Passporter Cruise Edition

Has anyone gotten this book? Is it worthwhile? I had the parks version, and it was really thorough. I lurk on their trip report boards, but their cruise boards don't seem very active.

MIL is wanting to get me a bday gift, and that's about the only thing I've thought about.

"<a href="http://www.passporter.com/dcl/"><b><i>PassPorter's Field Guide to the Disney Cruise Line</i></b></a>" is the first, best, and only published resource specializing in DCL. It was well researched by the same folks who created the PassPorter guides to WDW, with Mickey Morgan, creator of the original "<a href="http://wdwig.com/cruise/cruise.shtml"><b><i>Magical Disney Cruise Guide</i></b></a>" as their collaborating author for this book. And it was fact-checked by some expert reviewers such as Barb (Inkkognito) and... um... (ahem)... me. So, yes, I think it's a great resource that's well worth its purchase price.

I am the kind of person who LOVES to research my vacations and I think this book is going to be very helpful. I was impressed with it and I am not a huge Passporter fan.

I think the Passporter Cruise edition is a great book. Just don't rely on it for accurate numbers of people in the room - that seems to be the one area with a lot of typos. Other than that it is a great resource and I recommend it.

Between the Passporter and the Disboards, I already feel like a veteran cruiser, and our first cruise isn't until this October. The book was very worthwhile.

I wasn't clear enough in my question, although the answers have been great. This will be our 3rd cruise, so it's not so much the information I'm looking for (although since I'm addicted, any info is great!). I'm really looking for someplace to organize everything. My in-laws are going with us (for their first really big vacation, MIL has never flown) so I want to be sure to keep all the information together. We'll probably end up doing different things in different ports, etc.

Given the way the parks book is laid out, it offered lots of organization for the actual trip, but not as much for the planning. I was wondering how this was set up for the cruise version. I might just hop over to their site and see if it has some sample pages or something.

It does have a few worksheets, but it does NOT have any of the pockets and organizers like the WDW passporter.

If you are looking for a place to organize, you will have to buy the deluxe edition.

The PassPorter comes with a leather binder, passpockets, and the DCL book. The binder is re-usable, so when you buy a new book, you need only but the deluxe refill and take out the old book and add on the new. You can also take out whatever pages you think you will not use, and rearrange the pages with the deluxe edition.

The PassPockets are the best features, you can write on them, and they have lines and specific areas to write things like the weather, film and picture information, etc, and you can put stuff into the PassPockets, like Navigators, receipts, etc.

I highly recommend the DCL PassPorter Deluxe edition if you are a compulsive organizer, like me:D

I love it when a plan comes together! I love to plan and I am very organized (some would say too organized). I bought the PassPorter Deluxe version and absolutely LOVE it! My cruise isn't until Nov and I've already starting putting things in it that I'm going to need (ex. on the who's sailing 11-1 there is a list of Dis members that are also on the ship I printed that out and put it in there and woll print an updated version when it gets closer). Also on the PassPorter web page you can print out blank pages to add to your book and put your notes and stuff on them.
I highly recommend it. Also if you already bought the WDW one I believe they give you a discount (10 or 15%, but I think it too would have to be the same year's version).

This book is worth every penny!

Getting ready to go on our third Disney cruise this week and refer to it as much as I did on this trip as I did on our first trip.

I love planning, and being informed and the Passporter has had great tips. I really like the "midship with Mickey". I am a "tidbits" queen and love the helpful hints.

Or if you're a compulsive organizer wannabe like me! LOL!! Honestly, I swear by the Passporter, and love the deluxe version sooooo much. For the DCL part, all I had to order was the "guts" to put in the binder, along with fresh new Passpockets. And this will be my third cruise, but I still have found the Passporter to be not only a huge organizational help, but an informational one. And one of the best things about any of the Passporters to me is that they are updateable, by simply printing out the formatted updates from the Passporter website, punching holes in them, and popping them right into your binder.

That darn thing makes me feel so organized... sure fools people who don't know me. ;)

Since the ship is going to have some changes made to it when it's in drydock in October, do you think it's worth it to buy the Passporter if we're not traveling until December? This will be our 3rd Magic cruise and I'd love to have the passporter but not sure if it'll still be relevant after the changes onboard.

the passporter book is great. i just got it off amazon.com and it is so inforative. packed full of great information. its a must have if you are a first time cruiser. and its even better if its your 2nd cruise:Pinkbounc :bounce:
