. We were planning on goint to Epcot, but I´m not sure if we are going to watch Illumin ations a second time.We will be at the Riverside from the 26,so I could leave a message for you at the guest service with our room number and we´ll try to work something out over the phone. How does this sound?
BYE for now

Conny what kind of camara did you get? Did you know what price you could buy it at a store before you bid? I have never gone on E-Bay. I am trying to decide between a digital camara or a digital video camara, I should probably go out and buy Camaras For Dummies before I decide.
I so want to book a couple of nights in WDW. I try to justify it but keep coming up short. Linds will be missing 2 basketball tournaments and a week of school. You all will have to do a trip report on the land portion of your trip and of course someone will have to eat at Teppanyaki's for us and someone will have to have a kiwi/original margarita in Mexico for me and a nice glass of wine in Germany and some Yaki Gori in Japan and definitely Rice Pudding in Norway and if you don't mind a Kir Royal in France :hyper:
It's going to be a whopping 34F today but with 25 MPH winds that should give us a wind chill effect of the low teens:mad:
Well good shopping or whatever to you all,

Good Morning Everyone - can you believe we are at the 39 day mark. The time is flying by.
Conny - great job with the digital camera. We have one as well, but I can;t bring myself to use all the time. I guess I'm a die hard 35mm gal. The photos from my digital don't seem to be as good as the ones from our 35mm. I know its just me, I really don't understand all the mege pixels and such, and then what do I do with the pictures once I take them. I'm so technology challenged  However, I do love the fact that you can delete the bad pcitures and see the outcome of the picture right away. Ohh - I love that boatride to DTD. Last time we stayed there we rented a pontoon boat and drove over to DTD - so much fun!!
Reine - sounds like your DD has a wonderful job. We'll keep our fingers crossed that you are able to sail on our cruise.
Alice - sorry about the basketball results - what an accomplishment to make it that far. We had one local team who was supposed to play in the beginning round of states - they decided to have a party to celebrate their success - someone brought alcohol, they party got out of hand, neighbors called the police and 3/4 of the team was suspended for underage drinking. They had to forfeit their game. Such a shame that these kids think they need alcohol to have fun.
Hope you are having a good weekend - still cold hear, but hope is on the horizon with warmer temps on the way.

Hope everyone had a nice shopping-filled weekend! lol... I haven't done a lick of shopping this weekend, but did do tons of cleaning...yuck!
Conny - very cool about your cam! I got one for Xmas and I LOVE it... it can actually take dig movies too, but I think I'm also going to bring along my video recorder... Enjoy it!
Kathy - I actually had a few Bahama Mamas last night and I must say that got me dreaming about the cruise.. What a tasty drink! That may be a fav of mine for the cruise too, but I imagine I'll want to try some new ones!!
Heidi - YEAH for getting ALL your shopping done - good feeling, eh?? And your weather, well, sounds HEAVENLY!!
I also have to pick up a few airplane toys for Logan although, he's got his Gameboy and I imagine that might just keep him occupied for our 2 hour flight...at least, thats what I'm hoping!!
Tammy - Yuck about the snow!! especially on the first day of spring!! We had nice weather yesterday - mid 60's and sunny!!
I too am anxious to start packing.. I've got my suitcases all lined up along my basement wall to look at every time I go down there!!
Alice - Hope you are able to get some shopping done today! I know that always helps to lift MY spirits!!!
Reine - I agree, I think shopping/new clothes is definetly synonymous (?sp) with VACATION!! Not that I need an excuse to shop, just a rationalization for it!!!lol.
All this talk lately about WDW has me thinking about going there next year... I haven't been in a good 15 years or more and DS hasn't been, so I think you all have helped to make up my mind about next years vacation! Thanks!!
Have a nice day everyone!

Wow! Looks like almost everyone will be sporting a digital camera on the cruise! Should make for lots of great photos to post on the net when we return from our sailing.
I too just purchased my first digital camera over the holiday season. I love photography and have a trusty 35mm Minolta Maxium SLR that I wouldn't leave home on a cruise without but I wanted to experience the "new wave" in picture taking. :)
I bought an entry-level 2.1 megapixel Nikon Coolpix. It's pretty easy to operate and takes pretty good pics for a $200 camera. I still think traditional film is going to be my medium of choice but the digital stuff is fun too!
On Saturday we were pleasantly surprised to find a confirmation letter for our shore excursions in the mail. Looks like we should be receiving our cruise docs soon. Perhaps this week!!! :hyper:
Conny and Heidi--
You guys are really lucky to be staying at Port Orleans before the cruise! It's actually one of my favorite resorts at Disney. I haven't stayed there since they "merged" Port Orleans with Dixie Landings. I wanted the two resorts to stay as separate entities but, as usual, Disney did not consult with me prior to making that decision! What are they thinking about making such a move without talking to me first!?!?! :p LOL
Anyway, maybe Travis and I will meet you guys up there on Friday. Oh wait, I shouldn't say that as we'll probably be running around the Tampa Bay area taking care of all the cruise details that we neglected up to that point. :)

Happy Sunday to everyone!!! I hope you all had a nice weekend!
Tammy--so sorry to hear about your snow! The cheerleading competition sounds like it was pretty fun though!!! I brought the suitcases out of retirement and started "freshening" them up..used a little febreeze on the inside to get it smelling nice! LOL That was all Ryan allowed me to do for at least another week!:earseek:
Good job on getting the scarf and the shirt! I said I was all done but I KNOW me and I will go buy more more more!
Alice-Sorry to hear about the boys losing their tournament! I hate that when it happens! Maybe you need to back out here to get some nice weather again...we're kicking butt and taking names in the weather department right now. Of course I brought Tanner home from the hospital on the April 9th we had 12 inches of snow to wade through. When I was in labor my water broke playing golf...go figure! And hey if you came out here we could drink those froo froo drinks together AND enjoy the warmth! ;) We have a digital still camera I think it's a Canon elph something (dont use it much...I suck at picture taking just ask my hubby) and we just bought a Digital Video Camera that actually can take digital still photos as well and uses a seperate Memory card for it! It's also very tiny!! Here's a link to what it looks like
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000899VM/102-1375429-0789744?v=glance
and Amazon is offering it for 279.00 right now with the rebate.
When are you flying into Orlando?? Friday night?? Our kids are missing 8 days of school...but I dont care!
***I say that we do a little mini-meet on Friday night if anyone is interested...for those of us who will be there...then of course we will do the meet on Sat at 3 at the pool...and then lunch on Sunday or something but if anyone is interested in meeting Conny and us at POR let me know!***
Conny---Leaving a message for me would be great! I dont know what time Illuminations get's done but I'm sure we could meet somewhere after it gets over with...maybe someone else will know about what time it's over and we could plan to meet an hour or so later then you could do that and we could get in a swim with the kids...but whatever is easiest for you..it would be great fun to meet up and we should try to figure it out!
We leave in 5 weeks and 3 days..HOLY CRAP! It's getting so exciting!
Tracey- It is a really nice feeling to get it all done and finished but I know I will still do more! Tanner has a gameboy too but we screwed up big time and bought them an X-Box for Christmas and so now the gameboy's are obsolete  I think I will just get lots of crayons and some other things to keep him busy! I think we will also bring Ryan's laptop and bring Cat in the Hat and a few other movies he can watch. At least each way since it's far enough we will get dinner so that will help break up some of the time I guess. I dread flying with my kids though because they suffer so bad with ear pain and pressure when they start the descent down. We usually have all 3 kids bawling and wigging out! I've tried a zillion different things to help but so far nothing has. I'm going to try starburst and those ear numbing drops this time and pray it helps! I guess the one good thing is that it's only one descent instead of a few if we werent going non-stop. Congrats on the cleaning! I should have been cleaning but instead I went and had a massage and hung out outside trying to start getting a tan! LOL I'm starting the tanning booth this week! One more exciting thing to think about!
Jason---I LOVE POR as well! We stayed at the Poly last time before the cruise and then POR afterwards and I actually liked POR better than the poly. I love the themes in the rooms and the kids LOVED the swimming pool. I also loved the food court area..it seemed to have a lot more to choose from! I definitely think you should come down and meet with us on Friday night! I bet we wont meet til 9 or so...you should be able to get it done by then shouldnt you?? LOL I love our digital camera! The pictures are nice and all the pictures Ryan takes of me I can delete before they get printed  But I do like our Nikon 35mm as well. I'm psyched about our video recorder though!!!
Well it's time for me to go make dinner! Hope everyone is doing well. So sorry for the long posts..but I cant seem to make them short no matter how hard I try!!

