I noticed recently, the title 'moderator' disappeared from Michelle's name, but she still replied. Then recently we welcomed two new moderators to our wonderful board: dvcreg and SueEllen. Michelle has done wonderful job and will be missed for sure. Meanwhile, we welcome our newest mods, who will have the task of 'keeping us in line' ...LOL...and giving us all that great advise, along w/CarolAnn and TnRobin.

I don't know what is going on behind the scenes, but she was my TA with dreams for an upcoming non disney cruise (booked back when they were doing them) and when I tried to reach her several weeks ago, I was told she was no longer a TA for dreams.

I believe both her and Cathy left Dreams "to pursue other options". I am not sure why she was banned here though...she never did anything wrong that I saw. What in the world is going on over at Dreams? John? I have been their client for over a year now and really am beginning to wonder what is happening over there.

Good question! In the past, I received a quote & lots of info from Michelle/DU, and even though I decided to book with the "MouseFest" group and another agency, she was super great to work with! She was very understanding, and I would have loved to have had the chance to work with her again. Oh well...:rolleyes:

For all of the comments that people are worried about doing something that may get them banned. Lets be realistic.
This has to go beyond anything that we have seen on the boards. Both were employees of Dreams Unlimited and there has been lots of opportunity to comment by Dreams.
I don't think the run of the mill person has much to fear about being booted.
Would I like to know what happened? Sure natural inquisitiveness. (aka nosey) ;)
That said if the people that are involved or Dreams want to tell us they will either post or email people/friends who have access to the boards.
Otherwise I will respect the two former moderators privacy.
My 2 cents worth (probably all it IS worth but there you go.)

Maybe it is as simple as no workie for DU, no moderate the board they sponsor? I'll miss Michelle, I thought she was a good moderator, she let some of the strings get pretty fun, but would halt them when the cat scratches grew too deep. I hope she signs on as "someone new".

If either one of them chose to leave the DIS, that's one thing. It would be very simple for one of the moderators at the top of this board to state that. Until they do, there will be rumors, hypotheses, and even outlandish speculation regarding their sudden disappearance. It would seem wise for DU aka DIS to reply with an explanation for their sudden exit. Silence on this subject will only hurt DU. Many people thought of CC as more than just a moderator or travel agent. She is more like a friend.

BD and I finally agree on something, Michelle is respected and liked by many. I personally loved working with Michelle and having her for our TA. I knew she would fight the fight for us and give us the best service available.

I think she is funny, smart and very patient. I used her to book our upcomming cruise and a Non-DCL cruise I just took last month. She was and is a GREAT TA.

She let me know awhile back that she no longer worked at DU and then I found out last night she had been "banned". Needless to say I am very upset. I agree much goes on behind the scences we don't know and don't need to know about but bottom line is Cathy and Michelle were well regarded as Travel Agents and Moderator's. I think a lot of us believe in customer loyalty to our TA as we do to DCL and that equals big $$$.

I imagine they have hired new agents but my family has 3 cabins booked for the 10/25 Magic and until I threw a little temper tantrum last week I was getting no or slow service from DU which shocked me. Yes, Michelle was our TA but just bc she is going a different direction does not mean customer service went out the door.

I know our current TA's from DU will read this and I don't mean to offend but come on we have been treated worse than a foster child with no one responding to our questions and requests. Then we were assigned to Tammy who seems very nice but I e-mailed for 5 days and cc'd everyone else including the DU reservation e-mail and no one let me know Tammy was on vacation. I thought that was poor customer service for us and NOT Tammy's fault since she is entitled to a vacation and she probably did not know our 3 cabins were her foster children just like we did not know she was magically our TA................anyway if anyone with DU with any authority reads this listen to what I am saying.

We were not just asking about a little thing we were trying to get my Mother moved to a handicap cabin. It was frustrating bc a DU TA was telling us my Mother's Medical Form was not on file but we had a nice e-mail from DCL and DU stating it was on file so longer story longer it took awhile to get someone at DU to help us (Candie did thank you :) and to get the DCL Medical Coordinator involved etc.........

I have also wanted to upgrade to be closer to my Mother and that has been hard believe it or not.

Michelle I am so sorry for whatever happened that made them ban you. I feel that losing Rae and Ann and now you that these boards are having a changing of the guard I do not know if I want or am ready for. We cruise over 3 times a year and were very excited when Michelle was able to book DCL and Non-DCL cruises for us but I don't know what to expect now...........................................:( Bottom line is I am a little sad today over this :confused:

Rae wasn't banned, she left on her own.

