We're staying off site, but love browsing the various resorts. So far, our favorite is Wilderness Lodge.
But what would you suggest as a nice place to go for about an hour, hour-and-a-half to 1) see great sites...2) get great photos....3) buy stuff at the gift shop!!
Thanks!

Animal Kingdom Lodge.
You can see all the animals, the lodge is beautiful and they have a nice gift shop.

Very easy to spend lots of time (and money!!). It's a beautiful resort, and the savannahs and animals are breathtaking. Don't forget your camera :)

Definitely AKL... there is nothing better. We stayed there last year (will again in December) and I must have spent hours in that gift shop!!!!!

You can do all three with a simple walk around the lake. The Boardwalk has many shops to visit and the Beach Club shop is my wifes favorite. Have Fun!

What exactly is the Boardwalk? An area that connects the Beach Club and Yacht Club...which are 2 different resorts?
(I remember we had breakfast at Cape May last time....but we were in and out pretty quickly...didn't do any spying around!!)

The Boardwalk includes the Boardwalk Inn and the Boardwalk Villas (Disney Vacation Club). There is an actual Boardwalk - think a spotless version of Atlantic City's. There are shops, restaurants, bars, food carts (such as crepes on a stick), games, surrey rentals, and a fortune teller. You can take a short walk (or a boat across the lake) to the Yacht Club and Beach Club or the Swan and Dolphin. Make sure if you go, you wait until the evening so you'll see all of the entertainment. While the shops are open during the day, as well as a few of the restaurants, the Boardwalk is a ton of fun at night.

Well, since my first two choices were already mentioned (AKL and BW), I'll add Grand Floridian and Contemporary. Great resorts, fun to explore!

Don't forget the three Monorail resorts: Polynesian, GF and CR. Each has great photo opportunities, places to sightsee and interesting gift shops - plus you can get some great photos from the monorail itself.

I love the AKL resort and gift shop. You can spend longer than 1.5 hrs there, too.

Take a ferry over to FW. The ferry ride is entertaining in itself. Once you get there, you can stick your feet in the water on the beach, feed the fish, watch the birds, watch the sky at dusk, walk up the trail to the store, and walk on up to the petting zoo. Watch the schedule and there are other activities you can do there too.

I'd second the AKL and the "Boardwalk" shops.
Should add tho that we always find something or other to buy at the gift shop at Coranado Springs.