Evening all--
I just found this posted on another thread and thought I would share it with everyone.

In St. Thomas, we spent much of the day at Megan's Bay and then did some shopping. Cab rates to Megan's Bay were fixed at $6/pp plus an entry fee of $3 to go to the beach. You can go there on a ship's excursion, but it is much, much cheaper to do it on your own. Beach chair rentals were available for $6 plus a refundable deposit. You need to move the chairs yourself. There is a decent (although kind of slow) beachfront restaurant w/ decent burgers and pizza. On the pricey side. They also have a great bar that makes what I decided is the best tasting frozen drink on the planet - a Bushwhacker, which I understand is a famous St. Thomas drink. Mostly Bailey's Irish Cream w/ vodka or rum (they used vodka at this bar, but apparently use rum elsewhere), Khaluha, amaretto, brandy, pineapple juice, coconut milk, blended w/ ice. Ground nutmeg on top. Consistency of a milkshake, but no where near as sweet as a pina colada. Phenomenal!
After reading Dannyb's description, I'm definitely not going to miss a Bushwhacker now!!! ::yes::

Thanks everyone for the condolences. It's so disappointing because they were ranked 1st in the state and 6th in the nation by U S A Today for the 2nd year in a row (we did come in 1st in 2000) but there's always next year.
Thanks Heidi for the link that is exactly what I'm looking for, a video that can take stills. I thought it was going to cost and arm and a leg but that's a great price.
I think we are flying in Friday night, I screwed up and waited too long to book the airfare so I'll probably wait to see if I can get a last minute deal. We will most likely stay off site as it costs too many points for Friday and Saturday at BWV or BCV. Although I have wanted to stay at GF for a while, maybe I'll check rates and availability tomorrow. It's driving both of us nuts not going to WDW this year:crazy:
Later,

Hi everybody, just a short post today, went to the dentist and now it HURTS!!!!
I want lauging gas and drugs!!!!
Alice-its a canon Ixus 430 with 4 megapix and stuff,no idea.A photographer recommended it it comes to 377,-€ and I didn´t auction for it,bought it directly from a dealer, but it was cheaper than in all the shops in town.I´m not sure I can handle it so I will take my trusted Pentax and normmanl APS Ixus with me.3 cameras,I´m nuts, but who cares.
Heide-if we stay for Illuminations,we would not be back to POR till 9.45.If thats to late we probably skip it,because we watch it on Tuesday anyway.
God,my teeth hurt so bad,I think I´ll go back and get me some drugs.
Bye conny

All this talk of dentist visits makes me nervous. If there is one thing that I am deathly afraid of in this world, it would have to be the dentist. It’s a phobia, I think!
Now I’m going to have to go listen to the Badgers song so that I can get this imagery of the dentist out of my head. ;)

Happy Start to the week to everyone! I hate Monday's but in 6 more Monday's I'll be on a cruiseship...:sunny:
Alice- We shopped around all over the internet and only found it to be about 20 dollars more from Amazon than what we got it for on E-bay Auction. It's tiny but I think it's a pretty good camera. Hey if you are going to fly in on Friday you only need a room for that 1 night since we get on the ship on Saturday. I looked at POR for you and a room there with us and Conny would only cost you 140 for the night....and then you can party with us!:teeth:  :Pinkbounc ::yes::
Grand Floridian is very pricey according to Disney--like 400 bucks for the one night they said! You could do it so cheap and come with us at POR for the evening!!
I cant believe we leave in 5 weeks! That is awesome! Only 37 days for us now!! YYEESS
Conny--
So sorry to hear about your dental troubles and the pain! Like Jason I HATE the dentist! I dont know how you do it without gas (of course if it isnt an option then I guess you just do) but I am actually thinking about trying a new dentist concept here in town that will knock me out completely and do all my dental work in one fell swoop! They use anesthetic and just put a block in your mouth and fix it all at one time! But I hate dentists so bad I dont know if I will make the appt or not. What did you have done that made them hurt so bad??? As for meeting after Illuminations...either way is fine. For us 9:45 in Florida is actually only 7:45 for us here in Utah and I would doubt the kids will be ready for bed by then anyway but if they are I'd just leave Ryan with them and run down for a quick hello but whatever you want to do is fine! Just let me know!! I hope your mouth gets feeling better!!!!
Jason--I hate the dentist too! Just the mention of them sends me running!! I need 3 crowns but dont want to go through with having them done! I think I'll just go listen to the badger song too!!
LOL Goofy---maybe you should come on OUR cruise with the partiers! LOL Then you could really get us all with your kids and the badger song! On second thought..no just bug Jason!
I am off to the dermatologist! We got in our hot tub last weekend and apparently the chemicals were off and I got a nasty awful case of Hot Tub Folliculitis and I cant get it to go away! I look like I have the chicken pox!!! They are painful and itchy and gross looking so I'm going to go get some Antibiotic cream for them!!! Take care all of you!

NILSSON HARRY LYRICS
COCONUT LYRICS
Brother bought a coconut, he bought it for a dime
His sister had another one, she paid it for a lime.
She put the lime in the coconut, she drank them both up
She put the lime in the coconut, she drank them both up
She put the lime in the coconut, she drank them both up
She put the lime in the coconut, she called the doctor, woke him up,
And said, "Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take,
I say, Doctor, to relieve this belly ache?
I say, Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take,
I say, Doctor, to relieve this belly ache?"
"Now let me get this straight ",
Put the lime in the coconut, you drank them both up
Put the lime in the coconut, you drank them both up
Put the lime in the coconut, you drank them both up
Put the lime in the coconut, you called your doctor, woke him up,
And say, 'Doctor, ain't there nothing I can take,
I say, Doctor, to relieve this belly ache?
I say, Doctor, doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take,
I say, Doctor, dooooctor, to relieve this belly ache?'
Put the lime in the coconut, drink them both together,
Put the lime in the coconut, then you feel better,
Put the lime in the coconut, drink them both up,
Put the lime in the coconut, and call me in the morning
Wouh wouh wouh wouh wouh
Brother bought a coconut, he bought it for a dime

You put the lime in the coconut, drink them both up,
You put the lime in the coconut, drink them both up,
Put the lime in the coconut, you such a silly woman!,
Put the lime in the coconut, drink them both together,
Put the lime in the coconut, then you feel better.
Put the lime in the coconut, drink them both down

Thanks Heidi - I've had that song in my head all day!!!! But at least its a fun song and not quite as irritating as the Badger song!!!!! (thanks Jason and WIPE us off your CD distribution list PLEASE!!!!)lol.....
Heidi - sure hope your kids do okay on the plane.. Have you tried those things called Ear Planes? I bought some before Logan's first flight a few years ago, but fortunately we didnt' need them. I had heard really great things about them though..
Logan got a Playstation 2 for Xmas and I know what you mean about the GAmeboy being not quite as "interesting". But he's got a few games and I'll also take my portable CD player so taht he can rock out on his Veggie TAles Cd!!! LOL... Cool about the tanning and the massage - believe me, I would have rather had that done than spent the day cleaning, but with the way my basement looks now, it was worth it! I had considered the spray tan a few times before our trip, but just picked up a bottle of selftanning lotion last night.. seems WAY cheaper..
Oh and sorry to hear about your hot tub folliculitis - sure hope you're feeling better!
Jason - I have a Coolpix too! I love it..its soooo small and portable, I just keep it with me all the time cuz its so convenient.. So, it sounds like there will be ALOT of digital pics running around out there!!!LOL.. ANd yes, that bushwacker sounded Mighty Tasty!! Can't wait!
Conny - sorry about your tooth aches!! Dentists are no fun thats for sure, I guess unless you're married to one!!! :p

Yes I am shouting - my cruise documents came via UPS today. I can't begin to tell you how exciting this is.
Today is Kaitlyn's 12th birthday - I told her they came this early in honor of her!
Since this is my first cruise, I didn't know what to expect. I thought they would be larger (like 8 1/2 x 11), never expected them in a smaller box, thought it was just and video from DCL.
Jason - thanks so much for thinking of us with a badger CD - I'm sure my girls would love to come to your stateroom and play it over and over and over for you.
Ok - The lime in the coconut should be our thread theme song. It has the "favor" to keep us going through the next several weeks until we all meet.
With all the digital talk - I got my camera out. Thought maybe I'd try to figure it out before we cruise - now I can't find the manual - oh geesh. THe only thing I can do without the manual is turn it on.
Take care everyone - here's hoping that everyone gets thier docs soon!