First All Seas with the customer svc. Now DU. I'm sticking with DCL directly. I don't mean that these 2 companies aren't excellent, its just that employees come and go, some are good and some don't care, just like any workplace. With DCL if I don't like who I'm speaking to I can ask for someone else or call back and someone new will answer the phone.

buzz&woody's mom: Oh how I agree with everything you said! Tammy was also assigned us as her "foster children" and did a great job with my numerous requests. HOWEVER, it was difficult at best to contact DU through much of it, and I was half tempted to cancel the whole shebang and transfer it to a company that cared. Tammy did rescue the situation, but then when I sent a complimentary note to DU head, nothing! No response, no nothing! Apparently they don't care their people do an outstanding job and maybe that's part of the reason they lost tremendous resources like Cathy and Michelle! I hate to admit it, but I probably won't be using Dreams in the future, for one thing it didn't save me any money to go through them this time, and they don't even get seat assignments on the plane for me, like my local TA did! I have to call myself.

I do hope someone higher up in Dreams reads this thread...you all had a good product...what happened??

I did not say Rae was banned "I said we lost Rae and then Ann"...........Rae CHOSE to leave which upset many of us but thank goodness we have herr personal e-mail to stay in touch. AnnMorin is a great friend and honest Dis'er that decided last night she had had it too...................

abitjaded - we have no rule about someone no longer working for DU not being allowed to post on the boards. As a matter of fact both Cathy and Michelle left DU over 2 months ago and were never told they had to leave the DIS. In this case there are some extenuating circumstances that Pete addressed in a thread on the community board.

buzz&woody'smom - we did receive your last email about your reservation. You inadvertently did not copy Tammy on it so I forwarded it to her. There seems to be quite a bit of miscommunication going on with your reservation and I think I better speak with you about it myself.

lsmac - I personally replied to your email thanking you for taking the time to let us know about the wonderful service you received from Tammy. Did you not get that? If not, I will gladly forward you what I sent

To all who are upset about their documents going out so late - I truly am sorry. I hate to keep 'passing the buck' on this one but we hope you understand is that DU does not have any control over this. We have called DCL on your behave and we keep getting the same answers. I know that Tammy has been working very hard today to get people tracking numbers from DCL for their documents so they are definitely going out. I know it's frustrating to have to wait - believe me I know - but hopefully they all will be arriving soon!!!

Hi John-

Yes nice speaking with you as well and I understand your OP to me now. I asked my Father again and I feel as if I am the CIA interrogating the poor man but he has notes with dates, numbers and times that he dealt with 2 of the DU TA's on 8/29. I will look forward to hearing from you tomorrow. I am sure it has been a "rough" day for everyone there and formerly there.

So, DCL isn't getting docs out for some of the cuises as fast as they might have at times? No wonder I haven't gotten our 10/25/03 cruise docs yet. LOL .... Actually, anytime in the next couple of weeks is when I expect them.

I have been wondering about Michelle since I think she had been posting under just her name rather than her Webmaster Michelle name. She was always helpful here. Wish her, and everyone else the best.

No we are not employees of Dreams Unlimited. Michelle was. I am not and I know Carol is not. I am not sure about our new mods though you will have to ask them. I am just a volunteer - no pay involved for me.

The Website and DIS Boards and Dreams Unlimited Travel are owned by the same person. The Website came first, then the Agency. Some moderators work as agents for the agency but most are just volunteers.

WMJohn, I did not have any specific questions about my reservation. As far as I know everything is cool. I am very fond of my agent, Regina, and have my full trust in her. I was just wondering what the heck is going on with Dreams and the DIS. And now with Alex (formerly WMAlex) dropping some of his duties, I am even further concerned and saddened. :(

DU does not send out the doc's. DCL send them out directly to us so DU has no control over the timing of the doc's. Thaey have up until 2 weeks before your depature to get the doc's to us.

Oh yes. WebMasterJohn stated it clearly in his post. DCL sends out the docs and that it is out of DU's control when that occurs.
I'm sorry if anyone thought I was implying DU was the one sending out docs. Nothing but great service here from DU.

I second this request. I was off the disboards for a while and when I came back I asked about Fidelio. I was surprised that Rae didn't respond. I found out that she was no longer here and then I found out that Michele was banned.

Rae had a difference of opinion with Dis Board management. She views certain personal principles as being too sacred to dismiss. Rae literally "fought" for the freedoms we cherish, and in her view certain rights were being violated. Apparently the differences were irreconcilable and she left. I honestly don't know whether or not she's lurking. But I miss her dearly...
