Hello everyone,
I'm glad to see that there is interest in having a meet at my favorite place, Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk! Since there are so many meets going on that week, I decided that I would plan two official dates. We're all so booked up with other plans, that it seemed like there was no date that everyone could go, so why not have two meets? I'm going to be at Jellyrolls every night anyways. So here are the two official dates that I'm trying to organize a meet for: Friday, December 5th--8:00pm and Saturday, December 6th--10:00pm.
If you plan on joining us on Friday, December 5th, please sign in here so we'll know how many seats to grab inside the bar.
Please sign up on the other thread if you are going to join us on the 6th.
So, mark your calendars, and please try to join me at Jellyrolls. If these days don't work for you, please shot a PM if you want to meet up with me on the 4th, 7th, or 8th. I'll be there, pen in hand, ready to make some requests, and singalong.

I know there are bunch of us being there at thattime. I am not sure which night we will be available. We are there Dec 3 -7. I know on the evenings of 3,4 & 5 we have somethings already planned and paid for. For Sat night I am not sure.

I'm glad to see that there is interest in Jellyrolls meet. Why don't we shot for either Friday, December 5th or Saturday December 6th? We can get this meet indexed and official, and set it in stone!
I'm thrilled to be able to meet some wonderful Disers!

According to Deb's Unofficial WDW Information Guide site that's not the case:
"As of July 1, the Florida Indoor Clean Air Act dictates that all enclosed indoor workplaces must be nonsmoking. For the Walt Disney World Resort, this will include resort lobbies, convention spaces, clubs at Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island, resort lounges and the formerly way-too-smoky Atlantic Dance at the Boardwalk. All Ears hears that Jellyrolls will remain a smoking establishment."

Interesting, James. Wonder why that place would be excluded. And I wonder about the common areas of the Swan/Dolphin, one of my only gripes about both those resorts. They are always smokey.

When I was at Jellyrolls a few weeks ago, people were smoking there, although I didn't really notice it, and I'm pretty sensitive to smoke. Maybe I was just there on good nights.

Karen.. not sure I can take the smoke............darn it all...maybe they are not Disney owned and therefore do not have to abide by the same rules.....same with the Swan and Dolphin lobbies...
Maybe we will have to have an Adventurer's Club Meet... Kongaloosh anyone??? I will try Karen, but it makes me sick, I cannot stand the smell, I worked too long and hard to give it up years ago..
Thanks James for the info.. :)
We love Jellyrolls, too! We'll be there around that time, so you never know! We may just show up

Nope. Never done Jellyrolls. In 2001, I stayed with the DISers who were avoiding the smoke. Last year, I think that I stayed in my room and watched Survivor. When the show was over, I was too tired to walk over to Jellyrolls.

I'm allergic to smoke as well, and I tend to get water, runny, sore eyes when I'm around smoke. I didn't have a problem when I was there last month two nights in a row. Maybe I just went on good nights, but it wasn't that bad to me.
I do hope that I can meet lots of you at Jellyrolls in December. It should be a blast.

I'll be at POR solo from Nov. 29-Dec. 6, and plan at least a stop or two over at Jellyrolls... I'm sorry to hear they were one of the few places not included in Disney's new non-smoking policy (from what I understand, it has something to do with whether or not an establishment serves food, but I could have that wrong), especially since I quit smoking about 12 weeks ago. HOpefully, by then it won't matter. Temptation will be behind me... anyway, anyone who wants to go on anynight, PM me and we can make arrangements. Looking foward to meeting some of you folks!
As for the possibility of an Adventurer's Club meet, if anyone hears of one during the period I'll be there, let me know! I love starting my evening at Pleasure Island there. I usually don't hang out too long when I'm travelling solo, but it would be much more fun to do with other people!

Count me (and mom) in for Jellyrolls on 12/5!!!
I've never been able to work it in (too tired at the end of our days in the parks, or we just wind up far, far away from the Boardwalk at night, or I've got an exhausted kiddo with me.) But this trip it's just me and mom, and we're staying close by, and there are some of my favorite DISers planning to be there, and it sounds like fun- how could I miss it?! :teeth:

This is great! I would love to meet up with all you folks. We'll be staying at POR.
My in-laws will be getting in late on the 6th, maybe I can get them to watch the kids! We have Cirque on the 5th, maybe my DW would let me get away so I can stop in and say hello...maybe have a few, too!
Have you decided on a deffinate date or will you be there both nights?
Hope to meet everyone there!