Whooo hoooo Tammy!!!! Thanks for letting us know you got your docs. It is really getting real now!!! I have a little odds and ends shopping to finish up, but other than that, we are READY!!!
I am also a little concerned about how my kids will handle the flights, as Emily has never flown and Robbie has only flown once when he was ten months old (and he did fine then.... with a bottle!! lol) Neither of them are gum chewers, so will have to come up with something else.
Have a great rest of the day,

WOOOHOOO TAMMY!!!! Cool to hear you got your docs! That means that hopefully our's aren't far behind! I actually got a note from the UPS guy while I was gone today that he had tried to make a delivery..maybe they were my docs as well!!!
TOO EXCITING!!!!!!! 5 more weeks til we leave....holy *(&$
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO Kaitlyn as well...send some of those birthday doc dance vibes this way!!!! Tanner's birthday is very soon...if we could get them in honor of his birthday a few days early that would be great!!!
Sorry you cant find your manual..have you tried looking to see if they have an online version of it??
Tracey--No prob on the new song in your head! It's annoying though isnt it when a song gets into your brain and you cant fill it with anything but more annoying songs??? LOL
We tried the ear planes for the kids the last WDW /Cruise trip and they didnt work for them at all. I think I'll just give them the ear numbing drops and pray they work. I've read several reports of people who have used them and they worked really well. As for bringing stuff...I've got the list from TOYS R Us going on what to get to keep them busy! Actually I only worry about Tanner. I may end up bringing him some watercolor paints with a waterbottle and a cup...he LOVES to paint, color, draw, so I may do that! I'm sure we'll bring the laptop (have to have somewhere to store the gazillion pics we take) so I'll put some of his favorite movies on (right now it's the Cat in the Hat) so hopefully that will help as well and thankfully we get dinner both ways so that takes up a good 30-40 min of flying time!
Doc told me no more tanning til the folliculitis is gone which should be about 10-12 more days! EEGADS I may be dead by then! The warm weather is so hard to deal with when you want to wear short sleeve shirts and you're arms look like a dot to dot!
Well off to finish Kaylee's scrapbook from our LAST Disney cruise...bad mom bad mom!

I'm soooo glad to see that someone from our group received their documents as that means we all should be getting them soon! What's more exciting than that?!?! Um, well, aside from actually being on the Magic, that is! :p
For some reason I'm getting the distinct feeling that certain individuals might not appreciate my Badgers CDs... Hmmm... :teeth: LOL
Tracey--
Aren't the Coolpix nice? I think they're pretty popular because they're supposed to be a pretty good camera for a great price! I just got mine in December and have enjoyed experimenting with it since then. One of the great things about digital is, as Heidi mentioned, the fact that you can instantly view the picture and get rid of the ones you don't want. I still only have the 8 MB memory card that the camera came with and I've been keeping an eye out for additional cards on sale. Have to stock up before the cruise as I plan on taking a lot of pictures, as usual! :)
Linda--
I have to admit that I'm jealous if you're done with your shopping already! Travis and I were doing good for a while but now we've fallen behind again. Too much to do when these darn Dis Boards are so addictive! Oh, and school too. :teeth:

YOU GOT YOUR DOC'S:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:
you lucky girl!!! I'm glad I'm not the only one that has problems with digital cameras. I bought one a couple of years ago and lost the cable connectors to the computer, we used it on vacation and I just found out last week I could have Wal-Mart print the pictures for me, uh-duh. I was going to throw the camera away. I still want to get a better one or probably the combo video/still shot one.
Heidi thanks for the info on POR that was really nice of you. I think GF is out, $400 for a little over 12 hours would be extreme. Of course that tree in the back yard is sprouting 100's like crazy.
I did finally book our air. I thought for sure I blew it this year by waiting too long; but up popped a United non-stop out of ORD for 160.00 r/t WOOHOO. I ended up saving $40 over ATA and got good flight times and the United terminal too (no walking). I'm probably going to check out Priceline for Friday night but since we will be in earlier than I thought I'll probably make it for WDW area instead of the airport area. So we could still come over and meet you guys if you decide to get together. I have never really checked out PI so I think we will go to AC when they 1st open and then we can take the boat over to POR if anyone wants to "get the party started".:D
I'm home early today because I had a DENTIST appt. this morning 8:00-10:30 :( I went to work and took 5 Advil but as the Novocain wore off I was going down hill so I came home early to get some Tylenol w/Codiene and if it doesn't kick in pretty soon I'm going to open a Mic Ultra. This group has a thing for digital cameras, dentists and alcohol - interesting:smooth:
It's 62F and sunny today, it's not 80 but I'll take it.
Got my fingers crossed for the UPS man (I think we could add the UPS man to the list of things we got a thing for:teeth: )
See ya,

My mom just called me.... she got her UPS package today too. Hopefully mine will be waiting for me when I get home!
Jason, what I meant was I was done shopping for the BIG stuff, still have all the little odds and ends to get done, and all the PACKING, ugh!!
Alice, if you go shopping for a combo video/still camera, be sure and find out if the camera produces PRINT QUALITY photos (if that is important to you) We had a digital video/still camera all picked out that had the card for memory and everything, but then the salesman told me that it was only a 1 mp camera, which produces pictures good for nothing but e-mailing, would not be nearly high enough quality to print. So we stuck with a regular digital video camera and the Kodak digital that I already had. Just something to think about!

Whoo whoo! Happy Doc Dance for Linda's mom! :teeth:
That makes me feel a little bit better about the shopping Linda. Travis and I have pretty much finished up with all of the "must have" things. However, I still want to look at an inexpensive set of snorkel equipment and also the digital camera memory.
Get this...
I heard the sound of a large truck outside and ran to the window hoping it was the UPS carrier. Unfortunately, it was only the trash collectors. Not that they're not important too! :)

Alice--No problem on the info on the hotels...I thought 400 for the GF was ridiculous that's for sure! Hey if your tree is sprouting hundreds it must mean that mine is dead after the horrific winter! I want one! LOL It would be A LOT of fun to get a little mini-meet together on that Friday night...just for something fun and different to do. If you get a hotel near WDW you'll have to make sure you come over and say HEY! Great price on your airfare! I booked the cheapest I could for me (the other 4 used frequent flier miles on Delta) so I had to buy and the cheapest I could get was 340 r/t from SLC. OUCH! I guess if you divide that by the 5 of us it works out to only like $68.00 per person round trip so I guess I shouldnt feel so bad right?? LOL I wish our flights were shorter! That's one of the reasons I am SO hoping Disney sends one of the ships out West so I can fly for 1 1/2 hours and for $69-99 r/t on Southwest. I'm SO sorry to hear of your dental pain! I need to go so bad but I just cant bring myself to go! I know I will have to go before we set sail but I just dont want to go and I dont think anything I need done will necessarily hurt I just dont want to go! I always have to have some strong drug to get me through anything major like Root Canal's or something so I feel your pain!! I really may end up going to the "knock you out" dentist who puts you out and does all your dental work at the same time! Who knows!
It's 78 degrees here and has been so nice and warm! We are due for some rain by the weekend though but I can take a little rain if it gets nice like this again!!!
My UPS man came to my door but *sigh* he didnt bring docs...just brought my ephedra I bought before it went off the market! I'd much rather have had my docs!
Linda---congrats on the docs to your mom! I want mine now NOW NOW I tell you! OH well something else to wait for I guess!
LOL Jason...I heard the truck too and it really was the UPS truck and I thought YES they are here..but it wasnt them! I also got some flowers delivered for my neighbor who wasnt home and that got my heart pounding with excitement too! I almost dropped the flowers I was so upset it wasnt documents!

