Gail kindly sent me some pics of her sunflowers to share with everyone. :) Unfortunately, the rain did a number on them, but she was able to get some great shots before they bit the dust.....so to speak.

I LOVE sunflowers! They are just the most cheerful flowers in the world!

We stop at farmstands and buy them.....they just look so wonderful in the kitchen! So perky!

Thanks Kim for posting the pictures.....and being so patient when I was having trouble sending them to you!

These were my first success with sunflowers, and not for lack of trying. I started them from seeds in pots. I still have some smaller ones left that are still blooming too!

I'm ready to try again next year!

Looks to me like you definitely have a green thumb, Gail! :)

I did some miniature sunflowers in pots one year. They turned out pretty good, and the birds had a feast with the seeds! :)

Oh, how pretty! I love sunflowers. DH used to grow them every year...a whole row of them at the end of one of the vegetable gardens but he stopped planting them when he cut down to one garden...not sure why. I'll have to ask him. :confused:
