Kellydmac, I'm on deck 2 also. Late seating. DDS10. I hear and feel the pain about spring break. I just called in for my sub for two days!!! Boy!! Will I catch the wrath about that!!! Oh well, that's the way it goes...
It's 19 degrees here, what's up with that??? Matthew keeps asking me am I SURE we will be able to go swimming and wear shorts? YES!!!
Getting so excited to meet all of you. I have my DS fannypack and buttons!!! And of course, my GREEN MARGARITA, LOL!!!
Any of you vetrans, is there a library on the ship? Can I borrow books from there? I'm starting to sweat baggage capacity. I only want to bring 3 bags, I may end up having to get a garment bag to check. I'm worried about not having enough space to pack all my 'BOUNTY' in on the way home!!
Got my hair cut and colored last night!! Whew!! The grays were starting to scare me when I looked in the mirror!!
Somebody send me the ships horn if you have it!!
Jane:sunny:
PS-We can party on Deck 2 and then go up and party with them!!

We are in cabin 2609. We got switched to deck 2 from deck 1.
Sillysmom is sending stickers! Thanks!!
Doing the cruise shopping tomorrow and packing this weekend!! Can't wait!!
Talk to you all soon!!

Hey Trekker, I was just looking back at some of your more recent posts on this thread, you last said "Don't forget 3:00 p.m. Scuttles 4/3". I thought the meet was going to be at scoops? Isn't Scuttles on CC? Just let me know, don't want to miss anything.
AAAAHHHH! I'm such an idiot sometimes - WOW - if there was a way to be at Scuttle's on 4/3 at 3:00PM that would be cool - (read - at Castaway Cay!)
You are absolutely right - Scoop's is the place to be - See you then
AAAAHHHH!! Only about a week to go and DW & DD LAST NIGHT decided to look into swimsuits! I cannot belive - last minute! HA! I'm ready - I've got it all packed - couple pairs of shorts, swimsuits, tropical shirts, slacks for dinner, what else do you need?

Judy!
If only you could join us - then it would be complete - we can only hope for next trip!
There is a chance we will be doing the Western in Oct instead of another next spring. Josh and Kate have a chance to spend Spring Break '05' in Myrtle Beach for Spring Break with their Church group!

Hey Dcbrown - DS just said last night that your DD sent him a picture - his reaction was WOW - she is really cute! What have we done! LOL!
I know this is in here some place - but I'm honestly to lazy to go back through the thread and figure this out. My DD is 14 and would love to know who else is on board her age.
Anyone that would like to communicate before the trip? (pm or email me) Or even just a list of kids around that age - so she knows she is not alone.
I think she is a little put off by how much DS is IMing with kids for this trip and she is not!

Trekker,
I don't know if I should say "fortunately or unfortunately" but the feeling is mutual!!! You are correct in saying "What have we done?" I am afraid that I have encouraged my daughters social scene to revolve around cruising....how expensive is that! Everyone she meets lives miles away....well at least they are on the same continent. Most importantlythough.....all have been very nice and well mannered....guess that comes from parents spending alot of money to let their children experience the world and the people in it!!
Looking forward to meeting all soon......give WDW our best regards.

Oh, I'm just counting the days!!
Finished up my shopping. Just need to go to the library and get a few books!! Will finish packing this Saturday.
Got an e-mail from our superindentent: SCATHING!! comes to mind. I will be taking my days w/o pay!! Oh well!!! Like I will cancel my trip. Our district goes 182 days per calender year, we could easily cancel the last two days and be like the rest of NJ, but no, we must be BETTER!!! I'm guessing 1/2 the staff and students will not be there...
Everyone ready???

Wow! I can't believe it is getting so close, I have so much to do!
I really think I have everything, but I keep thinking I am gonna forget something. We are going to lay out our clothes this weekend and see what outfits we have. I wore my new sandels today to break them in. I took care of the pets, found them a spring break home. Got cameras, I think we are set, but I still feel like I am going to be running around the last minute.
How is everyone else doing? I didn't check, but is anyone else coming from the west coast?
Talk to you all soon, very soon

Hi all,
Monchichi, I feel the same way!! Keep feeling like I'm forgetting something. I guess if I do I can just buy it on board. I'm going to do the outfit thing this weekend also. This time next week Matthew and I will be in the plane!! I just want sun and warmth!!
I ordered him a basket from Shirley yesterday. He is going to have so much fun!! I cannot believe how much I'm just looking forward to doing "NOTHING" work related for 10 days!!
I'm getting travelers checks tomorrow. Bringing some cash as well. Of course, THE PLASTIC...
Okay, gotta get going.
Happy Friday all!