Its been a year since we flew and she is better lately in the car, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she'll be ok on the plane.
We'll be at DTD Friday night, so keep us posted if you have a meet (and if its ok if we pop in). I love the boatride from POR to DTD.
Off to watch American Idol. Have a good night and happy doc dreams to all!

Greetings all:
Okay... I too did not receive my documents yet. I looked out the front window on several occasions today only to see everyone but the UPS man. I ordered my SafeSea Lotion though. That should count for something.
Windy & cold again in NY . My son was home from school with strep. At least I got out of work- Yee Hah! Vaca. cannot come soon enough.
Govac24 -
Welcome aboard this thread & enjoy the anticipation!
Heidi-
Try having your children chew twizzlers or taffy while landing. It worked fine last year when my 2 flew to WDW. It helps as much as gum chewing. Also...How did you know all the words to lime in the coconut. That song was popular in the early 70's???
Jason-
No gofer-snake-mushroom CD Please!!!!!!!
Alice-
I went shopping again. Two dresses(on sale of course.) Now if I could just find some shorts.
36 more days till WDW and 38 till DCL!!!!!!!

Alice - airfare deal you got sounds great! Hope you're feeling better from your dentist trip. DS has to go tomorrow a.m. and also to have some blood drawn... only good thing about that is I'M OFF WORK!!
Heidi - Sorry you didn't get your docs - I'm sure you'll get them soon, hopefully in the next week....

Congrats to all of you who have your docs. I'm envious. We don't even know if we're going to get to go yet. As of Saturday they hadn't posted availability for crew discounts for the May 1 cruise and my DD apparently doesn't send e-mails any more. :worried:
Pardon me for whining but doesn't this girl understand that I don't get enough information when I only hear from her once a week? I got really spoiled when I could pick up the phone and talk to her any time I wanted. Now that the only time she can call is when they're in port on Saturday I send e-mails and it seems like they're dropping into the Carribean unread. I shouldn't complain. SHE'S the one who's working 10 hours a day EVERY SINGLE DAY. I'd have dropped before now. I'm definitely NOT 24 anymore.
I made the mistake of shopping for a swimsuit last night. :( I'm not the same shape I was at 24 either! Oh well. I'll find one and everyone will just have to put up with it. I'm not going to miss out on the water activities just because I'm not a Twiggy. the water trikes on Castaway Cay should like fun.
GOVAC24 Welcome. Set aside several hours if you want to read the entire post. But it's fun.
Everyone seems to have left a note today. Lots of excitement in the group. Those clocks keep ticking. YaHooooo.
Now that I've vented, I feel better. DD said on Saturday that she was pretty certain that we could get a cruise, but it may be one of the ones on the Wonder. If so, we will spend the rest of the time at WDW. It's still a vacation and still Disney.

Good Wednesday morning everyone!
It would seem that we have a lot of happy cruisers on our thread this morning after all of the UPS deliveries yesterday. Perhaps we'll see some more cruise docs come our way this morning and this afternoon. (Hopefully some delivered to, oh, say, Clearwater, FL! :) )
Welcome to GOVAC24! Glad to see that you found our thread and our little corner on the web at <a href="http://**********************">*****************</a>. Have you and Bill planned any shore excursions for this cruise?
Alice--
I really like your way of looking at things! :teeth:

I call DCL daily now to check for Florida Resident Rates and I come up empty handed every time! Perhaps DCL and the cruise industry as a whole is starting to come out of the "slump" they've been in. At any rate, I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya! ::yes::

Hello to everyone! Happy Hump Day!!!
Tammy---I've stomped my feet all day long and yet STILL no visit from the ups guy! I hate flying with my kids! They usually end up bawling at the very least and almost hysterical at the very most! It gets so embarrasing! Once we flew to DL with our 2 kids when we landed in LAX after a brutal flight (1 1/2 hours of pure torture) McKaylee started wigging out..bawling, sobbing, almost screaming. Usually as soon as we get to the gate and they open the door her ear's release pressure...well wouldnt you know that this time we got stuck on the tarmac for 45 min waiting for a gate to open?? I felt bad for her more than anyone but I also felt bad for the people who were sitting around us. I've used every single method in the book from drinking out of straw, chewing gum, swallowing, Benadryl, Ear Planes..you name it and nothing works. I did get a tip for the Ear Numbing drops they give to kids when they have ear infections so that is what we will try this time. I would really like to have a meet at POR and you are more than welcome to come over from DTD to POR! That would be a lot of fun and anyone who will be around is welcome to join in!
Kathy--great you got your lotion! I got my Ephedra but what I really wanted was my docs! LOL Cool about the dress buying! I've given up on finding shorts..I just bought a whole bunch of capri's. Thanks for the tips on chewing...I think we've used every chewy thing in the book to help and nothing has yet! My kids just have realy sensitive ears apparently! The Lime in the Coconut my parents played a lot when I was younger (hey I grew up in the 70's and 80's):teeth: and then we heard Jimmy Buffet Sing it once and I donwloaded it and it's on my mp3 list still to this day! I just did a search for the whole lyric set on Google but I love that song. McKaylee had strep a few weeks ago..man that sucked!! I feel for you!!!
Tracey--Thanks for the sympathy on the no doc thing....I know they'll come it's just so exciting when they do!! One day they will surprise me..... LOL I sound like a little kid!
Reine--sorry to hear your DD isnt able to talk much to you! I can imagine that would be really hard although my kids are at the age where I wish they would shut up for awhile! LOL I hear you on the swimsuit buying!! I decided to just give up and figure if I dont look in the mirror at myself then I can pretend I am a svelte supermodel right?? LOL Hope you find out about the cruise soon!!
Conny--as soon as I get done with this lengthy post I will PM you my info!! I think maybe we should just plan a time so that anyone who wants to come can come over and plan a place as well!!! But I will PM you my name. Sorry to hear you're trying to kill a nerve! That is painful!!
Well...I am off to my mundane housewife tasks!
Take Care everyone!

Godd Morning,
Boy everyone must be busy shopping (or hunting down the UPS man) it sure is quite in here :o
I'm envious of those of you who purchased new swimsuits - boy that is the worst part of vacation - making sure no one I know sees me in my bathing suit:p
Alice - sorry about your trip to the dentist, I hope you are feeling better today. I'm also a dentist  , don't go unless I have too.
Heidi - good luck with the ear drops, I hope they work. Starting a vacation in so much pain is no fun for you or your children.
Have a great day!

This will be short cause I've got to get to work.
Heidi, thanks for the sympathy. She called for a few minutes from St. Thomas yesterday. Didn't talk long cause she wanted to get back to the ship and go to bed. She had to work crowd control for immigration and was up at 5:30. She said the QE2 was in port with them in St. Maarten and it's HUGE.
All of you with dentist issues, hang in there. It's worse if you don't go and end up hurting ALL the time.
Doc Watchers...here's hoping all the docs are in by the end of the week. We're not even booked yet. I asked DD yesterday if they had released availability and she said MOM, I'll let you know AS SOON as they do. I checked airfair and it had gone down from last week so I booked it. One step closer to a Magical vacation...whether it's on the Magic or not.
Check you tonight if I'm not out shopping.

Ok now that I've calmed down a little bit I can reply to the posts from earlier today! My niece is here from Denver so I've been busy with her taking her and her friend here and there. ANYWAY
Tammy--I feel sorry for the kids but even more sorry for those around us who also have to listen to it. I'm hoping that since they are older it wont be as bad. Kaylee has ALWAYS had ear problems so it makes it worse for her. Cool that you are a dentist (did I read that right?) but man if you are..I may have to stay away from you! LOL Or I may be finding you going OUCH OUCH OUCH! LOL The ups guy came and I'm pretty sure he is glad he didnt have to see me! LOL I was a little pissed that he just left them sitting on my front porch! OH well at least I got them.
Reine--glad to hear you got to talk to DD for a few minutes anyway! If you need to talk to a kid you can ALWAYS call my 10 year old...she'd talk your leg off you! :p I'm glad all is well with her although I think having to do immigaration would stink! I hate the dentist with a passion! I go every 6 months to have my teeth cleaned and checked but my teeth are so awful that they just "spontaneously combust" even if I'm not eating or drinking the will just "explode" on me. It is awful!! I got my docs so no watching for me!! Cool on the airfare....and I'm sure you'll find out very soon!!
Conny---so sorry to hear about your teeth problems being still ongoing! That stinks!!! I hope they fixed it this time..and just think pretty soon we will be sipping froo froo drinks and just saying " I care about what?" Oh yeah NOTHING! haha
Jason--cool on getting the docs! My kids all said "so that means we really are going" like we would have backed out on it or something. LOL
Ok...Conny and I have decided that we should do a mini-meet on Friday night at 9pm at POR for ANYONE who is interested in coming! Anyone have any ideas on where to meet??? I've only been there once and my memory isnt so great anymore...we were thinking the bar inside the lobby..but anyone have any other ideas????
Ok..off to check dinner and then watch the NCAA tournament...gotta see if I win my betting pool! LOL

5 weeks from today and we'll be sitting in an airport hotel waiting for our AM flight.
Oh my Heidi - I just re-read my post. No way am I a dentist - however I have a niece who is a dental hygienist. Sorry for the confusion - I am a certified dentist avoider at all costs.
Conny- hope you feel better soon!
Great news on the Friday night meet - my only suggestion would be near the pool. I can't remember, but I think they have a pool bar - that way the kids could swim??

I've read and re-read those docs 10 times tonight and everytime I read them I get more excited than the last time! I was going to start filling them all out but Ryan gave me the "are you insane" look so I didnt! LOL
I agree that we should meet by the pool. Conny suggested that as well so that the kids could swim and the adults could have a beverage or 10! LOL
Only 33 more days...only 33 more days!!! That's a shorter amount of time than what has gone between Valentine's Day and today!

Hi folks,
I need everyone to think happy thoughts for our cruise availability. You know like Peter Pan does to revive Tinkerbell. I talked to DCL today and the reservationist said that they hadn't posted any crew availability for the May 1 cruise and that the cruise was filling up fast. She said it might be a WEEK or TWO until they release availability! :crazy2: :scared:
The net still shows Cat 4,5,6,7 and 11 staterooms available. I'm not going to panic until I check and nothing's available. Maybe they'll upgrade one of you guys and give us whatever you had.:yo-yo:
Positive thoughts, Positive thoughts...accepting prayers also. We'll all have fun no matter where we end up but I really wanted to cruise the Magic since that's DD's ship.
Glad so many of you are getting your DOCS. I know it's beginning to feel real now.
Conny - sorry about the dentist deal. What a bummer. Especially if the drugs aren't working. Just get this behind you so you can enjoy the cruise.
Tammy - Crowd control for immigration probably isn't her favorite thing but she's a CM so I'm sure she did it with a smile. And she's had some very Magical moments herself. One night a little boy clung to her hand all evening and gave a her a spontaneous big HUG as he was leaving. Last week she got to swim with the Dolphins in Cozumel. Tuesday she and a co-worker rented jet skis in St. Maarten and oogled the QM2 that was in port there. Sure beats working in an office!
Heidi - thanks for the offer if the substitute talker but I can find a couple of those around here. Hopefully I'll get to meet all of you on the ship....positive thoughts, positive thoughts, positive thoughts.
I've always believed that God has a wonderful sense of humor and since He knows how much I like stability and planning ahead, it's appropriate that He's letting me experience a little uncertainty. After all, trust is how we grow. Whatever is best for us is what's going to happen. I just wish I knew what it was!
Have a great Friday. The weekend's almost here.

We will be staying at Old Key West resort from Wed til Sat. Then off til the big beautiful boat!
Jason - we have booked the orient Beach tour on St. Maartin
on St Thomas - the tram ride & the island tour
& we'll be snorkling on CC.
We've done the eastern cruise on our 1st Disney cruise so we decided to do something different this time.

CM_Mom--
Sorry to hear about your luck so far on obtaining passage on the Disney May 1st sailing. Travis and I have been checking on Florida Resident Rates on a daily basis since early last month and have also come up empty handed. However, it's probably good news that the web is still showing open availability for Cat. 11. That means that the ship is not full yet and anything a possibility! Here's LOTS of positive thoughts heading your way!

Now, this year, We'll be sailing on May 1st, the day of my graduation with my graduate degree! Yeeee Haaaawww! (To be honest, I don't know which I'm more excited about: the cruise or finally being done with school and getting my life back! :) Ok, ok, who am I kidding, it's the cruise! ;) )

Lisa - are you a DVCer also? Just asking because you are staying at OKW. We still haven't got our Doc's either and I thought maybe it was because we booked thru MS. The big brown truck was stopped at a house down the street Wed. so I stopped to ask if he had anything for us, he said no but kind of gave me a funny look. I'm thinking he thought I was waiting for a shipment of Viagra or something.
Reine I'm sure you guys will get a discount I just hope it's for the May 1st sailing.
Ok..off to check dinner and then watch the NCAA tournament
Good luck!
GO ILLINI
We love Duke but we can't go against the home team.
Don't you just love this time of year. We are all big basketball fans, our family loves NCAA (girls and guys) tournament time.
Well all you lucky dancers I have a feeling we are going to have to wait until next week to join you, but better late than never.
On a misc. note if anyone is trying to drop a pound or 10. I bought the 6 Second Ab machine last week and really like it. I felt like a "sucker" walking up to the check out because my experience with these gimmick kind of deals has not been positive; but I must say I'm impressed.
Conny I hope you are feeling better or at least no pain.

Alice, I don't have an ab machine but I joined CURVES for Women on Monday and I really like their exercise program. It's circuit training where you only do the same thing for 30 seconds and then change. And every other activity is a "recovery station" wher you walk in place (or dance if you're really energetic). 30 minutes and you're done. And NO MIRRORS. It's definitely an fitness place for Grown Up women.
The swim suit shopping expedition was the last straw.

Good Morning all...or to some of you Good Afternoon!
It's a dreary gloomy C~O~L~D day in Utah today! Rain, snow and bleak! High today mid 30's! Yesterday we were in the 70's and today if we break 40 we will be lucky! Stupid Spring!
Reine--PD headed your way as well as prayers that you will be on the cruise with us!!! I still see lots of cabins available too..which should mean you should be able to get SOMETHING soon!! We will keep everything crossed that can possibly be crossed! Are you sure you dont want my "talker"? LOL She never ever shuts up! (hmmm wonder who she is taking after?):smooth:
Lisa--Here's hoping that the big brown truck will drop by today!! The waiting for the docs is one of the hardest things! Also if you're interested in stopping by the meet on Friday night at POR I think we're pretty close to saying 9pm at the pool...no pressure but if you would like to all stop by please feel welcome!
Jason--the website looks GREAT!!! I love the unofficial meet and all of the links! It's great!!! I'm glad to see that I've started to rub off on someone! LOL :yo-yo: And only 5 more weeks from tomorrow we will be on board that beautiful cruise ship!
Alice--LOL at your reasoning with the weekend...we do that kind of reasoning too! In fact we got it from the Seinfeld episode where Elaine and Jerry are at his parents house and she throws out her back on the sofa bed and Jerry says "it's 2 days really" we do that all the time!!!! ROFLMAO at the Viagra Comment! I see your quick wit is showing once again!:jester: I cant stand Duke just because of their coach! He just bugs me to no end!!! So GO Illini!! *hubby is yelling for OK state! shhhhhh * but I dont care as long as Mike SHISHEFSKY (spelling wrong on purpose..) doesnt win it this year!!! LOL
Good job on buying the 6 min ab machine! I've been killing myself every morning on the Total Gym and Treadmill along with doing Yoga and Circuit training but still the weight stays on. (I dont think it has anything to do with gin..:teeth: ) but that's great!!! Good for you! Here's hoping you get your docs today! One never knows when they will arrive...it's like the biggest tease ever! Raining and snowing here today went from 70 to 30 in less than 24 hours! Got to love Spring in Utah!
Tracey---I was wondering where you were! Glad to see you are still alive and kicking!!! It has been SO busy on here lately but it's been nice!! I Hope you get your doc's before the 2 week mark and one never knows for sure! I'll keep my fingers crossed taht you get them much earlier than 2 weeks out!! If not good for you on still getting psyched! Every day I dont think I can get psyched anymore than I do and yet every day I am!! We are cold for a few days but supposed to be in the 70's by Monday again!
Well it's almost the weekend which means we are almost that much closer to getting to our destination!