http://disgalaxy.com/Disney/Dispics/bookgr.gif
Looks like Jellyrolls is going to be jumping with Dissers. Thought I'd pass this hint along to those who might now see it listed by itself. I guess I'm not wanting any computer friends to not be acknowledged in the crowd that night. So....wear your green. Here's my previous post...
I hope all Dissers are going to wear their lime green to identify themselves as our computer friends while at WDW. I just came up with a great idea and it looks fantastic. Yesterday I found a roll of lime green "curling" ribbon. You know, the kind that you use a scissors or knife to make the ribbon curl up. Well I cut a bunch of strips...ran them through a safety pin in the middle and then "curled" them. Now I can pin this on my backpack, both front and back and go off hoping to see other dissers. I hope this is an idea that others might use. It is cheap, easily identifiable, and really looks neat.

I just recently told Alex the exact same thing (about his "non-signature-signature.)
I'll be heading over to Jellyrolls too, right after Illuminations. I'm booked into the Merry Gigglefest dessert party over at Epcot that night. So once the fireworks are over, I'll be wandering over to Jellyrolls to... well, light some more!
That night (the 5th) is my last night, as I'm flying out on the sixth. I can't imagine a better way to end things than with Illuminations and then meeting all you folks over at Jellyrolls.
And I agree... let's hope for scotty & ray... they rock. Hey, maybe we should come up with some very particular song that we can request and sing along at the top of our lungs, just to make our presence known (as if THAT will be a problem!)

Hmm. What song can we request that would have something to do with lime green? Well, if we see Scotty, we can request one of his signature songs--Rainbow Connection. Kermie's kind of lime green colored.

Alex, I'd like to call a truce with you. It looks like jdads is playing us against each other now in order to get free drinks. I won't play a part in that! If anything, I think jdads2 should be buying us drinks ;)
All joking aside, I'm glad to hear that Alex is going to be gracing us with his presence at Jellyrolls. It will make the night that much more fun. Now if I can only come up with a reason to get Ray to drag Alex onstage to sing "I'll Always Remember when you dressed like a woman for me" to the tune of the Billy Joel song "Always a Woman."

"The Unicorn Song" is a song by the Irish Rovers. It's one of those songs that most people seem to know, but can't always figure out how they know it. At Jellyrolls, they make every stand up, and do a little dance to it. The dance is lead by "the hardest working wait staff." It's one of those things they do every night.
Here are the lyrics:
The Unicorn Song - The Irish Rovers
A long time ago, when the Earth was green
There was more kinds of animals than you've ever seen
They'd run around free while the Earth was being born
And the loveliest of all was the unicorn
There was green alligators and long-necked geese
Some humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees
Some cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born
The loveliest of all was the unicorn
The Lord seen some sinning and it gave Him pain
And He says, "Stand back, I'm going to make it rain"
He says, "Hey Noah, I'll tell you what to do
Build me a floating zoo
and take some of those
Green alligators and long-necked geese
Some humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees
Some cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born
Don't you forget My unicorns
Old Noah was there to answer the call
He finished up making the ark just as the rain started to fall
He marched the animals two by two
And he called out as they came through
Hey Lord
I've got green alligators and long-necked geese
Some humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees
Some cats and rats and elephants, but Lord, I'm so forlorn
I just can't find no unicorns"
And Noah looked out through the driving rain
Them unicorns were hiding, playing silly games
Kicking and splashing while the rain was falling
Oh, them silly unicorns
There was green alligators and long-necked geese
Some humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees
Noah cried, "Close the door because the rain is falling
And we just can't wait for no unicorns"
The ark started moving, it drifted with the tide
The unicorns looked up from the rocks and they cried
And the waters came down and sort of floated them away
That's why you never see unicorns to this very day
You'll see green alligators and long-necked geese
Some humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees
Some cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born
You're never gonna see no unicorns

But I don't think that I will be on stage dragging Alex up there...lol. I think that it was Alex that had already tricked me into getting up on stage last year at the Hoo-Dee-Doo-Review...lol.
And Alex, why are you wishing that I get arrested...lol.

Now that I'm all excited about going to my very first DIS meet I may not be going...
To make a very aggrivating story short, my emplyoyer screwed up my scheduled vacation so I may not be able to get to WDW until the 8th. That is, if I get the vacation scheduled at all.
Hopefully all will work out, I should find out for sure right after all the flights have been booked!