The kids & I are 90% packed and we'll finish tomorrow. DH has to figure out what he is taking and get the stuff in a pile. DH and I are using smaller suitcases this year. I'm trying hard not to overpack. DD has too many shoes!
Dc, I'm saying goodbye to those nasty grays on Monday. I can't believe how many have appeared over the past year.
Got the Alien Green Mickeys the other day and now the DS6 thinks we're painting his room with the BuzzLightyear theme. Oh brother! He can be so cute and persuasive!
Can't wait to meet all of you guys!

Home Depot must think the general public has gone nuts!! All of their lime green swatches are MIA!! Little do they know they have great significance in the world of cruising!!
Have been packed since the last snow day......just need to run to the bank to get my roll of quarters and my stash of singles.
Really looking forward to the sight of Goofy hanging off the front of the Magic as it sits in port waiting to take us to the land of relaxation...........and RUM!!

Getting Ready to GO!!!
How do you attach the lime green Mickey head to your lanyard? I guess making a pin out of it using supplies from a craft store would be good - but, not sure I have time left for that!
dcbrown - that's funny about Home D!
I wonder if they will get a clue about what's up?
Hope to meet some of you ONE WEEK FROM TOMORROW!!!

Thanks dcbrown,
I've got the green Mickey heads and the clear pouches. Just didn't get how the two went together!!! Just too many things on my mind ... I'm sure you can relate!
Just wrote notes to my two kids teachers to get them out of school on Friday! The school board is using Friday as a make up day because of snow days.
One week to go!!!

OH MAN! Just finished packing (except for last minute stuff). It took about 2 hours. I've got 2 full size suitcases JAM PACKED (a extra pair of undies isn't even fitting LOL), and 3 light carry on's. I think I did pretty good. I hope I didn't forget anything important. I packed the most for myself and DD, DH will probably recycle. I plan on doing wash anyway. 10 pairs of shoes and 3 pairs of flip lops and the sneakers we're wearing that day. Boy, hope their is enough room in the drawers and closets. Anyone else pretty much packed?
Matthewsmom
03-27-2004, 11:54 PM
Hi everybody!!
Tomorrow is my packing day. I need to finish ironing and then put it in the suitcases. I'm aiming for 2 carryons, one suitcase and 1 garment bag. I'm getting so excited.
We just had my friends over for dinner who went on the western in Feburary. We were sitting outside in our hot tub and they were telling me what fun we were going to have. I felt bad that my hubby isn't joining us. He didn't go when I took my oldest son to Disney either. Oh well, somebody has to stay at home.... just NOT ME!!!
I'm just wishing the rest of the days until Friday go quickly!!! We leave at 5:30 in the morning on Friday:confused:
Feel like I'm forgetting something really important on my list??
Got the clothes pins, duct tape, nausea meds, and advils. What more??
sillysmom
03-28-2004, 08:16 AM
5:30 that would be nice. Our limo is picking us up at 3:30 a.m., our flight leaves at 6:30. We are going to be 3 VERY tired people. But hopefully we'll get our second wind. Matthewsmom, you are actually ironing before you leave? You are way better than me, It would all need to be ironed again when we got there. Our suitcases like I said are FULL. I had to weigh them, I was afraid they would go over the limit of 50lbs. They are 47lbs each! Think I overpacked? lol See u all soon, Linda:wave2:

03-28-2004, 11:32 AM
We are all packed for me, DD, and DS. Guess who does their own packing ... DH. Just have to pick up some Wal-Mart gift cards.
WOW sillysmom - You will be one tired crew! We are leaving home at 5:00AM on Friday and I thought that was bad (it is!).
You did well on packing. Right now it looks like three fairly good size suitcases, two garment bags, and two backpacks for carry on for us. I'll have to weigh ours too - they are pretty full! I don't want to do laundry while I'm on vacation!
Kellydmac - are our cabins next to each other? We are in 2608 and you are in 2609! I'll have to look at the ship chart! Wouldn't that be somthing! Both with DSs age 9 too!
Four days from now we will be relaxing at sea! Can't wait!