Good Morning,
We'll our weather has finally turned here - its was 76 yesterday and just beautiful. This morning we have drizzle, but a promise of 70 and and sun by noon.
5 weeks until we cruise:bounce:
Conny - I love your countdown - wow 26 days is just around the corner.
I just about finished my cruise shopping last night. I picked up all the little things, sunscreen, film, video tapes, etc. Now I have organize everything. I think my DH will kill me if I get the suitcases out. I have all our formal clothing gathered as well as the tropical outfits. My DD (14) bought her tropical dres last for less than $10 - and a new two piece bathing suit. Boy do they make those bathing suits skimpy.
Boy - I really scared you guys about the dentist thing :teeth: I'd hate to be banned from the group even before you meet me.
Well, I'm off to another cheerleading competition. Wish me luck - after hours of hearing yelling kids, boy does my head start to hurt. I think I'm too old for these things.

Congratulations to all of you doc happy people! So I guess us May 8th cruisers should start looking for our docs soon, huh? Just one simple question, since we booked through a TA will the docs be sent directly to our house or will we have to wait the additional time for TA to forward the docs to us?

Ahhhh, it's finally the weekend! :)
Looks like the weather is starting to improve for most people. Perhaps a sign that spring is ready to blossom? Here for us in Florida, a sure sign that spring has hit in other parts of the country is the sudden increase in out-of-state license plates in March/April. On the way home from work last night, I think I spotted at least 25 out of the 50 states and a couple of provinces from Canada as well! At times it gets exceptionally busy and traffic is a pain but we can't complain too much as you guys pay a significant portion of our taxes here! (No state income tax, etc.) So, I guess I should say thanks! :sunny:
I think Travis and I are going to head to Disney again today. See how Expedition Everest is progressing at DAK.
Lisa--
I earned my Bachelors of Social Work last May and will complete my Masters of Social Work next month barring any sudden and unexpected complications. (Keeping fingers crossed. :) ) As far as what comes next, we'll, I'll need to find a job ( ) and work on licensure. I guess I have to become a full-fledged adult! LOL
Tammy--
We would never ban you from our group! Even if you were a dentist. You could help us keep our :teeth: in shape!
Heidi and Conny--
I was looking at rates for POR for the Friday night before the cruise and they have some good deals going on for Florida Residents and Annual Passholders. I don't know if either of you have an AP, but you can get a standard room at POR for $74.00. Travis and I may just end up staying the night before if we can get our act together! [Says the optimistic part of my brain.] Yeah, right. Highly doubtful. [Says the realistic part of my brain.] :hyper:
Mike--
I've only booked through a TA once and that was actually AAA. Not sure if AAA actually counts as a TA or not. At any rate, if you do book through a TA or AAA, DCL sends the docs to the TA first. From what I was told by our AAA agent, this may sometimes result in individuals not receiving their docs until a couple of weeks before the cruise because TAs book staterooms in batches. DCL doesn't send out the docs for the TA until all of that batch has been sold or a certain deadline has been hit. So, if TA "A" books 15 staterooms on the May 8th sailing but doesn't sell the last one out until the last week in April, then DCL doesn't send them until that point. (Again, I really don't understand the process but this was what was explained to me when I asked about receiving cruise docs from AAA.)

Top O the weekend to you all:
It's another crummy day here in Utah....so I think today is the organization day for cruise stuff...that should bring a little :sunny: into the day!!!
Lisa: Looks like our rooting (or in my case hubby's) helped for OSU! Now if ONLY Duke had lost THAT would have made my day! I hope you can make it to the meet!
Conny--WOW Great news about gargling with gin! LOL I never thought about that but it would make sense (and swallowing some Gin makes even more sense LOL) Glad to hear your mouth is starting to feel better!!! Only 26 days...wooohoooo! We are almost out of the 30's and into the 20's!
Tammy--take care of that good weather for me ok? We have the crummy weather right now so take good care of the warmth. Supposed to be in the very low 50's today. 5 weeks from right now we will be getting ready to walk through the mickey ears and onto that beautiful ship! I cant believe it! LOL about skimpy bathing suits! For me they are skimpy because they have to cover more skin than normal! LOL Great job on getting everything ready and organized. I think with the weather today that's what I am going to have to do as well. I'm glad you arent a dentist either...because you are way to nice to be a dentist!
:teeth:
Have a good time at the cheer competition!!!! I'll take a few ibuprofen in your honor!:headache:
Goofyguy--we used Dreams Unlimited and the docs were sent directly to my house from DCL. They came ups in a brown cardboard box with the shipper as DCL and the receiver as me. Depending on your TA they may ship them directly to you instead of the TA. Pretty soon they should start arriving for your group!!!
Jason--Thanks for the POR info! Unfortunately neither situation applies to me  but thanks! I think you guys should work really really hard to be there on Friday night! Use your Saturday's to get ORGANIZED instead of rubbing it in to all of us that you are going to Disney again! :duck: JUST KIDDING! I'm just insanely jealous! Too funny about the many license plates. When we had the 2002 Olympics here the amount of out of state cars was extremely high as were the car rental's who were at the time identified with the beginning letter of who rented like B for Budget in case people going to the slopes missed one of the turns in the canyon they would know who to contact.
Well I'm off to start my process of sorting cruisewear and other cruise stuff!!

Just in from a productive but exhausting day of shopping. Started out at Kohl's only spent $100 but got a whole bunch of stuff, got to love their sales. Next stop Wolf Camera to get a professional opinion of Cannon Power Shot A80 vs. Nikon Coolpix 4300, and bought binoculars for the trip. Then I went to Office Depot and bought the Nikon for $246.00 :teeth: WOOHOO it was $50 off plus a $50 mail in rebate from both Nikon and Office Depot. I really wanted the Canon but for $150 I'll suffer. Next up Trader Joe's for a bottle of Indaba Chenin Blanc 5.99 (house wine at AKL) Stopped at Border's for an Elton John CD and a paper back mystery set in the Carribean. Grabbed a cup of coffee at Caribou Coffee:hyper: then home to put on my new PJ's pour a glass of Indaba and call my best new buddies (except I can't call you I have to e-mail you) and I know what you are thinking - Alice it's only 5:30 isn't it a little early for your PJ's - nope because it's only 3 1/2 hours until my bedtime (besides I was up late last night watching the Illinois game:( our poor boys played hard but you just can't make that many mistakes against a team like Puke I mean Duke). Well, if I didn't know better I'ld think I was Heidi after a dentist appt.:teeth:
Hope your day was as productive as mine (in retro I'm not really sure the day was all that productive but that's my story and I'm sticking to it)

Hi all. I'm taking my own advice and thinking positive thoughts. I decided to put my money where my mouth was and go ahead and do cruise shopping. I found a swimsuit I like but shopping for it really cemented the determination to stay with Curves. Maybe next year it will be too big and I'll have to shop AGAIN. Also got swimsuit and shorts for DH. He's really a jeans guy but I convinced him that he'd enjoy shorts on the cruise. Also got a new capri outfit that has palm tree decorations on it. If that isn't cruise wear, I dont' know what is. Now I have to stop spending and start organizing. Well maybe just another little bit for a cover up... and some beach shoes... and ...and... Biggest challenge now is what to wear for formal night. Well that's the biggest challenge after being patient waiting for the reservations..but they'll either come or they won't and losing sleep won't change a thing.
Alice, Glad you had a productive day. Based on your post, you're already in bed. Well hi when you read this. Glad you found some great stuff on sale.
Conny, hope the teeth and the rest of you are feeling MUCH better by now.
Heidi, sorry the weather in Utah is messy and cold. It will change, just give it time. Just think, 5 weeks from now you'll be on the ship and Utah weather won't matter at all. Hope you got all your cruise wear and other stuff sorted. Have you got the suitcases out yet? Can't remember if you've said and too lazy to read back on the posts.
Tammy, How was the cheerleader competition? Do you have any hearing left. Hope your group won.
Jason, shame on you for taunting the rest of us who can't just "pop over" to WDW. I agree with Heidi that you could enjoy the group better if you got organized NOW :hyper: instead of playing.
We'll miss the Friday night thing since our flight gets into Orlando at 12:31 Saturday morning. DD thinks the Hyatt is way to expensive but I told her that I booked it because we can use DM's senior citizen's discount and it's the quickest way to get my body horizontal in a bed. Since DH and I both have to work on Friday, the sooner we can get to bed after we get to Florida the better. I figure if we're lucky, we'll have the lights out by 1:30 AM.
Talked to DD this morning and she's had a good week except for a kid who had a "protein spill". Count on Disney to have a nice name for everything. We talked about her seeing the QM2 and she informed me that she was corrected when she called it a ship. The Magic is a ship. The QM2 is an OCEAN LINER. I think someone's getting a little hoity toity.
By the time anyone reads this it will probably be Sunday. Have a blessed day.

