What is the easiest way to get from CBR to the Beach Club (Cape May Cafe for dinner) and then from there to the Friendship Dock at the Boardwalk (Illuminations cruise)? Can we walk from Beach Club to the Boardwalk? We should have some time to kill in between dinner and the cruise.
Thanks in advance!

Take the bus from the CBR to the Disney-MGM Studios, then transfer to the boat to the Beach Club. After dinner, you can easily walk around the lagoon to the Boardwalk (in fact, it's a rather pleasant walk anyway). In event of inclement weather or just a case of tired feet (hey, it happens in WDW), you could always catch the boat back across the lake from Beach Club to Boardwalk, just be sure you get on the correct boat.

We took the Illuminations cruise last November and the dock we went off of was on the Beach Club side of the lagoon. There is a small boat house there that houses all the life jackets and you also pay there. I think we had to pay cash then. This dock would be a 5 minute walk from the restaurant. You could check at the Beach Club front desk (right outside of the restaurant's entrance.) We LOVED wataching from under the bridge. Our 6 year old grandson still talks about the moving earth. It is quite cold on the water. The captain gave us blankets but we could have dressed more warmly. Have fun!

As far as the easiest way to get from CBR to the Beach Club... taking a cab is the easiest and it's not that expensive. Although the boatride from MGM is nice if time is not a concern.
We stayed at CBR last April and took the bus to MGM. After spending some time there, we decided we wanted to go to the Boardwalk and took the boat. We had very good experiences with all Disney transportation. After dinner at the Boardwalk, we took a cab back to CBR. If I remember right, it was only about $6 or $7.
