I was walking this morning ( its a little chilly out ) and about half way through my walk my legs and rear started itching REALLY bad! has anyone dealt with this?
My skin isnt dry I had just put lotion on. Ive had this all my life when Ive walked for longer periods of time outside.

Anyone else ever deal with this? Do you know how to stop it?

on the upside it didnt stop me from walking a mile this morning :)

scratch it? ;)
Do you have a rash? Are you wearing cotton underwear? (breathable ones)

It happens to me all the time. I joke that I must be allergic to my own sweat! I've never really found an effective way to deal with it, but I do find that the more I think about it the worse it gets.

I think I read somewhere that in some people exercise can trigger the release of histamines.... and they cause allergic reactions. I get hives when I go from really hot to really cold or really cold to really hot..... itch all over!!

Binny,

Good for you for completing your walk!! My skin itches during weight loss if I am not getting enough fat into my system...sounds funny but it is true...my scalp itches too! LOL!

It also could be a wind/cold thing...was it windy??
See if it happens again!

Sorry I can't be more help!

Could also be prickly heat.

I think it has something to do with your circulation. This happens to me, often. Mostly when I use the elliptical machine :)

Ooops, I don't mean the prickly heat I mean the "itching" :)

well I just explained this to a coworker
I seem to remember wayyyy back having this trouble too. Its like my butt muscles/skin/etc was glad to finally have some breathing space. I mean how long had I been sitting on it before I finally got up?

(sorry I know this isnt what you expected - Im just in that kind of mood right now)

Have you tried using powder? Like maybe desitin or gold bond?

I know exactly what you mean. You're walking and have to stop and just SCRATCH! It's one of those things that make you go "huh"? LOL. :p

It happens to me alot when I walk briskly!! I attribute it to good circulation and working of my muscles!!!! It does itch but it motivates me to work harder!!!