Hello All & Happy Sunday a month before our Cruise!
I keep getting bumped off so forgive me if this reply is erratic.
Conny & Heidie-
No POR for me. We'll be at the Poly & we have PS at Ohanas at 7:00. Let me know how POR is. I was booked there last Yr and they moved us to AKL. Our meet on the ship is where & when??
CMMom-
You'll be there with us I'm sure.. Patience... Just keep shopping till then. It'll make the wait that much better.
Alice-
Kohls and wine & PJ's. I'm jealous!
Jason-
Jobs & degrees. Try a civil service test with your county. They have plenty of jobs requiring SW degrees. You will never get rich but there is job stability and benefits. Also, if you get certified tere is the job of school social worker. It beats private practice!
Sounds like everybody is exercising & trying on bathing suits. Here's the deal.... I wont look at you if you don't look at me. Sounds good right?
Tammy-
I canm't believe you are finnished shopping. I got the suit cases out, lotion bought but I won't know I am finished till I start piling up things to pack. Everything is so scattered I'm sure I need to buy something!!
Oh well... I have to go make breakfast. Have a Great day & don't forget to write:crazy:

Good Happy Monday Morning (is that possible:o )
I'm exhausted from running around this weekend.
Kristen's cheerleading squad took first place in the Middle School division. They were so excited and the actual competition was not too bad. There were lots of college squads competing, which is really neat to watch. Boy, can the guys on the squads through those girls. Very cool.
Kaitlyn had a 4 hour soccer training yesterday, almost 2 hours from home - so we left early and got home late. I know all I did was drive and sit, but that sure makes me tired.:o
Ok Ladies - please convince me to join Curves. I drive by one every day to and from work and I always think I should stop in and join. I just need the motivation. The program sounds wonderful. I like the no men, no children and no MIRRORS. Please tell me what you like about this program.
Have a great day everyone!

Don't the weekends just seem to fly by? I don't think it's fair at all! :p
Well, I picked up a few more tee-shirts at DAK this weekend and I'm beginning to think that I'm out of control and am on a tee-shirt buying binge. I can't stop buying them! :hyper:
I think I'm pretty much set shopping-wise for the cruise. The only things left that I need to buy are memory cards for the digital camera, 35mm film, and some new socks. After that, it's bon voyage Skippy!
Hope you all had a great weekend. Only 32 days!!!

dthogue cruves is worth it. it's a half hour to do something for yourself. I'm kinda shy around new people & they made me feel very welcome. the woman thing is nice but there's no competion between anyone. You do the machines the same as anyone else. You decide how fast or slow you work each machine. I have never felt sore after any work out. You do get measured & weighed(I hate that part) every month but you see the progress. (This happens in private). It's not that expensive. They want you to go at least 3 times a week but you are welcome to go more. Most Crurves have a freebie workout to test the program. Go in & talk to them. Good Luck!

I haven't checked in for a while, so I thought I would say Hi to everyone, and congrats to everyone who has received their docs. Our UPS guy is a slacker, (his last name is Slack) so I knew we would be one of the last to get ours. Our friends who are going with us have already received theirs so I bet ours will be just around the corner.
I do have to question all of you who are dieting and working out to get in shape for the cruise. I too have been in training, but my workout has consisted from going from three meals a day plus snacks, to 5 meals and have doubled my snack intake. In fact for lunch everyday if it isn't an all you can eat buffet, I won't go.
We are almost at a month to go, and it will seem like forever. Even though I have two trips planned before then (Tallahassee and Las Vegas), I am only thinking about the cruise and how much fun it will be.
Tammy, I have a budding soccer star, who will idolize your daughter when she finds out that she plays soccer. In fact that is where we are at every weekend all year long is watching soccer.

Wow I take a day and a half off and it takes me forever to read the messages!
Alice--glad to hear you got your camera issue solved and I for one thought that your idea of buying a nice bottle of vino, some jammies and curling up is a great idea and one I plan to follow this weekend coming up!I'm still ticked off (was going to say the P word but didnt know how it would go over! LOL) that Puke err Duke is in the Final Four! Their no neck coach drives me bonkers!!! And you know I dont think anything would get me to the dentist for real but I can pretend I went right?? LOL
Reine--The weather was yucky and then today it is 65 degrees. It snowed and rained on Saturday and then got this warm today. One just never knows about the temps around here. LOL about you and the Curves Determination! My determination came this weekend when I couldn't fit into any of my jeans (even my bigger sized ones from before I lost weight last summer) so the Gin went into the locked liquor cabinet and the dieting went into full force along with excessive Yoga and working out on the total gym and treadmill! I need to lose at least 10 lbs and I have 4 weeks to do it! I THINK I CAN< I THINK I CAN! LOL
Conny--I hope the friend and the baby are doing well. Only 4 more weeks! Hope the mouth is doing even better now.
Kathy--sorry to hear that you wont be able to join us at POR but it will be fun on the cruise to meet up. I dont know when/where yet for sure..we need to all figure it out soon!
Tammy--Glad to hear the competition went well!! And how exciting that Kristen's squad took first!! I was in drill team and that is SO fun!! Sorry to hear about the drive and soccer stuff but you're such a good mom to do it! I am a terrible mom! My kids dont do anything like that...I just dont have time right now! With Miles in BoyScouts and McKaylee in a church youth group it takes up most of my week.
Jason--cool on getting the shirts I know the feeling..I've done so much shopping this weekend I"m exhausted. I agree with the fact that the weekends go way to quickly!!!
Belle's dad--Sorry to hear "slacker" hasn't delivered your docs yet! Hopefully soon! I have mine but now it's taking all of my effort not to sit down and fill them out...Ryan says not until we are 3 weeks or less out! Why 3 weeks is magic I dont know...but oh well..only 1 more from Wednesday! LOL
As for the working out thing...I'm obviously not doing something right because the weight keeps finding me! I use the total gym, treadmill and yoga combined with pilates, eat small meals 3-5 times a day and drink a ton of water with some ephedra. It's not helping though! LOL Don't forget to look for my Bra at MGM Grand! I wish I had 2 more trips planned beforehand but I dont! Oh well...29 days from today I'll be on a plane right now!:teeth:
Ok well I'm off to do dinner and homework help!

Thought I'd pop in and say HI... Finally had a chance to catch-up on the messages, but this message from me will be short. I'm in FULL cleaning mode (have an old college friend coming in this weekend) so I'm trying to make it presentable for him!! Its actually kinda fun and boy does my place sparkle!! (well, not quite, never did, but looks a helluva lot better than it did!!)..
I'm also on a Total Gym kick, Heidi, along with my slim fasts.. I have that $75 bathing suit that I bought that I am DETERMINED to still fit into come cruise time....
Sounds like some of ya'll will be having an awesome meet at POR!! Very cool! Hope you have a blast!!! :earsboy: :earsgirl:
Alice - Congrats on such a productive weekend!! That is awesome about the cam too!!
Tammy - Congrats on your daughters cheerleading squad!! Very cool!! And speaking of Curves, one of my friends is in the program (not I, I'm way too lazy!) and she has done SOOOOO well on it... She's lost not only weight but inches too! So, go for it!
CM_mom - more positive thoughts coming your way....
Jason - Yeah on the new T's!! you're a t-shirt buying fool!! I too am also in need of another memory card for my dig cam... I wanna take LOTS and LOTS of pics!!
Have a great week all.. I'm off to clean...I'm sure I'll be dreaming of toilet brushes and windex tonight...