Hi, to everyone ! I miss you all and the ship already. Yesterday was way to long. After getting off the ship, we got to the airport by 10:30am. We couldn't check in our stuff until 3:00pm! ugh!
So we waited next to the luggage for 5 hours and then had some lunch at Chilie's Yum! Our plane didn't leave until 6pm that night so by the time we got home it was 12pm West coast time but it felt like 3am.. I got to bed at 1 am and woke up at 8am, but got 3 hours extra in there somewhere, I think.
Well, I was trying to get pictures of each family to put in my scrapbook, but time got the best of me and I only got a few. When I get my film done this week I will find out who I missed. Then maybe we can swap photos or something.
Linda, I missed seeing you the last day, I hope you had a good trip home, I will chat with you on the net lol Take care, all of you, and I hope to see you all again!

HI Umterp,
I sent you a pm with my email address.
I've been checking the other threads and it seems that DCL has not booked any cruises for the months of Jun, Jul and Aug 05. Sounds like they're going to be doing something. May 5th is the date they're going to announce the 05 summer schedule. Keep your fingers crossed.
Anyone else interested in cruising next summer if DCL repositions the Magic?
Trekker
What's the deal with transferring our ressies to Dreams Unlimited? Can they beat DCL's price with the onboard credit and 10%discount? HOw are they to work with? Any details that you can provide us would be appreciated.
Matthewsmom
Sorry we didn't see you much around the boat. How was the cruise. It sounds like you guys made it out in time to miss the thunderstorms in the Orlando area.
Miss all of you guys,

We were there the whole time - most of it spent around the adult pool while on board the ship. With my 2 teenagers we don't see much of them - so we can act like it is just DW and I on vacation.
On Castaway Cay we spent the day on the adult beach.

What happens here is you keep the price you got from DCL while booking onboard, you also keep the $200 credit. DU will also rebate you a percentage of your cruise price - I'm not sure how much - but it is on top of the already great price and onboard credit you have.
I do not have the link to the page to use to do the transfer, I'm at work (uck!). You need to transfer the cruise to DU prior to making a final payment for this to work.

Hi everyone!
Trekker - thank you so much for the information about transferring the reservations to Dreams. I wasn't sure exactly how it worked! That's great that you and DW can spend some quality time together on the cruise - some day...
Matthewsmom - sorry to hear about your server problems! I sent you a PM.
Kellydmac - hope you had a great time at WDW on Sat! I sent you a PM.
We rebooked for the week before Easter next year but will probably cancel that one. Hoping to transfer another ressie to the repositioning cruise (if it happens)!
Take care everyone!

Trekker,
Thanks for all the info. Did you book your air with DCL or DU? I read another post where DU upgraded some guy from CAT. 8 to Cat. 4 for free. The guy was so excited.
Sounds like you and your wife had a peaceful cruise. Our DD and dcbrown's dd hung out the whole cruise and had a wonderful time. They spent their time riding the elevators, walking deck 4, and checking out Mickey's Mates. Our ds spent most of his time with us.
Umterp,
I replied to your pm. I included our email address and telephone #. Won't it be great if they reposition and everyone joined us Calif?
It's raining and cold here. We even saw some snow on Sunday morning. Wish we were back on the Magic! DH thinks it's funny that the bags aren't unpacked yet and I'm planning the next cruise. :bounce: :Pinkbounc Can't wait!

We spent 2 days at the Hard Rock Hotel and Universal/Islands of Adventure.....had never been there but will deffinitely go back....being at on site hotel allows you to go directly to the front of the lines, which I might add, are very long.
My kids miss all of yours already and want to turn back the hands of time as do I. It was rally a great experience. Em really misses Jade and Kate!

HI DCBrown,
Sounds like you had magical endings to your Magical cruise. I had seen on the net that USAir had some delays due to thunderstorms yesterday. Hopefully, your trip home was uneventful. We had some strong winds over Philly on Sat. and they made us stay in our seats. Not too bad though. Our next extended trip to Orlando will be to Universal. I love the idea of being able to go to the head of the line. I didn't know about that little perk. A guy we know was considering going to Universal and had some get prices, but the wife and kids voted to install a hot tub instead.
I read the post from the guy staying in the Disney suite this week. I'm green with envy. I don't think I'd be able to cruise in any other cat after that.
Kate and Brett are back to school today. Kate was crying on Sunday evening because she wanted to be back on deck 4 with the girls. All she wants to do is wear shorts and order ice cream from Scoops. She made me homesick for rm 6545. Oh brother!
Hope your day back at school is an easy one.
Kate will be emailing Emilie and Jade soon.