Thanks to TLinden16 for being so concerned and thirsty and to KathyTX for wanting to be entertained! If it were that easy I would gladly let you call! I had been out of work with a back injury for the last 2 months and just recently returned last weekend. Making a huge stink might not be the best way of coping with this problem.
Compounding the problem is not being at work to talk to those in "charge". I work an odd schedule and don't get back until Saturday when they have off. I should find out for sure next Monday or tuesday...then again since time is quickly flying by, I probably won't find out.

Well, we'll all be hoping that you can get the time off, and come join us on the 6th. If not, let me know, and I will send you my address so that you can send me money to pay for lots of drinks for me and Alex. I think about $200 should cover our bar tab for the evening :teeth:

OK, so I was in chat last night, and I came up with a plan for Jellyrolls night. In honor of the DIS, I was thinking anyone who wants to can throw in a buck or two and try to get the piano guys to sing a song with a color in it, but switch the color to lime green (for example, we can request "We all live in a lime green submarine"). I'll start the pot off with a $5. Maybe we can confuse the heck out of some poor old piano guy :D

I like that idea and I'll throw in a couple of bucks! How about "Lime Green Rose of Texas" "Lime Green (Blue) Velvet" or "99 Lime Green (red) Balloons"
..and yes I'll be there! WOOHOO I am doing a favor for management and I wouldn't do it until I got my vacation.

The pot is up to $7 now. Yay! Got some good ideas. Hmm. Maybe we should consider "Lime Green Rose of Texas" in honor of the Texas DISers who will be joining us that night.
And great to hear that you will be able to join us! Alex, here comes our free drinks!

Since "Lime Green" is two syllables, it might be easier for someone to replace a two syllable color (like Purple or Yellow) in a song:
Lime Green Haze - Jimi Hendrix
Lime Green People Eater - Sheb Wooley
Lime Green Rain - Prince
Big Lime Green Taxi - Joni Mitchell
Those are the only ones that come to mind right now.

If one of my favorite piano guys Ray is on that night, I'm really like the thought of Big Lime Green Taxi. He does a killer Big Yellow Taxi, so I'm sure his Big Lime Green Taxi would be unbefreakinglievable. I'd even throw in a few extra bucks for that one.

Three weeks until the Jellyrolls meet on December 5th! Can you tell that I like to count down to things? I'm so psyched for this meet. The piano guys should be very afraid :scared1:
I'm planning on starting the evening at Towncrier's DATW meet at the Rose & Crown at 6:30 pm. I'll be leaving that group by 7:30 to head over to Jelllyrolls. I'll be standing in front of Jellyrolls by 8:00 waiting for others. I'll be wearing my DIS pin, and I'm sure I'll have some lime green ribbon on me somewhere.
Also, for those of you who are planning on showing up later, I'm going to have a lime green gift bow on the table so that you'll know where we are in case you don't know any of us.
Looking forward to this! I know this will be the best time of my trip :teeth:

I asked on another board and found out who will be performing at Jellyrolls on the 5th. Tommy and Jason are one of the pairs, and Drew and Chris are the other pair. I've seen them all over the years. Tommy and Jason are a lot of fun. Drew and Chris are my least favorite pairing of the piano guys, but they are still good.
Unfortunately, it looks like we won't be seeing my favorites, Scotty and Ray. :(

I don't think I asked this before...I'll be staying at the POR resort. What are my options for late night travel back to the resort from Jellyrolls? I won't have a car and, from what I've been reading, that wouldn't be a safe mode of transport anyway. How late for a bus or should I just count on a taxi?
Can't wait to meet everyone!

I'm staying at the CBR and I'm planning on taking a taxi back there that night. If you want to rely on Disney transportation, it would require a transfer. For example, you could take a bus to Downtown Disney and then a second bus to the POR. I'd guess you'd have to leave by midnight for this option. With the waiting for the bus, this could take an hour or more (of course, with good connections, it could take 20 minutes--you just don't know). Depending on when you'd be leaving, I know of at least one other person staying at the POR, so perhaps you could look into sharing a cab with him.
To me, it's worth the $10 or so dollars to just jump in a taxi and be back at my resort in 10 minutes.
Looking forward to meeting you and everyone else as well.

"Leave by Midnight"? I didn't think that was an option! I'll take the taxi. Something tells me that is only half the problem. I'll have to find my building at a resort I have never visited(unitl this trip) and where I will have spent only 1 previous day. Sounds like my DW will be finding me somewhere along the paths during breakfast!