Hi all,
Thanks for all the positive wishes. On the DCL site today they showed 4,5,6,7,9 and 11. That's one more category from last week so I'm hoping that possibly some TAs that had reserved a block of rooms have released some of them.
Tammy, I'm really enjoying Curves. Their website is http://www.curvesinternational.com . I think you can print out a coupon for a free trial week. In addition to the no kids, to guys, no mirrors, I would add no soreness, no sweat and no pressure! They have gobs of fans and you only work 30 seconds at each station so I can get my heart rate up to where it needs to be and work the muscle groups without either getting sore or breaking into a sweat. I went at lunch today and sweated more when I got in the car that had been sitting in the sun than I did while exercising. Also the folks at both the clubs that I've been to are really encouraging...and most of the ladies are in our age group - you know the over somethings and are a variety of sizes so you're not embarrased if you're not pencil thin (and I'm not). I've tried all kinds of other stuff and this is the only one that is fun enough that I think I have a good chance of sticking with it. I'm mainly going to improve my health and getting rid of some pounds and inches will be a bonus.
Also, congratulation to Kristen and her team. How exciting for them. I'm sure it's a result of a lot of hard work. What a great mom you are to make the trips so Kaitlin coud do the soccer training. I remember those days, but DD did gymnastics, not soccer.
Alice, hope your relaxing evening was just that. It's always good to kick back and do nothing "constructive" once in a while.
Heidi, sending some positive thoughts your way as you "get with the program" as my SIL would say. Isn't it awful how those jeans shrink while they're hanging on the hanger? As for the weight, I bet the problem is that you "lose" the weight and you usually find stuff you lose. I plan to "get rid" of some pounds myself.
Jason, congrats on the degrees. I know what a milestone that is. Now you won't know what to do with yourself, especially if you've been working and going to school. It's amazing how much time you have available after you finish the school.
Logansmom, Let's not overdo the cleaning bit. You're going to make us feel guilty. But we did get some stuff cleaned out of the garage and into the attic this weekend so I feel a sense of accomplishment...especially since it's been in the garage since last October!
Everyone noticing how the clocks keep ticking down. I want to put a countdown clock on my computer at work but it's not allowed. I'm making do with a wonderful picture of the Magic that DD took. If anyone wants a great picture of the Magic taken from the tender going to Grand Cayman, send me a PM and I'll e-mail you the digital pic.
Everyone have a great week. Lets hope the UPS man brings docs to those who don't have them.

Yes,I´m doing the semi-happy docs dance, which means i got a mail from my TA,that they arrived there and she will mail them to me.So another 10 days and i have them.
Heidi-glad to announce my friend and her babyboy are fine,it took a little over 28 hours and he needs to put on sme weight before they can go home, but other than that mum and boy are ok.

I´m done shopping finally, the last thing i needed was an extra card and battery for the digital camera,so now I can sit back and wait untill i can open my suitcase and throw everything in.
Also,a little cleaning and washing might be a good idea, but i guess I´ll wait till next week(a little like Scarlett O´Hara-tommorrow is another day).

I was looking at some pictures of POR last night and it looks great, I checked the Disney site and I think the rooms were $180. Heidi did you use a coupon when you got it down to $140? Our AP's expired in October and we won't buy them again until our next trip. I'm still leaning toward Priceline WDW resort cat. but might stay at OKW on points.
We should have just chartered our own bus to take all us to the port now that would have been a party bus:jester:
Curves certainly sounds interesting maybe I'll print the coupon and try it for a week.
Belle and Rella's Dad LOL I like your idea of training - getting that stomach all stretched out for the Disney feast.
I have lost track are we the only ones that are not doing the Doc dance yet?
Way to go Kristen:teeth: that is excellent. Just keep going to those tournaments and competitions Tammy that's always good for burning a couple of pounds from nervous energy.
Conny so happy the baby and mom are doing well. My nephew just made me a Great Aunt again for the 12th time (don't worry he had help this was his 1st and she is an absolute angel::yes:: ) And I'm going to be a Great Great Aunt for the 3rd time in June :teeth:

Hi all, just thought I would check in real quickly.... don't have time to get caught up on all the posts right now, but tried to quickly browse them..... glad several of us now have docs.... those that don't have them yet, I am sure it won't be long now!!!!
Can't believe how fast the time is going.... which is a good thing, because work is a nightmare right now and I NEED A VACATION bigtime!!!! Sounds like the ship is going to be in full swing with this group.... unfortunately I highly doubt I will be able to keep up with you. When my kids aren't in the kids club, you will probably find me relaxing near the pool watching them play. When my kids are in the kids club, you will probably find me on one of those comfy deck 4 chairs reading a book, gazing out over the ocean. I am so looking forward to this vacation!!!!
Reine, I sent you a PM with my e-mail address.... would love a copy of that photo of the ship!!

Happy Tuesday to all---
4 weeks and 1 day for us! I cant believe we are down into the 20's now for days left until we go! I am starting to go into my month before panic mode trying to figure out the best way to do my packing list and on and on and on... LOL
Tracey--when you get done with your house do you want to come and clean mine??? Windex what's that?? ;) and ewwww toilet brushes. I saw a commerical this morning while I was working out and your post reminded me of it. The Scrubbing Bubbles disposable toilet brush...man what a GREAT idea! I may have to go find me some of those soon! Sounds fun to have your friend over for the weekend! Slim Fast, Total Gym, Power Yoga, Pilates, Ephedra, starving, locking the Gin up, running and still no weight going off and the pants still tight! EEGads! I have my swimsuits that fit me last summer that I loved but they dont look so great anymore!
Reine--I think you're right on the bigger stuff went out with the bigger weight. I went from a size 8 down to a size 4 all last summer and threw away all the size 8 stuff, kept the size 6 stuff and loved the size 4 stuff. Now the 8's are gone, the 6's are tight and the 4's well...just imagine! I'm working out twice a day though so I may not be losing pounds but hopefully soon I will lose inches! We've started doing yoga at night and I love it! I sleep so much better and I think I may be starting to feel a little leaner although not nearly anything noticable yet! It is definitely helping me stretch out a little bit! I will keep the fingers crossed for you and the room coming available for you guys!!!
Conny==Great news on the docs being at the TA! Now only a few short days and they will be in your hands! How exciting!!!! I keep looking at my docs thinking I should be filling them out but I guess I'll wait...what will I do with myself for the next 3 weeks if I already have them filled out?? LOL Congrats to your friend on her baby! Glad they are both doing fine! I have a nephew due in 7 more weeks to my oldest brother and his wife! In their 40's and this was something that was never going to happen and then voila it did! I cant wait! That means a trip to Denver to see the family and the baby in August!
Alice--The disney site prices went up a lot in the last week. Even our reservations went up! I did price out the POR on Travelocity and they show rooms of $94.00 a night so you might want to check it out! Expedia wont let you book unless you book 3 nights minimum but Travelocity will.
I agree about the bus but our kids are so pumped about the limo! LOL I think they are almost more excited about the limo than the trip itself!!! LOL It would be fun to have a party bus though!!!
Well I'm off to try to be domestic like Tracey!
Take care all!

Well I guess if popular opinion picks our staterooms (I'm sure by the time of the meet they will be a COMPLETE disaster which is why I have earmarked extra $$$ for our stateroom host) then that's what popular opinion picks! Just bring some hand sanitizer, an air freshener and LOTS of booze and anyone is welcome in our room. ROFLMAO.....I of course did NOT vote for my cabins but hey whatever floats your boat (roflmao at my own stupid sentence)!
Honestly if people want to come to our connecting "suite" of rooms...it is cool with me..just no balcony to go out onto since we are C~H~E~A~P and wanted the money for booze!! LOL
Heidi aka the lush
Oh yeah and thanks (I think) about our room being hopping....what's the old saying.."if the boat is a rockin' dont bother knockin?" ROFLMAO at myself tonight and I havent had a drink since Saturday night AND I've been doing power yoga twice a day...*maybe it's time for a drink eh?*
